Morris Edwin Foster, 77, of Dallas died Monday at Baylor Medical Center. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wilbur Benningfield and Dr. Ray Boulter officiating. There is a graveside service at 3 p.m. at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas.
The son of L. Ed Foster and Hester Jane Fagg Foster, she was born Nov. 9, 1921 in Caddo Mills. He graduated from Caddo Mills High School. He married Gladys Jones in 1966 in Dallas. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Foster was a partner of the Erwin-Foster Feed Store in Greenville, he retired from Rubenstein Foods in Dallas and he was an accountant for H&R Block. He was a Baptist and a member of Greenville Masonic Lodge 335.
Surviving are his wife of Dallas; a son Billy Dale Foster of Beaumont; daughter and son-in-law Gloria and Butch Mitchell of Greenville; daughters, Gloria Mitchell of Greenville, Janis Tucker of Dallas and Joan Duncan of Lufkin; a sister, Joyce Robinson of Smithville; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Visitation is from 5-7 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Julia Gilliam
FORT WORTH - Julia S. Gilliam, 69, of Haltom City died Monday. There is a memorial service at 2 p.m. Thursday at Haltom City Church of the Nazarene.
She was born Aug. 6, 1929 in Charleston, W.Va. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are sons Gary Stephen Dunlap of Washington and Paul C. Blizzard, Del Ray Gilliam and Preston Gilliam of Fort Worth; daughters Freddie Blizzard of Fort Worth, Maggie Morrison of Greenville and Edwina Byers of St. Louis; a sister, Lura Jane Winslet; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Patt Ketcham
ROCKWALL - Patt Ketcham, 74, of Lewisville died Saturday. No services are planned.
She was born Feb. 22, 1925 in Paris. She worked as a seamstress in the clothing industry.
Surviving are a daughter, Charlotte Tucker of Lewisville, son J.R. Wilson of San Dimas, Calif. and a brother, Will Thomas of Strong, Ark.

Agnes Lawhon
FORT WORTH - Mrs. Agnes L. Lawhon, 81, of Fort Worth died Monday. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shannon T.C.U. Funeral Chapel. Burial is in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth.
She was born in Cooper on July 17, 1917. She was a member of the Kumdule Sunday School Class of University United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Lawhon was a member of the Fort Worth Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Fort Worth Women's Club and the Penelope Club. She retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 30 years of service.
Surviving are a son, Michael A. Shelton; brother Lancy L. Leake and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray H. Lawhon.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m today at Shannon TCU Funeral Chapel in Fort Worth.
Elmer Luttrull
A graveside service for Elmer Ray Luttrull, 81, of Greenville is at 2 p.m. today at Memoryland Memorial Park with Dr. Deron Biles officiating.
He died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.
The son of Robert T. Luttrell and Maggie Graves Luttrell, he was born July 6, 1917 in Hopkins County. He was a retired aircraft mechanic from Tinker Field, Okla. Mr. Luttrull was a Baptist.
He is survived by a son, Mike Luttrull of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two daughters; a brother, Floyd Luttrell of Greenville, S.C.; sisters-in-law Lucy Luttrell of Greenville, Mary Luttrell of Ruston, La., Mamie Parks of Princeton, Mildred Luttrell of Greenville, S.C. and Lillian Luttrell of Wolfe City and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by eight brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers are B.L. Currin, L.B. Ray, Alvin Parks, John Curry, Bob Briscoe and Simon Copeland.
Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. until time of service today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Jackie Montgomery
Jackie L. Montgomery, 43, of Greenville died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John McGill officiating. Burial is in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Quinlan.
Born July 4, 1955 in Kaufman County, she was the daughter of Jack Horton and Sylvania Birchfield Horton. She and Robert Montgomery were married April 30, 1992 in Greenville. She was a homemaker and she was a Baptist.
She is survived by her husband of Greenville; a son, Thomas Bates of Greenville and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father Oct. 13, 1998; her mother on Feb. 3, 1998 and a brother, Tommy Horton on Aug. 20, 1974.
Pallbearers will be Milton Sassar, Billy Cook, Clay Moody, Paul Horton, Darrin Horton and Dewayne Horton.

