LEONARD - Funeral services for Harold Dean Grounds, 73, of Princeton will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel in Leonard with Charles Wrenn officiating. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery near Leonard. He died Tuesday at Medical Center of Plano.
He was born Dec. 7, 1927, in Leonard, the son of Charles Leonard Grounds and Zephyr Annis Grounds. He married Betty Cowan on May 22, 1948, in Trenton. Mr. Grounds retired from the Vought Corporation and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Princeton.
Survivors are his wife of Princeton; sons Harold Wayne Grounds of Princeton, Charles Grounds of Mansfield, Scott Grounds of Fort Worth, Bryon Grounds of Morgan and Lowell Grounds of Hamilton; daughters Lena McVay of Granbury, Carol Christenson of Hamilton and Rochelle George of McKinney; sisters Nadine Brewer of Rendon, Susie Deel of Trenton, Mada Ray Walker of Bonham and Euwana Godwin of Forney; brothers Zeke Grounds of Bonham and Bill Grounds of Denison; 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Nancy Gilreath
MESQUITE - Nancy Jenkins Gilreath, 46, of Mesquite, formerly of Greenville and Wolfe City, died Sunday at her home following a lengthy illness. Funeral services are at 2:30 p.m. today at Berean Baptist Church, 302 North Town East Boulevard, Mesquite, with Rev. David Mills and Tony Joe White officiating. Graveside services are at 4:30 p.m. at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville with Rev. Rick Blue officiating.
Daughter of Fred M. and Lillian Owens-Jenkins, she was born May 9, 1955, in Greenville. She graduated from Greenville High School and received her bachelor and master degrees in education from Texas A&M University in Commerce. She was a school teacher for 18 years and lived seven years in Wolfe City and 11 years in Mesquite. She was presently a principal at A.C. New Middle School. Mrs. Gilreath was a former member of Lamar Baptist Church and was an active member of Berean Baptist Church in Mesquite.
Survivors include her husband Keith Gilreath of Mesquite; her mother of Greenville; sons Nathan White of Mesquite and Tony Joe White and wife Merideth of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two sisters, Linda Ferrell of Australia and Mary Ann Kluttz of Greenville and brothers Fred Jenkins of Moore, Okla. and Bobby Jenkins of Tom Ball.

Ima Sparks
LONGVIEW - Ima Jewell Latham Sparks, 81, of Gunter died Sept. 29 at Hilltop Haven Nursing Home in Gunter. There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday at Prospect Baptist Church in Jefferson.
She was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Jefferson to Eugene Latham and Emma Latham. She was a hairdresser.
Survivors are two sons, Arthur James Phillips of Greenville and Larry Herman Phillips of Jefferson; eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Ollie Spruill
FARMERSVILLE - Ollie M. "Polly" Spruill, 99, of Farmersville died Monday at Hinton Nursing Home. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. today at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Rev. Bart Barber officiating.
Born May 15, 1902, in Farmersville, she was the daughter of J.E. Whitsell and Susy Rogers Whitsell. She was married to Hugh Spruill on Nov. 28, 1931, in Farmersville. Mrs. Spruill worked as a candy wrapper. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Emma Spruill and Mrs. Lucille Jackson, both of Farmersville and Mrs. Fay Neal of Dallas.

Lillian Turrentine
ODESSA - Lillian Lavina Turrentine, 85, of Odessa died Monday at Deerings Nursing Home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Pickton Cemetery in Pickton.
She was born July 20, 1916, in Greenville. Mrs. Turrentine moved to Odessa in 1994. She was a homemaker and she was a Baptist.
Surviving are three daughters, Glenice Turner of Benton, La., Zonaruth Covington of Gainesville and Neta Tiner of Odessa; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson I. Turrentine; a daughter, Beverly Turrentine and a son, Wayne Turrentine.

