Harry Bullard

QUINLAN - Harry Fynn Bullard, 81, of Lone Oak died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church of Quinlan with Rev. Larry Krohn officiating.

Mr. Bullard was born May 2, 1916, in Chickamauga, Ga.; the son of James and Reo Smallwood Bullard. He served in the U.S. Army. He was the owner of Bullard Florist and past president of Texas State Florist Association.

Surviving are daughters, Carol Embry of Burleson and Sandy Lee of East Tawakoni; sister, Polly Eledge of Etowah, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jennifer Higgins of Minot Air Force Base, N.D., Shana Lee of East Tawakoni; Cheryl Butler of Tyler; Keri Embry of Burleson; great-grandchildren, Joshua Higgins and Jordan Higgins of Minot AFB, N.D.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, J.C. Bullard and Bill Bullard; sister, Geneva Shirley; and one grandson, Shay Lee.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, American Cancer Association or Children's Hospital of Dallas.

Robert Burrow

There is a graveside service for Robert Edward Burrow, 56, of Greenville at 11 a.m. Thursday at Forest Park Cemetery. Rev. Kelly Carr will officiate.

He died Friday at his residence.

Born June 29, 1941 in Whitewright, he was the son of Robert C. Burrow and Pauline Head Burrow. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Burrow was a Sexton for the City of Greenville cemeteries. He was a Baptist.

Surviving are two brothers, Albert Burrow of Whitehouse and Paul W. Burrow of Weston and a sister, Barbara Overstreet of Collinsville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.

Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Malcolm Dukes

Malcolm Dale Dukes of Dallas died Friday in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services aree at 2 p.m. Thursday in Mount Elem Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Hood officiating. Burial is in Grundy Memorial Park.

He was born in Greenville on Oct. 1, 1958, son of Nora Dukes. He served in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of Mt. Elem Baptist Church.

Survivors include five brothers, Phillip M. Dukes and David Dukes of Dallas, and Don Dukes, Jerry Dukes and Patrick Dukes, all of Greenville and three sisters, Lucille Hawkins and Angela Dukes of Greenville and Anita Williams of Dallas.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.

Pallbearers will be Carlos Denmark, Billy Denmark, Reginald Denmark, Anthony Barrett, Kenny Jackson and Micheal Kelly.

Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lola Hammonds

CROWLEY - Lola Hammonds, 84, of Crowley died Thursday in Grand Prairie. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday at Laurel Land Memorial Park

She was born in Commerce on March 18, 1914. She was a housewife and a member of the Boulevard Baptist Church in Burleson.

Surviving are a son, Terry Joe Jones of Weatherford; a daughter, Betty George of Grand Prairie; four sisters, Ola Jeffcoat of Greenville, Dorothy McAdams of Dallas, Eugenia Jackson of Greenville and Wilda Wilson Molloy of Lubbock; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Jones in 1960; her second husband, Don Hammonds in 1987; a son, Charles Fred Jones and a brother, Charlie Barto.

Baumgardner Funeral Home, Inc. of Crowley was in charge of arrangements.

Vera Weatherly

QUINLAN - Services for Vera Weatherly, 86, of Quinlan, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Quinlan Lybrand Funeral Home Chapel with Edith Bates officiating. Burial will be in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Quinlan. She died Friday in Terrell.

Born in Hunt County on Oct. 21, 1911, she was the daughter of Thomas and Farran Lassiter Lane. She married Ray Weatherly and was a housewife.

She was survived by her son, B. J. Weatherly of Quinlan; her daughter, Sandra Kattelus of Houston; a sister, Kathryn Campbell of Lufkin; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Tootsie Ely

POINT - Tootsie Ely, 70, of Point died Wednesday in a Dallas hospital. Memorial services are at 10 a.m. April 18 at Clifton Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Shedd officiating.

Mrs. Ely was born Oct. 27, 1927, in Vernon. She was married to Lee Ely on Jan. 16, 1945, in Greenville. She attended Bonanza schools and lived in the Bonanza community from 1927 to 1958.

Mrs. Ely was a cook for the Green Acres nursing home until her retirement in 1992.

Surviving are her husband of Point; one son, Thomas Ely of Mexico; one daughter, Vicky Lamb of Point; sisters, Lois White of Shirley, Lorene Hennen and Mary Shumate, both of Bonanza, and Billie Morton of Longview; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Jamie Ely, on Feb. 23, 1992.

Beverly McKnight

COMMERCE - Beverly Wells McKnight, 83, of Harrisonburg, Va., formerly of Commerce, died Wednesday in Harrisonburg. Funeral services are at First United Methodist Church at 10:30 a.m. Monday with Rev. Mike House officiating. Burial is in Rosemound Cemetery.

She was born in Texas on Sept. 30, 1914; the daughter of E.T. Wells and Laura Belle Burleson. She married William George McKnight Jr. on Feb. 27, 1941.

