EMORY - Services for Rowena Waters, 85, of Emory, will be at 2 p.m. today in the Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Koerner officiating. Burial will be in Emory City Cemetery. She died Saturday at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
Born in Jacobia on Jan. 11, 1913, she was the daughter of William L. Fox and Alice Lee Lowery. She married Tom H. Waters in Greenville on Sept. 15, 1933. She was a homemaker and a member of Emory Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Tom Waters Jr. of Emory; a daughter, Marilyn Waters of Grand Prairie; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 27, 1993 and by a daughter on June 14, 1935.
Pallbearers include Bryan Waters, Jeremy Waters, J. C. Newland, Bill Garrett, Leroy Potts and Ernest Holman.

FARMERSVILLE - Hermencia Muniz Delgado, 85, of Farmersville died Thursday at Columbia Medical Center in McKinney. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church in Wylie with Father Morris officiating. Burial will be in the Farmersville I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
She was born in Tisdale on March 22, 1913, daughter of Crispin and Margarita Muniz. She married Antonio Delgado and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Delgado was a Catholic.
Surviving are four daughters, Eva L. Rodriguez, Emma DeLaFuente and Katherine DeLaFuente, all of Farmersville and Maria Marcias of Garland; a son, Nick Delgado of Farmersville and 26 grandchildren.

Louise Gipson
Louise Gipson of Dallas died Thursday at C.C. Young Memorial Center in Dallas. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike House officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.
Daughter of Charles Wesley Bryant and Alice Farrar Bryant, she was born in Hopkins County. She married Charles Dewey Gipson on Dec. 21, 1924 in Greenville. She attended East Texas Normal College and taught in Hunt County rural schools for several years. Mrs. Gipson was a retired businesswoman and a real estate agent. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and a member of the ALR Sunday School class. She was also a member of Eastern Star.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean Arnold of Commerce; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974, three brothers and four sisters.
Evelyn Moore
Evelyn Diane Moore, 35, of Greenville died Sunday in an automobile accident. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Bethel AME Church with Bobby Crosby officiating. Burial is in Grundy Memorial Park.

POINT - Edith Belle Jordan, 61, of Greenville died Wednesday at her home. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fisherman's Baptist Church with Dr. D. D. Ramsey officiating. Burial is in Hooker Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Jordan was born April 28, 1937, in Rolle, Ark.
Surviving are her husband, Bobby Jordan; son, Bob Jordan; five brothers, Travis Porterfield, Quincy Porterfield, Raymond Porterfield, Bobby Porterfield and Eugene Porterfield; two sisters, Billie Dickinson and Zelma Sheppard; one grandchild and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Bill Riley
QUINLAN - Bill Riley, 68, of Quinlan died Thursday at his home. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at LyBrand Quinlan Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Reagan officiating. Burial is at 2 p.m. in Pulaski Cemetery in New Boston.
Mr. Riley was born in Anson. He was a dispatcher for ATCO Services and a U.S. Army veteran; having served in the Korean War. he was a member of the Church of Christ at Lake Tawakoni.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Riley, of Quinlan; daughters, Toni Riley of Gainesville and Sandra Mathews of Garland; brothers, Bob Riley of Midland and Roy Riley of Blackwell; and five grandchildren.

Joe Hill
WOLFE CITY - Joe Ralph Hill, 68, of Wolfe City died suddenly Tuesday morning at his home. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Rev. Robert Renfro and Rev. Kevin Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
Born Aug. 30, 1930 in Wolfe City, he was the son of Grady and Effie Kincaide Hill. He married Earla Rhea Thomason on April 20, 1957 in Wolfe City. Mr. Hill was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He was a retired service station owner and he was a member of the Baptist Church in the Maxie Hall Community.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Joe Brantley and Tammie Hill and Bryant Edward and Angie Hill, all of Wolfe City; a sister, Jean Monroe of Wolfe City; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His wife preceded him in death on Aug. 8, 1997.
Pallbearers are Billy K. Sanders, Alton Williams, Hal Jobe, Dale Doyle, J.T. Thompson and Marcus Chamberlain. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be J.T. Thompson and Marcus Chamberlain.

