DeArmond Batie Sr. of Greenville died Friday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. today at Church of the Living God with Merle Jones officiating. Burial is in East Mount Cemetery.
The son of Ed and Robbie Donaldson Batie, he was born Sept. 16, 1919 in Greenville. He and Johnnie Mae Venters were married in Greenville in October 1942. He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Batie was a retired postal clerk. He was a member of Church of the Living God.
Survivors include four daughters, Sherry Batie and Rita Stewart of Garland, Beverly Batie of Dallas and Adda Batie of Houston; a daughter-in-law, Catherine Batie of Fort Worth; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; two sons, one daughter, one sister and two grandchildren.
Marie DeCarlo
WOLFE CITY - Marie S. DeCarlo, 67, of Wolfe City died Saturday at her home. A rosary is set for 4 p.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stanley Corcoran officiating.
Mrs. DeCarlo was born July 31, 1930, in Inglewood, Calif. She was married to Ceasar P. DeCarlo on April 23, 1950, in Yuma, Ariz. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Surviving are a son, Michael DeCarlo of Portland, Ore.; five daughters, Estrellita Pearson of Idaho, Olga Cooper of Quinlan, Renee DeCarlo of Denver, Colo., Lisa Boals of Las Vegas, Necv. and Yvonne DeCarlo of Wolfe City; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother and three sisters.
Patrick Earl Sr.
Patrick H. Earl Sr. of Greenville died Jan. 21 at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at East Mount Cemetery. Rev. Ronald Davis will officiate.
Son of Pat and Fannie Arnold Earl, he was born in Longview on April 10, 1912. He married Jeffire Burks in Dallas. Mr. Earl was a shipping clerk. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by a son, Patrick Earl Jr. of Greenville; two stepdaughters, Linda Stevens and Lajoyce Harper of Dallas; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
Friends will serve as pallbearers.

EMORY - Ralph C. Hancock, 80, of Emory died Monday at Green Acres Nursing Home in Emory. Funeral services are at the Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Kenneth Ishmael officiating. Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery.
He was born in Midlothian on Dec. 15, 1918 to Vernon and Lottie Matthews Hancock. He and Bobbie Gray were married in Duncanville in 1956. Mr. Hancock was a self-employed auto mechanic. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife of Emory; three daughters, Jayne Nutt of Emory, Jeanie Bartlett of Duncanville and Judy Adcock of Cleburne; two sisters, Virginia Vinyard of Arlington and Billie McAlliser of Richardson, Va.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be R.J. Nutt, Bill Nutt, David Nutt, David Supert, Wayne Luckett and Robert Welch.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Marie Hamilton Page of Greenville died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kelly Carr officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Daughter of J.W. Wherry and Berta Reynolds Wherry, she was born in Royse City on Nov. 6, 1924. She grew up with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Curtis. She married C.A. "Pat" Hamilton on Dec. 11, 1945; he preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 1973. On April 6, 1979 she married Cecil Carl Page who died April 15, 1988.
Mrs. Paige was a clerk with Southwestern Bell Telephone, retiring after 38 years of service. She was a member of Dixon Baptist Church.
Survivors include friend, Jack Renfroe of Greenville; a niece, Sherry Edgemon of Newark; cousin Audrey Curtis of Greenville and three great nieces.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her aunt and uncle, a brother, a sister and an infant son.
Pallbearers are David Hamilton, Bobby Pickle, Vernon Mays, Clovis Emerson and C.B. Pickle.
Memorials may be made to charity of donor's choice.

L.C. Ballard of Greenville died Sunday at Park Haven Nursing Center. Services are at 11 a.m. today at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with his sons, Rev. James Ballard and Rev. Kenneth Ballard, officiating. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Caddo Mills.
He was born on June 8, 1917, in Wood County to A.B. and Florence Alice Robson Ballard. He married Dasie Nelson on Oct. 8, 1938, in Greenville. Mr. Ballard was retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad as a section foreman after 39 1/2 years. He was also self-employed. He was a member of the House of Prayer in Greenville.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law James A. and Betty Ballard of Farmers Branch, Kenneth L. and Shirley Ballard of Wolfe City and William and Bonnie Ballard of Grapevine; daughters and sons-in-law Jane A. and Bobby Wolfe, Dasie Mae Daugherty and Alice Fae Dickeson of Greenville; sister and brother-in-law Mary Helen and Robert Marks of Fort Gibson, Okla.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife on July 15, 1970 and a sister, Winnie D. Bailey.
Pallbearers are Earl Little, John Denny, Shawn Earle, William Ballard Jr., Dan Rhoades, Larry Paul Bailey, and Gary Bailey. Danny Crenshaw will serve as honorary pallbearer.

