EMORY - Joe Strebeck, 88, of Alba died Thursday at East Texas Medical Center in Quitman. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bright Star Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Strebeck, Rev. Bobby Strebeck, Rev. Earl Kearns and Rev. Wayne Wolfe officiating. Burial is in Turner Cemetery.
Born Aug. 15, 1910 in Rains County, he was the son of William Charles and Sarah Jane Courtney Strebeck. He married Fannie Gowin Strebeck on Feb. 4, 1933 in Rains County.
Mr. Strebeck was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a Baptist and served as a deacon.
Surviving are his wife of Alba; sons Joe Strebeck of Texarkana, William Strebeck of Emory and Bobby Strebeck of Arlington; daughters Melba Wright and Pat Whitworth of Alba; sisters Lenda Geraldon and Fannie Geraldon of Dallas and Estelle Tucker and Louella Hukill of California; 21 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Rex Earl Strebeck, three brothers and two sisters.
Eight grandsons are pallbearers.

Melvin Tapp
Funeral services for Melvin Tapp, 81, of Greenville will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with John David Wright officiating. Burial is in the Ladonia Cemetery.
Mr. Tapp died Tuesday at Baylor Hospital of Dallas.
The son of Albert Carl Tapp and Elizabeth Nowell Tapp, he was born June 26, 1918 in Coleman, Okla. He married June Reeves on Aug. 5, 1947 in Dallas. He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II and the Korean War.
Mr. Tapp was a retired aircraft electrician for E-Systems.
He was a member of the Church of Christ and Disabled American Veterans.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; son and daughter-in-law, Melvin Tapp Jr. and Kathy of Rockwall; a sister, Carlyn Paxton of Henderson; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A sister preceded him in death.
Pallbearers are Wylie Webb, Bob Nix, Wylie Easley, Bodney Wade, Darrell Bates, Rex Haines and Jeff Haines.

Trueman Cheney
COOPER - Truman Odell Cheney of Yowell died Monday evening at the Christus St. Joseph's Hospital in Paris. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at the Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Robert Moore officiating. Burial is in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Ben Franklin.
Born in Claxeco, Calif. on July 11, 1934, he was the son of Earl Cheney and Ethel Warner Cheney. He married Sherry Haggard on June 12, 1954.
Mr. Cheney was a resident of Delta County most of his life and was employed by Campbell Soup Company. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle.
Surviving are his wife of Yowell; four sons, Carlton Cheney and Cody Cheney of Yowell, Jack Cheney of Ben Franklin and Mike Cheney of Powderly; daughters Charisse Holdren and Denise Gill of Burkburnett and Annette Abbott of Greenville; a brother, Warner Cheney of Pecan Gap; sisters Carlene Kimbell of Wilcox, Ariz. and Georgene Wingo of Dayton; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa David; brothers Curtis, Evans and Lawrence Cheney; a sister, Ellen Williams and a granddaughter, Kristen Holdren.
Myrtle Collard
Myrtle D. Collard, 84, of Mesquite died Tuesday at Doctor's Hospital in Dallas. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Weiland Cemetery.
Born in Hunt County on Aug. 1, 1914, she was the daughter of George W. Lynch and Scena Orear Lynch. She married Pete Hallmark on May 21, 1934 in Greenville; he preceded her in death. She married Louis Collard in July 1996 in Dallas and he preceded her in death.
Mrs. Collard was a Baptist.
Surviving are a son, Norman Hallmark of Mesquite; a brother, Clyde Lynch of Spencerville, Okla.; three sisters, Lela Glass, Lucy Stevens and Bonnie Samples, all of Point; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; a son, Malcolm Hallmark on March 12, 1989; a sister, Bertha Price and a brother, Elbert Lynch.
Pallbearers are L.C. Davis, Lester Rodgers, Alton Rodgers, Jerry Stevens, Robby Stevens and Timmy McDaniel.

Funeral services for Alvin L. Payne, 82, of Greenville are at 10 a.m. today at Prairie Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Ratliff and Rev. Robert Cook officiating. Burial will be in Hall Cemetery.
Mr. Payne died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.
The son of E.L. Payne and Icy Mae Martin Payne, he was born July 24, 1917 in Hunt County. On Nov. 16, 1938 he married Mattie Ruth Davis in Greenville. He was a retired predatory animal control person under Texas A&M for 24 years.
A member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church, Mr. Payne was choir director at the church for 24 years and he was a deacon. He was a longtime farmer and rancher.
Surviving are his wife of Greenville; daughter and son-in-law Sue and Eddie Stonestreet and daughter Donna Norton of Greenville; two brothers, Horace Payne of Caddo Mills and Mont Payne of Greenville; sister Runell Griffin of Blue Ridge; grandchildren Kim and Thomas Patterson, William Skeet Norton and Magan Norton and great-grandchildren Clint and Casie Patterson.
Pallbearers are Ronald Griffin, Mike Griffin, Ricky Griffin, Ben Dooley, Tim Webb and Preston Busby. Honorary pallbearers are Howard Scott and deacons and members of Men's Sunday School class from Prairie Valley Baptist Church.