Rufus Nutt
Rufus Sidney Nutt of Greenville died Tuesday. There is a graveside service at 10 a.m. Saturday at East Mount Cemetery with Rev. James Dodd officiating.
The son of Nathan Sidney Nutt and Willie Lee Lord, he was born Oct. 19, 1917 in Avery. He married Florine James on Feb. 4, 1949 in Amarillo. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II, 1942 to 1945.
Mr. Nutt owned a roofing business; he was retired. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; four sons, Ronnie Nutt of Throckmorton, Glen Nutt of Campbell, Johnny Nutt of Greenville and Eddie W. Nutt of Aldine; a daughter, Karen Sue Benthul of Quinlan; a brother, Albert Nutt of Snow, Okla.; two sisters, Jessie Haney of Memphis and Ruth Bell Hall of Randolph; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Nutt; two sisters and one brother.

DALLAS - Jeannette Odle DeColaines Whitworth of Commerce, formerly of McKinney, died Monday at Baylor Hospital in Dallas. There will be a Rosary at 7 p.m. today at Sparkman/Crane Funeral Home Chapel in Dallas.
Burial is at 2 p.m. Friday in Restland Memorial Park, Whispering Waters section, Dallas. There ia a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Commerce with Rev. D. Stanley Corcoran officiating.
She was born Aug. 17, 1918; east of McKinney. An avid genealogist, she volunteered her time to the McKinney Public Library for many years. She enjoyed sharing her artistic talents with family and friends.
She worked for McKissick and Slack Optometrists in McKinney and after her retirement, she moved to Commerce. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Commerce.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Nan DeColaines of High Shoals, Ga. and Kenneth and Patricia Whitworth of Frisco; daughter and son-in-law Priscilla and Charlie Jones of Commerce; a sister, LeAdrianne Murphy of Dallas; grandchildren Adrianne, William and Boyd Jones of Commerce, Jonathan DeColaines of Spartanburg, S.C. and DeAnn Wolfe of Dubai, U.A.E.; great-grandson Jacob Wolfe; one niece and four nephews.
Memorials may be made to the McKinney Public Library in her honor.

ROCKDALE - Graveside services for Homer Burns Jr., 66, of Greenville were at 2 p.m. Monday in Val Verde Cemetery near Davilla.
He died Friday in Greenville.
Mr. Burns was born in Holland.
Survivors are his children, Carol George, Kathy Davis, Karen Sue Burns, Linda Burns and Kelly Burns, all of California and Terry L. Clark of Quinlan; two brothers, Kenneth Burns of Odessa and Paul Burns of Lone Oak and two sisters, Melba Easterwood and Betty Lister, both of Quinlan.

Johnnie Copeland
COMMERCE - Johnnie Copeland, 88, of Commerce, died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce. There is a graveside service at 11 a.m. today at Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville with David Gibson officiating.
Mrs. Copeland was born July 25, 1910 in the Scatterbranch Community to Will Dunn and Dollie Dunn. She married Hoyt W. Copeland on Oct. 1, 1932 in Hugo, Okla.
She was a retired Western Union operator and a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by a daughter, Jane Hedden of Williamston, S.C.; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Her husband preceded her in death on March 14, 1988.

Charlie Johnson
GILMER - Charlie Johnson, 89, of Livingston, died Sunday. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Brother Bell officiating. Burial will be in Upshur County.
He was born June 29, 1909 in Upshur County. He married Myrtie Dee Nation on Oct. 16, 1934 in Livingston. He was a retired saw mill worker and had lived in the area most of his life. He was a Pentecostal.
Surviving are his wife of Livingston; five sons, Freddie Johnson, D.C. Johnson and Ronnie Johnson, all of Livingston and J.D. Johnson and Emery Johnson, both of Leggett; five daughters, Hazel Cole of Silsbee, Clarsie Dee Tips of Runge, Charlene Renfro of Camden, Ark., Mary Isham of Leonard and Frances Ann Ellis of Livingston; 33 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Charles Rayford Johnson and Donnie Joseph Johnson.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Julia McWhirter
COMMERCE - Julia Alice McWhirter, 100, of Commerce died Monday in Greenville. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike House officiating. Burial is in Rosemound Cemetery.
She was born March 2, 1898 in Jacobia; the daughter of George W. Horn and Mary Lee Henderson. She married Bill McWhirter on Feb. 7, 1921 in Fairlie.
Mrs. McWhirter grew up in the Fairlie Community and attend public schools and East Texas Normal College. After her husband's death Oct. 16, 1972, she moved to Commerce where she was an active member of the First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. McWhirter was a member of the Over 50's Club, a member of the Women's Culture Club; she was active in civic organizations, including Meals on Wheels. She received the annual Chamber of Commerce Golden Service Award in 1990 for 1989. She celebrated her 100th birthday in March with a large gathering of family and friends.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Billie and James Taggart of Greenville; daughter Mary Rust of Greenville; five grandchildren, Jim Taggart of Sulphur Springs, Bill Taggart of Commerce, Mary Mac McHam of Houston, Randi Hogland of Greenville and Rusty Rust of Houston; seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Pallbearers are Otha Spencer, Harry Icenhower, Clarence Jensen, Bob Draughn, Gene Castleberry, Allen Lynn Martin and Russell Armstrong. Honorary pallbearers are George Robinson, Bill Stones, James Faires, James Hoover, Joe Fred Cox, Harold Drake, Gene Leslie and Jim Kizer.

