NEVADA - Rose Marie Brooks, 42, of Moore, Okla. died Sunday. Graveside services are at noon today at Nevada Cemetery with Rev. Joe George officiating.
Mrs. Brooks was born June 19, 1956, in Sacramento, Calif.; the daughter of Willie and Mary Blackwell Fulton. She was married to James Brooks on Feb. 14, 1998, in Moore, Okla. She was a Baptist.
Surviving are her mother of Greenville; son, Douglas Dockery Jr. of Arcadia, La.; daughters, Magic Eubanks of Houston and Mary Dockery of Nevada; brothers, Billy Fulton of Nevada, Danny Fulton of Mesquite and Carl Fulton of Garland.; sisters, Laura White of Nevada and Shirley Johnson of Garland; and one grandchild.
Honorary pallbearers are Vilah Brooks, Willie Fulton and William Witzel.

Hiram Cathey
Hiram Wilcher Cathey, 75, of Greenville died Saturday in Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Henslee officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Mr. Cathey was born Oct. 20, 1922, in Caddo Mills; the son of Martin J. and Ida Mason Cathey. He married Katy Roberts on July 20, 1946, in Greenville. He was a retried assembler and installer at E-Systems and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army veteran; having served in World War II.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; daughter, Sandy Wooldridge of Plano; brother, Paul Cathey of Mesquite; and sister, Winona Rodgers of Rockwall.
Pallbearers are R.M. York, J.H. Nix Jr., Marvin York, Ellis Saunders, Clyde Dennis and Bill Thomason. Honorary pallbearer is Bill Roberts.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

@Normal:Clark R. Pelky, 85, died Saturday in a Gladewater nursing home. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Taylor and Rev. Dean Simmons officiating. Burial is in Forest Park Cemetery. Mr. Pelky was born Dec. 31, 1912, in Point; the son of Miles and Fannie Donaldson Pelky. He married Nellie Henderson in 1947 in Greenville. He was a retired U.S. Navy chief petty officer and was a member of the Rockwall United Methodist Church of Dallas.
Surviving are two sisters, Orpha Beidelman of Gladewater and Velma Duvall of Fort Worth, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 10, 1987.
Matthew Chumley
QUINLAN - Matthew Bobby Chumley, infant son of Bobby and Gwyn Chumley, of Quinlan, died Saturday morning during delivery at a Kaufman hospital. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Union Grove Cemetery, near Wills Point, with Rev. J.W. Carlisle officiating.
Survivors include his parents, Bobby and Gwyn Chumley of Quinlan; brother Timmothy Chumley, of Quinlan; maternal grandparents Sammy D. and Lynn Walls, of Haltom City; grandmother Willa Chumley, of Wills Point; and maternal Great grandmother Estelle Taylor, of Euless.

Ethelyn Hall Banks, 85, of Greenville, died Saturday in Farmersville. Funeral services are at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jarrod Roberts and Rev. Donny Forson officiating. Burial is in Forest Park Cemetery.
She was born Sept. 24, 1912 in Copeville to George and Ruth Hall. She married V. T. Banks in Copeville. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include step-son J. E. Banks, of Greenville; daughter Sharon Allen, of New York; grandchildren Lance Banks, Paige Banks, Shelli DeGarso, and Haley Wooten, all of Greenville; two great grandsons, also of Greenville; brother, Dr. M. S. Hall, of Van Alstyne; and sister Mary Ross, of Corpus Christi.

McKINNEY - Norma Lee Bottoms, 44, of Celina died Friday at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Directors Chapel in McKinney with Rev. Lewis McMahan officiating. Burial is in Merit Cemetery in Merit.
She was born Dec. 21, 1953 in Greenville to Floyd Ray Chambliss and Robbie Joyce Wolfe Chambliss. She married R.W. Bottoms on Dec. 15, 1973 in Quinlan.
Mrs. Bottoms was a lab technician for Hutson Industry and attended Lighthouse Evangelistic Center.
Survivors include her husband of Celina; two sons, Jeremy Lee Bottoms and wife, Donna, of Leesville, La. and Eric Dewayne Bottoms of Celina; his mother of Quinlan; brothers Keith Chambliss and wife, Jacqueline, of Minneapolis, Minn. and Monty Jay Chambliss of Rowlett; sisters Kathy Wrenn and husband, Doug, of Quinlan, Debbie Coates and husband, Steve, of Emory and Diane Ehrhart and husband, Pete, of Greenville; one grandchild on the way; 13 nieces and nephews and family of Frisco Wholesale Lumber.

