WOLFE CITY - Margaret Aline Walker, 101, of Wolfe City died Saturday night at Smith Nursing Home. Graveside services are at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Mount Carmel Cemetery with Rev. Eldon Chester officiating.
Miss Walker was born Feb. 11, 1897, in Wolfe City; the daughter of Franklin Rhea and Martha Jane Cozby Walker. She was a graduate of Wolfe City High School, She received a masters degree from East Texas State University and did graduate work at Southern Methodist University.
Miss Walker began her teaching career at Wolfe City Elementary School and later became principal. She left Wolfe City school system to accept a teaching position in the Dallas Independent School District. She retired from Crozier Tech High School; having taught there several years.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wolfe City.
Surviving are a nephew, W.R. "Bill" Malone of Dallas and several cousins.

Earl Bryant
LONE OAK - Earl Bryant, 69, of Lone Oak died Thursday at his residence. There is a graveside service at 10 a.m. today in Hooker Cemetery with Rev. William "Bill" Dial officiating.
He was born Sept. 6, 1928 in Chillicothe to Earl Hicks and Grace Webb Bryant. He was a retired paint contractor and had lived in Lone Oak the past 20 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Brenda Davis of Quanah; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Elmer Harvey
EMORY - Elmer Harvey of Emory died Wednesday at his home. There is a graveside service at noon today at Smyrna Cemetery with Rev. William Potts officiating.
The son of Newt and Mattie Ellis Harvey, he was born in Ennis on Oct. 29, 1934. He was a self-employed farmer. Mr. Harvey was a Baptist.
Surviving are a son, Sam Harvey of Little Rock, Ark.; a daughter, Elizabeth Blunt of Page, Ariz.; two sisters, Mary Burns of Emory and Mildred Threatt of Dallas and a grandson.

Willie Henslee
WOLFE CITY-Willie Azalee Henslee, 100, of Plano, longtime resident of Wolfe City, died Thursday at Heritage Manor Nursing Home of Plano after a lengthy illness. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Elden Chester officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Born April 22, 1898 in McGregory, she was the daughter of James Morris Moore and Mollie Seaton Moore. She and Hubert Henslee were married Dec. 19, 1916 in Wolfe City. She was a housewife. Mrs. Henslee was a member of First United Methodist Church in Wolfe City.
Survivors include three daughters, Elna Crowell of Village Mills, Willdene Rowland of Richardson and Loretha Sue Brooks of Monroe, La.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 7, 1987 and one son, Lowell Henslee.
Pallbearers are Freddie Watchendorf, Malcolm Rowland, Randy Rowland, Aaron Brooks, Rusty Brooks and Dustin Rowland.
Albert Spradling
Funeral services for Albert A. Spradling of Greenville are at 10 a.m. Monday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Hazelip officiating. Burial will be in Jacobia Cemetery.
He died Friday at Baylor Hospital in Dallas.
He was born in Hunt County on Jan. 6, 1919, son of A.A. "Ross" Spradling and Fannie Bridges Spradling. He married Nona Murray on Jan. 13, 1993 in Greenville. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Mr. Spradling retired from PCA. He was a rodeo announcer and auctioneer. He was a member of Old Concord Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Susan Spradling of Greenville; a son, Bill Garrett of Greenville; a daughter, Gaylyn Weatherly of Josephine; a stepbrother, Ross Howard Spradling of Lubbock; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, four stepsisters and one stepbrother.
Pallbearers are Billy LeRoy, Paul Fleming, O.G. Bow, John Barrow, Rick Stevens and Carlos Deaton. Honorary pallbearers are Norman Ulmer, J.M. Stansel, Robert Sikes and Raymond Gray.

Rebecca Cameron
Rebecca Lake Cameron of Lake Tawakoni, Lone Oak, died Thursday of cancer at Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. today at St. Paul's Episcopal Church with The Rev. Donald H. Dinwiddie officiating. Burial is at 3:30 p.m. at Restland Cemetery in Dallas.
She was born July 2, 1917 in Dallas, daughter of James Earl Lake and Edith Golay Lake. She and Arch W. Cameron were married Sept. 5, 1963. She lived in Dallas until 1971 when she moved to Lake Tawakoni. She worked in the Sales Audit Department of Neiman-Marcus in Dallas for 34 years, retiring in 1974.
Mrs. Cameron was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Greenville. She was a member of the Daughters of the King and Episcopal Church Women and Altar Guild.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Carol Cameron Ackerson of Chattanooga, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Nancy Myers of Beaufort, S.C. and three step-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 25, 1983 and a brother.

