Jack W. Shaw, 74, of Arlington, formerly of Greenville, died Monday morning at Arlington Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Baldridge officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Farmersville.
Son of Clifton Tilton Shaw and Alta Shrum Shaw, he was born Dec. 27, 1926, in Marlow, Okla. On Feb. 29, 1952, he married J. Elizabeth Nelson in Dallas. Mr. Shaw served in the U.S. Army. He was an electrical engineer and retired from General Motors. Mr. Shaw was a member of Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington and a Mason and Shriner.
Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife of Arlington; two sisters, Bonnie Dory of Marlow, Okla., and Rosemary Franklin of Columbus, Ga.; one grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Ray Shaw and Ronnie Shaw and one sister.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Dr. John Vallancey
Dr. John C. Vallancey, 81, longtime Greenville physician and civic leader, died Sunday morning at Spring Season Post Oak Care in Sherman. A memorial is scheduled at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Greenville at 10:30 a.m. today with Rev. Michael Woods officiating.
Son of John H. Vallancey and Lillian Crowder Vallancey, he was born Nov. 2, 1919, in Chicago, Ill. He married Bette Joan Makie in Superior, Wis., on Sept. 18, 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy.
He was a graduate of University of Illinois Medical School in Chicago in 1944. Dr. Vallancey moved to Greenville in January 1949 to begin practice with Dr. Joe Becton and he remained in Greenville until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and served as a Vestry member, choir member and lay reader. He was one of the organizers of the Greenville YMCA and was a former member and president of the Greenville Independent School District Board of Trustees
Dr. Vallancey is survived by his wife of Greenville; son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Laney Vallancey of North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; daughters and son-in-law Marsha and Don Strieber of Belton and Peggy Haire of Albuquerque, N.M.; grandchildren Kevin Pittman, Grant Pittman, Andrea Pittman, Jennifer Haire Rowland, Greg Haire, Seth Vallancey, Taylor Vallancey, Cory Strieber, Shana Whitstone and Shane Whitstone and great-grandchildren Lexus and Preston Pittman.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Memorial Fund and Alzheimer's Association of Northeast Texas Chapter.

Christine Alison Worful, 36, died Saturday in Dallas. A memorial service is scheduled at 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church of Sachse, 1520 Blackburn, with Rev. Marsha Engle Middleton officiating.
Surviving are two sons, Marcus Bryan Hix and William Allan Worful; a daughter Emily Anne Worful; mother and stepfather Jennifer and Charles Engle of Wolfe City; her father, Bill Allan of Dallas; twin sister Barbara Mann and sisters Susan Morley and Louise Williams; brother Mark Allan and stepsister Rev. Sammie Elliott
QUINLAN - Sammie Felton Elliott, 89, of Quinlan died Sunday at his home. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Quinlan Funeral Chapel with Rev. Gary Kuykendall and James Ralph Smith officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Center.
Mr. Elliott was born July 28, 1912, in Belton to Sammie Stiles and Annie Elizabeth Kelley Elliott. He was married Aug. 10, 1935 in Quinlan to Doris Annette Cornish. He was a retired service station owner and of the Assembly of God faith.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, LeRoy Elliott of Mesquite and Alvin Elliott of Quinlan; two brothers, Walter Scott Elliott of Wills Point and Ruben Doyle Elliott of Cecil, Ark.; a sister, Bretha Friddell of Van; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two brothers.

