SHERMAN - Loudene Middleton, 81, of Pottsboro died Tuesday at her home. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday at the Lakeway United Methodist Church in Pottsboro with The Rev. Cathy Bingman and the Rev. Daniel Thuma officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery of Hopkins County at 2 p.m.
She was born Oct. 5, 1916, eldest daughter of James Clifton and Buena Covington Huff. She married Rondol Middleton in 1933 in Oklahoma. She had lived in Pottsboro for 16 years, moving there after retiring from E-Systems of Greenville with 31 years' service. Mrs. Middleton was a member of Lakeway United Methodist Church and The Sunshine Club.
Surviving are one son, Joe D. Middleton of Pottsboro; two sisters, Bobbie G. Thuma and Peggy Nicholson, both of Longview; two granddaughters; two great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband preceded her in death in September 1963.
Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Hunter, Greg Moore, Chuck Martin, Mike Nicholson, Larry Quinn and Dusty Vaden. Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Koschelew and Bill Evans.
Visitation is from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.
Bernice Nolen
FARMERSVILLE - Bernice Nolen, 84, of Dallas died Wednesday in DeSoto. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Fielder-Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Herbert Pederson officiating. Burial will be in the Farmersville I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
She was born in Greenville on Feb. 10, 1910, daughter of David A. and Martha Cawthorn Nelson. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Nolen was a member of Wynnewood Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Allen of DeSoto; a sister, Pauline Cox of Elmo; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Clinton Trimble
EMORY - Clinton Trimble of Emory died Wednesday at Green Acres Nursing Home in Emory. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home of Emory. Rev. Danny Trimble and Rev. J.M. Barksdale will officiate. Burial will be in Emory City Cemetery.
He was born in Fort Worth on March 29, 1909 to Moses Elbert and Oma Carolyn Slider Trimble. He married Dollie Luckett on Sept. 4, 1926 in the Flats community. He was a farmer and a carpenter. Mr. Trimble was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of Emory; sons Billy Trimble of Point, Floyd Trimble of Dallas, Jimmy Trimble of Irving and Leo Trimble of Big Sandy; two daughters, Wanda Traylor of Emory and Sandra Stone of Emory; a brother, Archie Stuart of Brackettville; two sisters, Juanita Lyles of Dallas and Alma Hays of Wylie; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be David Traylor, Gary Stone, Randy Traylor, Bobby Trimble, Keith Trimble and Jerry Stone. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Terry Stone and Curtis Trimble.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Samuel Pitts Jr.
Samuel Edgar Pitts Jr., 76, of the Cash community died Tuesday at Medical Center of Mesquite. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Friday at the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clyde Causey and Rev. James Nichols officiating. Burial will be in the Quinlan I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Son of Samuel Edgar Pitts Sr. and Nettie Westmoreland, he was born in Burkburnett on Oct. 18, 1921. He married Rosie Callaway on March 15, 1941 in Arkadelphia, Ark. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Pitts was a retired truck driver with the Cotton Belt Railroad.
He is survived by two sons, Thomas E. Pitts of Garland and Gary E. Pitts of Cash; two daughters, Gloria Green and Glenna Tucker, both of Mesquite; a brother, Kennard Pitts of Cash; five sisters, Bernice Hendricks of El Dorado, Ark., Jean Couch of Norphlet, Ark., Winifred White of El Dorado, Ark., Juanola Neal of Hope, Ark. and Mary Ann Stroop of Shreveport, La.; 11 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His wife preceded him in death on Oct. 18, 1997.
Pallbearers will be Joel Pitts, Jeremy Pitts, Jonathan Oland, Ryan Oland, Denny Pitts and Jason Pitts.
Johnnie McAree
EMORY -Johnnie McAree, 86, of Alba died Thursday at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel in Emory with Rev. Bob Evans and Rev. William Potts officiating. Burial is in Colony Cemetery.
He was born in Rains County on June 2, 1911, son of John and Cora Wright McAree. He married Thelma Panter McAree on Jan. 3, 1933 in Rains County. He was a rancher and a farmer. Mr. McAree was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Gary and Stanley McAree, both of Alba; a daughter, Johnnye Easley of Emory; two brothers, Olen and Oval McAree, both of Alba; a sister, Lennie Hudgins of Emory; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
His wife preceded him in death on June 1, 1994.
Pallbearers are Mike McAree, Clent McAree, Brett McAree, Donald McAree, Truett Fenter and Shannon White.
Rafe Wallace
Rafe H. "Red" Wallace, 96, of Lone Oak died at his residence Thursday. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Dixon Baptist Church with Rev. Kelly Carr officiating. Burial is in Forest Park Cemetery.
Son of Jack Wallace and Zella Rowsey Wallace, he was born in Hunt County on Sept. 6, 1901. He and Mary Emma Barnett were married on Sept. 23, 1944 in Lone Oak. He was co-founder of Lone Oak State Bank in 1969 and was former director of that bank.
Mr. Wallace was a well known farmer and rancher in Hunt County. He was a former Hunt County Farmer Emeritus Award recipient, a member of Texas Southwest Cattle Raisers Association, and the American Quarter Horse Association.
He is survived by a daughter, Mary Rafe Wallace of Lone Oak; a brother, Glenn Wallace of Campbell; two sisters, Lena Mays of Greenville and Opal Atkisson of Fallbrook, Calif.; grandchildren Rafe Ann Stone of Bentonville, Ark., Danny Bolch Jr. of Garland and Mary Beth Bolch of Garland and great-grandchildren Bethany Marie Stone, Channing Noel Stone, and Madeline Elaine Stone, all of Bentonville, Ark.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Jan. 5, 1968; brothers Coleman Wallace, Benton Wallace, Claude Wallace and John Wallace and a sister, Ruby Wallace.
Pallbearers are Gerald Williams, Jimmy Williams, Eric Evans, Ray Love, Curtis Fuller, Glen Spoonemore, Eddie Stonestreet and Chester Jackson. Paul Mathews will serve as honorary pallbearer.

