CADDO MILLS - John T. Lemley, 75, died at his home Thursday following a lengthy illness. Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at the New Hope Light House Church.
He was born May 4, 1924 in Beckville to Rev. G.B. Lemley and Mahala Jimmerson Lemley. Mr. Lemley was an attorney.
He served as a colonel in the U.S. Army and retired in 1973 as the Assistant Chief of Staff for the Texas Adjutant General's office. He then worked as a litigation manager for the Kemper Insurance Group, retiring in 1982.
Mr. Lemley was president and chairman of the board for Professional Mediation Arbitration Services, Inc. He also served as a municipal judge for the cities of Caddo Mills and West Tawakoni.
He was a member of the American Indian Heritage Center in Dallas and of the Inter-Tribal Council in Tyler and Tulsa, Okla.
Mr. Lemley was a member of the Wichita Falls Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite Masonry, the Hella Temple Shrine, the Order of the Eastern Star and the York Rite Masons. He received the Legion of Honor in 1965 and the Grand Cross of Color from the Order of the Rainbow for Girls in 1964.
Mr. Lemley was a certified Texas Judge, was former director of TMCA and was the first chairman of the Insurance Advisory Committee to the Texas Industrial Accident Board from 1974 to 1975.
Surviving are his wife, Helen Lemley of Caddo Mills; a son, John Richard Lemley of Plano; daughters, Patti Jean Wilson of Caddo Mills and Jan Farley of Caddo Mills; two sisters, Ruth Horton of Leagueville and Faye Davis of Garland; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, G.B. Lemley Jr. and a grandson, Eddie West.
Pallbearers are James Wilson, Larry Farley, Danny Martin, J.R. Lemley, Randy Adair and Clarence Doolin.
Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Rentfrow Funeral Home.
Hazel Tucker
TUCSON, Ariz. - Hazel "Betsy" Bowman Tucker, 89, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Caddo Mills, died Monday. Services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Caddo Mills First United Methodist Church. Burial is in the family plot in Caddo Mills Cemetery.
Born on Oct. 5, 1909 in Caddo Mills, she was the daughter of Garnett and Bertha Bowman. She married Guernsey Tucker of Waco, who preceded her in death in 1940.
Prior to her marriage she worked as a nurse in Dallas. Following her husband's death she became one of the first woman workers in the Bomber Plant of Douglas Aircraft in Tulsa, Okla.
After the war she owned a floral business, Betsy's Flowers, in Tulsa which Mrs. Tucker operated for 35 years. She was named Business Woman of the Year in Tulsa in 1975.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Sheron Tucker of Terre Haute, Ind.; daughter, B.J. Thompson of Tucson, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Barrie Moler and husband Mark of Boulder, Colo., Scott Thompson of Tucson, Tobi Tucker of Tucson and Sara Palermo of Metheun, Mass.; two great-grandchildren, Sarah and Emily Moler; two sisters, Jimmie Nell Tanner of Tom Bean and Mary Lou DePaoli of Carmel, Calif. and nieces and nephews.
Eight sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
Visitation is from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Rentfrow Funeral Home in Caddo Mills.
Priscilla Youngblood
EMORY - Priscilla McAllister Youngblood, 72, of Alba died Thursday at the University of Texas Health Center in Tyler. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Jarrett officiating. Burial is in Dunbar Cemetery.
Mrs. Youngblood was born May 3, 1927, in Emory; the daughter of Arthur W. and Emma Walker Wade. She was married to Bertram Youngblood in 1970 in Dallas.
Mrs. Youngblood worked as a nurse at several area hospitals and was a Baptist.
Surviving are her husband of Mineola; sons, William McAllister and Michael McAllister, both of Emory; daughter, Peggy Hernandez of Plano; brother, Newton Wade of Emory; sister, Billie Hankey of Garland; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are grandsons and nephews.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Billy Jackson
Billy C. Jackson, 39, of Greenville died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. F.W. Willis officiating. Burial is in Grundy Memorial Park.
Mr. Jackson was born Sept. 21, 1959, in Caddo Mills; the son of Pete and Pearlie Jackson. He was a carpenter.
Surviving are his mother, Pearlie Jackson; brother, Terry Jackson of Greenville; and sisters, Arlene Davis of Greenville and Shirley Jackson of Houston.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends will serve as pallbearers.

