QUINLAN - Herbert William Whitt, 76, of Bonham died Monday in Bonham. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Blair, Okla. Burial will be in Brian, Okla.
He was born in Blair, Okla. on Sept., 2, 1921, son of John and Irene Hubbard Whitt. He served in the Army and Air Force during World War II and was wounded in France; he received the Purple Heart. Mr. Whitt worked at Tinker Air Force in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Surviving are two brothers, Olen Whitt of Quinlan and James Whitt of Seattle, Wash. and one sister, Eva Akins of Oregon.
He was preceded in death by J.C. Whitt, Connie Whitt, Lucille Northington and Gladis Coffman.

Ollie Asbill
EMORY - Ollie Asbill, 80, of Bonanza died Monday at her home. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory. Rev. Dwain Goodson and Rev. Larry Maynard will officiate. Burial will be in Elm Cemetery.
She was born in Rains County on Aug. 5, 1917 to Johathan Ervin Potts and Nettie Richards Potts. She married I.V. Asbill on July 29, 1936 in Daugherty. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Asbill was a Baptist and she was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church Quilting Club.
Surviving are her husband of Bonanza; a son, Dwain Asbill of Bonanza; a daughter, Barbara Hall of Emory; two brothers, Gerald Potts of Chandler and Lloyd Potts of Emory; three sisters, Grace Slater of Bonanza, Bobbie Sloan of Sulphur Springs and Joyce Blanton of Emory; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Asbill, Bill Potts, Ronald Blanton, Mike Hutchins, James Ratliff and Jed Adams.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ralph Baldridge
GRAND PRAIRIE - Graveside services for Ralph Vernon Baldridge, 77, of Grand Prairie will be at 10 a.m. today at Moore's Cemetery in Arlington.
He was born Oct. 7, 1920 in Honey Grove to Dewey Raymond and Roxie Williamson Baldridge. He moved to Greenville in 1933 where he grew up. He married Anne Jeup in 1945 in Germany; she preceded him in death in October, 1980. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Ralph Baldridge II of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Bob Baldridge of Grand Prairie; one daughter, Becky Baldridge Barnett of Arlington; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and one brother, Rev. Robert Baldridge of Greenville.

John Wallace
HASKELL - John Worth Wallace, 86,of Haskell died Sunday at a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church with Roy Herricks and Dr. Troy Culpepper officiating. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery.
He was born April 16, 1911 in Campbell and moved to Haskell County in 1932 where he was a farmer-stockman. He married Jewell Lea Scott on July 5, 1941 in Beaumont. They later moved to Port Arthur where he worked in the shipyards until 1943. He was a supporter of the Texas Cowboy Reunion and was a lifetime member of the Old Timer's Association. He was a rodeo contestant from 1932 until 1980, winning various events and rewards. Mr. Wallace was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of Haskell; two sons, J.W. Wallace Jr. and Kenneth Ray Wallace, both of Haskell; three daughters, Opal Lea Furrh of Victoria, Lowell Anne Baker of Haskell and Juliejohn Knott of Germany; two brothers, Rafe Wallace of Lone Oak and Glenn Wallace of Campbell; two sisters, Opal Atkisson of California and Lena Mays of Greenville; 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Leroy Childs
QUINLAN - Leroy V. Childs, 88, of Carrollton died Thursday at Rockwall Nursing Home. Graveside services will be at the Quinlan I.O.O.F. Cemetery at 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. David Hammonds officiating.
Born in Wills Point on Dec. 9, 1909, he was the son of Thomas and Nettie Childs. He married Gladys Merle McIntosh on May 22, 1934 in Greenville. He worked in steel construction. Mr. Childs was a member of the First Baptist Church in Quinlan. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge in Canton.
Surviving are his wife of Rockwall; two sons, Larry Childs of Carrollton and Bobbie Childs of Irving; a sister, Alverta Hargroves of Canton and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Childs and Aubrey Childs and two sisters, Dennith Dolezar and Clara Pirtle.
Visitation is from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home.
George Frank
TYLER - George Melvin Frank, 85, of Tyler died Thursday at his home. Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel in Tyler with Michael Wright officiating. Burial will be in Tyler Memorial Park.
He was born in Greenville on Jan. 8, 1912; he moved to Tyler in 1934. He retired from George Bains Tractor Co. and owned Frank's Food Store from 1949 to 1965. Mr. Frank was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Irene Frank, of Tyler; two daughters, Eloise Porter of Corsicana and Melodese Steele of Tyler; a brother, Lloyd Frank of Dallas; two sisters, Glady Haney of Greenville and Thelma Caraway of Tyler; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Haney, Leon Sumpter, Robert Haney, Wayne Little, Johnny Little and Ed Wilbanks.

