George Beal Jr.
George E. Beal Jr., 72, of Greenville died Sunday at St. Paul's Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with Rev. Don Dinwiddie officiating. Burial is in National Cemetery, Fort Smith, Ark. at a later date.
The son of George E. Beal Sr. and Virginia Rose Dillon Beal, he was born Feb. 15, 1928 in Fort Smith, Ark. He married Joyce A. Womack on July 14, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Mr. Beal served in the U.S. Navy and received the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal during the Korean Conflict.
He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas with a bachelor of science in electrical engineering. Mr. Beal was a Consulting Engineer in Aircraft Systems (Registered Professional Engineer in Texas and Oklahoma). Mr. Beal was a member of the Quiet BirdMen, Antique Car Club, EAA, Horseless Carriage Club, Model T Ford Club, ARRL, Theta Tau Professional Engineering Fraternity. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Surviving are his wife; sons and daughters-in-law William and Brenda Beal of Grand Prairie and Paul and Jennifer Beal of Fort Worth and two granddaughters.
Memorials may be made to Hunt County Shared Ministries (FISH), the Memorial Fund at St. Paul's Episcopal Church or to a charity of choice.
Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Willie Bobo
QUINLAN - Willie Clyde "Bill" Bobo, 87, died Saturday at Green Acres Nursing Home in Emory. Graveside services are at 11 a.m. today at Simmons Cemetery in Cash.
He was born Aug. 27, 1913 in Cash to John and Kate Taylor Bobo. He retired from Cosden Oil Co.
Mr. Bobo is survived by a son, Billy Bobo of Sealey; a daughter, Loretta Rich of Point; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is this morning until time of service at Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home

Elizabeth Gray
WILSON, Okla. - Elizabeth Ann "Lizzie" Gray, 92, longtime Wilson area resident, died Sunday in Ardmore, Okla. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Langley officiating. Burial is in Hewitt Cemetery.
Born June 26, 1908 in Spurry, Tx. she was the daughter of James Riley and Bonnie Ann Sanders Jones. She was married to Oscar Lee Gray on May 28, 1927 in Wilson.
She moved to Wilson in a covered wagon with her family when she was eight years old and attended school at New Wilson, Simon, Post Oak and Blackjack. She and her husband lived in the Bryant and Simon Communities.
Surviving are five sons, O.L. and Roger Gray of Wilson, Okla., Danny Gray of Simon, Okla., Jimmie Gray of Greenville and Richard Gray of Campbell; three daughters, Bonnie Hodges of Wilson, Okla., Jo Ann Kinney of San Angelo and Carolyn McKinnon of Gainesville; two brothers, Dave Jones of Chula Vista, Calif. and J.R. Jones of San Diego, Calif.; 54 grandchildren; 73 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 3, 1969; a daughter, Ima Jewell Simmons on June 24, 1995; four sisters, Dollie Evans, Maggie Easterwood, Mildred Banks and Marie Beck; two brothers, Arvel and Fred Jones; two grandchildren, Angela Morgan and Gayle Grissom and two great-grandchildren, Josh Collett and Colby Reason.
Grandsons are pallbearers and granddaughters are honorary pallbearers.
Alexander Funeral Home of Wilson, Okla. is in charge of arrangements.

Melvin Hicks
Melvin Hicks, 61, of Greenville died Sunday at his residence. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the East Side Pentecostal Church of God with Elmo Best and Danny Davis officiating. Burial is in Wieland Cemetery.
The son of James Melton and Lenia Gladwell Hicks, he was born Nov. 21, 1939 in Beardstown, Ill. Mr. Hicks was a truck driver who had recently retired from Pacer.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy M. Hicks of Greenville; sons Buck Hicks, James Hicks and Randy Box, all of Greenville; a daughter, Donna Patterson of Floyd; brothers Robert Hicks of Chickasha, Okla., Jack Hicks of Metropolis, Ill. and Raymond Lambert of Monmouth, Ill.; sister Linda Lambert Warren of Stanwood, Iowa and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Leon Hicks and David Hicks and one sister, Jannett Kerry.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Lynch Alternative Funeral Service, Inc.