Permelia Cupp
Permelia Ann "Peely" Cupp of Rockwall died Wednesday at Cozby-Germany Hospital in Grand Saline. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Tomme officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
The daughter of James T. Hamilton Sr. and Lena Tresh Hamilton, she was born May 10, 1914 in Hopkinsville, Ky. She married Oliver A. "Bud" Cupp on Jan. 21, 1933 in Emory. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Rockwall.
She is survived by two sons, Danny Cupp of Edgewood and Amos Cupp of Caddo Mills; a brother, James T. Hamilton Jr. of Greenville; a sister, Louise O'Pry of White Rock; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one step grandchild; one step great-grandchild and two step great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 1991.
Pallbearers are Bryan Luckett, Hal Luckett, Jim Hamilton, Jimmy Paul Hamilton, James Jacobs and Buster O'Pry.
Richard Elam
TURNWATER, Wash.- Richard Givens Elam, 82, of Olympia, Wash. died Wednesday in Columbia Capital Medical Center in Olympia. Services are at 1 p.m. Monday at Olympic Funeral Home Chapel in Turnwater. Burial is in Olympic Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Elam was born May 9, 1916, in Celeste to Richard G. and Clydia Hazel Elam. He was an operating engineer for several companies and a member of the operating engineers union. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp in World War II.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Jim Cope of Olympia; brother, Billy Elam of Leonard; sister, Golden MacDonald of Celeste, and two grandsons.
Visitation is from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Hal R. Horton
ANCHORAGE, Ak. - Hal R. "Red" Horton, 54, an Alaskan attorney and pilot, died Tuesday in a plane crash on St. George Island. A memorial service is at 3 p.m. Sunday at the First United Methodist Church in Anchorage. Plans for a memorial service in Texas are pending.
Horton was born May 5, 1944 in Greenville, the son of Hal C. and Lelloine Horton. He attended public schools in Greenville and graduated from Greenville High School in 1962. He graduated from the University of Texas in 1966 and graduated from the University of Texas Law School in 1969.
Horton married Beth Asberry of Greenville in 1966. Following graduation from law school, he accepted the position as Assistant Attorney General in Juneau, Ak.
He spent one year in Fairbanks as an Assistant District Attorney and then, at the age of 26, was appointed a District Court Judge in Kodiak.
In May, 1972, Horton joined Ron Birch as one of the founding partners of the law firm of Birch, Horton, Bittner and Cherot.
Horton was an avid pilot and recently received a citation from the Federal Aviation Administration for his efforts in saving the life of a lost pilot. He was also awarded the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association Distinguished Pilot award in 1989.
Survivors include his wife Beth of Anchorage, Ak., a daughter Terry Horton of Portland, Ore., a son, Hal R. Horton Jr., currently a graduate student in Santa Barbara, Calif. and a sister, Lelloine Horton Waits of Abernathy, Texas.
Also surviving are his parents of San Antonio, an uncle, Jack B. Horton of Greenville, and two aunts, Mary Horton Lauderdale and Sarah Horton Plunket, both of Greenville.

Mary Lou Titus
Funeral services for Mary Lou "Aunt T" Titus of Greenville are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Williams Aimes officiating. Burial will be in East Mount Cemetery.
She was born Feb. 5, 1919 in Greenville to Jason and Irene Williams Jackson. She married Frank Titus in 1938 in Greenville. She worked as a cook. She was a Church of God in Christ member.
Survivors include a brother, John L. Jackson of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Leola Jackson of Dallas and an aunt, Sally Hodges.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two sisters and two brothers.
Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

Herman Marable
Herman P. Marable of Greenville died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. today at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Lamm officiating. Burial will be in Miller Grove Cemetery.
He was born July 18, 1913 in Miller Grove, son of George H. Marable and Cordia Howell Marable. He married Ila Stripling on March 28, 1937 in Miller Grove. Mr. Marable was a retired dairyman. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; a son, Duane Marable of Greenville; a daughter, June Stewart of Dallas; a brother, Champ Marable of Miller Grove; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

April Thomas

She died Saturday at her home.
Daughter of Odzell Davidson and Jo Ann Harris, she was born July 18, 1965 in Greenville. She and Leslie Thomas were married in 1987 in Dallas. She worked as a cashier. Mrs. Thomas was a member of St. John Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Greenville; her mother of Greenville; a son, Dante Thomas of Greenville; a daughter, Nadia Thomas of Greenville; a brother, Rodney Buchanan of Greenville and two sisters, Vickie Buchanan of Greenville and Lythell Harris of Dallas.

