LADONIA - Eddie Templeton of Ladonia died Monday night at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce. Graveside services are at 4 p.m. today at the Providence Cemetery in Ladonia with Bob Posey officiating.
The son of William Franklin Templeton and Lemma Malone Templeton, he was born Aug. 2, 1926 in Fannin County. He was a warehouse manager for B.F. Goodrich for many years.
Mr. Templeton was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He moved to Ladonia in 1991 after his retirement.
Mr. Templeton is survived by brothers William Templeton and James Turley Templeton of Mesquite and Wilbert Templeton of DeSoto.
His parents preceded him in death.
Visitation will be at Delta Funeral Home of Ladonia this afternoon to service time.
Thelma Bennett
Thelma Lela Bennett of Greenville died Saturday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. There is a graveside service at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Salem Cemetery near Alba with Rev. Paul Wilds officiating.
Born Oct. 4, 1908 in Alba, she was the daughter of Willis McKay and Hattie McCurdy McKay. She married Dorsey Wagnor Bennett on Aug. 24, 1924 in Emory. Mr. Bennett was a practical nurse. She was a member of Assembly of Yahvah.
Surviving are sons L.G. Bennett of Bismarck, Ark. and Bob Bennett of Rockford, Ill.; daughters Florence Brown of Fort Worth, Betty Rich of Alma, Mich. Pansy Wilson of Greenville and Doris Collie of Flint, Mich.; a brother, Paul McKay of New Jersey; a sister, Ruby Watson of Mildred; 25 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 21, 1986 and one son.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Mervia Cole
LEONARD - Funeral services for Mrs. Mervia E. Cole, 77, of Leonard, are at 2 p.m. Friday at the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Huggins officiating. Burial is in the Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, Calif.
Mrs. Cole died Monday in the Whitewright Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 26, 1921 in Philadelphia, Penn., the daughter of Henry Norbeck Layer and Mary M. Davis Layer. She was a Methodist and a homemaker. On Nov. 21, 1966 she married Robert J. Cole in Las Vegas, Nev.
She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Reynolds of Leonard; a son, Gordon R. Stone of San Diego, Calif.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Donald Nelson
COMMERCE - Donald Gene Nelson, 50, of Campbell died Sunday in Sherman. There is a graveside service at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Horton Cemetery in the Horton Community with Rev. Arthur Teel officiating.
The son of Alvie Lee Nelson and Lena Redman, he was born Nov. 2, 1948 in Sulphur Springs. Mr. Nelson moved to Campbell from Poteau, Okla. in 1995. He was a 1975 retired staff sergeant of the U.S. Army. He was a Baptist by faith.
Surviving are his mother, Lena Hamric of Campbell; a son, Eric Leigh Nelson of New Port News, Va.; two brothers, Joe Thomas Nelson of Commerce and Johnnie Earl Nelson of Sweethome, Ore.; four sisters, Della Elmore, Margie Quisenberry and Martha Busby of Campbell and Lucille Petry of Cumby; a granddaughter, Hanna Marie Nelson of New Port News, Va. and several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father; a son, Donald Vincent Nelson; two brothers, Billie and Jessie Nelson and his grandparents.
Pallbearers are Michael Ross, Bob Busby, James Busby, Butch Busby, Scott Moore and Hubert Nelson.

Allene Patterson
Allene Patterson, 88, of Athens, formerly of Greenville, died Sunday at East Texas Medical Center in Athens. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Charles Buursma, pastor of Athens Seventh Day Adventist Church, officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
She was born in Mount Vernon on June 21, 1911, to Joseph Wooten and Martha Ann Boles Wooten. On Feb. 9, 1935 she married Floyd D. "Bill" Patterson in Wolfe City. She was a member of Athens Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Surviving are her husband of Athens; sons and daughters-in-law Dwayne and Jean Ann Patterson of Greenville and Bobby and Virginia Patterson of Athens; daughter and son-in-law Wanda and Dewey Neufeld of Athens; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Thelma Smith
EMORY - Funeral services for Thelma B. Smith, 83, of Emory will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Pilgrim Rest No. 1 Church with Rev. Jeff Thompson and Rev. Royce Campbell officiating. Burial is in Pilgrim Rest No. 1 Cemetery.
She died Monday at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.
The daughter of Irvin Aaron Cooke and Lavana Potts, she was born Feb. 22, 1916, in Rains County. She married Joe H. Smith on April 9, 1936, in Rains County. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Mrs. Smith had been a member of Pilgrim Rest No. 1 Baptist Church since Aug. 3, 1947.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmie Smith of Emory and Billy Smith of Emory; a daughter, Jo Ann Martin of Emory; twin brother Thurman Cooke of Emory; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Her husband preceded her in death.
Pallbearers are Robert Kile, Bobby Kile, Ray Franklin, Jim Jacks, Rob Killingsworth and Randy Traylor.