Alma Wooldridge
ROCKWALL - Alma E. Wooldridge, 78, of Royse City died Friday. Graveside services are at 11 a.m. today at Rest Haven Memorial Park .
She was born July 14, 1919, in Rockwall County.
Surviving are a sister, Alta Gale; niece, Arbyree Seabolt of Mesquite; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Wooldrdige of Royse City.
She was preceded in death by her son, Don Wooldridge.
Rest Haven Funeral Home of Rockwall is in charge of the services.
Rodgers Jackson
Rodgers Jackson of San Antonio died Jan. 10 at a San Antonio hospital. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Prairie Grove Baptist Church in Emory with Rev. Willie Byrd officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Grove Cemetery.
He was born in Emory on Oct. 8, 1915 to Levi and Rosetta White Jackson. He married Willie Wilburn on Dec. 24, 1940 in Wichita Falls. He was a retired construction worker. Mr. Jackson was a Baptist.
Surviving are two sons, Hernandez Jackson of Wichita Falls and Mark Jackson of Dallas; four daughters, Peggy Wade of Wichita Falls, Gail Todd of San Antonio, Jacqueline Young of Houston and Karen Stuckey of Dallas; a sister, L.T. Morris of Menlo Park, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, a sister and a brother.

Varice "Barbecue Man" Monday of Greenville died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Supt. John E. Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Grundy Memorial Park.
Son of Buster and Precious J. Johnson Monday, he was born in Mt. Pleasant on April 18, 1932. He was an auto body repairman. Mr. Monday was a Baptist.
Survivors include friend, Jewel Williams; five sons, Varice Monday Jr. of Fort Worth, Samuel Monday of Douglasville, Ronnie Monday of Lubbock, and Billy R. Monday and Gary D. Monday, both of Greenville; two daughters, Annie Ruth Monday of Greenville and Valarie Monday of Texarkana; two stepdaughters, Bennie V. Chatman of Texarkana and Kathy Roberson of Marietta; five brothers, Artis Monday, Lawrence Monday, Billy D. Monday, R.T. Monday and Roy D. Monday, all of Dallas and six sisters, Vernice Linwood, Doris Monday, and Annette Stiggers, all of Dallas, Vernell Darden of Garland, and Charlie R. Clark and Beverly Redwine, both of Farmersville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son and a daughter.

