Neva Campbell

COMMERCE - Neva Nell Campbell, 75, of Commerce died Tuesday in Saginaw. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Hoover officiating. Burial is in Sherley Cemetery in Hopkins County.

The daughter of Bernard Forrest Campbell and Sallie Armour Campbell, she was born April 6, 1924 in Sherley. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Commerce and a member of Rebekah Lodge No. 395.

Surviving are nieces Linda Cegiel of Saginaw and Sarah Mayes of Forney; nephews Brodie Campbell of Clarksville, Leon White of Garland, Glyn Campbell of Commerce and Gary Campbell of Dallas and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers Elbert Campbell and Horace Campbell and a sister, Katreen Campbell White.

Pallbearers are Waymon Mullins, Justin LaCour, Richard Frank, Pete Hale, Clyde Covington and Ernest Hawkins. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Kizer, J.D. McGuire, Denver Walker and James Moody.

Visitation is from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Alice DuJardin

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today for Alice Mary DuJardin, 77, of Greenville at St. William's Catholic Church with Rev. Antonio Oscar Diez Jr. officiating. Burial is in Rosemound Cemetery.

She died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.

Mrs. DuJardin was born Dec. 26, 1921 in Detroit, Mich. to Philip and Mary Koss Fabianski. She married Paul Charles DuJardin in Feb. 25, 1950 in Detroit. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. William's Catholic Church and of the Women's Guild.

She is survived by daughters, Betty Jean McCracken of Commerce, Rosemary and husband Sam Barravecchia of Ada, Mich., Darlene and husband Richard Drummond of Crosswell, Mich.; Pauline Wallis of Commerce, Henrietta and husband Richard Butler of Wallkill, N.Y.; grandchildren Denise, Marianna, Joseph, Billy, Mike, Brian, Dawn, Robert, Crystal, Candace, Matt and Mandy and great-grandchildren Kaitylyn, Kasey, Shelby, Ryan, Vicki, Mikey, Matt, Timothy and Isiah.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a daughter, Charlotte; grandson Jesse; great-granddaughter Stephanie; and two brothers, Edward and Harry.

Juanita Parks

McKINNEY - Juanita Parks, 61, of Farmersville died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Funeral services are at noon Friday in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, McKinney, with Rev. Jeff Fisher officiating. Burial is in Cottage Hill Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 10, 1938 in Celina to Raymond and Foy Irene Bell Hundley. She married Veston Odell Parks on Dec. 5, 1953 in McKinney.

Mrs. Parks is survived by her daughter, Deanna Gaddis of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law Keith and Gloria Parks of Denison; grandson Jason Lynn Gaddis of Farmersville; granddaughter Joanna Lynne Crosby of Dallas; stepgrandsons Allen and Joe Mihalakis of Denison; stepgreat-grandchildren Paige and Chase Mihalakis of Denison; a sister, Frances Hundley of Garland and brother Weldon R. Hundley of Farmersville.

Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lester Williams

COMMERCE - Lester E. Williams, 63, of Commerce died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital in Commerce. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. today at Rosemound Cemetery with Rev. Mike House officiating.

Mr. Williams is survived by his friends with AMR and the Commerce Emergency Corps as well as neighbors.

Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

C.L. Woodall

EMORY - C.L. "Woody" Woodall, 73, of East Tawakoni died Tuesday at his home. There is a graveside service at 10 a.m. Saturday at Emory City Cemetery with Rev. Johnny Turner officiating.

Born Feb. 27, 1926 in Malvern, Ark., he was the son of Charlie and Anne Gage Woodall. On Oct. 17, 1951 he married Ruby Brooks in Hot Springs, Ark.

Mr. Woodall was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy in World War II and the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from Sabre Realty as maintenance supervisor. He was a Baptist.

Mr. Woodall was a member of the V.F.W. and the East Tawakoni Zoning Committee. He served on the Rains County Appraisal Board for 10 years and on the East Tawakoni City Council for 10 years.

Mr. Woodall is survived by his wife of East Tawakoni; sons Frank Woodall of Conway, Ark., Curtis Woodall of PortCharlotte, Fla., Joseph Woodall of West Tawakoni and Cecil L. Woodall of Leonard; two daughters, Laverne Warden of St. Louis, Mo. and Debra Baugh of Austin; sisters, Geneva McHenry of Hot Springs, Ark., Lorene McMullins of Malvern, Ark. and Katheryn Morrell of Las Vegas, Nev.; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home in Emory.