Dorothy Williams
COMMERCE - Dorothy Christine Williams, 86, of Commerce died Sunday. Funeral services are at First United Methodist Church of Commerce at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Mike House officiating. There is a graveside service at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
Born Jan. 18, 1913 in Hebron, she was the daughter of C.C. McDonald and Vina McCartney. She married Raymond Watson Williams on Dec. 24, 1937 in Vickery.
She graduated from Vickery High School and her family moved from Paris to Commerce in 1950. Her family purchased Huffines Chevrolet and continue to operate Williams Motors in Commerce.
Mrs. Williams was a member of First Baptist Church, Home Bound Sunday School Class, Delphia Club and the Eastern Star.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Wynelle and Richard Moore of Waco; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Winston Williams of Dallas and Wyman and Harriet Williams of Commerce; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 30, 1998 and two brothers, Hershall and Pat McDonald.
Pallbearers are Scott Williams, Keith Williams, Kent Williams, Kerry Williams, Mike King and David Kerbow. Honorary pallbearers are Derek Moore, Wylie Cooper, Jim Kizer and Lewis Jackson.

James Baron
James David Baron, 50, of Campbell died Friday in Commerce. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Sonora Cemetery in Fairlie with Dr. Bobby Tollison officiating.
He was born in Dallas on May 5, 1949, to James Baron and Gladys Maxine Clark. Mr. Baron moved to Commerce in 1962, where he attended public school. He was employed by Texas A&M-Commerce for the last 19 years. He attended First Baptist Church of Commerce.
Survivors include sister and brother-in-law Sandra and Butch Elmore of Commerce, brother and sister-in-law Dick and Linda Baron of Commerce, two aunts, one uncle and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Pallbearers are David Jones, Jimmy Chennault, Ronny Wall and Danny McFadden.
Memorials may be made to the ASPCA or the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.

Wayne Fraizer
Funeral services for Wayne Fraizer, 65, of Emory will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel with Michael Frazier and Eddie Frazier officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park. Mr. Frazier died Friday.
He graduated from Royse City High School in 1950 and attended the Southwestern School of Banking at SMU. He was employed with Mercantile National Bank as a vice president until his retirement. He had served as minister of music and deacon for the First Baptist Church of Rowlett, First Baptist Church of West Tawakoni, Lakeview Baptist Church in Wylie and at the time of his death, was serving at the Country Baptist Church in Point.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Fraizer of Emory, son Michael Frazier of Emory, daughter Donna Boughton of Rowlett, brother Eddie Frazier of Bailey, Freida Bethea of Sulphur Springs, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Marcell Harris
Marcell White Harris of Greenville died Wednesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Services will be at Myrtles Spring CME Church in Leesburg at 2 p.m. today with William Duffey officiating. Burial will be in Leesburg Cemetery.
She was born on Aug. 16, 1929, to Ruben and Mary Lee White. She was a member of Mt. Lebon Methodist Church in Gilmer.
Survivors are sons Willie McKnight of Betty, Alvin McKnight of Amarillo and Tommy Jones of Gilmer; daughters Ella Burns and Ida Beasley of Greenville, Johnie R. Harper of Fort Worth, Ruth Ann Sharper of Pittsburg and Glenda Robinson of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Verta Bell Carrington of Leesburg and 24 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, four sisters and three brothers.

Jimmy Murphy
Jimmy Glenn Murphy, 31, of Princeton died Saturday in Dallas. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Fielder-Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Farmersville. Burial will be in Ridgeview Memorial Park in McKinney.
Mr. Murphy was born in Princeton to Cecil and Dorise Alder Murphy. He was a Baptist and worked as a trencher for Boon Construction Company.
He is survived by his father of Farmersville, his mother of Princeton and brother Danny Clay of Princeton.