Ben Keeton Jr.
Ben Oren Keeton Jr. of Mesquite died Sunday at his residence. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Baldridge and Lynn Blair officiating. Burial is in Forest Park Cemetery.
The son of Ben Oren Keeton Sr. and Marie Scott, he was born July 7, 1924 in Fort Worth. On Feb. 10, 1966 he married Marie Erwin in Dallas.
Mr. Keeton was a veteran and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from the military. He was a Baptist and a member of the Masonic Lodge and Hella Temple Shrine.
Surviving are his wife of Mesquite; son Scott Keeton of Illinois; stepson Billy Dale Foster of Beaumont; a daughter, Debra Keeton of Denver, Colo.; stepdaughters Gloria Mitchell of Greenville and Patricia Keeton and Sharon Gibbons of San Diego, Calif. and a sister, Lauretta Tindle of Fort Worth.
His parents preceded him in death.
Pallbearers are Kenneth Peters, Joey Peters, J.D. Peters, Brian Keeton, Jack Keeton and Roger McNiel.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

John Magenheimer
John H. Magenheimer, 79, of Greenville died Saturday at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. There will be a private graveside service at the Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.
Born Jan. 26, 1921 in Long Island, N.Y., he was the son of Henry Magenheimer and Marie Theile Magenheimer. On Sep. 17, 1945 he married Alice Dickerson in Alabama.
Mr. Magenheimer served in medical care in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an administrator for Aero Nautical. He had lived in Greenville the past three years.
Mr. Magenheimer is survived by his wife of Greenville; a son, Brian Magenheimer of Greenville and a grandson, Jacob Magenheimer of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Magenheimer and a daughter, Debra Magenheimer.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home.

Floyd Smiley
QUINLAN - Floyd Smiley, 93, of Quinlan died Sunday at Crestwood Nursing Home in Wills Point. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Quinlan Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Reagon officiating. Burial is in Hooker Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Smiley was born in Lone Oak on May 14, 1907. He worked with sheet metal. Mr. Smiley was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Smiley; a son, Benny Smiley; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is during business hours at Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home.

Clyde Wade
A memorial service for retired Air Force Col. Clyde LeRoy Wade, 82, of Greenville is at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Kavanaugh United Methodist Church.
Col. Wade died Sunday in Presbyterian Village North in Dallas.
He was born Dec. 28, 1917, in Johnson City, Tenn., to John and Grace Wade. He served as a flight instructor training fighter pilots in World War II, and he flew combat missions as a fighter pilot for the duration of the Berlin Airlift, in the Korean War and in Vietnam.
In peacetime, he was an experimental test pilot appointed to Dwight Eisenhower's team as accident investigating officer for the Air Force, and he later was chairman of the selection committee for the first team of American astronauts.
During his military career he was awarded the Legion of Merit for outstanding services as a test pilot and flight commander. He was also honored with the Distinguished Flying Cross for combat heroism, earning the Air Medal five times for single acts of heroism, the Air Force Commendation Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.
His squadrons were recognized by two Presidential Unit Citations awarded by the U.S. and the Republic of Korea for extraordinary heroism against an armed enemy.
Following retirement from the service, he continued to work as a fight test engineer for E-Systems in Greenville.
He is survived by his wife, Faye Moses Wade of Greenville, whom he married in 1942 in Arcadia, Fla.; daughters Sue Wade of Dallas and Dr. Jenny Wade of Corte Madera, Calif.; granddaughter Rachel Marks of Princeton, N.J.; a sister, Mrs. Clive Bare of Knoxville, Tenn.; brothers Walter Wade of Memphis, Tenn., and Norman Wade of Redwood City, Calif.
A memorial fund has been established in his name at Kavanaugh United Methodist Church.