COMMERCE - Velma Grace George, 90, of Commerce died Thursday in Commerce. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at Pemberton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Mabe and Rev. Cary Kinnaird officiating. Burial is in Rosemound Cemetery.
Mrs. George was born Feb. 8, 1908, in Commerce; the daughter of Homer and Cordie Wright Adams. She was married to Paul George on July 17, 1933 in Durant, Okla.
A longtime resident of Commerce, she lived in Henrietta for 10 years. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1928 and taught school at Progressive Center for three years. She was also employed as a bookkeeper at the Ford dealership in Commerce in the early 1930s.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Paula Grace and Jim Hudson of Commerce; grandsons and wives, Jeff and Tamie Hudson of Ennis and Jason and Emma Hudson of Cumby; grandsons, Jim Bob Hudson of Waxahachie and his fiancee Denise Thomas and her son, Jonathon Thomas, and Jon Thomas Hudson of The Colony; granddaughter, Janna Hudson of Commerce; granddaughters and husbands, Jenny and Andy Martin of Commerce and Jeanette and Philip Burnett of Ladonia; great-granddaughter, Amelia Grace Martin of Commerce; niece, Patricia Isom of Dallas; nephew, Joe Mike Clayton of Dallas; and grand-niece, Cindy Isom of Dallas and one grand-nephew, Mark Isom of Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 27, 1993; one daughter, Mary Ann George, in 1936; one brother and one sister.

Seth Nolen
EMORY- Seth Nolen, 84, of Point died Friday at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Sunday at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James B. Rose and Rev. David Thompson officiating. Burial is in Hooker Cemetery.
Born in Rains County on Nov. 26, 1913, he was the son of R.C. and Ardis Oler Nolen. He married Georgia Marie Moore on June 14, 1971 in Emory. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife of Point.
Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Eddie Chapin
COMMERCE - Eddie Jack Chapin, 57, of Sulphur Springs died Thursday in Sulphur Springs. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pemberton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bobby Tollison officiating. Burial is in Restlawn Memorial Park in Sulphur Springs.
Mr. Chapin was born July 30, 1941, in Sulphur Springs; the son of Jack H. and Lois Adams Chapin. He married Jan Bevis on July 25, 1986, in Sulphur Springs.
He graduated from Commerce High School in 1959 and received his bachelors degree from East Texas State University in 1968. He played on the ETSU varsity tennis team and was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.
Mr. Chapin worked for E-Systems as well as a physical education and history teacher and coach at Brownsville High School. In 1970, he joined his father at Chapin Real Estate in Commerce, where he worked until his illness.
A longtime resident of Commerce, he moved to Sulphur Springs in 1986. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Commerce.
Surviving are his wife of Sulphur Springs; son, Eddie Chapin Jr. of Commerce; daughter, Amy Doster of Sulphur Springs and Carin Chapin of Commerce; three grandchildren; parents, of Commerce; mother-in-law, Wilma Bevis of Sulphur Springs; and two sisters, Janet Duncan and Debbie Harris, both of Commerce.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild, Hannah Chapin, in 1997.
Pallbearers are Bobby Peek, Don Turner, David Bickley, Scoot Chaney, Tracy Barnes and Frank Street. Honorary pallbearers are Herbert Matlock, Gerald Lacy, Phillip Rhodes, Johnny Weddle, Neal Estes and Murrell Hogue.

Leena Holcomb
WAUSAU, Wisc. - Leena Elizabeth Holcomb, 73, of Schofield, Wisc. died Wednesday at her home. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Brashear Baptist Church in Brashear. Burial will be in the Brashear Community Cemetery.
The daughter of George and Merry May Walker, she was born Dec. 4, 1924 in Clarksville, Ark. She married Gilbert Ocie Holcomb on Dec. 19, 1944 in Ozone, Ark. She was a member of the Thomas Street Baptist Church in Wausau, the American Legion Auxiliary Post 215 in Minco, Okla. and the Order of the Eastern Star, Belle Grove Lodge 56 in Ludwig, Ark.
Surviving are her children, Gilbert Holcomb of Weston, Wis., Juanita Sue Van Norman of Dallas, and Sandra Beth Sims of Cumby; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and four sisters, Jewel Best of Arkansas, Marie Bryan of Oklahoma, Lee Forrest of Oklahoma and Jean Daniels of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987.

