WOLFE CITY - Charles Wilbur Wright III, 57, of Wolfe City died Monday at his home. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Dickson Ayers officiating. Burial is in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
The son of Wilbur and Edith Burnett Wright, he was born Aug. 5, 1941 in Odgensburg, N.Y. He married Shirley Lee Hammer on June 12, 1965 in Wolfe City.
Mr. Wright owned a Mobil gas station and was the Tex Pac agent in Wolfe City for more than 20 years. He also worked for R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home. He was a member of Calvery Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, Stephen Wright of Savoy, Charles M. Wright of Greenville and Mark Wright of Wolfe City; a daughter, Susan Stedry of Lindale; a sister, Edna Perry of Wolfe City; two brothers, Art Wright and David Wright of Mineola; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife on March 7, 1998; his parents; one brother and two sisters.
Pallbearers are Clevis Ticer, Valton Ticer, Tommy Jones, Sam Perry, Kenny Burks, Jerry Royal and Billy Don Burks. Nephews are honorary pallbearers.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mark Beckwith
FARMERSVILLE - Mark Allen Beckwith, 33, of Lewisville died Monday in Lewisville. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fielder-Baker Funeral Home Chapel with Ruben Eckberg officiating. Burial is in Blue Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Beckwith was born Dec. 20, 1965, in Germany; the son of Preston and Nancy Crabtree Beckwith. He was an electrician and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Surviving are his daughter, Charlyn Beckwith; father, of Anna; mother, of Fort Myers, Fla.; and sisters, Dianne Beckwith of Lewisville and Doreen Palmert of Whiteland, Ind.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Larry Freeman
Larry L. Freeman, 74, of Greenville died Sunday at his residence. There will be a private service at a later date.
Born in Abilene on June 28, 1925, he was the son of Belton Wood Freeman and Enola Ben Latham Freeman. Mr. Freeman served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a cabinet maker.
Surviving are daughters Perian Wright of Illinois and Helen L. Prince of Heath.
His wife, Emily Jane Freeman, preceded him in death.

Nina Glover
Nina Belle Glover, 77, of Greenville died Saturday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today at Southside Church of Christ. Burial is in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Mrs. Glover was born Sept. 12, 1921 in Ashland, Okla.; the daughter of George Luther and Laura Belle Edwards Sisco. She was married to James W. Glover on Nov. 29, 1939 in Ashland.
She was retired from Henson-Kickernick quality control and was a member of Southside Church of Christ.
Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Judy Glover of Plano; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Calvin Stigall of Plano and Sherry and Dick Grice of Mesquite; grandchildren, David Stigall, Jason Stigall, Cody Stigall, Casey Glover, Ginger Rutledge, Randy Grice and Jeremy Grice; great-grandchildren, Zachary Stigall, Krystal Stigall, Justin Stigall, Jarod Stigall, Kyra Douglas and Gavin Rutledge; and two exchange students, Hanna Sulkamo of Finland and Elena Caminero of Spain.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 29, 1980; her parents; four brothers and four sisters.
Grandsons are as pallbearers.

FARMERSVILLE - Becky Pruett, 77, of Princeton died Monday in Plano. Funeral services are at 3 p.m. today at Fielder-Baker Funeral Home Chapel in Farmersville. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery.
She was born May 20, 1922 in Westminister to Claude V. Beck and Frank McClure Beck. On June 14, 1945 she married Kenneth Pruett in Texarkana. Mrs. Pruett worked as a legal secretary and owned and operated Beckee's Antiques. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton.
Surviving are her husband of Princeton; a daughter, Gretchen McComic of Plano; son Mark Pruett of Menomonie, Wis.; a sister, Betty Amburn of Amarillo; two brothers, Fred Beck of Amarillo and Bill Beck of Seymour; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Evelyn Smith
MARSHALL - Funeral services for Evelyn Lucille Russell Smith of Marshall are at 2 p.m. today at The Sullivan Funeral Home, 100 East Travis, with Rev. Marion Harris and Rev. Jerry Spivey officiating. Burial is in Colonial Gardens in Marshall.
Mrs. Smith died Saturday following a lengthy illness.
The daughter of James William Russell and Florence Lucille Payne Russell, she was born Jan. 13, 1927 in Quinton, Okla. On April 24, 1948 she married Herman Lester Smith in Dalhart.
Mrs. Smith received her early education in Quinton, Okla. and Dumas. She had been employed by Firestone, Zale's and J.C. Penney Co. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are by her husband of Marshall; a son, Dr. Herman Lester Smith Jr. of Greenville; two daughters, Naomi Louann Woulfe of St. Louis, Mo. and Phylis Jean Wilson of Camden, Ark. and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, George Ervin Russell.

ROYSE CITY - Allen P. Tutt, 69, of Royse City, died Sunday in Dallas. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church of Royse City with Harry Bell officiating. Burialis in Royse City Cemetery.
The son of Floyd Allen and Effie Holbrook Tutt, he was born March 2, 1930 in Abilene.
Mr. Tutt served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Royse City and the Retired 198 Local Carpenter's Union.
Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Patricia Ann Tutt of Royse City; sons, Allen Richard "Ricky" Tutt of Royse City, Rodger Edward Tutt of Rowlett, Robert David Tutt of Cedar Hill and Russell Lee Tutt of Irving; brothers, Marshall Tutt and Davis Tutt of Carrollton; sister, Faye Brown of Abilene; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, W.G. Tutt in 1980.