COMMERCE - Sarah Elizabeth Mills, 82, of Commerce, died Thursday at the Carriage House Manor in Sulphur Springs. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church in Commerce with Rev. Mike House officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
Daughter of George Ennis Tittle and Linnie Simmons Tittle, she was born Aug. 17, 1915 in Mt. Vernon. She married Dale Norman Mills on May 18, 1935 in Mt. Vernon. She received her master's degree from East Texas State College in 1963 and she was a retired elementary school teacher. Mrs. Mills was a Gold Star Mother and had been honored by the Captain Charles Croxall Chapter of DAR. She was a member of the Guild United Methodist Women and a member of First United Methodist Church, Commerce.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Anne Mills of Commerce; a daughter, Elaine Eklund of Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren Mason Mills of Stafford, Clayton Mills of Denton, Melanie Mills-Skapinsky and husband, Tony, of Managua, Nicaragua; sister-in-law Dorothy Tittle Brewer of Sulphur Springs and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984; a brother, J.E. Tittle n 1983; a son, James Dale Mills in 1968 and an infant daughter.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mason Mills, Clayton Mills, Charles Allard, Jerry Tittle, Don Mills and Jim Patton.

Annie Penney
COMMERCE - Annie Bell Penny, 83, of Commerce died Thursday at Oak Manor Nursing Home in Commerce. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. today at West Memorial Cemetery in Quinlan with Dr. Bobby Tollison officiating.
She was born in Grannis, Ark. on Dec. 14, 1913 to George Patrick Murphy and Allice Rebecca Perkins. She and Walter Penny were married on Feb. 18, 1929 in Broken Bow, Okla. She worked as a nurse's aide at the former Guest House Nursing Home in Greenville.
She is survived by a daughter, Lillie Fite of Commerce; three sons, Vernon Penny of Nacogdoches, Bill Penny of Gillett, Ark. and Marvin Penny of Mena, Ark.; a brother, Bill Murphy of Oklahoma; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968 and a daughter, Ruby Nell Alexander in 1995.
Rodney Hyatt, Marvin Ray Penny, Jack Hobbs Jr., Mike Speir, Jerry Penny and James Hobbs will serve as pallbearers. Richard Potts and Terry Bishop will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Thomas Chadwick
Thomas Clay Chadwick, of Terrell died Wednesday at Terrell Community Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be Shady Grove Cemetery.
He was born Feb. 24, 1899 in Salem, Mo. to Thomas Chadwick and Maggie Crenshaw Chadwick. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Chadwick was a self-employed carpenter. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Billie Chadwick of Irving; two daughters, Barbara Helms of Houston and Shirley Spears of Virginia; 12 grandchildren; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were two sons, Thomas Chadwick and Robert Chadwick.

Grady Farmer
CADOO MILLS- Grady Mack Donald Farmer of Caddo Mills died Tuesday at his home. Funeral services were at 2 p.m Thursday at the Full Gospel Assembly Church in Caddo Mills with Rev. Richard Ham officiating. Burial was in Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
He was born in Hunt County on Nov. 11, 1918 to Mack Donald Farmer and Margaret Kluttz. He married Juanita Norris on Feb. 14, 1997 in Hendrix. He was a farmer. Mr. Farmer was a member of Full Gospel Assembly Church.
Survivors include his wife of Caddo Mills; two daughters, Mary Ann McMahan and Bonita McGinn of Caddo Mills; a brother, Paul Farmer of Caddo Mills; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were an infant son, seven brothers, five sisters and one granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Rex King, Phil King, Billy Burkett, John McMahan, Don McKenzie and Rick Martin.