Alene McCullough
Alene A. McCullough, 85, of Greenville died Saturday in Greenville. Services are at 11 a.m. today at Johnson Street Church of Christ with Rick Henslee and Randy Daw officiating. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery.
Mrs. McCullough was born July 25, 1916, in Gober to James Harley Antwine and Ettie Elizabeth Jackson. She was married July 11, 1942, to Horace W. Hulsey, who died in 1965. She was remarried April 9, 1971, to O.G. McCullough, who died in 1985. Mrs. McCullough was a former clerk with the Soil Conservation Office in Greenville and a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James W. and Joanna Hulsey of Malverne, N.Y.; a step-son and wife, Larry and Carolyn McCullough of Greenville; three sisters, Frieda Bunch of Greenville and Beatrice Dupree and Juanita Russell of Shreveport, La.; four grandchildren, Robert and Emily Hulsey of Malverne, N.Y., Leah McCullough of Midland and Scott McCullough of Greenville and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by a brother, James Antwine.

Loyd McKinney
POINT - Funeral services for Loyd McKinney, 72, of Lone Oak are at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Point with Rev. Jimmy Shedd and Rev. J.B. Harlin officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. McKinney died Sunday at his residence.
He was born June 3, 1929, in Point to Lawrence Jarvis and Bonnie Cole McKinney. Mr. McKinney was a retired Rains County clerk and Rains County judge. He was retired from Texas Theater in Greenville. He had ministered for 54 years and was pastor of Shady Grove Baptist Church of Emory. Mr. McKinney was Rains County's first scoutmaster.
Surviving are a son, Jeff Davis of Lone Oak; two sisters, Rena Yarger of Sherman and Addie Hooker of Rockwall and two granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence McKinney and Joe David McKinney.

Robbie Reding
EMORY - Robbie Reding, 67, of Lone Oak died Saturday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Wyman officiating. Burial will be in Hooker Ridge Cemetery.
Daughter of George Franklin and Thelma Louise Gray Roberts, she was born March 22, 1934, in Hunt County. On April 25, 1949, she was married to Daniel LaFayette Reding in Lone Oak. Mrs. Reding was a homemaker and a member of Bois d'Arc Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Lone Oak; two daughters, Mary Anna Overstreet of Caddo Mills and Joyce Jones of Lone Oak; a brother, Jimmy Franklin Roberts of Point; sisters Vernie Louise Rogers of Emory and Annie Pearl Foreman of Emory, Maxie Lucille Vick of Terrell, Betty Sue Donaldson of Emory and Tommie Jean Colburn of Lone Oak; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Two brothers, Robert Dale and George Franklin Tabet Roberts preceded her in death.
Jesse Scott
FARMERSVILLE - Jesse Lloyd Scott, 69, of Farmersville died Sunday at North Central Medical Center in McKinney. Services are at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas at 10:30 a.m. today.
He was born Nov. 8, 1931, son of John M. Scott and Lucy C. Black Scott. Mr. Scott was a newsstand vendor.
A sister, Johnnie Donica of Farmersville, survives.

