Sammie Joe Taylor of Greenville died Saturday in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at True Vine Baptist Church with Rev. V.L. Maxwell. Burial is in East Mount Cemetery.
He was born in Lone Oak on Oct. 31, 1929, son of Gomar and Leona Smith Taylor. He married Virginia Thomas on March 10, 1990 in Rockwall. Mr. Taylor was a truck driver and was a part time employee of Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home; he was retired. He was a member of True Vine Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; four stepsons, Raymond Kinchen Jr., John T. Kinchen and Jessie Kinchen, all of Greenville and Curtis Williams of Sulphur Springs; three daughters, Rosie Henry of Celeste and Vernell Isabella and Jeraldine Taylor of Sherman and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sons.
Pallbearers are Roy Lee Williams, Fonzell Hoskins, Robert Black, Roy L. Williams, Larry Williams, R.C. Cannon, Eddie L. Brown and Bonnie B. Cole.

Thomas Wyatt
FARMERSVILLE - Thomas Benjamin Wyatt, 88, of Princeton died Thursday at McKinney Medical Center. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Fielder-Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Farmersville with Nelson McCord officiating. Burial is in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Princeton.
The son of William Jackson Wyatt and Mary Morrow Wyatt, he was born in Princeton on July 20, 1910. He married Josephine Lyday in 1934. Mr. Wyatt was a painter. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty Holloway of Farmersville; three sons, Jackie Wyatt of Farmersville, Edwin Wyatt of Sachse and Tommy Wyatt of Princeton; a brother, Joe Wyatt of Farmersville; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Lonnie Fuller
LEONARD - Lonnie Fuller, 79, of Garland died Wednesday at his home. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Friday at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is in the Leonard Cemetery.
Mr. Fuller was born May 12, 1919, in Delba; the son of George Allie and Bettie Atwood Fuller. He married Gene Swafford on Sept. 1, 1945, in Trenton. A former Leonard resident, he was a retired mechanic and a member of the Teamsters Union.
Surviving are his wife of Garland; daughter, Linda Smith of Rowlett; sons, Roger Fuller of Dallas and Steve Fuller of Lone Oak; sisters, Florence Broyles of Mesquite, Louella Sudderth of Leonard, Veatrice Brewer and Ima Sadler, both of Fresno, Calif., and Nell Freeman of Grand Prairie; six grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Gerald Malone, Ted DeWoody, Gary Rice, Buddy Flowers, Jerry Atkinson and Jessie Tamez.
Memorials may be made to a local cancer society.
Gay Humphries
COMMERCE - Funeral services for Gay Humphries, 82, of Commerce are at 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Commerce with Rev. Mike House officiating. Burial is in Rosemound Cemetery.
He died Tuesday.
Born in Yowell on Oct. 17, 1916, he was the son of Marion Riley Humphries and Mariah Bertha Braddock. He and Melba Elizabeth Traylor were married Oct. 23, 1937; she preceded him in death in 1967. He married Fannie Ruth Robnett on June 21, 1968.
Mr. Humphries was a lifetime resident of Commerce and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He attended schools in Yowell and Commerce. He was a former member of the Odd Fellows. He was a farmer most of his life.
Surviving are four sons, Tony Humphries and Roger Humphries, both of Cumby, Bob Humphries of Ben Loman, Ark. and Bill Humphries of Tyler; two daughters, Alta Fay Peden of Commerce and Linda Gale Bussa of Dallas; two sisters, Ocie Jackson of Commerce and Lois Varnell of Paris; a brother, Alvin Humphries of Commerce; 12 grandchildren, Brad, Jon, Chad, Tommy, Terri and Charles Humphries, Jamie Honeycutt and Jacque Clemons, Brooke Mitchell and Kerri Miles, Toni Lee and Karen Dodson; 10 great-grandchildren, Shannon Clemons and Casey Lee, Toby and Tyler Humphries, Kody and Mariah Miles, Kyle and Pace Honeycutt and Angie and Destiny Dodson and a great-great-grandson, Collin Dodson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his second wife in 1993; two brothers, Carl Humphries and Roy Humphries; a daughter, Tilly Farrell Humphries in 1939 and a grandson, Jim Ed Humphries in 1973.
Pallbearers are Tommy Humphries, Jon Humphries, Chad Humphries, Brad Humphries, Charles Humphries and John D. Miles.

Willie Majors
EMORY - Willie S. Majors, 95, of Frankston, died Tuesday at Frankston Health Care Center. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. today at Lynch Cemetery with Rev. Randy Wallace officiating.
The daughter of L.O. "Bud" and Mary Ogburn Stockton, she was born July 28, 1903 in Rains County. She married Walter N. Majors in 1921 in McKinney. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Arrie A. and Helen Majors of Emory; a daughter, Lou Della Majors Heath of Frankston; two sisters, Artie Ree Henderson and Mollie Henderson, both of California; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1982.
Great-grandsons are pallbearers.