Lois Litchfield
ATHENS - Services for Lois Gertrude Litchfield, 90, of Cross Roads were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Cross Roads Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Upchurch and Rev. Danny Gandy officiating. Burial was in Judson Cemetery near Cayuga.
Mrs. Litchfield died Sunday.
The daughter of Jim and Addie Duncan, she was born Sept. 2, 1908. She attended Denton University and earned her degree in teaching. She taught at Becks Chapel School for a year, worked at the Presbyterian Children's Home in Dallas and for the Cayuga School System.
She married Foster Litchfield on Oct. 27, 1934. She lived in the Cross Roads area most of her life but moved to the Guest House in Greenville in 1995 to be near family.
Mrs. Litchfield was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Royce and Linda Litchfield of Greenville and Keith and Gretta Litchfield of Longview; a brother, Tucker Duncan of Big Springs; four grandchildren, Jeff Litchfield of LaPorte, Bryan Litchfield of Greenville, Kendall Litchfield of Rosenburg and Lori Litchfield of Lewisville and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on May 28, 1984 and 19 brothers and sisters.
Nephews were pallbearers.

Billy Parker
COMMERCE - Billy Wayne Parker, 58, of Commerce died Tuesday at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Rev. Roy Lee Dittmar officiating. Burial is in Ridgeway Cemetery in Hopkins County.
The son of Robert W. Parker and Thelma Morgan Parker, he was born May 6, 1941 in Ridgeway. Mr. Parker was a self-employed painter.
He is survived by his mother of Ridgeway and several aunts, uncles and cousins. His father preceded him in death on Nov. 1, 1997.
Pallbearers are Dorman Morgan, Spencer Hinkle, James Parker, Joe Parker, Derwood Parker and James Morgan. Benny Parker, Bobby Parker and Gene Williams is an honorary pallbearer.
Herbert Rose
COMMERCE - Herbert "Herb" William Rose, 82, of Commerce died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dr. Bobby Tollison officiating. Cremation will follow.
The son of Ernest Rose and Deneig Dickson Rose, he was born June 30, 1917 in Castana, Iowa. On Nov. 25, 1945 he married Rose Anderson in Jackson, Minn. Mr. Rose retired from Supreme Beef.
Surviving are his wife of Commerce; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Judie Rose of Buffalo, Minn., Randy and Susan Rose of Austin and Ronald and Dena Anderson of Washington; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a sister, Helen Gadbois of Moore, Okla.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Enos Rose and a sister, Nellie Mae Barlow.
Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.
Hattie Ardis
Hattie Jo Ardis of Neylandville died Sunday at her home. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul Baptist Church in Neylandville with Rev. Vernon Minter officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
The daughter of Roosevelt Cole and Bessie Mae Ardis, she was born Oct. 24, 1927 in Greenville. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Baptist Church.
Surviving are three brothers, Willie R. McMurray of Dallas, Raymond Cole of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Bobby Cole of Gatesville and two sisters, Ima McMurray of Neylandville and Claudia Faye Carrol of Gatesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and a brother.
Pallbearers are Carl McMurray, Ezekiel Wilson Jr., Alferd McMurray, David Wilson, Alton Ray McMurray and Dennis McMurray.

George Raynes
COMMERCE - George Rankin Raynes, 84, of Commerce died Monday at North Central Medical Center in McKinney. Funeral services are at 11:30 a.m. today at Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike House officiating. Burial is in Sonora Cemetery in Fairlie.
Born March 22, 1915 in Fairlie, he was the son of William Franklin Raynes and Daisy Jackson Raynes. He married Christine Douglas in 1940 in Commerce.
He graduated from Fairlie High School and attended East Texas State Teachers College, where he was a member of the varsity basketball team.
Mr. Raynes farmed for many years in Fairlie and managed cotton gin operations in the Commerce area. He was elected and served as public weigher for Hunt County. He was a member of International Order of Odd Fellows.
Surviving are his wife of Commerce; son and daughter-in-law, George Douglas and Judy Raynes of Sherman; daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Mark Armentrout of McKinney; sister, Eva Mae Turner of Longview and grandchildren, Doug Raynes, Jennifer Raynes, Alyssa Armentrout and Nathan Armentrout.
He was preceded in death by brothers Eugene T. Raynes, Robert E. Lee Raynes, Earl E. Raynes, Lester F. Raynes, Oather E. Raynes and sisters Willie E. Raynes and Elsie L. Gossett.
International Order of Odd Fellows members Harold Horn, Second McQuery, Marion White, James Teel, Phill Anderson and James Hulen are pallbearers.
John Rogers
KRESS - John Rogers, 60, of Kress died Monday in the Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Simpson officiating. Burial is in Kress Cemetery.
Mr. Rogers was born Feb. 23, 1939, in Tulia and was a lifelong resident of Swisher County. He graduated from Kress High School in 1937
He owned and operated Rogers Garage for 40 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the National Guard Reserve. He also served on the Kress City Council.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Rhonda Rogers of Kress; a daughter and son-in-law, Zenita and Jacob Rogers of Hart; five grandchildren and three brothers, Harold Rogers of Greenville, Ed Rogers of Kress and Danny Rogers of Lake Tanglewood.
Pallbearers are Floyd Casteel, Tony Frausto, Tommy George, Jeff Reed, Ben Vineyard and Bud Stovall.
Memorials may be made to the Kress Cemetery Association.