Kenneth Bench
Kenneth Wayne Bench, 63, died Friday at his residence in Dallas. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Rev. Kevin Mitchell officiating.
Mr. Bench was born Oct. 28, 1935, in the Maxey Hall community near Wolfe City to Henry Clay and Lennie Parrish Bench. He was a Baptist and a salesman for an auto parts retail store.
Survivors include sisters Audrey Mae Davis of Dangerfield, Nellie Marie Morehead of Dangerfield and Hazel Dell Ivey of Dallas; and a brother, Joe Ray Bench of Dallas.
Visitation will be at 1 p.m. today at Owens Funeral Home.
D.D. Melton
Services for Durward Dial Melton, 89, of Quinlan and formerly of Sulphur Springs will be at 4 p.m. Monday at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel in Sulphur Springs with Rev. Fred Randles officiating. Burial will be in Sulphur Springs Cemetery.
He died Friday in a Hopkins County hospital following a brief illness.
Born in the Shirley Community of Hopkins County on Nov. 24, 1909, he was the son of George Walter and Eva Saphire Williams Melton.
He was a graduate of Sulphur Springs High School where he played basketball and football. He served as an agent for Greyhound Bus Lines in Sulphur Springs, as a manager with Duke & Ayres Variety Stores where he was honored for sales percentage, and was owner of an automobile dealership where he was honored for statewide sales penetration. He also had the first Cadillac dealership in Sulphur Springs.
He later became active in promoting Lake Tawakoni and developed White Point Estates where he resided, along with Rolling Oaks and Mountain View estates.
He was a member of First Christian Church of Sulphur Springs and was a former member of the official board of the church and was president for three years of the Everyman's Bible Class.
Surviving are a daughter, Lou Jane Vandiver of Sulphur Springs; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Leon Holloway
Funeral services for Leon Holloway, 84, of Greenville will be at 11:30 a.m., today, in Coker-Mathews Chapel, with Rev. Mike Nichols officiating.
Burial will be Memoryland Memorial Park.
Mr. Holloway died Thursday evening in Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.
He was born Feb. 21, 1915, in Hopkins County to Walter and Emma Connor Holloway. He married Frances Morris on Dec. 17, 1938, in Sulphur Springs. He was a retired elevator foreman for International Milling Co., a former employee of Farmers Co-Op, and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Greenville; two sons, Don Holloway of Rockwall and James Holloway of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Jeanette London of Farmers Branch; a brother of Buddy Holloway of Blackwell, Okla.; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Hewitt Moseley, Vernon Bench, Larry Hamilton, Gary Holloway, Jason Holloway, Anthony Holloway and Max Hewitt.
Homer Newell
DALLAS - Homer O. Newell died Thursday in Dallas. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Saturn Road Church of Christ in Garland with David Davy officiating. Burial will be in Grove Hill Memorial Park.
He was born March 21, 1916, in Daingerfield. He was a retired bus driver with the Dallas Transit System and a member of the Saturn Road Church of Christ.
Surviving are his son, Glynn Newell; daughter Kay Daugherty; six grandchildren; sisters Etoil Barto of Greenville and Eileen Warren; brothers Leon Newell and Alvin Newell, and friend Noreen Carpeaux.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Helen, and a brother, Emery Newell.

Vera Spradling

She died Friday in Harper Home Care, Lubbock.
She was born Feb. 5, 1909, in Caddo Mills. On Dec. 23, 1923, she married Henry E. Spradling in Caddo Mills. She worked as an aircraft tech at Ling-Temco-Vought, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie.
Survivors include two daughters, Norma L. Igo of Lamesa and Mildred Faye Brown of Grand Prairie; three sisters, Loraine Calloway and Elna Godfrey of Carrollton, and Juanita Louis of Dallas; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Branon Funeral Home, Lamesa, and on Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie.

SULPHUR SPRINGS - Funeral services for Tom Gammill, 87, of the Arbala community are at 2 p.m. today in the Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Alton Patton and Rev. Robert Burns officiating.
Burial is in the Arbala Cemetery.
Mr. Gammill died Wednesday afternoon in the Woodhaven Nursing Home.
He was born Dec. 6, 1911, in Arbala to Warren and Clarice Lee Gammill. He married Thalia Moore on Dec. 21, 1935, in Sulphur Springs. He was retired from Rockwell International and was a member of Arbala Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Mack, Johnny and Ted Gammill, all of Sulphur Springs, and Jerry Gammill of Quinlan; a sister, Salla Bradshaw of Celina; three brothers, Bill Gammill of Sulphur Springs, Ted Gammill of Mesquite and Joe Gammill of Idabel, Okla.; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Rena Wyatt; a brother, Morris Gammill; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers are David, Greg, Shannon, Keith, Brian and Mark Gammill. Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Legate, Tony Hurley, Jonathon Gammill, Shane Gammill, Justin Gammill, Chris White.
