COMMERCE - James L. Cherrington, 60, of Klondike, formerly of Galesburg, Ill., died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Commerce. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at Watson Funeral Home in Galesburg, Ill. Military rites will be presented by American Legion Post 285 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Galesburg.
The son of Garden Glenn Cherrington and Alfreda Margauritte Underwood, he was born Feb. 23, 1939 in Galesburg, Ill. He was a veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Cherrington was a machine operator for Butler Manufacturing Co.
He is survived by sisters Joan Sadler of Klondike and Sandra Marsolek of LaPort, Minn. and a brother, Robert Cherrington of Galesburg.

Katharyne Felty
WOLFE CITY - Katharyne McCarroll Felty, 86 of Richardson, died Wednesday at the Gardens of Richardson Nursing Center following a long illness. There is a graveside service today at 2 p.m. at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Rev. Kevin Mitchell officiating.
Born Aug. 13, 1913, in Wolfe City, she was the daughter of E.E. and Dottye Warren McCarroll. She married Ray Felty on Dec. 21, 1936 in Dallas.
Mrs. Felty was a school teacher, retiring after 41 years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Paducah.
Surviving are god-daughters Dorotha Sandefur and Ann Long and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband preceded her in death on Nov. 11, 1997.

Betty Hargrow
Betty Ruth Hargrow of Greenville died Nov. 5 at her home. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Elem Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Hood officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
Born in Greenville on Nov. 11, 1944, she was the daughter of Jessie Davis and Ruth Callings. She married Nathaniel Hargrow Jr. in Hunt County in 1997.
Mrs. Hargrow was a homemaker and a member of Mt. Elem Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of Greenville; three sons, Johnny Benton of Dallas, Elbert Benton of Grand Prairie and Timothy Benton of Greenville; a daughter, Darlene Benton of Greenville; six brothers, Bobby Davis, Tommy J. Davis, Tommy Wayne Davis, Ronald Davis and John D. Davis, all of Greenville and Bill Ray Davis of California; eight sisters, Gloria G. Davis and Brenda Hunter of Greenville, Glenda Jackson of Emory, Linda Caldwell of Garland, Mary L. Thomas of Lubbock, Dorothy Carson of Dallas and Velma Smith and Emma McKinzie of Greenville; two stepsisters, Alice Woods and Annie Hamilton of Dallas and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, brother and granddaughter.

FARMERSVILLE - Vivian O'Neal, 82, of Farmersville died Tuesday in Greenville. There is a graveside service at 3 p.m. Saturday at Dawson Cemetery with Rev. Ricky Woodall officiating.
She was born May 17, 1918 in Dawson to George and Della York Moore. Mrs. O'Neal was a beautician. She was a Baptist.
Surviving are a son, Lynn B. O'Neal Jr. of Portland, Ore.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Fielder-Baker Funeral Home of Farmersville.
Jean Webb
DALLAS - Jean Price Webb, 81, of Dallas died Wednesday at St. Paul Hospital. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at St. Christopher Episcopal Church, Lovers Lane and Central Expressway, with Rev. Matt Tracy officiating. Burial will be in Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville.
She was born in Collin County on Oct. 13, 1918 to Henry Emmett Price and Ouida Ozella White Price. She was a member of St. Christopher Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Webb graduated Cum Laude from East Texas State Teacher's College (now Texas A&M University-Commerce) where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.
She was a member of the Texas A&M University-Commerce Foundation Board and a member of Daughters of the King at St. Christopher Episcopal Church. She was also an Ex-Regent of the Rockwall Chapter of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution; Dallas Genealogical Society and was named "Woman of the Year" by the American Business Women's Association Ñ DAL X Chapter.
Mrs. Webb was a member of the Hugenot Society of the Founders of Manakin in the Colony of Virginia and was a member of Major James McGregor Chapter Colonial Dames of the XVII Century.
She is survived by a friend, Mary Carolyn Trent, of Dallas.

