ROSEBUD - Charles C. Bennett, 71, of Rosebud died Monday in a Temple hospital. Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home of Rosebud. Burial is in Powers Chapel Cemetery.
He was born in Hunt County on March 18, 1927 and had lived in the Rosebud area since 1980. Mr. Bennett served in the U.S. Army. He was a rancher and a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Bennett of Rosebud; two sons, Kenneth Bennett and Larry Bennett, both of Rosebud; a daughter, Billie Faye Marquez of Temple; a brother, W.A. Bennett of Mount Vernon; three sisters, Jewel Cox of Golden and Dorothy Andrews and Iva Jones of Quinlan; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Minnie DeZeller
Minnie Bernice DeZeller of Greenville died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Southlawn Funeral Home in Tucson, Ariz. with J. Mills officiating. Burial is in Tucson.
She was born Nov. 17, 1910 to Arthur and Stella Stapp. She was a member of Drexel Heights Baptist Church in Tucson.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce DeZeller of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, James Stapp of Tecumseh, Okla.; a sister, Juanita Stewart of Tecumseh, Okla. and two grandchildren, Desiree Hoover of Greenville and Eric Zeller of Tucson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. DeZeller; a son, Harold L. DeZeller; Lee Blanchard, Emeries Blanchard, Willie Stapp, Louis Stapp, Emanuel Stapp and Marie Stapp.
Billy Erwin
Billy John Erwin, 69, of Seagoville died Tuesday at his residence. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Riley Hamilton and Willie Wilson officiating. Masonic graveside services are at Forest Park Cemetery.
Mr. Erwin was born Aug. 26, 1929, in Greenville; the son of Robert Gordeon and Laura Wineinger Erwin. He married Viola Hardung on Dec. 4, 1985, in Rockwall.
He was a truck driver for Borden's and a Baptist. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 335 and the Eastern Star Chapter No. 189.
Surviving are his wife of Seagoville; son, Billy Erwin of Commerce; daughter, Judy Lederman of Kemp; sisters, Marie Keeton of Mesquite and Bobbie Brown of Cash; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lloyd Erwin, Leo Erwin and Loya Erwin; sister, Myrtle Linstead; and twin infant sisters.
Pallbearers are David Swan, Mike McQuade, Alan Lockley, Leon Baccus, Ronnie Williams and Brian Newell.

Gladys Garrett
EMORY - Funeral services for Gladys N. Garrett, 89, of Emory, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Smith officiating. Burial is in Clifton Cemetery. She died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Winnsboro.
Daughter of Byron and Harriet Davis Scott, she was born Nov. 22, 1909 in Rains County. She was a retired teacher of 37 years, teaching in local schools including Alba Rains, Dallas, Seagoville and Lancaster. She was a Baptist.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Moon of Point; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Wayne Garrett and a grandson, Jeffrey Garrett.
Pallbearers will be Mark Scott Groves, Tim Groves, Rob Groves, James Ratliff, Norwin Lennon and Johnny Ryan Preston.

Loyd Lennon
EMORY - Loyd Lennon, 86, of Miller Grove, died Tuesday at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehabilitation. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at County Line Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Shedd and Rev. Guy Mays officiating. Burial is in Pippin-Hill Cemetery.
Born in County Line in Rains County on Aug. 20, 1912, he was the son of Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Pippin Lennon. On Dec. 23, 1941 he married Margueritte Branom in Miller Grove.
Mr. Lennon was a farmer, rancher and carpenter. He was on the Board of Directors of Farmers Electric of Greenville, retiring after 25 years.
He is survived by sons Johnny Lennon and Rex Lennon, both of Miller Grove; daughters Judy Ashby of Henderson and Marjean Stotts of Miller Grove; sisters Veda Rhea Terry, Ruth Gilbert and Oneta Carter, all of Emory; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
His wife preceded him in death on Jan. 29, 1994.
Pallbearers are Howard Garrett, Lewis Watts, David Garrett, Junior Dicken, Mac Garrett and Stevie Tipps.

Olen McAree
EMORY - Olen "Slim" McAree, 81, of Alba died Tuesday at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs. Funeral services are at 4 p.m. today at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Smith officiating. Burial is in the Colony Cemetery.
Mr. McAree was born July 25, 1917, in Alba; the son of John and Cora Wright McAree. He was a retired farmer and rancher.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy McAree, of Alba; sons, Kent McAree and David McAree, both of Emory; daughter, Jeri Humphrey of Emory; brother, Oval McAree of Alba; sister, Lennie Hudgins of Emory; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Paul and Michael McAree.
Pallbearers are Cody McAree, Corey McAree, Scott McKinney, Lynn Harpold, Chris Harpold and Keith Henderson. Honorary pallbearer is "Stuff " Turner.
Roy Perkins
Roy Perkins of Greenville died Friday at Baylor Hospital of Dallas. Funeral services are at Mount Calvery Baptist Church in Farmersville at 11 a.m. Thursday with Rev. R.A. Griffin officiating. Burial is in East Mount Cemetery in Greenville.
The son of Mash and Ethel Grady Perkins, he was born March 10, 1911 in Maud. In 1964 he married Lorene Anderson in Greenville.
Mr. Perkins was a construction worker. He was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; a son, Roy Perkins Jr. of Houston; four daughters, Patsy Jones and Jerrie Perkins of Garland and Mary Perkins and Martha Perkins of Dallas; 20 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Michael Jones, Rodney Jones, Tim Washington, Edward Pierce, Paul Johnson and Keith Hampton.

