WINNSBORO - Lorene Adams, 81, of Winnsboro died Wednesday in a Winnsboro hospital. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Beaty Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Myers officiating. Burial is in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Caddo Mills.
Mrs. Adams was born July 3, 1917 in Caddo Mills; the daughter of Alva Ray and Bessie Bost Buce. She was married to Jake Adams on March 15, 1941. She was a member of the Caddo Mills Baptist Church and Crossroads Baptist Church of Winnsboro. She was also a member of the Jolly Quilting Club.
Surviving are cousins Rodger Buse of Dallas and Bill Lee and Rufus Lee, both of Caddo Mills; nephews, Eddy Adams of Winnsboro and Jerry Massey and Tommy Massey, both of DeSoto; and nieces, Joan Bentley of Caddo Mills and Gaylia Polk of Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 26, 1992.
Pallbearers include Bobby Cole, Joe Busby and Roger Cole.

Roy Cleghorn
Roy Dale Cleghorn, 49, of Dallas died Tuesday at Veterans Administration Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services are at 3 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Russel Jay Carver officiating. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.
He was born in Greenville on July 19, 1949, son of Lee Roy Cleghorn and Lorene Wilcher Cleghorn. He served in the U.S. Navy and was manager of a wrecking yard.
He is survived by his mother of Wolfe City; two brothers, Randy Cleghorn of Dallas and Robert M. Cleghorn of Greenville and a niece, Lore Cleghorn.
His father preceded him in death in 1991.
Mary Gill
WOLFE CITY - Mary Evelyn Gill, 50, of Irving, formerly of Wolfe City, died at her home Tuesday. Funeral services are at South MacArthur Church of Christ at 10 a.m. today with Tim Lewis officiating. Burial is at 2 p.m. in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
She was born in Wolfe City on July 29, 1948 to Doyle and Mary Lue Ray.
Surviving are her husband, William Gill; two sons, Christopher Gill and Nathan Gill, both of Irving; her parents of Wolfe City; a brother, Lloyd Ray of Wolfe City; a sister, Nancy Lue Ray of Wolfe City; mother-in-law Alyne Gill of Greenville; brother-in-law Jimmy Gill of Hurst, a niece, Julie Clark of Saginaw and two nephews, Jonathan Ray of Wolfe City and Scott Gill of Saginaw.

Joe Gregston
LONE OAK - Joe Gregston, 67, of Lone Oak died at his residence Tuesday. Graveside services are at 10 a.m. Friday at the Lone Oak Cemetery with William Dial officiating.
He was born in Wood County on March 1, 1931 to Howard Riley Gregston and Etta Gertrude White. In 1970, he married Georgia L. Jones Putman in Lone Oak.
He was a retired water plant superintendent, having worked for Community Water Company for 23 years. Prior to that he worked for the City of Lone Oak and the Lone Oak Independent School District.
Survivors are a brother, Frank Gregston of Denmark, Maine; stepdaughter, Margaret Hart of Lindale; stepsons Larry and daughter-in-law, Patty Putman and Roger and daughter-in-law Jan Putman of Lone Oak; and a niece, Minnie Gregston of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by his wife on June 2, 1973; his parents, three brothers and a sister.
Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Bartley Funeral Home in Lone Oak.
Virgil Holley
FARMERSVILLE - Virgil Lee Holley, 83, of Farmersville died Tuesday at his residence. Funeral services are at Trinity Baptist Church in Farmersville at 2 p.m. today with Rev. James Coffman and Rev. Rick Ballard officiating. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Born in Sadler on July 30, 1915, he was the son of John Lawson and Annie Campbell Holley. He and Juanita Hughes were married Jan. 3, 1937 in Farmersville. He was a farmer and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of Farmersville; a daughter, Frances Foster of Farmersville; two sons, Johnny L. Holley of Terrell and Danny R Holley of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two sisters, Juanita Martin of Gainesville and Allene Holley of Colorado; a brother, Charles Holley of Gainesville; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Kenneth Huckaby
Graveside services for Kenneth J. Huckaby, 77, of Wills Point, will be at noon today at Highland Cemetery in Lawton, Okla. with Rev. Byron Elmore officiating.
He died Tuesday at Crestwood Nursing Home in Wills Point.
The son of Robert Alonza Huckaby and Dora Herriage, he was born in Tipton, Okla. on Aug. 8, 1921. He married Estelle Ruby Austin on July 20, 1942 in Tipton. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Huckaby worked for the City of Lawton and was Pentocostal.
Surviving are two brothers-in-law, Walter Swaffer of Wills Point and Cecil Austin of Lawton, Okla. and a granddaughter, Sue Ann Huckaby and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife on May 11, 1981; a son, Donald Ray Huckaby on Oct. 5, 1995; three brothers and two sisters.