James Mitcham
COMMERCE - James Carter Mitcham, 91, of Commerce died Tuesday. There is a graveside service at 9 a.m. Friday in Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Roswell, N.M.
Born in Alvord on July 1, 1907, he was the son of Wilson Mitcham and Agate Rhoades. He moved to Commerce in 1982 to be near relatives. He was employed at a pipeline company and retired in 1965. Mr. Mitcham served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Africa.
He is survived by two nieces, Elizabeth Bennett of Commerce and Billie Cupit of Mount Vernon and several great-nieces and nephews.
His wife, Lois Jean Mitcham, preceded him in death in 1979.

Nathaniel Uland
FRISCO - Nathaniel Lee Uland, 1-1/2 , of Frisco died Tuesday at his family residence. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. today at Preston Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Broudrick and Rev. Gerald Griffin officiating. Burial is in Ridgeview West Memorial Park.
He was born June 13, 1997, in Dallas to Daniel Bryan and Caril Lynn Uland.
Surviving are his parents of Frisco; sister, Rebekah Uland of Frisco; brother, Austin Uland of Frisco; grandparents, Jarrell and Shirley Peach of Lewisville and Larry and Charlene Uland of Farmersville; great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Peach of Lewisville, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Uland and Emma Lee Myers, all of Farmersville; and a great-great aunt, Erna Winston of Dallas.

LONE OAK - Tommie Dell Hennen, 74, died Sunday at Park Haven Nursing Home after a long illness. Graveside services were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hooker Cemetery with Rev. Lloyd McKinney officiating and Rev. Jimmy Rose assisting.
Mrs. Hennen was born Dec. 16, 1923 in Lone Oak to Tom and Della Roberts Harris. In November 1946 she married W.C. Hennen in Dallas. She was a housewife and a Baptist.
Surviving are a sister, Mary Jo Warrick of Greenville and nieces Gaye Hooten of Point and Judy Warrick and Jo Ann Wade of Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Nelcine Bailey and Margaret Lee and a nephew, Freddie Lee.
Pallbearers are David Brumit, Joe Ben Crabtree, Mont Payne, Dan Reding, Dan Weatherly and Cecil Clark.

Jeanne Mays
Funeral services for Jeanne Hoffman Mays of Dallas are at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Embree Hall of First Baptist Church in Dallas with Rev. Alan Lynch officiating. Burial is in Laurel Land in Dallas.
Mrs. Mays died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.
The daughter of Francis Hoffman and Gertrude Chrisman Hoffman, she was born March 31, 1923 in West Chester, Pa. She and Fulbright Mays married Nov. 10, 1945 in West Chester. She was a homemaker.
A member of First Baptist Church in Dallas, she was a member of the Sanctuary Choir for more than 25 years. She also sang in church choirs in Houston and sang solos and in a trio in Tulsa, Okla.
Surviving are her husband of Dallas; two sons, Neal Wellington Mays of Celeste and Paul Francis Mays of Dallas; a daughter, Martha Jeanne White of Richardson; a brother, Paul Hoffman of Coatesville, Pa.; and eight grandchildren .
Preceding her in death were an infant son, John Fulbright Mays and her oldest son, Steven Griffin Mays in 1996.

Noble McGinn
CADDO MILLS - Rev. Noble E. McGinn, 86, of Commerce died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Full Gospel Worship Center with Rev. Richard Ham and Tommy Lance officiating. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Rev. McGinn was born Oct. 16, 1912, in Harrison, Ark. to David and Ada Mankin McGinn. He married Lora Chambers on March 28, 1934, in Leveland and she preceded him in death in December, 1989. He then married Lila Talley on Jan. 9, 1993 in Caddo Mills.
He was the minister at the Full Gospel Worship Center, retiring in 1989 after 50 years.
Surviving are his wife of Commerce; son, Jerry McGinn of Caddo Mills; stepson, Stanford Talley of Commerce; daughters, June Hill, Joyce Reeves, Beth Chapman and Sandra Casey, all of Caddo Mills; brother, David McGinn of Fairfield; sisters, Cordelia Johnson of Las Cruces, N.M. and Elena Wimms of Oregon; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Noble McGinn in August, 1982; brothers, Kenneth McGinn and Vernon McGinn in 1987; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Matt McGinn, Adam McGinn, Jeff Chapman, Wade Chapman, Steven Reeves and Bobby Bragg. Honorary pallbearers are Stanford Talley, John Talley and Steven Talley.

