COMMERCE - Julia Helen Kalinowski Hoffman, 55, died Wednesday at her residence. Graveside services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sonora Cemetery in Fairlie with Rev. Ben Smith officiating.
The daughter of John Kalinowski and Ellen Marie Harris Kalinowski, she was born Dec. 5, 1945 in Houston. She and Joel Hoffman married on March 24, 1965 in Fort Worth.
Mrs. Hoffman moved to Commerce from Missouri in 1981. She was a veteran of the United States Army and served as sergeant during the Vietnam era. She was a member of the England Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of Commerce; daughter and son-in-law Anna and John Cowfer of Commerce; daughters Joella Hoffman, Rose Hoffman, Sarah Jane Hoffman and Julia Ann Hoffman, all of Commerce; son and daughter-in-law Michael and Lisa Hoffman of Emory; a son, Bruce James Hoffman of Commerce; sisters Virginia Sims of Austin, Elizabeth O'Neal of Garland, Gloria Lawley of Arlington and Kelly Elizalde of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, James Kalinowski of Houston; sister-in-law Rebecca of Wolfe City; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Lloyd Long.
Honorary pallbearers are Scott Baldwin, Kenneth Dayberry, Melia Garner, Bart Deaton and Ray Deaton.
Memorials will be accepted in her memory by her family.
Visitation is from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at Pemberton Funeral Home.
Emma Jo McKinzie
Emma Jo McKinzie, 60, of Greenville died Dec. 30 at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Elem Baptist Church with Rev. Ronald G. Davis officiating. Burial is in Grundy Memorial Park.
She was born Feb. 4, 1940 in Greenville to Jessie and Lessie Davis. She was a member of Mount Elem Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, David Hawkins, Richard Phelps and Fred Phelps, all of Greenville; five daughters, Joyce Phelps, Sandra Stephenson, Cora Clark and Deloris McKinzie, all of Greenville and Jolene Grisby of Rowlett; five brothers, John Davis, Earlie Davis, Billy Ray Davis, Bobby Lee Davis and Ronald Davis, all of Greenville; seven sisters, Velma Smith, Brenda Hunter, Gloria Davis, all of Greenville, Dorthy Carson of Dallas, Linda Caldwell of Garland, Mary Thomas of Lubbock and Glenda Jackson of Emory; 40 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two daughters, three brothers and two sisters.

Cornelia Parson
Cornelia Parson, 96, of Greenville died December 29 at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Price Temple COGIC with Rev. R.C. Wren officiating. Burial is in Grundy Memorial Park.
Mrs. Parson was born Nov. 29, 1904, in Marland; the daughter of Andrew and Mary Neal. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Surviving are sons, Eddie Davis of Greenville and Frank Parson of Garland; daughters, Berdie Jones and Bertha Wilson, both of Greenville; sister, Rosetta Brown of Dallas; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, four sons and four daughters.
Pallbearers are friends of the family.

Bobbie J. Hancock
EMORY - Bobbie J. Hancock, 70, of Emory, died Sunday at her home. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Wilson-Orwaski Funeral Home with burial in Smyrna Cemetery. Rev. Kenneth Ishmael will officiate.
Mrs. Hancock was born in Lamar County on Sept. 26, 1930, to Luther Gray and Julia Samuels. She married Ralph Hancock in 1956, in Dallas. She was a Baptist.
Surviving are daughters Jayne Nutt of Emory, Judy Adcock of Norfork, Ark., and Jeanie Bartlett of Duncanville; a sister, Hazel Lane of Dallas; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Henry, Michael Clevinger, Robert Clevinger, Shawn Alimbi, Bill Nutt and David Nutt.
Charles H. Hargett
WOLFE CITY - Charles H. Hargett, 58, of Wolfe City, died Friday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Tidwell Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Hargett officiating.
Mr. Hargett was born on March 6, 1942, in Linden to Henry H. Hargett and Leona Stiguallde. He married Shirley Williams on Sept. 10, 1963, in Naples. He was an auto mechanic and a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife; a son, charles Ray Hargett of Wolfe City; daughters Shirlene Williams and Jennifer Vanzura of Greenville; a brother, Frank Hargett of Wills Point; a sister, Georgia Patterson of Arlington and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
Pallbearers will be Ray Holt, James Vanzura, Randy Williams, Charles Hargett, David Patterson and Dennis Patterson.

