NEVADA - Services for Don Leeson, 60, of Nevada, will be 2 p.m. Monday in at the First United Methodist Church of Royse City with Rev. Bettye Elledge officiating. Burial will follow in the Nevada Cemetery. He died Friday at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
Born in Bridgeport, W. Va., on April 1, 1938, he was the son of Clarence Edward and Helen Hudkins Leeson. He married Nancy Breeden in McKinney on June 2, 1958. He served in the United States Air Force, was a member of Duck Creek Masonic Lodge #1419, the Scottish Rite of Dallas and the First United Methodist Church of Royse City. He was the recipient of a heart transplant on Aug. 11, 1989.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy and daughter Rene Peters of Nevada;, his mother, Helen Morgan of Wink; his step-mother, Dee Leeson of Morris Chapel, Tenn.; brothers Ronnie Leeson of New Iberia, La., Kennie Leeson of Josephine, G. B. Leeson of Midland, Robert Leeson of Kermit and Gerole Leeson of Midland; sisters Annetta Landry of Wink, Linda Crowson of Boonesville, Miss. and Carole Roberts of Friendswood and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Edward Leeson.
Visitation is scheduled at Rest Haven Funeral Home in Royse City.
Memorials may be made to the New Hearts Transplant at Baylor Hospital.
Billye Stivers
GALVESTON - A private family service for former Greenville resident Billye Burk Stivers, 78, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Forest Park Cemetery in Houston with Rev. Tom McGee officiating. She died Thursday in Galveston.
Born in Greenville on Aug. 17, 1920, she was the daughter of Willard B. Burk and Johnnie Wright Burk. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1938 and attended East Texas State University.
She marred Edward K. Stivers in 1942 and also lived in Kilgore, Houston and Lakeway, where they were members of the Lakeway Ecumenical Church. The Stivers moved to Galveston in 1995.
She is survived by her husband Edward K. Stivers of Galveston; her daughter, Vicki Rathbun of Galveston; her son, Ed "Chip" Stivers III of Conroe; a sister, Johnnie Bryan of Irving; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1971, her mother in 1977 and a brother, Will Burk, in 1980.
Pallbearers will include her son, grandsons, son in-law and nephew.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Harry Huggs
Funeral services for Harry Lyle Huggs of Greenville are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Witt, Rev. Lewis Smith and Rev. Mark Allred officiating. Burial is in Shady Grove Cemetery.
He died Thursday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.
The son of James W. Huggs and Highley Lane, he was born July 11, 1922 in Arkadelphia, Ark. He married Dorothy Grace Cox on June 10, 1950 in Fort Worth.
Mr. Huggs served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was corporate cash manager with E-Systems. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge 1273 in Winnsboro.
He is survived by his wife of Greenville; a son, Michael Huggs of Madison, Miss.; a daughter, Patty Smith of Wolfe City; a brother, Edward Clark Huggs of Fort Worth; a sister, Sutah Tobey of Loveland, Colo. and two grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Janie Daniel and Billie Camp.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home.
Etta Lewis
Etta Loraine Lewis of Ladonia died Sunday in Bonham. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pleasent Grove CME Church in Ladonia with Rev. Esther Faye Lawson officiating. Burial is in Pleasent Grove Cemetery.
The daughter of Andy and Matilda Bean Crowley, she was born March 6, 1909 in Ladonia. She and Roy Lewis were married in Fannin County in 1929. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasent Grove CME Church.
Surviving are five sons, Edward Lewis of Ladonia, Jimmy Lewis, Thomas Lewis and Harold Lewis, all of Dallas and Billy Lewis of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three daughters, Matilda Pease of Ladonia, Sarah Morrow and Tracie Sweet of Dallas; a brother, Andy Bean Crowley of Bonham; a sister, Ruby Harris of Dallas; 20 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Marcus Phillips, Terry Lewis, Harold Lewis, Willie J. Askew, Dwight Edwards and Sed Wilburn.

Elizabeth Phillips
Elizabeth "Sue" Phillips of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Greenville, died Oct. 11, 1996. There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville.
The daughter of Gladys Rutherford Sherrill, who grew up in Greenville, and Sewall Chandler Cathcart, she was born Dec. 30, 1926 in Greenville. On Jan. 21, 1946 she married Melville Martin Jones Phillips in Carrington, Ken.
She was an artist and image consultant and a TV model for commercials. She was past president of Coral Ridge Yacht Auxiliary, Broward County Historical Commission and founded "Pioneer Days" in Broward County, Fla.
Mrs. Phillips helped start the Fort Lauderdale Ballet Co. and was producer of "Show-offs," a June Taylor fundraiser for charity.
She taught summer bible camp and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale.
Surviving are her husband of Vista, Calif.; two daughters, Sheril Elizabeth Phillips of Irving and Charlotte Phillips Marjanovic of Vista, Calif.; a sister, Rutherford "Ruth" Cathcart Burns; and four grandchildren, Monica Elizabeth Cannon, Timothy David Cannon, Matthew Benjamin Marjanovic and Alexander Andrew Marjanovic.
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1974, her father in 1972 and a sister, Rutherford "Cathy" Cathcart Burns in 1989.