COMMERCE- Ollie Mae Quick, 61, of Commerce died Tuesday in Dallas. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Pemberton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery.
Daughter of Elmer G. Highfield and Martha M. Kirby Highfield, she was born in Commerce on Jan. 7, 1937. She and Glenn Quick were married in Commerce in 1987. She was a lifetime resident of Commerce and was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are her husband of Commerce; her mother of Cooper; two daughters, Kristie Berry of Commerce and Laurie Shaw of Commerce; two sons, Tony Burnett and Clifford Fivecoat, both of Commerce; three sisters, Odessa Nunn and Montez Prince of Cooper and Odell Potter of Grand Saline; a brother, Archie Highfield of Pine Forest; seven grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; a son, Darrell Lynn Burnett in 1983 and a grandson, Wesley Wayne Wiggins Jr. in 1997.
Pallbearers are Donny Davis, Jacky Prince, Adam Norris, Jackie Marshall, Ellis Patrick and Jackie Marshall Jr.

He was born Wednesday to Fco Javier Villalpando and Laura DeLeon Villalpando.
Survivors are his parents of Greenville; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jorge Luis DeLeon of Greenville and Mr. and Mrs. Francisco Villalpando of Mexico and great-grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Incencio Hererra, Mr. and Mrs. Guadolupe Villalpando and Mr. and Mrs. Antonio Torres, all of Mexico.

Rick Lane Weatherford, 46, of Greenville, died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Delton Alexander officiating. Burial is in Wieland Cemetery.
The son of John E. Weatherford and Evon Wade Weatherford, he was born Aug. 18, 1952 in Greenville. He graduated from Lone Oak HIgh School, Tyler Junior College and attended East Texas State University. He was baptized at the Wieland Church of Christ.
Mr. Weatherford served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was an employee of E-Systems Sinai Field Mission, United National Buffer Zone H.B. Zachry International Co. of Saudi Arabia, United Geophysical in oil exploration in Sudan, Camaroon, Geosource overseas assignment in People's Republic of China as party manager in Siesmic Operations. He was currently manager of Vertex Home Management.
Survivors include his parents of Greenville; his fiancee Kathy Huey and her daughter, Casey Wilson of Greenville; brother and sister-in-law Phil and Shirley Weatherford of Greenville; an aunt, Mrs. Patt Gantt of Greenville; an uncle, Kenneth Weatherford of Georgetown; and nieces Dana Shewmake of Granbury and Wendy Mayfield of Keller.
His grandmother, Lorena Wade, preceded him in death on Aug. 3, 1998.

Eldridge Chapman
CADDO MILLS - Eldridge Lafayette Chapman, 87, formerly of Caddo Mills, died Sunday in Dallas after a long illness. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Caddo Mills with Herschel Forester officiating. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Caddo Mills.
He was born in Glory on Jan. 22, 1911, son of William Eldridge and Arminda Frances Ward Chapman. He and Florence Estelle Prim were married June 27, 1931.
Mr. Chapman worked for Bowell Dairy as a milkman. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are two sons, Max Chapman of Dallas and Bob Chapman of San Antonio; a daughter, Linda Vander Drift of Garland; a sister, Laura Cates of Dallas; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
His wife and six sisters preceded him in death.
Pallbearers are Kenneth Ayers, Dub Williams, E.J. Williams, Troy Meeks, Eudell Sprinkle and Dale Timberlake. L.C. Ayers is an honorary pallbearer.

LEONARD - Funeral services for Forest Edgar Cox, 70, of Leonard are at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Frazier officiating. Burial is in the Leonard Cemetery.
Mr. Cox died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.
Son of Archie Edwin Cox and Mammie Lilliebridge Cox, he was born Sept. 4, 1927 in Chandler, Okla. He married Geraldine Gant on June 18, 1949 in Paris.
Mr. Cox was a retired truck driver for Sears. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of Leonard; daughters Phoebe Head and Terri Melton of Leonard; two sons, Eddie Cox of Leonard and Rusty Cox of Bonham; four sisters, Viola Brotherton of Tulsa, Okla., Lois Damron of Phoenix, Ariz., Imajean Butler of Midland and Doris Stoniker of Houston; two brothers, Don Cox of Tulsa, Okla. and Bill Cox of Chandler, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Jeramie Cox, Chad Cox, Archie Cox, Eddie L. Cox, Travis Head and Nick Doyle. Honorary pallbearers are Allen Melton, Jeffary Cox, Robert Head, Josh Head, Josh Horn and Jordon Horn.

