CENTER Cathy Jeanean Fields, 38, of Dunnigan, died Saturday at St. Lukes Hospital in Houston. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Watson & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Calvin Hancock and Billy Windham officiating. Burial is at East Hamilton Cemetery.
Mrs. Fields was a longtime resident of Shelby County. She was employed at the office of Dr. Stephen Sayers in Center.
Surviving are husband Gene Fields of Dunnigan; son, Alpha Fields of Center; daughters, Whitney Denney and Hannah Fields, both of Dunnigan; parents, Edward and Jeamn Risinger of Dunnigan; grandmother, Ercy Risingedr of Dunnigan; brother, Keith Risinger of Mauriceville; and sister, Cindy McGuire of Carthage.
Pallbearers are are Tom Swearingen, B. A. Sanford, Travis Risinger, Lamar Norton, Lamar Smith and Robert Risinger.

QUINLAN Rudy Garland Cook of Grapevine has died in Kansas. There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. today at Cana Cemetery with Ronnie King officiating.
Born in Paris, he was the son of Sherman A. and Ollie G. Winfrey Cook. Mr. Cook served in the U.S. Marines. He was employed by Security Assurance System.
Surviving are a stepdaughter, Francis Cook of Fort Worth, sister Carron Hare of Grapevine, nieces Tiffany Bradberry and Kim Vanderveen, and five grandnieces.

Alfred Gentry
SHERMAN Graveside services for Alfred Gentry, 61, of Sherman will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Blue Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Johnnie Jones officiating.. He died Saturday in Sherman.
Mr. Gentry was born in Trenton to Alfred and Annie Abston Gentry Sr. on April 22, 1938. He was a Baptist and employed as a machinist.
Survivors include sons Mike Gentry and Rodney Gentry, both of Houston; mother of Sherman; sister Barbara Pruett of Antlers, Okla.; and one grandchild.

Van Linkswiler
Van Edward Linkswiler, 56, of Greenville died Friday at DFW Hospital in Grand Prairie. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Eastmount Cemetery with Rev. Vernell Nelson officiating.
He was born June 11, 1943, to Samuel Walker Linkswiler and Clara Tarwater in Savanaha, Okla. A veteran of the United States Navy, Mr. Linkswiler worked in hospital maintenance.
Survivors include sons Jeffrey Linkswiler of Norman, Okla., and Vance Linkswiler of Dallas; daughters Michelle Linkswiler of Greenville and Christi Linkswiler of Quinlan; brother Ray Linkswiler of Okla.; sister Barbara Syle of Powderly; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be at Peters Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m. today.
Ardis Phillips
La GRANGE Greenville native Ardis Phillips of La Grange died Saturday at her home at the age of 93. Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the La Grange Methodist Church with burial in Greenville at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Phillips was born on July 25, 1906, to James A. and Katherine Ardis Phillips. After receiving her degrees from the University of Texas, she taught journalism at the University of Houston. She spent much time doing volunteer work and was a member of the Methodist Church, the Honorary Society of Journalism, the Garden Club and Friday Club.
Surviving are a sister, Katherine Dobbs Stough of La Grange, a neice, Katherine Dobbs Pearce of Kerrville, a great nephew and a great niece. She was preceded in death by a sister.

LEONARD Audrey Scott, 78, of Pike died Saturday at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Pike Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Bates and Rev. J.D. Horton Officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery.
The daughter of Edgar Kent and Althea Box Kent, Mrs. Scott was born in Achille, Okla., on September 17, 1921. She married Willie Mack "Cush" Scott on June 30, 1951, in Durant, Okla.
She was a housewife and member of the Pike Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughter Joyce Scott of Blue Ridge, son Alfred Scott of Leonard, brother Benton Kent of Blue Ridge and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in August of 1979.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home in Leonard.
Eula Bowen
EMORY Eula Mae Bowen, 91, of Emory died Thursday at ETMC in Quitman. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Smyrna Cemetery with Rev. Montie Parker officiating.
Daughter of Noble Sinner and Dolly Gillum, she was born Sept. 1, 1908 in Tarrant County. She and Jim B. Bowen were married in Emory in 1956. Mrs. Bowen was a homemaker. She was a member of Assembly of God.
She is survived by grandson Nobel Birket of Glen Burnie, Md. and one great-grandchild.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1982.

Mozelle Steen Danvers, 87, of Dallas, died Thursday at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas. There is a graveside service at 11 a.m. today at Forest Park Cemetery with Rev. Marilyn Dickson officiating.
Daughter of Frank Steen and Stella Dingler Steen, she was born March 23, 1912 in Campbell. On April 10, 1955 she married Hollis F. Danvers in Greenville.
Mrs. Danvers was a retired administrative assistant to the chairman of the State Board of Insurance. She was a member of Northway Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Dallas.
Survivors include sister-in-law Josephine Steen of Dallas; nieces and husbands Judy Steen and Bob Christopher of Dallas, Cheri Steen and Pat Neil of Dallas and Joel Steen and Tommy Reynolds of Dallas; stepson and wife Hollis B. and Kirsten Danvers of New Braunfels; cousin and wife Rush and Winnie Steen of Greenville; four great-nephews; three great-nieces and one great-great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1972 and brothers Harlan Steen in 1918, Frank G. "Hip" Steen in 1984 and J.C. "Babe" Steen in 1993.
Pallbearers will be nephews Bob Christopher, Pat Neil, Tommy Reynolds and great-nephews Clay Christopher, Alan Christopher, David Christopher and John Christopher.