Lois Goodwin
COMMERCE - Lois Elatia Goodwin of Commerce died Thursday in Dallas. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pemberton Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bobby Tollison and Rev. Keith Boone. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery.
She was born on Feb. 4, 1910, in Hunt County to Joe Dan and Nettie Hoyle Green Freeman. She married Duard Barney Goodwin in Hunt County in 1930 and he preceded her in death in 1973. She was a lifetime resident of Hunt County and was a seamstress at several clothing companies in Commerce, Greenville and Cooper. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Survivors are a son, Joe Lee Goodwin of Commerce; a brother, Lewis Freeman of Commerce and a niece, Margaret Ann Ferrell of Dallas.
Pallbearers will be Danny Imhof, Jonas Lucckey, Jonathan Luckey, Dave Carwell, Ronnie Wooten, Donnie Wooten and Gene Castleberry.

Bob Lemons
WOLFE CITY - Robert F. "Bob" Lemons of Wolfe City died Wednesday. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home with Dwight Gardner officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Wolfe City.
Born in Fairlie on Aug. 10, 1926, he was the son of Albert S. and Nettie Craig Lemons. He was a retired machinist for an engineering company. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are a son, Robert Logan Lemons of Carrollton; a brother, Hoyle Lemons; three sisters, Freda Richardson, Verna Mae Sigmon and Nell Duncan, all of Wolfe City and two grandsons, Matthew Logan Lemons of Dallas and Micah Wayne Lemons of Plumb.
Pallbearers will be Jack Butler, Kenneth Woodruff, Leon Brady, Edward Shaffer, Henry Brown and Rex White. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe R. Hill and E.M. Howard.

Martin Peebles
Martin E. Peebles of Greenville died Thursday at Wilson-Jones Hospital in Sherman. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jackie Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Pecan Gap Cemetery.
He was born in Kingston on July 18, 1921 to Ernest Lemuel Peebles and Nettie Lee Humphries. He and Mary Lou Prater were married in Carrollton in 1974. He retired from the City of Greenville Street Department; he was a farmer and was owner of Peebles Bait Shop. Mr. Peebles was a member of Sandy Lake Baptist Church of Coppell.
He is survived by his wife of Greenville and a sister, Doris Ingram of Lancaster.
His father preceded him in death in 1959 and his mother in 1972.
Pallbearers will be David Bridges, Willie Dowell, David Cantrell, Roger Timberlake, Alton Timberlake and Neal Parrott.
Ina Wright
CADDO MILLS - Ina Ruth Wright, 65, of Royse City died Thursday in Dallas. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Royse City with Rev. George McCain and Rev. Bob Baldridge officiating. Burial will be in the Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
She was born in Caddo Mills on Oct. 2, 1932 in Caddo Mills, daughter of O.B. Ingram and Lucille Cooper Ingram. She married Jimmy Wright in Royse City on April 1, 1950. She worked as a fabric supervisor for Wal-Mart.
She is survived by her father; a son, Jimmy Jo Wright of Tawakoni; two daughters and sons-in-law, Debby and Charles Castleberry of Greenville and Janet and Eddie Don Nichol of Royse City; a sister, Linda Love of Caddo Mills and grandchildren Jason and Michelle Nichol of Bentonville, Ark., Justin Nichol of Garland and Janie Nichol of Royse City, Aaron Castleberry of Nachogdoches and Heather Castleberry of Greenville.
Her husband preceded her in death on July 3, 1997.

Lillian Ermler
LONE OAK - Lillian B. Ermler, 72, of Lone Oak died Monday at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today in Redeemer Lutheran Church in Greenville with Rev. Clayton McCord and The Rev. Brenda Kroll officiating. Burial is at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Mrs. Ermler was born March 1, 1925, in Houston to Frank and Amelia Wacker Blaner. She was married to Henry Ermler on June 26, 1943, in San Antonio.
She was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and served for several years as a foster mother. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Surviving are a son, Henry "Hank" Ermler Jr. of Lone Oak; daughter, Dawn Musser of Lake Oswago, Ore.; sisters, Gertrude Machost of Lone Oak and Margie Ross of Chandler, Ariz.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 30, 1985.