Rawleigh Bennett

QUINLAN - Rawleigh B. Bennett of Quinlan died Monday at Country View Manor of Terrell. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. today at Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Sheppard officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Beeman Cemetery in Corsicana.

Mr. Bennett was born in the Quinlan area to John L. and Della Bennett. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired security guard.

Surviving are his wife, Nelma Bennett of Quinlan; two sons, Calvin Piearce and Pete Piearce, both of Quinlan; a sister, Ara Dudley; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Shirley Burgan

POINT - Shirley Irene Burgan, 48, of Point, died Tuesday in Dallas. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Point Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Whit officiating. Burial will be in Lone Star Cemetery.

Born Feb. 15, 1951 in Dallas, she was the daughter of Leroy and Francis Strawman Bridges. She worked in building maintenance for the City of Carlton.

Surviving are a son, Joe Luther Green Jr. of Arkansas; a daughter, Tina Marie Riggins of Point; three brothers, Cecil Glenn Bridges of Pensacola, Fla., O.T. Bridges of Mesquite and Freddy Lee Bridges of Tawakoni; two sisters, Ruby Pearl Ruiz of Lake Fork and Joyce Ann Castleberry of Point and six grandchildren.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Russell Compton

Funeral services for Russell Marvin Compton, 62, of Greenville are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill McNatt officiating. Burial is in McWright Cemetery.

Mr. Compton died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.

The son of Marvin and Opal Harris Compton, he was born in Red River County on May 21, 1937. He married Mildred Rountree Williams on Oct. 2, 1982 in Lone Oak.

Mr. Compton worked in Dallas and Hunt County with the Sheriff's Department and was retired from law enforcement. He had also worked for W.Y. Goff Funeral Home and was a licensed auctioneer. He was a Methodist.

He is survived by his wife of Greenville; son Tommy Compton of Arlington; stepson Tra Williams of Merit; a daughter, Pam Hendricks of Farmersville; a sister, Elaine Moore of Campbell and five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James L. Swife and a sister, Vergie Vergin.

Pallbearers are Steve Davis, Fred Gaulden, Mike Grubbs, Larry Jackson, Gary McLarry and Bobby Lynn Moore.

Alice DuJardin

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday for Alice Mary DuJardin, 77, of Greenville at St. William's Catholic Church with Rev. Antonio Oscar Diez Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Rosemound Cemetery.

She died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.

Emmer Morris

Emmer Sue Morris of Greenville died Sunday at Vencor Hospital of Dallas. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Eastside Church of Christ with Micheal Wilburn officiating. Burial is in Post Oak Cemetery in Longview.

The daughter of Amos C. and Elvira Moss Wilburn, she was born July 20, 1918 in Henderson. She married Wesley Morris in Henderson in 1935.

Mrs. Morris was a homemaker. She was a member of Eastside Church of Christ.

Surviving are three sons, Jessie Morris, Johnny Morris and John W. Morris, all of Greenville; three daughters, Mary Derrick, Annie Norris and Patricia Ann Morris, all of Greenville; three brothers, Kindrex C. Wilburn of Fort Worth, Burriel J. Wilburn of Saginaw, Mich. and Millard B. Wilburn of Longview; three sisters, Rosie M. Williams of San Diego, Calif., Leola Hicks of Fort Worth and Beulah M. Woods of Garland; 20 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, three sons, two sisters and two brothers.

Pallbearers are Jerry Norris, Charles Norris, Jessie Albert, Timothy Morris, Victor Derrick and Vinson Derrick.

Visitation is from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home Chapel.

Chad Whitworth

LEONARD - Funeral services for Chad Brian Whitworth II, 16, of Leonard, are at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Leonard with Rev. Chris Cowen and Rev. Roy Martin officiating. Burial is in the Leonard Cemetery.

He died Saturday in Whitewright.

The son of Chad Brian Whitworth and Mary Kendall Whitworth, he was born Sept. 14, 1982 in Denison. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Leonard and was a junior at Leonard High School.

He was a member of the Cannonball Cloggers of Sherman and had received numerous awards.