Jerry Tanton
Jerry Ray Tanton, 60, of Greenville, died Monday at his residence. There is a graveside service at 3:30 p.m. today at Forest Park Cemetery with Rev. James Grider officiating.
The son of Melvin Tanton Sr. and Zora Hilburn Tanton, he was born Jan. 30, 1939 in Greenville. Mr. Tanton was a custodial engineer and he was a Baptist.
Surviving are his father of Greenville; a son, Timothy Wayne Tanton of Caddo Mills; brothers Melvin Tanton Jr. of Rockwall, Wayne Tanton of Waxahachie and David Tanton of Greenville; and three sisters, Linda Causey of Greenville, Lisa Vestal of Lewisville and Margaret Fouse of Rockwall.
He was preceded in death by his mother, one sister and one brother.
Pallbearers are Scott Stringer, Dru Fouse, William Tanton, Virgil Fouse, Rev. James Grider and James Causey.

George Drew
George R. Drew, 80, of Greenville, died Saturday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services were Monday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Mike Nichols and Rev. Joel Bench officiating. Burial was in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Mr. Drew was born April 12, 1918, in Paradise; the son of Rev. E. A. and Lula Craig Drew. He married Bennie Perry on May 23, 1942, in Greenville. He graduated from Wylie High School in 1935 and received his bachelors and masters of arts degrees from North Texas University in 1939 and 1940, respectively.
Mr. Drew served in the U.S. Army in the Fourth Service Command Band and was a member of the band that played for the first United Nations organization meeting in 1945 in San Francisco.
He was the band director in Grand Saline from 1936 to 1942, Vanderbilt in 1946, Portales, N.M., 1946 to 1953, and Nacona, from 1953 to 1955, before coming to Greenville in that year and started the junior high band program.
He served in that capacity until 1968; retiring from the Greenville Independent School District in 1983.
Mr. Drew was the organist at Central Christian Church for 18 years.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; sons, Walter Drew of Shreveport, La. and Ronald Drew of DeSoto; grandchildren, Regan Drew of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Stacibeth Drew and Ryan Drew, both of Shreveport, La.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Pallbearers were G.E. Vaughn, Carl Hollyman, Bob Knudson, John Bench, Randy Tarpley and John Ferguson. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Bench, Dr. Keith Bearden, T.S. Lamb, Avon Chandler and Chandler Sprinkle.
Ina Shuler
Ina Faye Shuler, 93, of Greenville died Sunday at Pythian Home for Aged Citizens. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Dr. David Stubblefield and Rev. Eddie Smith officiating. Burial is in Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Born in Leesburg on March 1, 1906, she was the daughter of Ira Almond Hardaway and Carrie Ada Fenn Hardaway. She was married to Walter Leo Shuler on Dec. 24, 1929 in Caddo Mills.
A lifelong teacher and educator, she was a graduate of Burleson College, Mary Hardin-Baylor and East Texas State University. She was a classroom teacher and the first speech-language pathologist for the Greenville Independent School District.
Mrs. Shuler was a charter member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. She was a life member of Texas Speech-Language-Hearing Association and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, James Leo and Cleta Shuler of Greenville; a daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy Jeanne and Bill Bearding of Greensboro, N.C.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 18, 1969; a brother, William Henry Hardaway on Dec. 2, 1994 and an infant brother, Ira Frank Hardaway on Sept. 19, 1923.
Pallbearers are E.B. Sorrells, Danny Forson, Cliff Riggins, Charles Lynch, Bill Baker and Lowell Lawson. Paul Mathews and Clarence Pearce will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Ethel Smith
Ethel Jean Smith, 71, of Houston, formerly of Greenville, died Saturday at Memorial Southwest Hospital in Houston. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at Peters Funeral Home with Rev. James Nance officiating. Burial will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.
She was born Jan. 7, 1928 in Childress to Smith Augustus Jones and Earle Cittion Stewart. She was a retired office manager for Austin Construction Company.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Greenville Chapter 189.
Surviving are a daughter, Billie Earline Bynum of Houston and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherrahl Smith, and two sons, Ricky and Rocky Smith.
Jack Arnold
PECAN GAP - Jack Arnold, 82, of Pecan Gap died Saturday at Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center in Bonham. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Laymon and Rev. Richard Nichols officiating. Masonic graveside services are at the New Klondike Cemetery in Klondike.
Mr. Arnold was born Jan. 20, 1917, in Delta County; the son of John Hampton and Lena Stewart Arnold. He married Martha Sandlin on Dec. 26, 1937.
He was a retired truck driver and and U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pecan Gap and the Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are a daughter, Molly Marsh of Memphis; two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Aug. 25, 1997.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Pecan Gap.