GARLAND - Veazy Watkins, 92, of Garland died Wednesday. There is a service at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Lavon with Rev. Clint Bratcher officiating. Burial is in Nevada Cemetery.
He was born May 13, 1906.
Surviving are his wife, Mavis Watkins of Paris; a daughter, Gladys Balka of Garland and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Hosack in July 1998, seven brothers and three sisters.

PLANO - Dorothy "Billie" Gooding of Plano died Monday at her home.
The daughter of Arthur Cleveland Neily and Anna Mae Livingstone, she was born in 1914 in British Columbia, Canada. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Kenneth Gooding of Plano; a daughter, Leslie Kolkmeier of Celeste and granddaughters Catherine and Jennifer.

Mary Puente
CADDO MILLS - Mary Cecelia Puente, 61, of Caddo Mills, died Tuesday at her residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Rentfrow Funeral Home with Rev. Leo Watkins officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Caddo Mills.
Born Nov. 22, 1936 in San Antonio, she was the daughter of Antonio Cardenas and Concha Trevino Cardenas. She married Mariano T. Puente on Oct. 28, 1954 in San Antonio. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Surviving are her husband of Caddo Mills; a son, Mariano Puente Jr. of Mesquite; three daughters, Henrietta Pozesky of Garland, Sylvia Hanna of Mesquite and Linda Martin of Grand Prairie; three brothers, four sisters, and nine grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Corey Ewton, Paul Ewton, Charles Ray Hanna II, Jeff Martin, Austin Martin and Mario Puente.

Ollie Bellah
DALLAS - Ollie Dell Collier Bellah died Monday in Rowlett. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sparkman Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel. Burial is in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Mrs. Bellah was born in Greenville on June 23, 1908 to Lon and Ann Collier. She grew up in Greenville and married William "Bill" Bellah on Jan. 2, 1928. In 1946, she moved to Dallas. She enjoyed painting, crocheting and cooking.
Mrs. Bellah was a member of Miller Road Baptist Church in Garland
Surviving are her children Billy and Shirley Harris of Garland and Jerry G. Lennox of Dallas; sister, Nannie Lou Ash and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and three sisters, Trudie and Lottie Collier and Bertha Pullen and a brother, Aubrey Collier.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Woodrow Duncan
DALLAS - Woodrow Lowry Duncan, 85, died Sept. 28 following a diabetic stroke and a brief battle with cancer. Funeral services were October 1 in the Restland Memorial Chapel.
He was born in Hunt County on Nov. 22, 1912. He graduated from Greenville High School and Southern Methodist University Cox School of Business. He retired in 1974 after 30 years with the Appellate Department Internal Revenue Service in Fort Worth and Dallas.
Mr. Duncan served in the SeaBees of the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was an active member of Fort Worth Poly Methodist, Hurst First Methodist and Lovers Lane United Methodist, having served on the board as chairman of the Church Board at Hurst.
He was an honorary member of the National Association of Federal Employees. He acted as treasurer of the Swingin Saints Square Dance Club and provided Volunteer Assistance with Property Tax and Income Tax consultation for senior citizens through programs sponsored by Dallas County and the AARP.
An avid baseball fan, he played in high school, college and and at amateur level, helping the Yellow Cab team win city and state titles. They represented Texas at the Amateur National Playoffs in 1940.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Catherine Lovell Duncan; three sons, Dr. Gary Woodrow of Plano, David Thomas of Dallas, and Dr. Joel Wesley of Florence, S.C.; two sisters, Thelma Luna of Greenville and Gladys Roof of Grand Prairie; a brother, Lee N. Duncan of North Palm Beach, Fla. and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas or a charity of choice.