Surviving are e his father of Leonard; sister Lisa Whitworth of Leonard; brothers Lonnie Whitworth of Leonard and Shawn Minchey of Bokchito, Okla,; grandmothers, Mary Whitworth of Leonard and Aline Minchey of Bokchito, Okla.; grandfather, Robert Kendall of Garland and great-grandmother Alberta Whitworth of Leonard.

Pallbearers are Kenneth Fuller, Jason Fuller, Bo Damesworth, Daniel Melton, Donny Melton, Jay Barker, Brandon Peak and John Mathews.

Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home of Leonard.

Chester Akers

FORT WORTH - Chester Weldon Akers, 67, of Fort Worth died at a local hospital Saturday. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Catholic Church. Burial is in Greenwood Mausoleum.

Mr. Akers was born Nov. 10, 1931 in Campbell, son of Charlie and Edith Akers. He was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and was retired from the U.S. Post Office.

Surviving are sons Chester Akers Jr. of White Settlement and Shawn Akers of Aledo; daughters Teresa Bardsley of Michigan, Karen Chamberlain of Fort Worth and Kathleen Akers-McLean of Fort Worth; a brother, W.C. Akers of Greenville; a sister, Barbara Thomas of Tyler and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There is a rosary at the church at 7 p.m. today.

Greenwood Funeral Home of Fort Worth is in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Lathrop

COMMERCE - Dorothy Mary Lathrop, 64, of Commerce died Sunday in Greenville. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Brookside Funeral Home Chapel in Houston. Burial will be in Brookside Memorial Park in Houston.

She was born Aug. 9, 1934 in Houston to Frank Tilich and Mary Jane Pecha. Mrs. Lathrop moved to the Scatterbranch Community near Commerce from Houston in 1977. She attended public schools and one year of college. She was a member of the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge and attended the Redeemer Lutheran Church ELCA of Greenville.

Surviving are her husband, Ronnie Lathrop of Commerce; her father of Houston, a son, Frank Whitsitt; two daughters, Mary and husband Steve Weatherly of Humble and Rhonda Jo Lathrop of Commerce and a granddaughter, Stephanie Dell Weatherly of Humble.

She was preceded in death by her mother and a daughter, Dorothy Jo Whitsitt in 1961.

Pallbearers are members of the S.P.J.S.T. Lodge of Houston.

Pemberton Funeral Home of Commerce is in charge of local arrangements.

Harlan Tiffee

WOLFE CITY -Harlan L. Tiffee, 47, of Wolfe City died Saturday at Presbyterian Hospital in Greenville. Services are at 10 a.m. today at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Tim Schnault officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.

Mr. Tiffee was born May 28, 1952, in Dallas, the son of Howard R. and Mary Owens Tiffee. He married Karen Weber on Feb. 18, 1989, in Las Vegas, Nev. He was a retired machinist. Mr. Tiffee was a Baptist.

Surviving are his wife of Wolfe City; son, Josh Gonzales of Wolfe City; daughters, Shawna White of Slidell and Jennifer Gonzales of Wolfe City; brothers, David Tiffee of Greenville, Rocky Tiffee and Chad Tiffee, both of Wolfe City, and Lee Smith of the White Rock Community; sisters, Vickey Bejarano and Sherry Tillery, both of Wolfe City; grandmothers Nadine Tiffee and Irene Owens and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers are Josh Gonzales, Clint Clifton, Dustin Giles, Joe Wilkinson, John Wilkinson, Jason Black, James Manley and Sam Perry.

Mickey Smith

CADDO MILLS - Mickey Renee Stringer Smith, 42, of Quinlan died Saturday in a car accident in Quinlan. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Rentfrow Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is in the family cemetery at Triple S Burial Park.

Ms. Smith was born June 12, 1957, in Dallas; the daughter of T.J. and Tommie Fannin Stringer. She was an admitting clerk at Lake Pointe Medical Center and a member of Eastern Star.

Surviving are her parents of Quinlan; fiance, Steve Compton of Point; brother and sister-in-law, John and Dee Dee Stringer of Quinlan; sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Bill Rickman of Kaufman; and two nieces, Samantha Stringer and Marty Stringer, both of Quinlan.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Chappell.

Pallbearers are David Snith, Chad Smith, Billy Smith, Jason Smith, Bobby Rickman and Brandon Rickman.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