Lelon Rousey Jr.
WICHITA FALLS - Lelon McCord Rousey Jr., 70, formerly of Caddo Mills, of Wichita Falls died Sunday at Hospice Center. There is a funeral service at 10 a.m. today at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home Chapel in Wichita Falls with Rev. Fret Utz of St. Mark's United Methodist Church, Rev. Jim Goodwin of Trinity United Methodist Church in Denison and Chaplain Joe Heaton officiating. Burial is in Crestview Memorial Park with full military honors.
Mr. Rousey was born Oct. 21, 1928 in Caddo Mills. He attended Austin College and graduated from Wayland Baptist University. He retired from the U.S. Air Force where he served as a pilot. He was a survivor of the fighting at Chosin Reservoir with the First Marine Division.
Mr. Rousey had lived in Wichita Falls since 1973. He was manager of Smith's Gardentown for 14 years. Mr. Rousey was a member, chairman of the board and a member of the board of directors at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, a member of Southwest Lions Club and a volunteer at Southside Girls Club and the United Way.
Surviving are his wife, Anne Rousey, of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Sharon Ward of Garland and Lynda Fields of Wichita Falls; three sisters, Beulah Graham of Mesquite and Patsy Rousey and Linda Lou Campbell of Benton, Ark.; a brother, Warren Rousey of Josephine and four grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Southside Girls Club or to St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
E.T. Whitehead
McKINNEY - E.T. "Tommy" Whitehead, 56, of McKinney died Tuesday at his residence. Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Bryant officiating. Burial is at Ridgeview Memorial Park.
Mr. Whitehead was born Oct. 5, 1942, in Fort Worth; the son of Willie Ollen and Nora Lee Whitehead. He married Wanda Ganelle Vest on Nov. 12, 1964, in Vernon.
He worked as an engineer for Southwestern Bell for 26 years until his retirement in 1991. He also served with the U.S. National Guard from 1964 to 1969 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Prosper.
Surviving are his wife of McKinney; son and daughter-in-law, John and Kristin Whitehead of Frisco; daughter, Lorri Ann Whitehead of McKinney; two grandchildren; parents, of Greenville; and sisters, Nora McDonald and Laura Forbes, both of Greenville, and Cindy Herman of Berne, Ind.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

COMMERCE - Martin L. Hall, 62, of Beaumont, Calif., died Nov. 9. There is a memorial service at 3 p.m. Saturday at Abundant Life Assembly in Commerce with Arnold Parker officiating.
He was born Aug. 17, 1936; the son of Elmer Lee Hall and Lula Mae Hall.
Surviving are two daughters, Marshall King of Lake Dallas and Colleen Juarez of Sulphur Springs; two sons, Martie Hall of Bonham and James Hall of Lake Dallas; five sisters, Wanda Follis of Ridgeway, Magdaline Linsey and Margaret Turner of Commerce, Rose Dyckman of Nevada and Ruthie Boyer of California; two brothers, Edward Hall and James Hall, both of Commerce, and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Pauline Alvis.

She was born Friday in Plano, the daughter of Lawrence Ernest Jones and Shannon Leighann Jones.
Survivors include her parents; paternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Jones of Buffalo; maternal grandmother Emilie Channell of Corsicana and maternal grandfather Lanny Kelly of Era; great-grandparents, Pete and Dorothy Rice of Cash and Estelle Kelley of Era; a brother, Trevor Lawrence Jones of Cash and a sister, Kori Leighann Jones of Cash.

FARMERSVILLE - Johnny Dee Lake, 79, of Wolfe City died Sunday in Bonham. There is a graveside service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Merit Cemetery with Janice Luke, Linda Fields and Jesse James officiating.
He was born May 18, 1919, in White Rock to John L. and Dora Phillips Lake. He served in the U.S. Army and he was a carpenter.
Mr. Lake is survived by a daughter, Janice Luke of Wolfe City; a son, Jimmy Luke of Wolfe City; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