Flora McHugh
CADDO MILLS - Flora Lyday McHugh, 97, of Dallas, formerly of Caddo Mills died Monday in Marble Falls. Graveside services are at 1 p.m. today at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Rev. David Stern of Faith Bible Church in Caddo Mills officiating.
Born Jan 10, 1901 in Hunt County, she was the daughter of Sarah A. and Thomas Culver. She retired from the Reserve Life Insurance Co. in Dallas. Mrs. McHugh was a member of First Methodist Church in Dallas.
Surviving are stepsons Edgar Lee McHugh of San Antonio and Billy McHugh of Dallas; two daughters, Reba Burstien of Marble Falls and Wanda Payne of Caddo Mills; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lyday in 1941; her second husband, Edgar McHugh in 1959 and a son, Hank Lyday in 1989.

The son of Odeal G. South Sr. and Vivian Lee South, he was born March 25, 1934 in Tyra.

Mrs. Henshaw was born March 25, 1906 in Emory, daughter of James and Ora Wheeless. She was a longtime member of Birchman Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Clyde "Jack" and Mary Lou of Fort Worth; grandchildren Dr. C.V. Henshaw Jr. and Robert Howie Henshaw of Fort Worth and Linda Kaye Tucker of Choctaw, Okla.; four great-grandchildren Michelle Duke of Lewisville, Eve Henshaw of Fort Worth and B.J. Mathias and Jeff Tucker of Oklahoma and a great-great grandson, Warren Duke Jr. of Lewisville.

CADDO MILLS - Gary Don McCommas, 47, of Garland died Sunday in Mesquite. Graveside services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery with Rev. Richard Ham officiating.
Born in Dallas, he was the son of Rayford and Lois Edwards McCommas. He worked in construction.
He is survived by his mother of Garland; two daughters, Jennifer McCommas of Dallas and Brandi McCommas of Garland; brothers Richard and Stephen McCommas of Garland and Terry McCommas of Crandall and a sister, Patricia Wright of Garland.
His father preceded him in death March 19, 1997.

Kathleen Owens
WOLFE CITY - Kathleen Butler Owens, 77, of Mesquite, longtime resident of Wolfe City, died Sunday following a lengthy illness. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Wolfe City with Rev. Robert Butler and Rev. Kevin Mitchell officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
The daughter of Roy L. and Ethel Stokes Butler, she was born Oct. 10, 1921 in Leonard. She and Sim Frances Owens Jr. were married Oct. 14, 1939 in Leonard. She was a member of Hickory Creek Baptist Church in the Hickory Creek Community. Mrs. Owens was a homemaker.
Surviving are two sons, Dwight R. Owens of Carmel, Ind. and Paul F. Owens of Mesquite; a daughter, Judith Gail Luttrell of Jefferson; her mother of Whitney; three sisters, Glenna Patterson of Salinia, Colo., Nell Street of Fort Worth and Elsie Dotson of Kerrville; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Kenneth Thornton, Joel Thornton, Gerald Owens, Paul Lyon, Jimmy Felty and Ernest Norris.

Henry Claudis Ramsey
Henry Claudis Ramsey, 61, of Caddo Mills, died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at The Word Church in Caddo Mills with Revs. Claudine and Curtis Rust officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Mr. Ramsey was born in Arkansas on April 8, 1937, the son of Thomas Gifford and Mattie Mae Neal Ramsey. He married Geraldine Murphy on Sept. 11, 1978, in Jonesboro, Ark. He was a blacksmith and welder, owning and operating the Blue Goose Welding Shop. Mr. Ramsey was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a volunteer firefighter for 27 years, having served as fire chief of the Caddo Mills department.
Surviving are his wife; sons Richard Murphy and Gary Murphy of Walnut Ridge, Ark., and Edward Murphy and Shane Murphy of Caddo Mills; daughters Regina Sanders of Greenville, Sue Hancock, Denise Murphy and Janey Straub of Paragould, Ark., and Nadine Widger of St. Louis, Mo.; a brother, Clarence Ramsey of Greenville, and 31 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers George, Weiland and Damon, and a sister, Linda.
Pallbearers will be Joe Griggs, J.B. Long, Howard Burton, Johnny Pemberton, Buel Ray Bentley and Jerry Don Woods. Honorary pallbearers are Earl Bryant and Tommy Griggs.

Betty L. Shaw
Visitation for Betty L. Shaw, 76, of Greenville will be from 7-9 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home. Services and burial will be at Tomlinson Funeral Home in Seven Points.
She was born on June 4, 1922, in Guthrie, Okla. She lived in the Cedar Creek area for 15 years, moving from Garland.
Survivors are a son and daughter-in-law, Victor and Rosemary Show of Greenville, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verne, and a daughter, Susan.