Alene McCullough

Kenneth Stewart
Kenneth M. Stewart, Lt. Col. (Retd.), 79, of Greenville, died Thursday at his residence. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Monday at Highland Terrace Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Layman and Rev. Bobby Renfro officiating. Burial will full military honors will be at Memoryland Memorial Park.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 28, 1922, he was the son of Francis Gray Stewart and Luella Miller Stewart. He married Ellen Russell in Lawton Okla. on Oct. 13, 1951. He retired from the U.S. Army after 26 years of service and then worked for E-Systems in the accounts payable division for 20 years. He was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church.
While in the Army, Stewart belonged to several military organizations, including the 35th Infantry Division in Germany, the 13th Army Security Field Station in England and the Defense Intelligence Agency at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
He also was the recipient of a dozen military awards, including the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Russell Stewart of Greenville; son Kenneth W. Stewart and wife Margie of Caddo Mills; daughters Michelle Zboralski and husband Dan of Manitowoc, Wis. and Debbie Stewart of Arlington; sisters, Mary Jane Petrash and husband Eddie of Thousands Oaks, Calif. and Beatrice Railing of Scottsburgh, Ind.; brother, Donald G. Stewart and wife Lois of Palmdale, Calif. and grandchildren Alina and Mallory Stewart of Caddo Mills.
Cecilia Bene'
CAMPBELL - Cecilia Ann Bene', 70, of Campbell, died Thursday in Greenville. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Commerce with Father Corcoran officiating. Burial will be in Brigham Cemetery in Campbell. Rosary will be 6 p.m. today at Pemberton Funeral Home.
Born in Dallas on July 6, 1931, she was the daughter of Frank and Pauline Culver Hereford. She married Troy E. Bene' in Dallas on Aug. 12, 1957.
Mrs. Bene' had lived in Campbell for two years, having moved from Dallas. She graduated from Forrest High School in Dallas and was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell for 10 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Commerce and past member of St. Phillips Catholic Church in Dallas.
She is survived by her husband, Troy Bene' of Campbell; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Joe Barsoum of Mesquite and Pam and Gerald Roberts of Rockwall; five sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Sherae Bene' of Allen, Scott and Pam Bene' of Mesquite, Chris Bene' of Campbell, Keith and Janeese Bene' of Allen and Kevin and Magda Bene' of Mesquite; three sisters, Sister Teresa Hereford of Fredricksburg, Mary Ruth Schmidt of Durant, Okla., and Karen Koller of Combine; five brothers, Frank Hereford Jr. of Arlington, John Hereford of Cheyenne, Wy., Bill Hereford of Bedford, Richard Hereford of Rochester, N.Y. and Anthony Hereford of Longview; 14 grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Donnie Flanagan
COMMERCE - Donnie Ray Flanagan, 40, of Commerce, died Thursday at a Commerce Hospital. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Commerce with Rev. David Savage officiating. Burial will be in Grundy Memorial Park.
Born in Commerce on Feb. 10, 1961, he was the son of Cleon and Varie Flanagan. He married Pamela Bailey in Commerce on Sept. 20, 1988. He was a laborer, a member of Mount Moriah Temple Baptist Church in Commerce and was a 1980 graduate of Commerce High School.
He is survived by his parents, Cleon and Varie Flanagan of Commerce; his wife, Pamela Flanagan of Commerce; five sons, Erwin Kincholow of Dallas, Tyson Shaw of Ladonia, and Chase Flanagan, Carvez Flanagan and Chance Flanagan, all of Commerce; a daughter, Pametria Bailey of Greenville; six sisters, Brenda Gadlin of Commerce, Sandra Flanagan, of Commerce, Rosie Bailey, of Commerce, Dorothy Crook of Sulphur Springs, Felicia Flanagan of Commerce, and Tyera Allen of Commerce; one brother, Cleon Flanagan Jr. of Oak Point; one grandmother, Louise Morrison; three grandchildren; two aunts and one uncle.
He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Amos Flanagan and Leo Morrison; and one grandmother, Amy Flanagan.

Eula Moore
IRVING - Eula Mae Moore, 92, of Irving, died Friday in Dallas. Funeral services are at 3 p.m. Monday at Rentfrow Funeral Home Chapel in Royse City with Rev. Buist Wilson and Hutson Johnson officiating. Burial will in the Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Born in Wise County on May 5, 1909, she was the daughter of John and Martha Jane Vaughn Martin. She was a seamstress for Gorden-Baron in Dallas.
She is survived by three daughters, Thadelua Moore of Irving, Joyce Blue of Rowlett and Shirley Walker of Dallas; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers include Dwayne Blue, Michael Blue, Justin Blue, Russell Walker, Melinda Fator and Darrel Hart.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 until 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
John Ross
AUGUSTA, Ga. - John L. Ross died Friday at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Ga. Graveside services with full military honors will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bellvue Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Terry Doss officiating.
Born in West Monroe, La., he had lived in Augusta since 1977. He retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years and was a Baptist. He also retired after 14 years with the civil service at Fort Gordon.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Ross of Augusta, Ga.; a son, John S. Ross; daughters, Linda Ross, Becky Compton and Debra Zayas; a sister, Judy Fortenberry of Greenville and five grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from noon until 1:30 p.m. at Poteet Funeral Home West Chapel in Augusta.