Jimmy Jernise White of Greenville died Sunday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Wesley Chapel CME Church with Rev. Norris D. Curry officiating. Burial is in Grundy Memorial Park.
The daughter of Jim and Hettie Thomas, she was born Aug. 26, 1915 in Wolfe City. She and Tessie White were married in Hunt County.
Mrs. White was a child day care operator. She was a member of Wesley Chapel CME Church.
Mrs. White is survived by a son, Jimmy Thomas of Dallas; four nieces, Primrose Murrell of Greenville, Virgie Spencer and Betty Jane Wright of Dallas and Melva Jean Griffins of Alabama; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and 11 brothers and sisters.
Friends of the family will serve as pallbearers.

Wynette Almon
Wynette Almon, 74, of Campbell died Tuesday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Prairie Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Witt officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Valley Cemetery.
The daughter of Wilburn Moreland and Ottie Moxley Moreland, she was born Aug. 6, 1925 in Cumby. On Aug., 9, 1941, she married Wesley Almon in Oklahoma.
Mrs. Almon had worked for Lewis Grocery in Cumby and Piggly Wiggly in Sulphur Springs. She was a housewife. She was a member of Prairie Valley Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of Campbell; two sons, Geary Almon of Cumby and Randy Valton Almon of Rockwall; daughter Patsy Wynette Parris of Quitman; a sister, Maxine Bivings of Tyler; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Willard Moreland and a sister, Corine Watson and her parents.
Pallbearers are Rusty Moreland, Ronny Moreland, Geary Don Almon, Scotty Almon, Eric Almon and Jackie Holly.

YUMA, Ariz. - Donald L. Boswell of Yuma died Monday. Services have not yet been scheduled.
He was born June 9, 1935 in Farmington, Mo. to Lucille Boswell and Evault Boswell. Mr. Boswell was a retired truck driver.
Surviving are his wife Marsha Boswell of Yuma, Ariz.; son West Boswell of Winfield, Mo.; sister Alma Dean Boswell of Farmington, Mo. and brother E.M. Boswell of Greenville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bill Boswell.

The daughter of John and Alice Moreland Watkins, she was born Oct. 19, 1911 in Altoga. Mrs. Watson had worked as a sales clerk. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Farmersville.
She is survived by daughters Janet Edgar of Farmersville and Glenda Deaton of Paris; stepdaughter, Linda Yates of Shreveport, La.; sister Hazel Pierce of Richardson; four grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mary Wilburn-Greer
Mary Etta Wilburn-Greer of Commerce died Saturday at Baylor Medical City in Garland. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. Friday at Griffin Chapel CME Church with Rev. Harold Panell officiating. Burial is in the Norris Community.
Born Oct. 31, 1910 in Sulphur Springs, she was the daughter of John and Mary Bonnoer Wilburn. She grew up and attended schools in Commerce. She married William Matthew Greer Sr.
Mrs. Greer worked at East State Texas State University for many years and was later employed by in-home care. She was a member of Griffin Chapel CME Church.
Surviving are three sons, William Matthew Greer Jr. and Weldon Robert Greer, both of Dallas and Marion Ivan Greer of Commerce; sister Sadie Wilburn and brother N.C. Wilburn, both of Commerce; 30 grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband.
Pallbearers are Darron Drennon, Gary Martin, Billy Reed, John Adair, Douglas Striggers and Audrey Kinchelow. Helen Lowe
COMMERCE - Helen Brown Lowe, 92, of Commerce died Tuesday at her residence. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at Pemberton Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bobby Tollison officiating. Burial is in Sonora Cemetery in Fairlie.
Born May 15, 1907 in Fairlie, she was the daughter of Ruben Brown and Princess Luke Brown. She received her bachelor of arts and master of education degrees from East Texas State University. She married Hiram M. Lowe in 1926.
Mrs. Lowe taught in Texas public schools for 26 years, mostly in Richardson and retired in 1976. She then moved to the Commerce area.
Mrs. Lowe was an active member of First Baptist Church and the Rebekah Sunday School class. She reviewed books for the church library, played piano for her Sunday School department and served on several church committees. She also did volunteer work.
Surviving are a son, Hiram M. "Kin" Lowe Jr. of Commerce; daughter-in-law, Dianne Lowe of Commerce; daughter, Ann Adams of Richardson and grandsons Kyle Lowe of Commerce, Rev. Dr. Mark Adams of Edinburg and Paul Adams of San Francisco, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Weldon Brown of Fairlie and Luther Brown of Texarkana.
Pallbearers are Joe Fred Cox, Herman Bennett Jr., Herman Bennett III, Warren Dunham, Wayne Burt and Randy Manning. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Wayne Burt, Otis Horton and Members of the Senior Adult I Sunday School department.