Ila Golden
LEONARD - Funeral services for Ila Ready Golden, 95, of Leonard are at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel in Leonard with Charles Wrenn officiating. Burial is in the Burns Cemetery at Trenton.
She died Tuesday in the Smith Nursing Center in Wolfe City.
The daughter of William "Pat" Ready and Cora Johnson Ready, she was born March 7, 1903 in Leonard. She married Arnie Golden on Oct. 22, 1922 in Leonard. She was a member of the Leonard Church of Christ and was a homemaker.
Surviving are two sons, Billy Golden of Bailey and James Golden of Longview; sisters Helen Russell of Abilene and Jean Middaugh of Reston, Va.; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband preceded her in death in January 1969.
Pallbearers are Chester Jackson, Carnell Griffitt, Johnny Luttrell, Eldon Lowery, Nigel Savage and Wayne Mack Ready.
Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday.
Kenneth Henson
UVALDE - There was a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday for Kenneth Donald Henson, 61, of Uvalde in the Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary Chapel in Uvalde. Rev. Jerry Scott officiated.
He died Oct. 1 at University Hospital in San Antonio as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile-train accident in Uvalde that day.
Henson was born Sept. 20, 1937 in Caddo Mills to Mr. and Mrs. J.D. Henson. He married Ann Hickerson of Floydada on Jan. 26, 1957 in Plainview.
Surviving are his wife; his parents of Greenville; a daughter, Kenda Willoughby and husband, Trae, of San Antonio; two sons, Brent Henson and Bart Henson, both of Uvalde; one sister, Barbara Galloway of Canton and a grandson, Sam Willoughby.
Kenneth Miller
LEONARD - Funeral services for Kenneth Ray Miller, 71, of Celeste are at 10 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Celeste with Rev. Ricky Huggins officiating. Burial is in the Celeste Cemetery.
He died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.
The son of Joe Miller and Lula Moore Miller, he was born June 21, 1927 in Porter, Okla. He and Ruby Alderson were married Jan. 20, 1952 in Dallas. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Celeste and was a bus driver for a travel agency.
Surviving are his wife of Celeste; daughters Linda Spears of Oklahoma City, Okla., Debra Johnson of Commerce, Charlotte Miller of Dallas and Shellie Daugherty of Celeste; sons Robby Miller of Dallas and Mark Miller of Celeste; a sister, Mildred Hall of Muskogee, Okla.; three brothers, Elmer Miller of Eureka, Calif., Herbert Miller of Portland, Ore. and Donald Miller of Grants Pass, Ore. and three grandchildren.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Herbert Ozment
COMMERCE - Herbert Palace Ozment, 87, of Klondike died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Paris. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at the Church of Christ in Commerce with David Gibson officiating. Burial is in Oaklawn Cemetery in Cooper.
Born in Lebanon, Tenn. on July 24, 1911, he was the son of James Houston Ozment and Stella Ozment Cauley. He married Pearl Louise Bogan on Feb. 3, 1935 in Pecan Gap.
Mr. Ozment was a veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was a retired truck driver and he was a member of the Church of Christ in Commerce.
Surviving are a daughter, Linda Mason of Roxton; sons Herb Ozment of Ben Franklin and Eddie Ozment of Cedar Hill; a brother, Troy Cauley of Cooper; grandchildren Keith Ozment of Duncanville, Lisa Loso of Pasadena, Calif. and Tracy McQueary of Commerce and great-grandchildren, Abby McQueary of Commerce, Macy McQueary of Commerce, Alexis Ozment of Fort Worth and William Preston Ozment of Pasadena, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 28, 1985 and four brothers, Harley Ozment, Riley Ozment, Charlie Cauley and J.C. Cauley.
Pallbearers are Keith Ozment, Gary Cauley, Randy Cauley, Phil McQueary, Freddy Cauley and Greg Dillard.

Juanita Young, 76, of Greenville died Monday at her residence. Graveside services will be at Clinton Cemetery at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Robert Baldridge officiating.
She was born March 4, 1922 in Little Rock, Ark., daughter of Joe Young and Flora Mae Lambert Young. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Surviving are a sister, Oneta Putman of Paris and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers and two sisters.

Oliver Craver
Oliver M. Craver, 84, of Celeste, died Friday at Leonard Nursing Home in Leonard. Services are at 10 a.m. today at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Royce Litchfield officiating. Graveside services areat 3 p.m. at Piney Cemetery in Harrison County.
Mr. Craver was born June 6, 1914, in Harrison County to Walter Craver and Lillie Mae Anderson Craver. He married Vina Knoble Sept. 15, 1932 in Harrison County. He was a carpenter and farmer, and a member of the Church of God.
Surviving are sons Ronald Craver of Kellogg, Carol Ray Craver of Marshall, Oliver N. Craver of Euless, and Franky John Craver of Howe; daughters Bobbie Callaway of Kingston, Vianell Moore of Wolfe City, Marshall Horton of Kingston, and Terry Lynn Craver of Greenville; brother Joe Craver, of Palestine; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife on July 28, 1993; son Fred Clayton Craver; brothers Henry Craver, Volley Craver, Wilburn Craver, Paul William Craver, Carol Nelson Craver; and his parents.
Pallbearers are grandsons Buddy Mitchell, Jesse Farrar, Phillip White, Dewayne McDowell, Michael Craver, Brian Horton and Mike Batchlor.
Gladene Wilson
COMMERCE - Virgie Gladene Wilson, 81, of Commerce, died Friday. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Pemberton Funeral Chapel in Commerce with Dr. Bobby Tollison officiating. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery.
She was born Nov. 16, 1916, in Peerless to Albert T. and Mattie Lou Merrell Beadles. She married Aubrey L. Wilson in Commerce on Jan. 5, 1946.
Mrs. Wilson lived in Commerce for more than 50 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery for many years. She was self-employed, owning and managing various properties.
Surviving are her husband, of Commerce; a daughter, Betty Wilson, of Commerce; a son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Susan Wilson, of Dallas; two brothers, Elden Beadles, of Greenville, and Lonnie Beadles, of Commerce; four grandchildren, Tony Wilson, of Campbell, Lee Wilson, Denise Wilson and Elizabeth Dacus, of Dallas; and two great-grandchildren, Tate and Lindsay Wilson.
Pallbearers will be David Ayers, Bobby Clark, Mike King, Wyman Williams, Robert Stangl, and Lonnie Beadles.