Dorothy Thomas
SAN ANGELO - Dorothy McElroy Thomas of San Angelo died May 26. There was a graveside service May 29 at Fairmont Cemetery.
Mrs. Thomas was born in Greenville on March 23, 1911 to Andrew J. and Elizabeth Brown McElroy. She graduated from Greenville Public Schools and from East Texas State University. She taught school in McCamey from 1933 to 1936. On Aug. 2, 1936 she married Clifton Lee Thomas.
Mrs. Thomas moved to San Angelo in 1951. She was a member of the First Christian Church of San Angelo.
Survivors include a son, Greg Thomas of San Angelo; a sister, Georgia Bowden of Greenville and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jorgia, in 1951; her son, Thad, in 1977 and her husband of 49 years in 1985.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church of San Angelo or to a charity of choice.
Eddie Choate
COOPER - Eddie Joe Choate of Cooper died Friday in Cooper. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Cooper. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Choate of Cooper; two sons, Mark Choate of Arlington and Bill Choate of Cooper; a daughter, Lynda Jaggers of Mesquite; a brother, C.H. "Jelly" Choate of Cooper; two sisters, June Stonaker of Sulphur Springs and Daphne Russell of Daingerfield and five grandchildren.

Gladys Ohy
Gladys Lynda Moser Ohy, 93, of Greenville died Thursday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 4 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with her grandson, Stephen McCrory, officiating. Burial will be in Tidwell Cemetery.
Born Oct. 3, 1905 in the Tidwell Community in Hunt County, she was the daughter of William Onley Moser and Lilly E. Carter Moser. On Dec. 31, 1949 she married James Toichi Ohy in Dallas. She was a homemaker and a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include three daughters, Frieda Morton and Helen Parrish, both of Campbell and Doris Moore of Saltillo; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 4,1979 and five brothers, mostly from the Greenville area.
Great-grandsons Scott Moore, Wesley Parrish, Chris McWilley, Clint Douglas, Josh Clem, Eli Clem and John Dooley will serve as pallbearers.
John Palmer
LEONARD - Funeral services for John Gilbert Palmer, 68, of Garland, formerly of Leonard, are at 2 p.m. today at the Taylor Funeral Home Chapel in Leonard. Burial will be in the East Shady Grove Cemetery near Leonard.
Mr. Palmer died Wednesday in Mesquite Community Hospital.
He was born Sept. 18, 1930 in Skitook, Okla., son of John Black Palmer and Alva Palmer. He was an aircraft mechanic.
Surviving are a daughter, Kimberly Renee Palmer of Garland; son Marshall Mashburn of Roanoke; a brother, Mike T. Griggs; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Moneta Odom
McKINNEY - Moneta Stewart Odom, 76, of Fairview died at her home Wednesday. There is a memorial service today at 11 a.m. at the Farmers Branch Church of Christ with Eddy Ketchersid officiating. Graveside services are at the Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville Saturday at noon.
Mrs. Odom was born July 28, 1922 in Paris to Dave Clifford and Martha Louella Maynard Stewart. She retired from her position at E-Systems in Greenville after 19 years of service.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn Young and husband William of Coppell and Becky Smith and husband Mike of Fairview; grandchildren, Emily Young, Lee Andrews, Allison Young, Chelsea Smith and Taylor Smith; brothers, Lawrence Stewart and wife Billie of Farmers Branch and Maynard Stewart and wife Ann of Longview; sister, Lucille Caudle and husband Ben of Austin; brothers-in-law, Francis Hervey of Pasadena and Howard Clifton of Lone Oak and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by daughter Judith Hunter; son, Dean Odom; grandson Cas Andrews IV; sisters, Virginia Hervey and Roberta Clifton and husband Stanford Odom.

Angel Pollard
BENBROOK - Angel Rebbecca Pollard of Fort Worth died on her 28th birthday at her home. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rush Creek Baptist Church in Arlington. There is a graveside service at 4 p.m. in Humbolt Cemetery near Greenville.
Mrs. Pollard was born June 16, 1971 in Vernon to Ronnie and Rebbecca Cox. She was a graduate of Arlington High School and a member of Fellowship of Arlington Church.
Surviving are her husband, Jeff Pollard of Fort Worth; mother and stepfather, Becky and Billy Harris of Greenville; father and stepmother, Ronnie and Sandra Cox of Vernon; parents-in-law, Jim and Connie Pollard of Arlington; children, Robert, Lindsey and Rebbecca Graham, Jinny and Cindy Pollard, all of Fort Worth; brothers, Ron Thomas of Houston and Rodney Thomas of Humbolt, Iowa; grandmother, Dorothy Lindsey of Vernon and great-grandparents, Nettie and A.B. Wilkinson of Vernon.