FARMERSVILLE - Edna Lee Wynn, 86, of Cordova, Tenn. died Tuesday in Memphis, Tenn. There was a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Merit Cemetery with Mac LeFan officiating.
She was born Nov. 15, 1912 in Arbala to Jesse Suttle and Virgie Kenny Suttle. She married Wilburn Wynn on Dec. 17, 1938 in Commerce.
Mrs. Wynn was a school teacher.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha Fox of Cordova, Tenn.; three sisters, Lillie Gibson and Ida McDowell of Mesquite and Yvonne Williams of Quinlan; a brother, Elmer Suttle of Merit; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Ina Moore
Ina P. Moore of Greenville died at her residence Monday. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Cliff Reneau officiating. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Born in Fannin County on May 7, 1915, she was the daughter of Thomas P. Green and Sarah Elizabeth Jones. In 1939 she married Benton L. Moore in Oklahoma.
Mrs. Moore attended East Texas State College. She was part owner of Peniel Grocery Store. She was a member of Peniel Church of The Nazarene and was Sunday School superintendent, Sunday School teacher and board member.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her husband of Greenville; son and daughter-in-law Larry N. and Linda Moore of Sulphur Springs; a brother, R.J. Green of Waco; grandchildren Terri Robertson of South Fork, Colo., Brett and Darla Moore of Greenville, Amy and Brad Potteiger of Bridgeport and Mike and Kim Moore of Sulphur Springs and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Billy Ivey, Joe Halliburton, Rex McCreary, George Ruff, George Sellers and Joe Little.

CADDO MILLS - Marion Bert Wrinkle, 69, of Amarillo, died Saturday. Graveside services are today at 11 a.m. at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Caddo Mills with Rev. Billy Norris officiating.
He was born in Greenville on Feb. 28, 1930 to Marion Wrinkle and Bessie Greathouse Wrinkle. Mr. Wrinkle was a farmer.
Surviving are sons Douglas Eugene and Charles Ray Wrinkle of Amarillo; daughters Karen Diane Wrinkle of Lubbock and Patricia AnnSimmons of Amarillo; a brother, Bill Wrinkle of Greenville; sisters Lois May of Greenville, Gladis Brewer of Fort Worth and Judy Clark Doyle of Houston; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Bobby Wayne Wrinkle and a sister, Dorothy Cruse.

QUINLAN - Ed Grimm, 67, of West Tawakoni died Sunday at his residence. There is a graveside service at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Lakeside Memorial Park in Quinlan with Troy Martin officiating.
The son of Virgle and Ople Wilson Grimm, he was born March 14, 1932 in Phoenix, Ariz.
Mr. Grimm was a social worker. He had also worked for General Dynamics in Fort Worth. He was a member of the West Tawakoni City Council and a member of the Jaycees.
Mr. Grimm was on the Zoning Council for West Tawakoni and he served chairman of the Republic Party in Tarrant County.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley Grimm of West Tawakoni; three sons, Gary Vern Grimm and Randy Eugene Grimm, both of Grand Prairie and Billy James Creed of West Tawakoni; four daughters, Kay Folmar of Sherman, Shirley Knight of Emory and Brenda Gibson and Rhonda Kimmel of Sulphur Springs; a brother, Robert Grimm of Kansas City, Mo.; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Leroy Grimm and a son, Jerry Don Amos.

Born in Red River County on Nov. 14, 1909, she was the daughter of James M. Hufstedler and Lucy Logston Hufstedler. She married Rev. Charles S. Hart on Aug. 11, 1940 in Greenville. She was a member of North Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hart is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Sue Hart of DeSoto; two sisters, Pauline Jennings of Campbell and Mable Hale of Campbell; grandsons Mark Hart and wife Amy of Dallas and Gary Hart and wife Renee of Dallas; great-grandson Ryan Hart and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 11, 1993; two brothers and a sister.

The daughter of Mose Moss and Roberta Wade, she was born in Fairfield on July 25, 1931. She and S.J. McMillan were married in Lubbock. She was a homemaker and worked in nursing.
Mrs. McMillan was a member of Emory United Methodist Women and Sonshine Circle.
She is survived by her husband of Emory and an aunt, Bobby Perry of Corsicana.

Mrs. Taylor died at her home Sunday.
Born July 12, 1920 in Sulphur Springs, she was the daughter of Jack and Eula Fraizer Milner. On Feb. 17, 1939 she married Virgle V. Taylor in Oklahoma. She was a housewife. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by four sons, Charles Taylor of Plano, Donald Taylor of Bonham, Jimmy Taylor of Sherman and Steven Taylor of Randolph; a daughter, Janice Bills of Angleton; two sisters, Irene Whiteside of Odessa and Loveller Williams of Pierce, Ariz. and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on June 30, 1999; her parents and a brother.

Evelyn Lee Bird, 73, of Greenville died Saturday at Presbyterian Hospital in Greenville. No services are scheduled.
Mrs. Bird was born April 30, 1926, in Newport, R.I.; the daughter of Thomas Jefferson and Cora Lee Hood Martin. She was married to Duhon Smith on Oct. 15, 1942, in Winnsboro and he preceded her in death. She then married Mike Bird, who also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her mother, Cora Lee Boucher of Apple Valley, Calif.; son, James Smith of Abilene; daughters, Barbara Kumm of Caddo Mills, Peggy Davis of Sulphur Springs and Connie Cawthon of Wolfe City; brothers, Dallas Martin of Blue Ridge and Thomas Martin of Apple Valley, Calif.; sister, Barbara Groberg of Naples, Fla.; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Paul Martin.