She was born March 12, 1924.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law Joseph and Judy Foti of Michigan, William and Carol Foti of Pennsylvania, Raymond and Hatsuko Foti of North Carolina and Charles and Carmen Foti of Greenville; daughter and son-in-law Donna and Robert Pfeil of Maryland; one sister; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Foti, in 1989; parents and one brother.
W.T. Goad
W.T. Goad, 90, of Greenville died Thursday at Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Central Christian Church with Dr. David Darnell and Dr. Raymond Anderson Boulter Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Son of William Thomas Goad Sr. and Zona Frances Smith, he was born Aug. 25, 1909 in Myrtle Springs. He married Helen Kathleen Boggess on May 8, 1931 in Hugo, Okla. He was the retired owner of Goad's Garage. Mr. Goad was a member of Central Christian Church and Greenville I.O.O.F. Lodge.
He is survived by daughters Helen Mary Sorrells of Ardmore, Okla. and Martha Howard of Allen; four grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 12, 1993; two brothers; four sisters and three half sisters.
Pallbearers will be Greg Gibbs, Ed Patterson, Matthew Patterson, Drew Patterson, D.A. Steele and James Woodruff. Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Roy, Raymond Stevens, Tommy Jackson and Buster White.

Clint Howell
Funeral services for Clint B. Howell, 81, of Kilgore will be at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Radar Funeral Home, Kilgore. He died Thursday morning following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Howell is survived by his wife, Jewell Howell; sons Ray C. Howell of Greenville and Clint G. Howell of Kilgore; daughter Wanda Sayler of Kilgore and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Grandchildren living in Greenville are Amanda Howell, Scott Howell and Brandon Howell and great-grandchildren are Brooke Howell and Devlin Howell.
Curtis Tapp
Curtis Tapp, 84, of Greenville, died Friday at Park Haven Nursing Center. There is a graveside service at 2 p.m. today at Forest Park Cemetery with Rev. William McNatt officiating.
Son of Matt Tapp and Mary Jane "Molly" Hogan Tapp, he was born Oct. 30, 1914 in Hunt County. In May 1946 he married Ida Lee McClain in Greenville. He graduated from Wolfe City High School.
Mr. Tapp was an employee of the Civil Service serving at Pearl Harbor. He was parts manager for East Texas Distributors. He attended Grace Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are brothers Hollis Tapp of Greenville and Glen Tapp of Cash; brother-in-law Jimmy McClain of Greenville; sister-in-law Dorothy Foote of Greenville and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Feb. 28, 1997; four brothers and three sisters.

Rev. Chester Thomas
Rev. Chester Thomas of Greenville died Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville. Funeral services are at 11 a.m. today at Bethel AME Church with Joe Yates officiating. Burial will be in East Mount Cemetery.
He was born June 2, 1919 in Hempstead, Ark. to Nell and Lillie Hamilton Thomas. He married Lucy Pondexter on Aug. 24, 1957 in Greenville. Rev. Thomas was pastor of New Light House of Prayer.
Survivors include his wife of Greenville; six sons, George Nelson, James Nelson and Sylvester Thomas of Greenville, Robert Nelson and Charles Thomas of Texarkana, Ark. and Oscar Cartwright of Dallas; five daughters, Irene Lane of Dallas and Wanda Jeffery, Lillie Sanders, Vera Powell and Jackie Henry, all of Greenville; a brother, Elijah Thomas of Greenville; 65 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.
Two sisters preceded him in death.
Pallbearers will be John Garrett, Kenneth Hines, Phillip Brown, Daniel Keeling, Solomon Pierce, James Morton Jr., James Gipson and Eugene McFadden.

George Welch
ROYSE CITY Funeral services for George Arnold Welch Sr., 79, of Quinlan will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Royse City with George McCain, pastor, and Earl Watson, pastor, officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in the Livelyville Cemetery near Palestine.
He was born in Luling on Sept. 26, 1920. Mr. Welch received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star while serving in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant in the 36th Division during World War II.
He was a diesel mechanic and attended the First Baptist Church of Royse City.
Surviving are his wife, Beatrice Welch, of Quinlan; daughters Linda Kay Officer, Marian Jean Hill and Jonell Peck, all of Luling; brother John Welch of Tyler and numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A son, George Welch Jr., preceded him in death in 1998.
Visitation will be come-and-go from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Rest Haven Funeral Home, Royse City Chapel, 141 West Main.
Robbie Williams
DALLAS Robbie Lee Williams died Thursday in Dallas. Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Wildwood Chapel of Restland Funeral Home with Rev. Irv Roorda officiating.
Born in Leonard on Sept. 1, 1910, she was the daughter of Nora and Robert Lee Rigney. She attended Burleson College in Greenville. Mrs. Williams was a member of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church in Dallas for 40 years.
Survivors include son James Rigney of Dallas; daughter Kay Bichler of Dallas and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Walter B. "Dub" Williams in 1983 and a son, Ronald B. Williams in 1996.
Pallbearers will be nephews William Creel, Louis Guy Creel, Robert McDaniel, Robert Rigney, great-nephew Jack Rigney McDaniel and grandson Brandon Bichler. Honorary pallbearer will be niece Martha Roark.

The daughter of Imogene Chisolm and Gardy Neale, she was born Aug. 14, 1921 in Greenville. She married William Burnett in Greenville in September 1945.
Mrs. Burnett was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and Ruth Circle Missionary Society.
Surviving are two sons, Dennis Burnett of Inglewood, Calif. and Billy Burnett of Tyler; six daughters, Ava Matthews, Sherry Ward and Quintina Jones of Greenville and Estella Parks, Jennifer Hall and Gloria Parker of Dallas; a sister, Billie Joe Neal of Los Angeles, Calif.; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Vicky Burnett and a brother, Eugene Tabb.