George Dicken
SULPHUR SPRINGS - Funeral services for George Truett Dicken, 67, of Cumby are at 10 a.m. Thursday at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Gene Glaeser and Bruce Dimick officiating. Burial is in Miller Grove Cemetery.
He died Tuesday at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
Born in Cumby on Jan. 18, 1931, he was the son of Tommy Jefferson and Zoa Wooley Dicken. He was a 1948 graduate of Miller Grove High School and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Soil and Water Conservation Board. He served with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He married Yvonne Fatheree in Sulphur Springs on Jan. 1, 1953.
Mr. Dicken was a dairyman and rancher and a lifelong resident of Hopkins County. He was a member of the League Street Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Mickie Dicken of Denton; a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Kerry Taylor of Cumby; two brothers, Cecil Dicken of Brashear and Truman Dicken of Miller Grove; a sister, Bonnie Kilgore of Tyler and six grandchildren, Mitchell and Russell Taylor, Kelly, Ashley and Alexandria Dicken and Audrey Chapman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, J.D. Dicken.

He died Tuesday at Parkland Hospital in Dallas.
He was born in Rodriguez Nuevolion, Mexico on Dec. 16, 1936, son of Lionides Garcia and Carmen O. Ontiveros. He married Idalia Galindo on June 28, 1958 in Sabinas Coahiaha. He was pastor of El Buen Assamble of God Church.
He is survived by his wife of Greenville; five sons, David Garcia Jr. and Ruben Garcia, both of New York and Misael Garcia, Efrain Garcia and Abaram Garcia, all of Greenville; four daughters, Ana Judith Monjaras, Griselda Elizabeth Almanza, Lilliana Arellano and Damaris Guerra, all of Greenville; a brother, Daniel Garcia of Guadalupe de la Rosa, Mexico and 18 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Pallbearers are Martin Almanza, Efrain Garcia, Abram Garcia, Misael Garcia, Isidro Avellano and Juan Antonio Guerra.

Kester McCluer
TERRELL - Kester "Pop" Marion McCluer died Monday in a Terrell hospital. Funeral services are at the Goggans Funeral Home Chapel in Terrell at 2 p.m. today with Dr. Eliot Jones officiating. Burial is in Oakland Memorial Park.
The son of Joseph M. and Retta Wilson McCluer, he was born May 3, 1911 in Marietta, Miss. He and Martha Lavern Goodwin were married May 19, 1934. He moved to Terrell in 1956 and owned and operated McCluer Laundry until his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Terrell.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years of Terrell; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Deryl Winton, Janice and Ron Compton, all of Terrell and Cleta and LeRoy Pierce of Southlake; two sisters, Lois Mayfield of Wills Point and Eleana Dickenson of Fulton, Miss.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were two sons, Wendell and John McCluer and a grandson.

She was born April 20, 1998 in Sulphur Springs, the daughter of Lonny Smith and Jennifer Pendergrass. The family are Baptists.
Survivors include her parents, both of Emory; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. David Smith of Emory, Mrs. Patsy Evans of Farmersville and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pendergrass of Alba and one aunt and three uncles.

COMMERCE - Mayvous Littrell Surratt, 92, of Commerce died Saturday in Parkview Convalescent Center in Paris, Texas. Services are at 10 a.m. today at Walker Memorial Chapel with Dr. Bobby Tollison officiating. Burial is in Rosemound Cemetery.
Mrs. Surratt was born June 24, 1906, in Direct; the daughter of Jim and Allie Hudspeth Crow. She was married to Homer Surratt on January 4, 1975, in Commerce.
She was a graduate of East Texas Normal College and a retired special education teacher in the Commerce Independent School District. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Rebekah Sunday School class.
Surviving are nieces O'Beria O'Brien of Paris and Jinna Jenkins of California; three grandnieces and two grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 10, 1979; two brothers and one sister.
Visitation is from 9 to 10 a.m. today at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home.

Mr. Busby was born June 13, 1976, in Plano; the son of Donnie and Janice Pharr Busby. He graduated from Bland High School and was employed at E-Tex Mechanical in Cash.
