ROCKWALL " Ralph Perfater, 72, died Tuesday in Dallas. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel with Rev. Roger Ratliff and Bill Fondren officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
He was born Oct. 19, 1928 in Roanoke, Va. to Sam and Sylvia Lefler Perfater. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Mr. Perfater lived in Union Valley for 20 years before moving to Caddo Mills. He was a member of Vansickle Baptist Church.
Mr. Perfater is survived by his wife, Alice Perfater of Caddo Mills; daughters Sherry Daniel of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Judy Castro and Deborah Massie, both of Royse City; a son, Barry Perfater of Iowa; brother Jack Perfater of Tyler; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A grandson preceded him in death.
Memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Vansickle Baptist Church in Greenville.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ruby Stone
DALLAS " Ruby "Billie" Stone, formerly of Dallas, died in Greenville on Wednesday. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Restland Wildwood Chapel with burial in Restland Memorial Park.
Survivor include her husband, Leonard Stone; two daughters, Shirley Reames, Patsy Turner and Kathy Edwards; sisters Tot Springfield, Louise Hitt and Ruth Pope; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
William Younce
FARMERSVILLE " William Allen "Bill" Younce, 95, of Farmersville died Wednesday at the V.A. Hospital in Dallas. There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. Saturday at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Rev. Bart Barber officiating.
Born in Frisco on March 26, 1906, he was the son of David Crockett Younce and Francis Krinbow Younce. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Younce was a carpenter and he was a Baptist.
He is survived by stepdaughters Peggy Harless of Garland and Maurine Dorothy Irving of Commerce and four grandchildren.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hurst's Fielder-Baker Funeral Home.
Betty Garrison
WOLFE CITY " Betty Sue Garrison, 68, of Zavalla died Sunday at her home following a lengthy illness. Graveside services are at 10:30 a.m. today at Mt. Carmel Cemetery with Dwight Gardner.
Born Nov. 5, 1932 in Bokchita, Okla., she was the daughter of Fred Doyle Gear and Myrtle W. Cummings Gear. She was married Jan. 17, 1949 to James Darl Garrison in Florence, Ariz. Mrs. Garrison worked as a nurse's aid in a rest home. She was a Jehovah's Witness.
Surviving are a son, Harvey Garrison of Mesquite; two daughters, Carmen Helbert of Zavalla and Deborah Dykes of Commerce; her mother of Wolfe City; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1980.

Clevis Hawkins
Clevis Joe Hawkins, 55, of Greenville died Saturday at Dallas Hospital. Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shiloh Church in Christ in Greenville with Rev. Bobby Crosby officiating. Burial will be at Piney Creek Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. Born April 13, 1946 in Jefferson, Tex., he was the son of Jack and Ruthie Hawkins. He was married November 9, 1964 to Mattie Lue Edwards in Greenville. Mr. Hawkins was a member of Shiloh Church of God in Christ.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Christopher Joe Hawkins of San Bernadino, Calif. and Marvin Glenn Hawkins of Greenville; one daughter, Jewel Hawkins of Greenville; two brothers, Preston Hawkins of Greenville and Marvin Lewis Hawkins of Dallas; two sisters, Mary Mallard and Beverly Hawkins, both of Greenville and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Cozine and Tarver Funeral Home.
Harry Matthews
DALLAS " Harry Eugene Matthews, 72, of Dallas died Tuesday in Dallas. Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Clark Street Christian Church in Greenville with Rev. Larry Price officiating. Burial will be at East Mount Cemetery in Greenville.
Born August 6, 1928 in Greenville, Tex., he was the son of Lawrence and Hassie Matthews. Mr. Hawkins was Baptist.
Surviving are his two sons, John and Willie Matthews, both of Dallas; two daughters, Beverly and Jacquline Matthews, both of Dallas; one brother, Bubber Matthews of Dallas; three sisters, Tessie Matthews, Annie Smallwood and Helen Johnson, all of Greenville; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Cozine and Tarver Funeral Home.
J.D. McKeown
EMORY " J.D. McKeown, 91, of Mineola died Monday at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. Funeral services are at 3 p.m. today at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola.
Son of T.C. and Rosa Lee Davis McKeown, he was born in Hopkins County. He married Allene Finley on May 28, 1976 in Lubbock. Mr. McKeown served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was an administrator in public schools for more than 40 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mr. McKeown is survived by his wife of Mineola, daughter Sarah Schaffer of Lewisville and one grandson.
Four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
Family visitation will be at the funeral home following the service.
Cathy Monk
LEONARD " Funeral services for Mrs. Cathy Hawkins Monk, 51, of Edgewood, formerly of Leonard, will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Wrenn officiating. Burial will be in Leonard Cemetery.
Mrs. Monk died Monday at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.
She was born Aug. 17, 1949 to Homer Havens and Mary Evelyn Saye Havens. She was a homemaker and a member of the Leonard Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Troyce Monk of Edgewood; sons Bobby Mann of Grand Saline, David Mann of Dallas and Erick Hawkins of Edgewood; daughters Ashley Lent of Canton and Cheryl Monk of Grand Saline; her mother of Pottsboro; a brother, Bobby Havens of Pottsboro and three grandchildren.

