Aquanettia La'Shay Stephenson of Greenville died Monday in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Elem Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Hood officiating. Burial is in Grundy Memorial Park.
She was born in Dallas on June 24, 1998 to Terry Rogers and Shenae Stephenson.
She is survived by her father of Commerce; her mother of Greenville; grandparents Eddie and Sandra Stephenson of Greenville and Patsy Rogers of Mount Pleasant and great-grandparents Emma McKinzie and Earl Phelps of Greenville, Beulah Hollway of Gilmer and Emma Stephenson of Daingerfield.

CADDO MILLS - Adrien Tate, 52, of Caddo Mills died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Caddo Mills with Rev. Timothy Warren officiating. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Caddo Mills.
The son of Willie Andrew and Trudie Smith Tate, he was born Sept. 15, 1946 in Royse City. He married Kay Stevens on Oct. 8, 1966 in the First Baptist Church in Caddo Mills. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Tate was a business analyst with Raytheon Systems for 30 years.
He was a member of the Lake Point Baptist Church and Mustang Club of America. He served on the Caddo Mills School Board for six years and was a member of the Caddo Mills Jaycees.
Surviving are his wife of Caddo Mills; his mother of Caddo Mills; two daughters, Shaney Barrett and Deidre McGinn, both of Caddo Mills; a brother, Ferris Tate of Greenville; a sister, Betty Jo Adair of Emory and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Pallbearers are Marvin Rector, Woody Garmon, Ray Pitman, Gerald Cotten, Bobby Putman and Ron Ponto. Honorary pallbearers are Ed Putman, Thad Watson and Merle Watson.
Memorials may be made in Mr. Tate's name to Scholarship Fund, Caddo Mills High School.

Elmer Champion
POINT - Graveside services for Elmer L. Champion, 79, of Mesquite are at 2 p.m. Friday at Forbis Cemetery with Gene Witt officiating. He died Tuesday at Green Acres Nursing Home.
He was born in Lone Oak on Sept. 5, 1919. Mr. Champion was a retired truck driver.
Surviving are three brothers, Charlie Champion, William Champion and Jimmie Champion and two sisters, Junehia Chimene and Louis McClellan.

Lois Lewis
Lois Lacy Lewis, 101, died Monday in Wimberley. Services are at 2 p.m. today in the First Methodist Church in Celeste with Rev. Ricky Huggins officiating. Burial is in Lane Cemetery.
She was born Aug. 11, 1897 in Lancaster to E.C. and Eva Lacy. The family moved to the Lane community near Celeste in 1907. She attended Lane School and then attended Wesley College in Greenville where she received her teaching certification. She taught in rural schools in North Texas including Campbell, Petty, White Rock, Merit and Lane. She married Henry F. "Pat" Lewis in 1922.
In 1949 she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from East Texas State Teachers College and her Masters degree in 1951. She continued teaching until 1962 when she retired from Celeste schools. She began writing a human interest column for the Celeste Courier and continued writing for the Leonard Graphic. Mrs. Lewis was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church.
The Celeste PTA awarded a life membership to Mrs. Lewis in 1977. In 1979 the Lois Lacy Community Service Award was initiated and she was named the Outstanding Citizen that year. She was also honored with Lois Lacy Lewis Day in Celeste in 1979.
In 1990, she was named a Hunt County Treasure and rode in the countywide parade. In 1994 she was the first nominee to the Blue Devil Hall of Fame, honoring her and the 1921-22 girls' basketball team.
Surviving are three children, James Lacy Lewis of Hemet, Calif., Betty Lewis Law of Belmont, Mass. and Patsy Lewis Jacobs of Wimberley; six grandchildren, Lynn Rogers of Upland, Calif., Paula Tobin of Lake Elsinore, Calif., Liz Law of New York, N.Y., Amy Law of Boston, Mass., Kathy Krotzer of Saudi Arabia and Karen Jacobs of Austin; eight great-grandchildren, Tim, Tammy and Jason Rogers, Jeff Stover, Geri, Galo, Neil and Brent Krotzer and Samantha Mercer and seven great-great-grandchildren, Sydney and Samantha Rogers, James, Taylor and Tyler Stover and Amber and Sara Galo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her husband.
Memorials may be made to the First Methodist Church, Celeste.