George Dunbar Jr.
DALLAS - George Elmer "G.E." Dunbar Jr. died July 31 at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. There was a memorial service Aug. 2 at Restland Cemetery in Dallas with his brother, Rev. Richard Dunbar, officiating.
Born in in the Shady Grove community east of Greenville on Sept. 22, 1917, he was the son of Elmer and Annie Bryant Dunbar. He lived in Greenville until entering the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He had lived in Dallas for many years and was a member of Gaston Oaks Baptist Church.
Surviving are a brother, Rev. Richard Dunbar and wife, Mary Lynn, of Onalaska; a sister-in-law Mary Louise "Judy" Dunbar of Dallas; three nephews and four nieces, one from Commerce, Donna Dunbar Odom.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sally Byrd, in 1993; two sisters, Zola Fry and Jessie Bearden and a brother, Hubert Dunbar.
Eugene Jennings
ALBA - Eugene Jennings, 46, of Dallas, died Sunday at his residence. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dunbar Cemetery in Emory.
He was born Dec. 29, 1951 in Dallas and lived in Dallas most of his life. He was a carpet installer.
He is survived by his wife, Rona Faye Bullard Jennings of Dallas; his mother, Juanita Jennings of Emory; a son, Ryan Gilmore of Dallas; a daughter, Rebecca Smith of Eustace; a brother, Weldon Jennings of Emory; three sisters, Linda Mayo of Bullard, Sue Dozer of Lone Oak and Becky Cason of Point and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claud Jennings, in 1993.

Mr. London was born Sept. 19, 1937, in Bailey; the son of Jack and Rita Scarborough London. He was a Baptist.

Frank Plaxco
Frank Plaxco, 81, of Greenville died Sunday. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Dr. David Stubblefield officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Born in Alba on June 26, 1917, he was the son of John Plaxco and Minnie Belle Whytus Plaxco. He married Imogene Hensley on June 1, 1935 in Commerce.
Mr. Plaxco served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a retired electrician and a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of Greenville; a daughter, Linda McClain of Greenville; three brothers, Earl Plaxco of Spiro, Okla., Ralph Plaxco of Kilgore and Lem Plaxco of Sulphur Springs and granddaughters Kristin McClain and Kacey McClain.
A grandson, Sean West, preceded him in death.
Pallbearers are Bob Harwell, Jack Dumas, John Mizell, Louis Blanton, J.C. Green and Sam Yosten.

She was born in Farmersville on Sept. 28, 1915 to Lyhue and Lena Edgar Woods. She married Thadus L. Seay on Oct. 17, 1931 in Farmersville. She had been employed by Resistol Hat Manufacturing.
Survivors include four daughters, Dexie Gilbert of Garland, Wanda Hass of Alba, Joyce Armstrong of Savoy and Joan McBride of Alba; a son, Jackie Seay of Alba, a sister, Rose Gladden of Pilot Point; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Elma Griffin
Elma B. Griffin, 75, of Quinlan died Saturday. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Prairie Heaven Cemetery in Hobbs, N.M.
Mrs. Griffin was born May 22, 1923, in Pontotoc County, Okla.; the daughter of John Franklin Cora Lackey Ingram. She was married to Ray Griffin on June 1, 1940, in Crowell, Okla.
Mrs. Griffin was a college registrar and a member of the church of Christ since 1955.
Surviving are a son, Daryl Griffin of Quinlan; brothers, Floyd Ingram of Moore, Okla. and Raymond Ingram of Tulsa, Okla.; sisters, Thelma Clampitt of Ada, Okla. and Lucille Stokes, Roff, Okla.; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Lonnie Griffin on March 12, 1977. and one grandson, Steven Griffin on June 26, 1993.

Jerry Whitson
QUINLAN -Jerry Lee Whitson, 51, of Quinlan died Friday in Quinlan. No services are planned.
Mr. Whitson was born Aug. 20, 1946, in Dallas; the son Russell and Louise Tate Whitson. A Marine Corps veteran, he served in the Vietnam War and was a prisoner of war. He was a mechanic.
Surviving are his mother; sons, Jerry Lee Whitson Jr. and Billy Whitson; daughters, Sherry Hutcherson and Tina Whitson; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, James Whitson.
