Sylvester Hale of Greenville died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cozine & Tarver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willie Haggerty officiating. Burial is in Grundy Memorial Park.
Born in Gilmer on June 23, 1932, he was the son of Henry L. and Bettie Wilson Hale. He married Alice Nell Hall in Greenville in 1954. Mr. Hale was a retired carpenter. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Anthony B. Hale and Dewey Hale of Paris; three daughters, Janet Morgan and Kathy Harmon of Paris and Phyllis Green of Greenville; three brothers, B.H. Hale of Pittsburg, H.C. Hale of Fort Worth and Robert G. Hale of Dallas; six sisters, Delores Armour, Jo Etta Daniels, Mary Ann Williams and Ruthie Mae Peoples, all of Dallas, Ida Lois Waters of Gilmer and Bettie Ann Webster of Naples; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a sister and two brothers.
Pallbearers are Larry Mack, Roy L. Williams, Vincent Hamilton, Jory Young, Lester Morgan and Toby Ross.
Shirley Johnston
Shirley Wildean Johnston, 69, of Greenville, died Tuesday at her residence. There is a graveside service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Memoryland Memorial Park with Rev. James Johnston officiating.
The daughter of Retha and Cortez Trulove, she was born July 1, 1929 in Golden, Miss. On Nov. 23, 1950 she married John T. Johnston in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Mrs. Johnston was a housewife and she did volunteer work for the Salvation Army.
She is survived by her husband of Greenville; two sons, John David Johnston and Thomas Daniel Johnston, both of Greenville; three brothers, Junior Trulove, Wayne Trulove and Gary Trulove, all of Mississippi; three sisters, Marge Hatfield, Kay Vorkvouch and Carolyn Gwthany, all of Mississippi and five grandchildren.
Her parents preceded her in death.

Michael Kitchens
QUINLAN - Michael Leon Kitchens, 36, of West Tawakoni was found dead at his home Tuesday. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Quinlan LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Jock officiating. Burial is in Simmons Cemetery.
He was born in Dallas on June 23, 1962 to Leon and Mina E. Shaw Kitchens. He was a supervisor for Dext-Meat.
Mr. Kitchens is survived by his wife, Diann Kitchens of West Tawakoni; his father; his mother, Mina Stamper; mother-in-law, Mary Watson; a son, Rusty Kitchens; a brother, Bobby Kitchens; a sister, Dollie Fish and grandmother Pearl Hayes.

Jimmy Luke
Jimmy Rhea Luke, 53, of Wolfe City, died Wednesday at V.A. Hospital of Dallas. Funeral services are at 3 p.m. Saturday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Michael Hankins officiating. Burial is in Merit Cemetery.
Born March 16, 1946 in Nashville, Tenn., he was the son of William Hudson Luke and Nadine Krantz. He and Janice Evans were married June 2, 1970 in Oklahoma.
Mr. Luke served in the U.S. Navy and served in Viet Nam. He was a construction superintendent. He was a member of Christian City Church of Rowlett.
Surviving are his wife of Wolfe City; a son, Kirby Dean Luke of Commerce; two daughters, Tammy Cross of Greenville and Tina Luke of Wolfe City; a brother, Jerry Michael Luke of Nashville, Tenn. and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Rhea Luke Jr. in 1971.
Pallbearers are Johnny Flanigan, Jesse James, David Jones, Sam Vent, Danny Donahue and Milton Cross.

Blanche Terry
Blanche Iris Terry, 74, of Terrell, formerly of Campbell, died Wednesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rod Smith officiating.
The daughter of Juan Moll and Claudia Torres, she was born Nov. 12, 1924 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. On March 7, 1943 she married W.T. Terry Jr. in Ponce. She retired from retail sales. Mrs. Terry was a Catholic.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Carla Terry of Terrell; sister-in-law Francis Ingmire of San Antonio; nephew Bill Barber and niece Linda Brooks.
Her husband preceded her in death on April 10, 1995.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or to a charity of choice.