Andrew Payne
Andrew "Ted" Payne of Dallas, formerly of Greenville, died Wednesday in Baylor Medical Center. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Emmitt Pitts officiating. Burial is in East Mount Cemetery.
The son of Calvin and Minerva Sims Payne, he was born in Sulphur Springs on March 16, 1916. He married Mamie Matthews in 1936 in Greenville. In 1962, he married Ardell Brown in Ponca City, Okla. He served with the U.S. Marines.
Mr. Payne was a construction worker and he was a member of St. John Baptist Church in Ponca City.
Surviving are a stepson, Robert Goldsmith of Norfolk, Va.; three daughters, Andra Crosby, Herschell Williams and Melva Hill, all of Greenville; four stepdaughters, Jenny Goldsmith of Greenville, Carol Stitt of Irving and Udell Allen and Sherry Miller, both of Ponca City, Okla.; a brother, Esau Amos of Greenville; 22 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.
Pallbearers are Charles Hill, Curtis Williams, Joseph Crosby, Robert Goldsmith, Tony Denson and Kenneth Hill. Ed Washington, Dewey Fitzpatrick and Joe Coffee are honorary pallbearers.
Lorene Payne
Lorene Payne of Greenville died Thursday at Methodist Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wieland Church of Christ with Delton Alexander officiating. Burial is in the Wieland Cemetery.
Born May 1, 1916 in Tahoka, she was the daughter of Walter Davidson and Effie Bartlet. She married Herschel Eugene Payne on Oct. 12, 1948 in Rockwall. Mrs. Payne was a beautician and was a member of the Wieland Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband of Greenville; two sons, Houston Baker Sr. of Greenville and Wayne Baker of Greeley, Colo.; a daughter, Ann Loftin of Greenville; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Payne, in 1989 and two brothers, Dave Davidson in 1995 and Dearl Davidson in 1942.

Mildred Porter
EMORY - Mildred Porter, 96, of Mesquite, died Thursday at Doctors Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services are at Emory Church of Christ at 11 a.m. Saturday with G.D. Phillips officiating. Burial is in Lynch Cemetery.
Born Jan 4, 1902 in Sparta, Tenn., she was the daughter of Banjamin Thomas and Etter Lea Stipe Hamby. She and Gordon P. Porter were married in Rains Co. in 1917. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving are two sons, G.P. "Buck" Porter of Wolfe City and Jack Porter of Mesquite; a daughter, Louise Aston of Caddo Mills; sisters Minnie Bell Van Huss of Greenville and Myrtle Caulfield of Florida; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1958 and a daughter, Edna Lee in 1931.
Grandsons and great-grandsons are as pallbearers and great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

He was born Feb. 6, 1946 in Farmersville, son of Jim and Willie Faye Brooks Prather. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are his mother of McKinney; four sisters, Cora Jones of Quinlan, Betty Hall of Mesquite, Martha Hall of Blue Ridge and Sarah Fields of McKinney and a brother, Ronnie Prather of McKinney.

He was born April 21, 1951 in Marfa to Jose and Aurora Fuentes Duran. He worked in drafting.

Duran Ramirez of Garland; two daughters, Alexandra Rodriquez of Garland and Sophia Duran of Quinlan; a brother, Adam Duran of Garland and five sisters, Mary Posey and Gloria Rodriques of Dallas, Anita Vallez and Eva Marie Duran of Midland and Adella Parker of Denison.

Jimmy Evans

He died Tuesday at Wilson N. Jones Regional Health System in Sherman.
He was born Oct. 13, 1960 in McKinney, son of Jimmy Ray Evans and Dorothy Gillentine Evans. Mr. Evans was a disc jockey.
Surviving are his mother, Dorothy Morales of Randolph, his father of Campbell, daughters, C.J. Evans, Faynesh Evans, Whitley Evans and Taylor Evans, all of Dallas; a sister, Judy L. Evans of Bonham and brothers Edward Evans of Campbell and J.R. Evans of Randolph.

Rickey Giles
SULPHUR SPRINGS - Funeral services for Rickey Thomas Giles, 41, of Sulphur Springs are at 2 p.m. Saturday at West Oaks Funeral Chapel with Jimmy Rogers officiating. Graveside services are at 4 p.m. at Blue Ridge Cemetery in Blue Ridge.
He died Tuesday in Hopkins County Memorial Hospital from injuries received in a truck-train crash near Cumby.
The son of Fred and Wyvonne Nichols Giles, he was born March 2, 1957 in Sulphur Springs. He graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1976. On April 12, 1985 he married Alisha Goodson in Sulphur Springs.
Mr. Giles was a truck driver for A.K. Gillis & Sons Construction Co.
He is survived by his wife of Sulphur Springs; his parents of Sulphur Springs; a son, Tony Giles of Sulphur Springs; stepson Jarrod Kirkpatrick of Sulphur Springs; a daughter, Wendy Giles of Sulphur Springs and two brothers, Terry Michael Giles of Tyler and Stanley Keith Giles of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Mickey Ray Giles in 1957, and by another brother, Jerry Fred Giles in 1994.