John White
DALLAS - John W. White, 82, of Dallas died Wednesday at Baylor Medical Center in Richardson. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is in Grove Hill Cemetery.
Mr. White was born April 17, 1916, in Greenville to Asa N. and Vesta Buchanan White. He attended Texas Tech University and married Dorothy Sumrow in September, 1941.
He was a former employee of Palmer Drug Store in Greenville and was retired from Wilhide Company in Dallas. He was a Methodist.
Surviving are his wife of Dallas; daughter, Judy Lamel of Dallas; sister, Frances Davis of Greenville; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Maurine Newell.
Visitation is from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Albert Johnson
Albert P. "Pat" Johnson, 66, of Commerce died Saturday at his residence. There is a graveside service at 2 p.m. today at Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce.
Born in Commerce on April 11, 1932, he was the son of Perry Cecil Johnson and Lela Pearl Carpenter Johnson. He was a registered X-Ray technician.
Mr. Johnson was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in the Korean War.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Terry Neumann of Fairview Heights, Ill.; a son, Tony Johnson of Richmond Heights, Mo.; grandchildren Nicole, Nathan and Neal Neumann, all of Fairview Heights, Ill. and Autumn Johnson of Richmond Heights, Mo. and special cousins Beth Troup of Arlington and Wiley Carpenter of Dallas and aunts and cousins.
His parents preceded him in death.

POINT - Margaret Prience Oler, 82, of Emory, died Monday at Green Acres Nursing Home of Emory. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Point Methodist Church with Hidie Rice officiating. Burial will be in Lone Star Cemetery.
She was born in Point on June 21, 1916 to Cleveland and Jennie McFadden Prience. She was a housewife.
Surviving are a son, Joe Oler of Weatherford; a daughter, Pat Day of Point; a sister, Nell Regan of Hurst; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dugan Prience and her husband, Joe Oler in 1981.
William Robinson
LEONARD - A memorial service for William Bethel "Buddy" Robinson, 84, of Leonard is at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Bonham V.A Hospital Chapel with Lloyd Morris and Russell Haffner officiating.
He died Friday in the Leonard Nursing Home.
Born Nov. 22, 1914 in Monterey, Tenn., he was the son of Alexander Robinson and Eva Atkinson Robinson. He married Frances McBroom on Oct. 21, 1939 in Mangum, Okla.
Mr. Robinson was a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife of Leonard; sons William Ronald Robinson of Trenton and Timothy Mack Robinson of Greenville and two grandchildren.

LEONARD - Graveside services for Zackary Kyle McDonald Aldridge, who was stillborn Thursday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Leonard Cemetery.
He was the son of June McDonald and Charles Aldridge.
Survivors include his mother of Leonard; his father of Dodd City and grandparents Jerry and Tomilou McDonald of Leonard and Chuck and Sharon Aldridge of Dodd City.

Martha Ann Waldroup Franklin, 57, of Greenville died Friday at her home. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Monday at Coker-Mathews Chapel with Dr. Kelly Carr officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Franklin was born April 11, 1941 in Hunt County, the daughter of M. C. Waldroup and Katie Reynolds. She married Don Franklin on Feb. 22, 1965 in Greenville. She was a homemaker and a member of Dixon Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of Greenville; her mother, Katie V. Waldroup of Greenville; three sons, Travis E. Mauldin of Garland, David Lynn Mauldin of Greenville, and Robert J. Mauldin of Greenville; two daughters, Jackie Ann Key and Judy Kay Santana, both of Greenville; a brother, James Waldroup of Greenville; 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Kay Soaper; a brother Jerry DeWayne Waldroup; a son-in-law, David Santana; and a nephew, Michael James Waldroup.

Horace Haire Jr.
Horace E. (Red) Haire Jr., 60, of Greenville died Thursday at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. A memorial service will be held at Highland Terrace Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Monday with Mr. Ken Prater and Mr. Tom Peterson officiating. A memorial service will also be held in China Grove, N.C. at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Military burial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove, N.C.
Mr. Haire was born Jan. 8, 1939 in China Grove, N.C., the son of Horace E. Haire Sr. and Ruth Penniger Haire. He married Martha Grubbs Aug. 4, 1989 in Greenville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and an engineer at Raytheon Systems Company.
He was a member of the USAFSS/ESC Association where he was named to the 1990 Hall of Fame; a member of the Freedom Through Vigilance Association; and a member of the Century Club.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Haire of Greenville; his mother, Ruth Penniger Haire of China Grove, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law Crystal and Bill Soldat of Rockwall; a daughter, Amber Haire of Greenville; a sister, Patricia Shive of Rockwell, N.C.; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1967.
Marie Hanley
QUINLAN - Marie Hanley, 87, of Quinlan died Saturday in Dallas. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Quinlan Funeral Chapel with Rev. D. Wilks officiating. Burial will be in Leesville Cemetery.
Mrs. Hanley was born June 3, 1911 in Manchester, Texas, the daughter of Oliver Parrie and Viola Camilla Davis East. She married Henry Oscar Hanley on Sept. 12, 1928 in Paris. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters, Juanice Robinson of Quinlan, Beth McElhaney of Batesville, Miss., and June Pointer of Washington; and two brothers, James Oliver East of Dallas and James Edwin Shamblin of Paris.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