Weldon Little
Weldon Earl Little, 56, of Greenville died Tuesday in a motor vehicle accident. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Ballard and Rev. Hollis Crow officiating. Burial is in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Born in Hunt County on March 18, 1942, he was the son of Willie Fleming Little and Sibyl Hancock. He and Cora Sumner were married Dec. 25, 1966 in Greenville. Mr. Little was employed by Little Sand and Gravel. He was a member of the Assembly of God.
He is survived by his wife of Greenville; a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph R. and Leanne Little of Greenville and son, Michael Scott Thrift of Euliss; three brothers, Joe Little of Greenville, Jim Little of Cooper and Glen Little of Quinlan; two sisters, Wanda Boyd of Greenville and Dorcas Bedford of Joshua and five grandchildren.
His parents and one sister preceded him in death.
Pallbearers are Marvin Bagwell, Mike Coyle, Roger Braley, Bill Wilson, Eddie Lewis and Rev. Raymon Windham.

Rev. Joe Newby
Rev. Joe Newby of Sulphur Springs died Tuesday at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. Graveside services are at 4 p.m. today at Memoryland Memorial Park with Rev. Mike Shields officiating.
He was born April 28, 1909 in Ryan, Okla. to E.L. Newby and Emily Grubbs Newby. He married Helen Veal on May 7, 1927 in Decatur; she preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 1990. He married Elaine Daugherty on Dec. 14, 1990 in Greenville. She preceded him in death on Nov. 19, 1996.
Rev. Newby was a retired minister. He was a member of Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by daughters Bobbye Jean Hancock of Texarkana and Jo Nell Holmes of Trenton; a brother, Archie Newby of Anderson, Mo.; a sister, Iva Putnam of North Carolina and grandchildren Joe Edwin Hancock of Wynne, Ark. and Lana Jill Winkler of The Grove.
A twin brother preceded him in death.

WILLS POINT - Stephen Dwane Foster, 23, of Edgewood died Saturday in Wills Point. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at the Allen Fuller Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Barrett officiating. Burial is in Ellis Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Foster was born Oct. 28, 1975, in Jackson, Miss.; the son of Dwane and Bonnie Jo McLeod Foster. He was married to Milisa Thompson on April 23, 1994, in Edgewood.
Mr. Foster was a graduate of Edgewood High School and a Baptist. He was employed as a welder.
Surviving are his wife of Edgewood; daughter, Christin Haylie Foster of Edgewood; parents, of Edgewood; brothers, Johnny Foster of Tempe, Ariz. and Shawn Foster of Wills Point; grandmothers, Willie Murphy of Mabank and Eva "Nannie" Foster of Edgewood; and uncle and aunt, Charles and Mae Taylor of Greenville.

WOLFE CITY - Charles Dean Glover, 62, of Wolfe City died in his home Saturday after a lengthy illness. No services are planned.
He was born March 20, 1936 in Mineral Springs , Ark., to Jack Glover and Thelma Bryant Glover. He married Margie Ann Morris on April 19, 1957 in Pleasant Hill.
Mr. Glover was a veteran of the Korean War and retired from the Rubbermaid Company.
Surviving are his wife, of Wolfe City; daughter, Roxanna Glover, of White Rock; mother, of Durant, Okla.; brothers, David Glover and Alfred Glover, both of Durant, Okla.; and a half-sister, Jalene Glover.

KEMP - D.T. Landreth of Seagoville, died Thursday in a Dallas hospital. Graveside services are today at 3 p.m. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Quinlan with Rev. Brent Franks officiating.
He was born April 27, 1908 to Royd and Minnie Prince Landreth. He was a member of the Carpenters Union and owned and operated many grocery stores. Mr. Landreth was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Betty Wright of Kemp, Joy Holdman of Desdamona, Sue Vinson of Kemp and Kay Pratt of Denton; a brother, R.J. Landreth of Waxahachie; 23 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Landreth and two sons, Roy and D.T. Landreth Jr.