She and her husband established McKnight Construction Company in Commerce in 1950; she was office manager and vice president. She was elected to the board of trustees of Commerce Public Schools in 1959, the first woman ever elected to serve, and she served two terms.

Mrs. McKnight was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church and served many offices in the church and with the Methodist women. She was president of Northeast Texas Conference of United Methodist Women from 1968 to 1972. She was a member of Afflatus Culture Club of Commerce. She moved to Sunnyside in Harrisonburg, Va. in 1989.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Bob Holmes of Boston, Mass., a sister, Jim Ellen Adams of San Angelo; five grandchildren, Richard McKnight Weems of Richmond, Va., Wesley E. Weems of Atlanta, Ga., R. Kirk Weems of Beaver Creek, Colo., Robert E. Holmes Jr. of Chicago, Ill. and Todd A. Holmes of Baltimore, Md. and two great-grandchildren, Alexander Price Weems and Jackson McKnight Weems.

Her husband preceded her in death on April 8, 1993.

Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Pemberton Funeral Home.

Tootsie Ely

POINT - Tootsie Ely, 70, of Point died Wednesday in a Dallas hospital. Memorial services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Clifton Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Shedd officiating.

John Little

John Henry Little, 89, of Greenville, died Wednesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Henslee officiating. Burial is in Celeste Cemetery.

The son of Frank Little and Clora Struck, he was born Nov. 30, 1908 in Kaufman County. He married Noema Aven on Dec. 30, 1933 in Sulphur Springs. He was a mechanic with ESCO Manufacturing, retired.

Mr. Little was a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of Greenville; a son, Larry Little of Caddo Mills; a daughter, Peggy Carter of Trinidad; three sisters, Odell Cole of Lake Whitney, Callie Blackstone of Canton and Hettie Whitfield of Mesquite; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dale Little, in 1997; four brothers and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

B.C. Martin

B.C. Martin, 74, of Caddo Mills died Sunday at his residence. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Layman officiating. Burial is in Gober Cemetery.

He was born May 22, 1923 in Bonham, son of Lee Martin and Nellie Tollison. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Martin was a welder with E-Systems. He was a Baptist and was a member of Greenville Masonic Lodge No. 335 and the V.F.W.

He is survived by two sons, Buford C. Martin of Wylie and Bob Martin of Lone Oak; two stepsons, Chris Farr of Quinlan and Phil Farr of Dallas; a daughter, Sherry Jobe of Caddo Mills; a brother, Dub Martin of Arkansas; three sisters, Annie Webster of Hale and Doris McDonald and Adie Hutchings, both of Bonham; ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, a son, Gary Wayne Martin and a sister, Onita Hensley.

Pallbearers are Harvey Purdom, Gene Reynolds, Buddy Luttrell, Paul Chapman, Harry Powell and Jim McBeth.

Ruby Ratliff

JOSEPHINE - Funeral services for Ruby Mae Ratliff, 83, of Josephine are at 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Hargrave officiating. Burial is in Wilson Chapel Cemetery in McKinney.

She died Wednesday in Wylie.

She was born Oct. 17, 1914 in Tyler to Alvin McIntire and Mary Pronina McIntire. She and Ernest Ratliff were married June 21, 1943 in Sherman. She was a homemaker. She was a Baptist.

Surviving are her husband of Josephine; three sons, Roy Lawrence Hamilton of Blythe, Calif., David Coleman Hamilton of Josephine and Ricky Wayne Hamilton of Florida; a sister, Mary Lea Dunlap of Amarillo; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A son, Rubin Hamilton, and four brothers preceded her in death.

Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rentfrow Funeral Home in Caddo Mills.

Leslie Thompson

Leslie Jewell Thompson, 95, of Greenville died Thursday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Weiland Cemetery with Rev. Larry Combs officiating.

Born Sept. 3, 1902 in Hunt County, she was the daughter of William Bagwell and Ada Estell Berry Bagwell. She married Carl Thompson on Nov. 20, 1921 in Lone Oak. She retired from the Greenville Independent School District. She was a member of Cash Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Harold L. and Joyce Thompson of Greenville, Charlie and Wanda Thompson of Quinlan and Jimmy Thompson of Daley City, Calif.; a daughter, Dorothy Jennings of Dallas; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1963; a daughter, Carlene Burton; one grandson and six brothers.

Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Marshall Williams

WOLFE CITY - Marshall Don Williams, 63, of Dallas died Tuesday at Baylor Medical Center. There is a graveside service today at 1 p.m. at the Ladonia Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Mitchell officiating.

He was born Sept. 6, 1934 in Ladonia, son of Richard Daniel Williams and Hazel Inez Denges Williams. Mr. Marshall was a veteran, having served in Korea. He was self-employed. He was a Methodist.

Surviving are his mother of Irving and a sister, Betty Jo Ashley of Irving.

R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home of Wolfe City is in charge of arrangements.