FARMERSVILLE - Lee Ollie Elder, 85, of Farmersville died Tuesday in Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Baptist Church in Farmersville. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Born April 2, 1914 in Paducah, he was the son of Benjamin F. and Lydia Compton Elder. On April 9, 1938 he married Veneta Parr in Paducah. Mr. Elder was a mechanic.
He is survived by his wife of Farmersville; daughters Ina Locke of Farmersville, Norma F. Williams Tucker of Idavell, Okla. and Wanda Galyean of Commerce; two sons, Charles Elder of Farmersville and Leonard Elder of Corinth; three sisters, Wanda Armstrong of McKinney, Hazel Ratliff of Greenville and Ruth Horton of Sherman; 11 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

TERRELL - Cecil W. "Hobb" Flowers died Wednesday in Terrell. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Anderson-Clayton Brothers Funeral Home Chapel. Burial is in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Quinlan.
The son of William Elijah and Mary Bell Griffin Flowers, he was born June 3, 1913 in Hunt County.
Mr. Flowers served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and received three Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart. He was a member of Lakeview Church and VFW Post 2559 at West Tawakoni.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, May Lee Dugger Flowers of Quinlan; children Cecilia Lee McKee of Trophy Club, Margaret Holloway of Bedford, Charles G. Flowers of Quinlan and Dorothy Daniel of Quinlan; a sister, Myrtle Hunt of Rowlett; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers.

The daughter of John Moreland and Ella Moore Moreland, she was born in Altoga on April 1, 1906. She was a homemaker and a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Oldham of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a sister, Iva Ray of Mesquite; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Sterling Andrews
QUINLAN - Sterling Wayne Andrews, 69, of Quinlan died at his home Sunday. There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Quinlan.
Born July 2, 1929 in Quanah, he was the son of George and Beatrice Andrews. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Quinlan.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dorothy of Quinlan; daughter Carol Smith of Terrell; two sons, Phillip Andrews of DeSoto and Steve Andrews of Crandall; a sister, Geneva Tippie of Irving; two brothers, Charles and Derwood Andrews and half brother David Watkins, all of Irving; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Children's Fund in Quinlan.
Maurice Curran
QUINLAN - Maurice "Lucky" Curran, 74, of West Tawakoni died Monday in Dallas. A Mass is scheduled for 7 p.m. today at Lady of Fatima in Quinlan and funeral services are at 9 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Mr. Curran was born April 9, 1925, in Elk Fort, Iowa; the son of Clement and Lita Crandell Curran. He was a U..S. Army World War II veteran and a painter.
Surviving are a son, Gerald Curran of West Port, Ore.; two daughters, Nita Pierce of Corpus Christi and Valerie Williams of West Tawakoni; two brothers, Duane Curran and Jerry Curran, both of Dubuque, Iowa; three sisters, Rita Gallahar of Sumter, S.C., Helen Johnston of Spokane, Wash. and Patricia Kohman orf Dubuque, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

The son of Phillip G. and Celia E. Mercer Johnson, he was born April 3, 1908 in Fannin County. He married Dixie Johnson on Dec. 31, 1984 in Farmersville. He worked for a cotton mill. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of McKinney; daughter, Linda Lindsey of Parker; stepdaughters, Nora Brazil and Debbie Reagan of Farmersville; son, James C. Johnson of Tom Bean and stepson, Bob Lindsey of Parker.

Armon King
Armon A. King, 87, of Greenville died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ben Shinn officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Mr. King was born Sept. 26, 1911 in Purly to Mack King and Velma Chaffin. On June 4, 1932 he married Viola Sells in Floyd. Mr. King served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a retired school teacher.
He was a member of Kavanaugh United Methodist Church. Mr. King was a Mason for 60 years of the 33rd Degree and he was a member of the Kiwanis. He was a cub master and scout master in Commerce and was a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are a son, Charles King of Greenville; a daughter, Mary Alyce King of Tampa, Fla.; sister and brother-in-law Mavie and Jack Smith of Sulphur Springs; five grandchildren and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife on June 19, 1987; a brother and a sister.

He is survived by two sons, Morris Lee Lemons Jr. and William Earl Lemons, both of Shady Oak, Okla.; a sister, Annie Molck of Farmersville and a brother, Jerry Lemons of Farmersville.

Born Aug. 17, 1904 in Olney, Ill., she was the daughter of Edward Henry Mehmert and Julia Vogt Mehmert. She married Ervin J. Sedlack in 1941.
She attended St. Mary's of the Woods University in Indiana from 1922 to 1924 and graduated from De Paul University with a bachelor's degree in music.
Mrs. Sedlack was an organist in the silent movies and was a teacher of music with the Wurlitzer School of Music. She was a member of St. William's Catholic Church of Greenville.
Surviving are a sister, Eugenia Mehmert of Greenville; sister-in-law Helen Mehmert Bauman of Greenville; niece Cecelia Langford of Houston; nephew Michael H. Mehmert of Evergreen, Colo.; grandniece, Kristen Mehmert and grandnephews, Brandon Mehmert and Michael Mehmert.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Dr. Henry E. Mehmert.
Pallbearers are Hector Lara, Bob Vinson, Harvey Dorman, Dewey Fitzpatrick, Jack Bauman and Lanny Langford.