Margaret Lou Hayes
Margaret Lou Hayes of Greenville died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Memoryland Memorial Park with Rev. Bill Shaddox officiating.
Mrs. Hayes was born in Fannin County on Oct. 20, 1923, the daughter of Earl "Chub" and Esther Leslie Smith. She married William E. Hayes on April 15, 1944, in Dallas. She was a retired snack bar cashier for Greenville Junior High School. Mrs. Hayes was a Methodist.
Surviving are sons David Hayes of Little Rock, Ark., Jack Hayes of Campbell and James Hayes of Greenville; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987, a son, Billy Hayes, and an infant sister.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
Dianne Jennings
Dianne Jennings, 51, of Greenville, died Saturday at her home. Memorial services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Mathews Chapel with Rev. Jackie Harmon officiating.
Mrs. Jennings was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., on Nov. 4, 1949, to Billy and Jane Brockman Bryant. A graduate of East Texas State University, she was a cost accountant for Fiberite and was past president of the American Association of University Women. Mrs. Jennings was a Methodist.
Surviving are sons Jason Jennings of Plano and Jeff Jennings of Texarkana; her parents of Greenville; her twin brother, Donald Bryant and wife Karla of Grand Rapids; a granddaughter, Elyssa Jennings of Greenville and a niece, Heather Bryant of Grand Rapids.

Arnold R. Kennimer
EMORY - Arnold r. Kennimer, 53, of Emory, died Sunday in a Tyler hospital. Services will be at 2:30 A.M. Wednesday at Wilson-Orwasky Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Smith and Rev. David Hendricks officiating. Burial will be in Yantis Cemetery.
Mr. Kennimer was born in Alba on March 30, 1947, to Arlis and Ruth Kirkpatrick Kennimer. He married Linda Hullett on July 7, 1975, in Durant, Okla. He was a retired employee of Rains County and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a Baptist.
Survivng are his wife; his mother, Ruth Whithead of Emory; sons Gabe Kennimer of Emory and Rick Kennimer of Mesquite; a daughter, Kim Gonzales of Emory; a brother, Claudie Kennimer of Emory; a sister, Linda Starns of Emory; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father in 1979.
Pallbearers will be E.O. Gaston, Michael Adams, Darrin Gowin, Ronnie Meurer, Chris Fletcher and Dennis Flemming. Honorary pallbearers are William Potts, Harl Dean Hass and Chris Hathcox.

Daniel McKenzie
Daniel McKenzie, 62, of Greenville, died Sunday at his home. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Coker-Mathews Chapel with Rev. Jeff Wooten officiating. Burial will be in Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
He was born in Wolfe City on Oct. 29, 1938, to William and Viola McClendon McKenzie. He married Jean Reynolds on Feb. 23, 1957, in Greenville. He was a Fitting Valve Control (FVC) All Gas machinist. Mr. McKenzie was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife; sons Danny Ray McKenzie of Rowlett and Robert Joe McKenzie of Garland; a daughter, Vicki Renee McKenzie of Caddo Mills; brothers Bobby Joe McKenzie of Dallas; Charles McKenzie of Greenville and Don Ray McKenzie of Caddo Mills; a sister, Gennie Lee Colbert of Greenville; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Pallbearers will be Eric Lee Reed, Brock Ian Watkins, James Thomas Basden, Adolfo Costaneda, Jimmy Lee and Tim Mackey.