Born May 5, 1918 in Collin County, she was the daughter of Jim C. Holder and Tommie Lee Evans Holder. She and Vester Langham were married Nov. 20, 1939 in Hunt County. Mrs. Langham was a homemaker and she was a Baptist.
She is survived by her husband of Celeste; a brother, Robert E. Holder of Richardson; a sister, Pauline Jones of Duncanville and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, James Alton Langham and Billy Ray Langham.
Pallbearers are Mickey Money, Harold Bird, David Bird, Ralph Bates. Alfred Langham and Shaae Bird.
Charlie Methvin
Graveside services for Charlie R. Methvin, 83, of Greenville will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Memoryland Memorial Park with Rev. James Ralson officiating.
He died Friday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.
Born Oct. 4, 1915 in Cullman, Ala., he was the son of Lemial Methvin and Ora Handly Methvin. He married Estella Hollis on April 11, 1942 in Columbia, S.C. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Methvin was a heavy equipment crane operator. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife of Greenville; two sons, David Methvin of Texas City and Rodney Methvin of Waco; three daughters, Rosemary Adams of Celeste, Janice Heilman of Rochester, Wash. and Jo Anne Robinson of Garland; a sister, Virginia Wesenberger of Lima, Ohio; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Patricia Pruitt
Patricia Ann Roach Pruitt, 53, of Midland, formerly of Greenville and Celeste, died Thursday at Baylor Hospital in Dallas from multiple myeloma. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the First United Methodist Church in Midland. There will be a memorial service at Peters Funeral Home in Greenville at 4 p.m. Wednesday with Rick Henslee of Johnson Street Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Celeste Cemetery.
She was born July 27, 1945 in Greenville, daughter of Theda Giles and Howard Lynn Roach Sr. After graduating from Celeste High School and East Texas State University, she taught school in Celeste, Robert Lee, Wellington, Staton, Hereford, Lubbock and Midland, spanning a 31-year career in education. She retired at the end of the 1998 school term and was honored in Midland with a proclamation and designation of "Pat Pruitt Day," on May 15, 1998. Mrs. Pruitt was a member of the Midland First United Methodist Church and the Joan Weir Sunday School class.
Survivors include her husband of thirty years, David Ward Pruitt of Midland; a daughter, Jana Alison Pruitt Shipp of Midland; sons John David Pruitt and Charles Tyler Pruitt of Midland; her mother of Wolfe City; sisters Sara Sue Roach Swindell and Alice Lucille Roach Garcia of Celeste; a brother, Howard Lynn Roach Sr. of Whitewright and other relatives and friends.

CUMBY - Funeral services for Mrs. Flora Strickland, 89, of Sulphur Springs, are at 2 p.m. today in the First Baptist Church of Cumby. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
She died Thursday at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
Born July 4, 1909 in Cumby, she was the daughter of Leondias "Lee" and Caldonia Douglas Bowen. She married Claude Luke Strickland on Sept. 2, 1926 in Commerce.
Surviving are four sons, Billy Claude Strickland of Cumby, Earl Dean Strickland of Borger, Howard Lee Strickland of Greenville and Jerry Wayne Strickland of Sulphur Springs; four daughters, Jean Rose of Sweetwater, Wynona Faye Lewis of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mary Evelyn Claxton of Sulphur Springs and Penny Shelton of Winnsboro; a brother, William Douglas Bowen of El Paso; 27 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975, a son, a daughter, a brother, two sisters, one grandchild and one great-great-grandchild.

The daughter of Jessie Benjamin Redman and Martha Willingham, she was born in the Horton Community on June 30, 1921. She married Elton Robert Brookshire in the Horton Community on Dec. 29, 1935. A seamstress, she retired from Lieter-Marlin.
Survivors include her husband of Commerce; sons Charles Brookshire of Commerce and Jimmy Brookshire of Paris; daughters Janice Banks of Greenville and Sylvia Eaton of Commerce; sisters Opal Coffman of Commerce, Lizzie Myers of Cumby, Lena Hammrick of Campbell and Francis Foust of Oklahoma; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one-great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Roger Brookshire, on April 28, 1992.

Elwayne Perry
Elwayne Perry, 75, of Greenville died Thursday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. A memorial service may be held at a later date.
The son of John C. Perry and Myrtle Quinn Perry, he was born May 2, 1923 in Greenville. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Perry was a retired aircraft mechanic with E-Systems. He was a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are a brother, Francis L. Perry of Greenville; two sisters, Inez Gray of Greenville and Lorene Hall of Richardson and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Laurene L. Johnston Perry, in 1988, his parents and two brothers.