CADDO MILLS - Havert Garland Head, 82, of Caddo Mills died Sunday at Lake Pointe Medical Center.. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today at Rentfrow Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Winslow officiating. Burial is in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Mr. Head was born Jan. 8, 1916, in Greenville; the son of Chester Leon and Effie Hughes Head. He was married in 1938 to Bessie Lorene Plumber. A retired carpenter, he was a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are a daughter, Byneta Head of Caddo Mills; brother, Earnest Head of Henderson; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996.
Pallbearers are Larry Head, Keith Head, Mark Gurley, Gary Fleetwood and Gary Plumber.

WOLFE CITY - Lavonia "Vona" Lucille Parsons, 81, of Wolfe City died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home with Sammy Dodd officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
She was born May 1, 1916 in Wolfe City to James Adam and Alice Robinson Stailey. She married William Houston Parsons on Nov. 30, 1946 in Greenville. Mrs. Parsons was a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Ladonia.
Surviving are a son, Bradley Parsons of Dallas; two sisters, Florence Stailey and Christine Rhoades of Wolfe City and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1987.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born July 2, 1910 in Barnett to William and Etta Vernon Smith. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lila Webb of Cedar Hill; a sister, Mandy Tennison of Farmersville; a brother, Eugene Smith of Farmersville; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.

Cheryl Ann Wood of Greenville died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Peters Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Hamm officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Born March 9, 1950 in Fort Worth, she was the daughter of Harold Frank Katchinksa and Marjorie Dowdy Katchinska. She worked at Briarcliff Nursing Center in laundry. She was a member of Southside Church of Christ.
She is survived by her ex-husband, Joseph Wood of Greenville; her mother of Greenville; two sons, Joseph Bennett Wood Jr. of Dallas and Daniel Keith Wood of Greenville; a daughter, Angela Faith Wood of Greenville; and two brothers, Harry Lynn Katchinska of Greenville and Richard Earl Katchinska of Sulphur Springs.
Her father preceded her in death.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Katchinska, Andy Katchinska, Pat Fox, Rusty Fox, Larry Sandlin and Andy Priest.

LEONARD - Funeral services for Ordie Tarpley St Clair, 86, of Leonard are at 2:30 p.m. today in the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, Leonard, with Charles Wrenn officiating. Burial is in Arledge Ridge Cemetery.
She died Sunday in the Terrell Care Center.
Born Oct. 9, 1911 in Leonard, she was the daughter of William Estle Taylor and Mollie Head Taylor. She and Ernest Tarpley were married Nov. 16, 1930 in Durant, Okla. He died May 15, 1967. She married Geral Ray St Clair on Aug. 8, 1972 in Leonard; he died Oct. 16, 1994. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Leonard and she was a retired tax collector for the Leonard Independent School District.
She is survived by one sister, Oleta Green of Terrell and several nieces and nephews.

LEONARD - Graveside services for Maybel Gary, 92, of Leonard and formerly of San Angelo will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Leonard Cemetery with Rev. Charles Wrenn officiating. Mrs. Gary died Sunday in the Leonard Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 20, 1905, in Orangeville to Mr. and Mrs. John W. Mayes. She married Raz Gary in September of 1956 and he died in 1984. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Gertrude Meda Thomas of Farmersville died Saturday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Graveside services will be at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in DeSoto at 3 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Steve Jester officiating.
She was born Sept. 22, 1915, in Hobart, Okla., to Homer and Lillie Bellnap Imhoff. She married Robert Thomas on June 7, 1938, in Dallas. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge 144 of Greenville and was a Baptist.
Surviving are two sons, Larry W. Thomas of Dallas and David E. Thomas of Midlothian; daughters Ann Harvey of Farmersville and Linda Claude of Lakewood Village; a sister, Leona McNutt of Dallas; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother and four sisters.