Orvil Ruff
CELESTE - Orvil L. "Jack" Ruff, 94, of Celeste died Sunday at the Leonard Nursing Home. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church in Celeste with Rev. Edward Lee officiating. Burial will be at the Celeste Cemetery.
Mr. Ruff was born Sept. 24, 1906, to Wilburn Lee and Florence Swindell Ruff. He was married Aug. 3, 1937, in Celeste to Alyne Aven. He was a member of the First united Methodist Church of Celeste and retired from Kraft Food Co. where he delivered milk for many years, was the fire chief of the Celeste V.F.D. and drove Celeste's first school bus.
He is survived by two brothers, George Ruff of Leonard and Billy Ray Ruff of Denison; two sisters, Lula Faye Elliott of Dallas and Johnnie Trammell of Houston; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home of Leonard.
Mabel Sebastian
JOSEPHINE - Mabel Joyce Sebastian, 80, of Josephine died Monday at her home. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Josephine with Revs. Bill Probasco, Steve Hudson and Brant O'Connor officiating. Burial will be at Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Mrs. Sebastian was born Sept. 4, 1920, in Farmersville to Robert L. and Adelia Morris Rickman. She was married Jan. 13, 1939, to W.S. Sebastian. She worked for Texas Instruments, Baylor Hospital, Collin Memorial Hospital and most recently at Country Clean Leather Care. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Josephine, a 50-year member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Josephine City Council.
She is survived by a sister, Ola Monette Rickman Bentley of Josephine and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Sanda Sebastian; five brothers and four sisters.
Pallbearers will be Donald Clinard, Bob Barrett, Robert Murray, G.C. Murray, Larry Rickman, Thomas Wayne Patterson, Randy Hargrave, and Tim Murray.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Rentfrow Funeral Home in Caddo Mills.
Charles Scotch
MERIT - Charles V. "Uncle V" Scotch, 68, of Merit died Sunday in a Fairfield hospital. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas with Father Tim Gollob officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Scotch was born May 18, 1933, in Dallas to Joseph and Maggie Teresa Digiglio Scotch. He worked in the family concession stand at the State Fair of Texas for many years. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church of Dallas and attended Wesley Enterprises in Greenville.
Surviving are brothers and sisters-in-law, Angelo and Martha Scotch of Denison, J.B. and Lana Scotch Jr., of Streetman and Jerry and Patty Scotch of Rowlett, and sisters and brothers-in-law Katherine Byers of Merit, Dee and John Kenyon of wills Point, Rose and Jerry Shelton of Alba and Joanne Scotch of Garland. He was preceded in death by sisters Theresa Dolores Scotch and Mary Laberta Scotch and a brother, Ernest Scotch.
Nephews will be pallbearers.

Melvin Tanton
Melvin V. Tanton, 92, of Greenville died Sunday afternoon at Briarcliff Health Center. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Park Cemetery with Rev. James Grider and David Roberts officiating.
Mr. Tanton was born Aug. 7, 1909, in Upshur County to William Washington and Carrie Zela Nelson Tanton. He was married April 28, 1928, to Zora Hilburn in the Piney Grove community. He was a cement contractor and a member of Family Fellowship Church.
Surviving are sons Melvin Tanton Jr. of Rockwall, Wayne Tanton of Waxahachie and David Tanton of Wills Point; daughters Margaret Fouse of Rockwall, Lisa Vestal of Mesquite and Linda Causey of Greenville; a brother, William "Bill" Washington Tanton Jr. of Terrell; sisters Gussie Faye Miller of Garland and Mary Jaunita Tanton of Greenville; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; two sons, a daughter, granddaughter, two great-grandsons, two brothers and two sisters.
Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Betty Boyett
Betty Jo Boyett, 62, of Greenville, died Friday. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Old Rock Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Melvin Schupp officiating.
Born in Somerset on Sept. 12, 1937, she was the daughter of Joseph Eve and Lois Finch. She married Bill Boyett in Somerset on Jan. 25, 1963. She had lived in the Greenville area for 10 years.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Sandra Davis of Greenville and a brother, Roy Eve of San Antonio, four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Melwood Cranfill
Melwood "Woody" Cranfill, 58, of Greenville died Saturday at his residence. Services are at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Vansickle Baptist Church.
Born in LaGrange, Ky. on March 17, 1943, he was the son of Melwood Cranfill and Mary Jessie Staley. He was an electrical mechanic/technician at Texas Instruments. He was a member of Vansickle Baptist Church who helped establish the New Life Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rosanna Cranfill of Greenville; sons Fred Allen Gillespie and wife Janie and James Scott Cranfill and wife Dee, both of Greenville; daughter Amanda Ilene Brown and husband Carl of Greenville; his mother Mary Jessie Abney of Milltown, Ind.; brothers Calvin C. Cranfill of Wendotte, Ind., Lyle W. Abney of Hartford, Ky., Vernon W. Abney of Campbellsville, Ky., Ralph S. Abney of Jerico, Ky. and Rodney G. Abney of Rockford Ill.; sisters Mary Ann Bloyd of Vine Grove, Ky. and Edna E. Walters of Lanesville, Ind.; grandchildren Justin W., Joshua A., and Jon M. Gillespie, Curtis, Lisa and Janie Lee Evans and one great-grandchild, Seth.