Harvey Harris
WOLFE CITY " Harvey Lane Harris, 96, of Celeste died Sunday at Lake Pointe Medical Center in Rowlett following a long illness. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jack Levescy of Carrollton officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Born March 4, 1905 in Hunt County, he was the son of C.A. and Mary Lee Apple Harris. On Dec. 22, 1926 he married Beda Ann Mayner in Ladonia. Mr. Harris was a retired sexton of the Mt. Carmel Cemetery and was a member of Hickory Creek Baptist Church in Hickory Creek.
Surviving are two daughters, Virginia Hood of Avinger and Rosemary Swaney of Merit; one son, Billy Harris of Rowlett; a brother, Jimmy Harris of Augusta, Ga.; two sisters, Tranny Depoma of Dallas and Rose Hargrove of Leonard; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Morris Knight
CADDO MILLS " Morris Knight, 93, a longtime Caddo Mills resident, died Monday in Rockwall. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Rentfrow Funeral Home Chapel-Caddo Mills with Rev. Paul Knight officiating. Burial will be in Royse City Cemetery.
Son of Henry and Rebecca Knight, he was born Feb. 16, 1908 in Pauls Valley, Okla. He married Geneva McCasland on June 18, 1935. Mr. Knight was a carpenter.
Mr. Knight is survived by a brother, Clyde Knight; sons James Harold Knight of Rockwall and Joe Knight of Carrollton; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996; a son, Morris Milton Knight in 1967 and great-grandson Joel Garrett.
Pallbearers will be Wilbur Roe, Wayne Poe, Roy McCasland, Herschel McCasland, Ben Williams and Earl Ragan Jr.
Visitation is 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
James Melton
COMMERCE " James Earl Melton, 50, of Commerce died Sunday. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ronnie Ross officiating. Burial will be in Benjamin Cemetery in Benjamin at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
He was born Aug. 28, 1950 in Knox City to Homer T. Melton and Kathleen Sams Melton. He married Debra Parker on Feb. 14, 1990 in Altus, Okla. Mr. Melton graduated from Benjamin High School in 1968 and received his bachelor's degree in wildlife management from Texas Tech University in 1972. He was employed with Texas Parks and Wildlife. He had lived in Commerce for six years, moving from Abilene. Mr. Melton was a park complex manager at Cooper Lake for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
He was a member of the Sulphur Springs Leadership Class and was a past director of the Chamber of Commerce in Sulphur Springs. He was a member of the Posey Baptist Church in Birthwright and served on the church board.
Survivors include his wife of Commerce; two daughters, Kobi Melton of College Station and Jessica Rab of Commerce; two sons, Jason Melton of Houston and David Abbott of Commerce and sister Mary Jane Young of Benjamin.
His parents preceded him in death.
Pallbearers will be James Harden, Wyman Meinzer, James Morton, Kenneth Parker, Andy Wright and Jackie Young Jr.

Melvin Earl Pearce, 69, of Greenville died Sunday morning at Medical City Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at Park Street Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Weems and Dr. Marvin Mosley officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas at 2 p.m.
Son of William Earl Pearce and Lorene Johnson, he was born Nov. 23, 1931 in Goldthwaite. He married Ruth Bird on May 26, 1951 in Dallas. Mr. Pearce served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for the Postal Service and was a hospital chaplain. He was a member of Park Street Baptist Church.
Mr. Pearce is survived by his wife of Greenville; his mother of Greenville; a son, William Earl Pearce of Greenville; daughter and son-in-law Peggy and D.D. Hobbs of Midlothian; sisters and brothers-in-law Dorothy and Wayne Evans of Ovilla, Nova and Earl Harvey of Waxahachie and Mary Helen and Earl Nichols of Cedar Hills; grandchildren Zachary Hobbs of Grand Prairie, Holly Hobbs of Midlothian, Whitney Hobbs of Midlothian and Jayme Pearce Perez of Canton and one great-grandchild.
His father preceded him in death in 1980.
Pallbearers will be Rev. Joel Arnold, Rev. Bill Hunt, Rev. Tom Barnes and Wayne Maples. Honorary pallbearers will be pastoral care volunteers of the Attaining Clergy Association.

EMORY " Greg Hall, 30, of Emory died Friday at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Ishmael officiating. Burial will be at Emory City Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 6, 1070, in McKinney to Arthur Don and Shriley Northcutt Hall. He married Dana Good in 1990. He worked in the construction business and was self employed. He was a member of the Freedom Church of God.
He is survived by his wife; mother; son, Gregory Don Hall II of Denton; daughter, Fayton Dayne Good of Denton; brothers, David Hall of Dallas and Dennis Hall of Kansas City, Mo.; sisters, Sharon Simmons of Alba, Gwen Turner of Hurst and Donna Richie of Rockwall; and grandmother, Glossie Northcutt of Emory.
He was preceded in death by his father; grandfathers, Farris Northcutt and Virgil Hall; and grandmother, Barbara Hayman.

Arthur Casebolt
Arthur Wayne Casebolt, 73, of Quinlan died Friday in Greenville.

He was born in Commerce, Okla., to William Lee and Florence Mae Frankum Casebolt.
He is survived by Clara Darat of Tyler and numerous nieces and nephews.
Louella McGinnis
Louella McGinnis, 90, of Garland died Saturday at Reunion Plaza in Tyler. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Humboldt Cemetery with Rev. Marvin McDaniel officiating.
She was born in Greenville to Edward and Dillie Attaway Steen. She married Rollin J. "Pat" McGinnis on Dec. 2, 1967, in Garland. She worked as an LTV electronic assembler. She was Methodist.
She is survived by her son, Johnny Sharp of Rockwall; daughter, Melba Naylor of Tyler; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, brother and three sisters.
Visitation is from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