Theda Faye Roach, 77, of Celeste died Monday at Smith's Nursing Home in Wolfe City. Funeral services are at 1 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rick Henslee officiating. Burial is in Celeste Cemetery.
Born in Farmersville on Nov. 9, 1921, she was the daughter of V.E. and Gladys Lucille Mize Giles. On Aug. 20, 1941 she married Howard Lynn Roach in Oklahoma.
Mrs. Roach was retired from Love's Factory in Celeste, Haggar's Pant Factory in Greenville and Gilbert's Nursing Home in Leonard. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.
Surviving are a son, Howard "Bud" Roach Jr. and wife Cecelia Compton Roach of Whitewright; daughters Sarah Roach Swindell and husband Jerry of Celeste and Alice Roach Garcia and husband John of Celeste; son-in-law David W. Pruitt of Midland; a brother, Fred Giles of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren David Swindell of Sherman, Jennifer and Kevin Roach of Whitewright, Jeffrey Garcia, John Allen Garcia and Shelly Swindell of Celeste, Jana Pruitt Shipp, John David Pruitt and Charles Tyler Pruitt of Midland and grandchildren by marriage Tara White Garcia of Celeste and Matt Shipp of Midland; great-grandchildren Jeffrey Blake Garcia of Celeste and Aaron Patrick Shipp of Midland and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 16, 1976, brothers V.J. and Tom Giles; sister Zelleva Giles Abernathy Smith and daughter, Patricia Ann Roach Pruitt in 1998.

Alice Weaver
LEONARD - Funeral services for Alice Beatrice Weaver, 86, of Bonham are at 1 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Bradley officiating. Burial is in Grove Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Weaver died Monday at Northeast Medical Center in Bonham.
She was born April 16, 1913 in Jackson, Miss., daughter of John Thomas Wadford and Bessie Boyd Wadford. She married Monroe Harold Weaver on June 20, 1933 in Oklahoma.
Mrs. Weaver was a homemaker and a member of the Gober Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughters Ida Bennett of Melissa, Martha Matthews of Wears Valley, Tenn., Mary Zachary of Bonham and Joan Bruedigam of Melissa; sister Elizabeth Blanton of Wichita Falls; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Her husband preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 1995.
Frances Drake
HALTOM CITY - Frances Maxine Drake, 82, of Haltom City died Nov. 1 at a North Richland Hills hospital. Funeral services were Nov. 4 at Haltom Road Baptist Church. There was a graveside service Nov. 5 at Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville.
She was born March 12, 1917 in Commerce. Mrs. Drake was a longtime member of Haltom Road Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a resident of Haltom City for 32 years. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are a son, George Terry Drake of Haltom City; brothers H.M. Terry of Amarillo and James Terry of Freeport and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, George W. "Dick" Drake, preceded her in death.

Clara Gilliam
Clara E. Gilliam of Pinecrest Nursing Home in Tyler died Sunday at East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Randy Daw officiating. Burial will be in Wieland Cemetery.
Born Aug. 21, 1901 in Hunt County, she was the daughter of Jim McKinney and Elizabeth Babb. On Feb. 5, 1919 she married R.O. Gilliam in Greenville.
Mrs. Gilliam had worked in retail sales. She was a member of Riverside Church of Christ in Coppell.
Surviving are a grandson, Ed Gilliam of Coppell; great-grandsons, Chris Gilliam and Jeff Gilliam and two great-great-grandsons, Allan Gilliam and Zachary Gilliam.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 3, 1990 and by one son.
Pallbearers are Ed Gilliam, Chris Gilliam, Jeff Gilliam, Rick Belyeu, Charlie Haney and Milton Haney.