Delores Green
Delores Marie Green, 53, of Greenville, died Friday at her residence. Services are at 2 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Tom Ogden and Benny Chaffin officiating. Burial will be in Ridgeview Cemetery in McKinney.
Born in McKinney on Nov. 24, 1947, she married Ronald Green in Dallas on Aug. 19, 1989. She was the deputy clerk for the Hunt County Clerk's Office.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Green of Greenville; her father, Alfred Lopez of Dallas; her mother, Christeen Cisneros of McKinney; a son, Eric Kitchens of McKinney; daughters Tammy Haynes of McKinney and Audra Moore of Greenville; a stepdaughter, Dannis Green of Commerce; brothers Morris Aubrey Iverson of La Luz, N.M., Alfred Glenn Lopez of McKinney and Vincent Todd Cisneros of Corpus Christi; half-brothers John Lopez and David Lopez, both of Dallas; sisters Ellen Renee Judd of McKinney and Shelly Danielle Armstrong of Princeton and 13 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Fred Kitchens and by two brothers, Alvin Lopez and Jimmy Leon Lopez.
Pallbearers include Roger Maynard, Josh Boatman, Ricky Dean, Jess Jacobs, Wes Ireland and Jerry Don Dickeson. Honorary pallbearers include Ralph Green, Curtis Green and Jim Dickeson.
Lillian Harrell
IRVING - Lillian Harrell, 81, of Irving, died Thursday at a Dallas hospital. Services are at 3 p.m. today at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory with Rev. Montie Parker officiating. Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery.
Born in Rains County on Feb. 22, 1920, she was the daughter of George W. Alkire and Emma Jane Covington. She worked at Harber Fabrics for several years and was a Baptist.
She is survived by her son, Albert Earl Harrell of Irving; her daughter, Margaret Faye Oliver of Irving; her sister, Ima Wyatt of Lebanon, Ore.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers include Elbert Sutton, Chris Post, David Watkins, Preston Hogue, Jimmy Cooper and Jasper Northcutt.
James Perry
James Wesley Perry, 68, of Greenville, died Friday at a Dallas hospital. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery, with full military honors, under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Born in Wheatcroft, Ky. on Sept. 2, 1932, he was the son of Nathan C. Perry and Martha Drennon Perry. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a retired supervisor for the City of Dallas Parks and Recreation Department.
He is survived by his sons, James Wesley Perry of Longview and Tony Perry of Michigan; his daughter Debra Vavala of California; his brother, Donald Wayne Perry of Marion, Ky., his sister, Elizabeth Ann Freer of Morganfield, Ky. and several nieces and nephews.
Michael Henson
Michael Tyler Henson, 29, of Greenville died Aug. 24. A memorial service is set at 10:30 a.m. today at Kavanaugh United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his parents, Nancy and John Henson of Greenville; his brothers, John Henson Jr. and sister-in-law Kelly of Atlanta, and Bradley Henson of Wilmington, N.C.; grandmother Dorothy Henson of Greenville; aunts and uncles Bob and Kitty Henson of Raleigh, N.C., Jeannie and Ben Agee of Reno, Nev., Carolyn and Bob Norman of Reno, Nev., and Don and Verda Turner of Arlington; and cousins Kim, Dylan and Marley Bost, Addie, Sarah and Erin Lyle, Debbie Cleveland, Melinda Wallace, Rodney Wallace, Kerry Ingram, Kristy Hurley and Deke Turner.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather Robert Henson, and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Doyle Turner who lived in Commerce.

Don Moseley
WOLFE CITY - Donald Mack Moseley, 61, of Greenville died Wednesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville following a lengthy illness. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Barnett officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Born March 8, 1940, in Eustace, he was the son of Lawrence and Olean Hambrick Moseley. He and Linda Cooper were married Aug. 6, 1958, in Madill, Okla. Mr. Moseley was owner of the D&L Tire Shop. He attended Bethel Baptist Church in Greenville.
Mr. Moseley is survived by his wife of Greenville; his parents of Eustace; two daughters and son-in-law, Donna Wade of Magnolia and Lisa and Joel Robinson of Wolfe City; a son, Larry Moseley of Corpus Christi; three sisters, Christine Allen of Eustace, Patsy Weaver of Dallas and Susie Ward of Mesquite and nine grandchildren, Amanda, Daniel and Haley Wade; Jill, Jade and Jacy Robinson and Monica, Michael and Nicholis Moseley.
Pallbearers will be David Manley, J.R. Millsap, Derrell White, Jim Thomas, James "Bo" Moseley and Tommy Allen. Jim Bunch will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Pauline Peeler
DALLAS - Pauline Abbott Peeler, 90, of Dallas died Thursday. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Grove Hill Funeral Home East Chapel in Dallas with Rev. Jeff Bankhead officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Mound Cemetery.
She was born in Hunt County on Jan. 17, 1911 and grew up in Greenville. She moved to Dallas when she married.
Survivors include a son, Larry David Peeler; brother T. L. Abbot Jr.; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