Opal Williams
COMMERCE - Opal Williams, 97, of Sulphur Springs, formerly of Commerce, died Monday at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs. A graveside service is scheduled at 2 p.m. today at Little Elm Cemetery with Rev. Natalie Chamberlain officiating.
She was born Oct. 16, 1903 in Frisco; the daughter of J.T. Williams Sr. and Cassandra "Cassie" White Williams.
She graduated from Frisco Public School June 3, 1921; received a bachelor of arts degree from Texas College of Industrial Arts (now Texas Women's University) in 1938; her bachelor of science degree from the University of Illinois in 1931 and a master's degree in library science from Columbia University School of Library Science in 1948.
Miss Williams worked as a librarian at Randolph College in Cisco from 1925 to 1928 and moved to East Texas State Teachers College in 1928 where she was named head librarian in 1931.
During her tenure the Department of Library Science was organized. She stepped down as head librarian in 1969 and retired in 1973. She was the first librarian at East Texas State University to be granted emeritus rank.
Miss Williams was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Commerce. She was a member of American Association of University Women; a charter member of Friends of Commerce Public Library (1954) and served as their executive vice president until 1979; she was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Beta Lambda Chapter; a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Captain Charles Croxall Chapter of Commerce and served as regent from 1974 to 1978.
She was a life member of Texas Library Association and was active in the local, district and state levels. Miss Williams was a member of East Texas State University Dames.
She is survived by a brother, Dr. J.T. Williams of Sulphur Springs; a nephew, Tim Williams and wife Sherry of Sulphur Springs and a niece, Mickey Richey of Tyler.
A sister, Mrs. Jimmie Ramage, preceded her in death.
Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home of Commerce is in charge of arrangements.

Edward Wygal
CADDO MILLS - Edward "Ed" Earnest Wygal of Caddo Mills died Monday in Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Full Gospel Church in Caddo Mills with Rev. Richard Ham and Randall Bost officiating. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
The son of Gene Campbell Wygal and Josie Jane Patterson, he was born April 13, 1918 in Able Springs. On Sep. 9, 1939 he married Kathleen Nelson in Greenville.
Mr. Wygal was an assembler for John E. Mitchell Co. He was a member of Full Gospel Church.
Mr. Wygal is survived by his wife of Caddo Mills: sons James and wife Terresa Wygal and Douglas Wygal, all of Caddo Mills; daughter Patsy Wygal of Caddo Mills; sisters Mildred Farmer of Garland, Ruenell Dillon Gandy of Fort Worth and Dee McKinzie and Winnie Mae King of Caddo Mills and granddaughter and husband Michelle and Jeff Patterson of Caddo Mills and Jason and Amanda Wygal of Caddo Mills.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul and a sister, Jean Katherine.
Pallbearers are Howard Burton, A.L. "Sonny" Nelson, Mike Locker, Gary Light, Phil King and Greg McKinzie.
Rentfrow Funeral Home of Caddo Mills is in charge of arrangements.

Desser Adair
Desser Jewel Adair, 85, of Emory died Saturday in Green Acres Nursing Home in Emory. No services are planned.
Mrs. Adair was born April 23, 1915, in Winnsboro; the daughter of Babe and Molly Whisennant. She was married to Dr. J.B. Adair in 1936 in Commerce.
Mrs. Adair was a school teacher and served as a missionairy in Nigeria and West Africa for six years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce.
Surviving are a son, John Adair of Lone Oak; sister, Geraldine Powell of Teague; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, four sisters and one brother.
Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Leonard James
FARMERSVILLE - Leonard "Jim" James Jr. , 62, of Farmersville died Friday in Farmersville. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church with Bart Barber, Jim Wicker and Doyle Henderson officiating. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Mr. James was born Feb. 17, 1938, in Tucson, Ariz.; the son of Leonard D. and Ethel Saltsgiver James. He married Peggy Spearman on Jan. 6, 1961, in National City, Calif.
Mr. James was a retired power plant manager for the City of Garland. He was a U.S. Navy veteran with 20 years of service. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife of Farmersville; daughters, Lanette James of Columbia, S.C. and Meredith James of Plano; sons, Darrell James of Plano and Damon James of Farmersville; and six grandchildrend.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hurst's Fielder-Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville.

Viviana Lopez
Viviana Lopez, infant, died Saturday at Presbytertian Hospital of Greenville. Graveside services are at 12 noon today at Memoryland Memorial Park.
The infant was born Saturday in Greenville to Octavio and Olga Osornio, who survive her.
She is also survived by her grandparents, Maria Ruiz, Carmer Cruz and Pascual Lopez, all of Mexico.
She was preceded in death by grandparents, Lola Lopez, Fidencio Cruz, Viviana Osornio and Virginio Lopez.