Ernest Compton
WOLFE CITY - Ernest A. Compton, 95, of Dallas died Saturday at his home. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Bagley officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Mr. Compton was born Nov. 8, 1903, in White Rock; the son of William Cherman and Mary Simmons Compton. He married Cletta Woodruff on N.ov. 23, 1923, in Wolfe City.
Mr. Compton was retired from the auto salvage business and was a member of the Honey Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Brenda Compton of Dallas; daughter-in-law, Jessie Compton of Dallas; grandchildren, Mark Compton of Dallas, Deborah Gillis of Quinlan, Pat Conger of Rowlett, Karen Courville of Shallowater, Lisa Searles of Forney, Lori Hoskins of Galveston and Brent Compton; 23 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1972; son, Al Compton, in 1982; and daughter, Leta Conger, in 1996.
Pallbearers are Ed Gillis, Tim Gillis, Steve Gillis, Mac Compton, Forest Courville, Nathan McGough and Arron Conger.

Billy Doyle
ARLINGTON - Billy Wayne Doyle, 62, of Grand Prairie died Sunday in Vencor Hospital. Funeral services are at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Moore Funeral Home. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City.
Mr. Doyle was reared in Ladonia and graduated from Ladonia High School. He was a retired foreman from Pfizer Pharmacutical Company.
Mr. Doyle was a U.S. Army veteran and was stationed in Germany where he served as a medic. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ladonia and Grand Prairie Moose Lodge No. 1818.
Surviving are daughters, Kim Nelson and Yolanda Knieper; step-son, Steve Brown; brothers, Ray Doyle and Dale Doyle; sister, Loreta Miller; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luke Doyle and Eula Mae Doyle; and one brother, Jackie Doyle.
Memorials may be made Grand Prairie Moose Lodge No. 1818 or a charity of choice.

EMORY - Mattie Lee Dougherty Potts, 91, of Emory died Sunday at the Sulphur Springs Rehabilitation Health Center. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Maynard officiating. Burial is in Pilgrim Rest Number One Cemetery.
Mrs. Potts was born April 17, 1907; the daughter of Hugh and Mary Bailey Dougherty. She was married to James Potts on Aug. 4, 1927, in Emory. She was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Sue and Bob Stoker of Sulphur Springs and Genelle and Bill Hale of Bedford; and grandchildren, Pam Stoker, Steve Stoker and Jeff Hale.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 21, 1968.
Pallbearers are Junior Potts, Bill Potts, Henry Potts, Leroy Potts, Jed Adams, Jimmy Dougherty, Dwain Asbill and Jerry Dougherty.

VIENNA, W. Va. - Jo Long Steinbeck, 73, of Vienna died Friday in Ravenswood, W.Va. Services were Sunday at Vienna Baptist Church with Rev. Nathan Williams officiating.
Mrs. Steinbeck was born in Greenville; the daughter of Alfred and China Taylor Long. She was a members of the Vienna Baptist Church, T.O.P.S. and the Forty-Niner's Club.
Surviving are her husband, Criss Steinbeck of Vienna; daughters, Kay Mace of Procious, W. Va. and Barbara Stagg of Ravenswood; six grandchildren and one brother, Al Long.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and one daughter.
Memorials may be made to Vienna Baptist Church, Vienna Public Library or First Baptist Church of Ravenwood building fund.