Elgin W. Peck
Elgin W. Peck, 75, of Greenville, died Saturday in Dallas. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery with Rev. Don Strudwick and Orlanda Cruz officiating.
Mr. Peck was born Aut. 22, 1925, in Edna to Albert and Elizabeth Peck. He married Irene Peck on Aug. 22, 1963, in Kerrville. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict and an aeronautical mechanic for E-Systems where he retired in 1986. Mr. Peck was a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans of Greenville and the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Kerrville.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; two daughters, Kimberly Madrid of Dallas and Patricia M. Hughey of North Carolina; sons Mark Peck of Midlothian, Michael Peck of Greenville ands Ed Mullins of Dallas; a sister, Evelyn Fountain of Princeton; two nieces, Susan Webb of Princeton and Cynthia Ferguson of Dallas, and nine grandchildren, Chris Hughey, Erin Fritz, Joshua and Ben Mullins, Michaela Beavers, Elisabeth, Sarah and Rachel Peck and David Madrid.
He was preceded in death by children Charles and Michele Peck, two sisters, Betty Smith and Edith Fountain, and a brother, Johnny Peck.

Ruby Scott Preston
PARIS - Ruby Scott Preston, 88, of Paris, died Sunday in a Paris hospital. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Fry & Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Fangio officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Preston was born Sept. 1, 1912, in Pattonville to R.E. and Johnnie Anna Dupre Scott. She married John Jeff Preston on June 23, 1956, in Hugo, Okla. She was a retired licensed vocational nurse after 37 years. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Ramona Parsons of Paris, four stepchildren and six grandchildren, including Johnny Gray of Greenville. She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 17, 1994, a son, Bob Merritt in 1986, and three brothers, Herman, Barney and William Scott.

She was born in Mesquite on Feb. 2, 1917, to Dan and Laura Brotcher Werner. She married Clarence Ragan on Sept. 19, 1937, in Union Valley. She was a retired telephone operator and a Baptist.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Leon and Alice Ragan of Caddo Mills; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be Merle Watson, Henry Lee Grimes, Jerry Don Wood, Joe Carroll Johnson and Jim Green.

Emilia C. Dominguez, 93, of Greenville, died Saturday morning at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Williams Catholic Church withMsgr. John V. McCallum and Father Oscar Diez officiating. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Dominguez was born in Camaguey, Cuba, on June 6, 1907, to Manuel Gregory and Emilia Camin. She was married to Manuel Dominguez on Oct. 25, 1925, in Camaguey. She was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church.
Surviving are her daughters, Marie E. Labrada of Tyler and Dr. Margot Berggren of Greenville; special friend Marie J. Lopez; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and 10 brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Terry Berggren, Thor Berggren, Fernando Labrada, Chase Potter, Scott Potter and Dennis Shaeffer.

Thelma Mae King, 93, of Greenville, died Sunday morning at Briarcliff Health Center. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Memorial Park with Rev. Melvin Pearce officiating.
Mrs. King was born in Cumby on June 26, 1907, to John and Euna Lewis Pierson. She married Odis King on May 15, 1928, in Cumby. She was a Baptist.
Survivng are a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Jim Spradley of Greenville; a sister, Johnnie Barnes of College Station; grandchildren Les and Mary Spradley of San Antonio, Kay and Harry Childress of Celeste and LaVenda and Joel McKay of Wolfe City; and great-grandchildren, Justin Brower, Michael Brower, Lauren George, Leslie Spradley, John Spradley, Brandon, McKay and Grant McKay.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 9, 2000, and a brother.

Rita Ann Jacobsen
CUMBY - Rita Ann Jacobsen, 77, of Cumby died Saturday in Cumby. A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Commerce with Father D. Stanley Corcoran officiating.
She was born June 20, 1923, in Rochester, N.Y., to George and Katherine Schreiner Goodberlet. She married Richard Jacobsen on Dec. 18, 1956, in Canandaigua, N.Y. She moved to Cumby from Garland in 1971. She was a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy High School in Rochester. She was a secretary to the president of the University of Dallas from 1955 to 1957. She was involved with the children's programs with the Christian Bible Study in Sulphur Springs until her death and was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Rick Jacobsen of Rockwall; daughter-in-law, Penny Jacobsen of Rockwall; daughters, Rae Sowell of Monarch Beach, Calif. and Rhonda Jacobsen of Tustin, Calif.; son-in-law, Jessie Sowell of Monarch Beach, Calif.; brothers George Goodberlet of Churchville, N.Y., and Alphonse Goodberlet of Blue Hill, Maine and four grandchildren.