Dorothy Hall
WINNSBORO - Dorothy Louise Hall, 68, of Winnsboro died Tuesday in a Winnsboro hospital. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. today at Cypress Cemetery with Rev. Michael Wyatt officiating.
Mrs. Hall was born Sept. 9, 1929, in Winnsboro; the daughter of Roy and Lola Lindley Dickey. She was married to Arthur Hall on May 29, 1947. A former Dallas resident, she was a Pentacostal.
Surviving are her husband of Winnsboro; son, Jimmy Hall of Chandler; and sister, Linda Stanford of Greenville. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Larry Hall, in September, 1981.

Cecil Tatum
POINT - Cecil Tatum, 81, of Quinlan, died Tuesday at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Woosley Cemetery in Point with Rev. Jimmy Rose officiating.
Born in Dallas on Jan. 23, 1917, he was the son of Bonny C. and Nora Ellen Criswell Tatum. He married Francis L. Ross Tatum. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Tatum was a truck driver.
He is survived by his wife; five sons, Bonny Tatum of Dallas, Robert Tatum of Frankson, Jerry Tatum of Lufkin, Dean Tatum of Quinlan and Harvey Tatum of Cash; a daughter; Cecila Grisham of Red Oak; one sister, Irene Horton of Point; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Tatum in 1978 and two brothers, Buster Tatum and Buddy Tatum.

QUINLAN - Betty Booker Taylor, 74, of Quinlan died Tuesday in Terrell. Funeral services are at the Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Friday. Burial is in Brigham Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 23, 1924 in England, daughter of Bernard and Bertha Follett Booker. She married Gene O. Taylor in Walsall, Eng. on Oct. 26, 1945. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of Quinlan; a son, Michael Gene Taylor of Colorado; daughters Janine Reed of Lone Oak and Terri Bonney of Virginia; a sister, Pat Hathaway of England and ten grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Peter Loren Taylor; a brother, Bernard Booker and a sister, Eunice Arm.

James Beasley
QUINLAN- James Odell Beasley, 73, of West Tawakoni died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ben Smith officiating. Burial will be in Cumby Cemetery.
Son of Homer and Buela Tarrant Beasley, he was born April 4, 1924 in Cumby. He married Katie F. Hall. Mr. Beasley served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, James R. Beasley of Anahuac and Mike Beasley of Greenville; a sister, Theda Marks of Garland; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, L.M. Beasley in 1971 and Alton Beasley.
Mary Covert
TEXARKANA - Mary Lou Covert, 63, of Texarkana, formerly of Greenville, died Monday in a local hospital. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church, Moores Lane, with Dr. Terry Land and Rev. Larry Sims officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
She was born Jan. 28, 1934 in Dallas. Mrs. Covert and her husband lived in Greenville during the years 1965-67. She was a homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was an outreach leader of the Golden Circle Sunday School Class, a youth Sunday School teacher and an honorary Life Member of the PTA Mrs. Covert had worked with the Boy and Girl Scouts, and she was a former member of the Wadley Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband Jim Covert; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jim Jr. and Bonita Covert of Red Lick and Kirk and Sonya Covert of Texarkana; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Jim Richardson of Carrollton; one brother, William T. Kirk of Dallas; two sisters, Margie Howard of Garland and Norma Jean Dobbs of Alief; seven grandchildren, Adam Covert, Tina Covert, Kelli Fountain, Summer Fountain, Courtney Cruce, Ben Cruce and Mimi Richardson and four great-grandchildren.
