M.J. Baughman
Funeral services for M.J. Baughman, 80, of Lake Cooper, were held Friday, July 6, at Aulds Funeral Home in Archer City with Roger Deerinwater, pastor of First Baptist Church of Archer City, officiating.
Mr. Baughman was born Oct. 5, 1926, in Corpus Christi to the late Jeff and Velva McElvany Baughman. He died Monday, July 2, in Wichita Falls.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and U.S. Merchant Marines and then owned and operated B&B Trucking in Archer City. He and Jo Ann Bitner were married on Dec. 24, 1947, in Archer City.
In 1964 he began working for the Santa Fe Railroad as a sheet metal worker. He was a member of the International Sheet Metal Workers Union. Mr. Baughman retired in 1988 and moved to Lake Cooper.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Barry Baughman.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann, of Lake Cooper; two sons, Mike and wife Terri of Llano and Richie of Newcastle; one daughter, Paula Baker and husband Randy of Amarillo; one brother, Richard Baughman and wife Wyvon of Brownwood; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Claude “Sonny” Hobbs
Graveside services for Claude “Sonny” Hobbs, 72, of Olney, were held Sunday, July 8, in the Newcastle Cemetery with Scotte Clark of Olney officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
Mr. Hobbs was born Jan. 22, 1935, in Newcastle to the late Claude Morris and Daisy (Gray) Hobbs. He died Friday, July 6, in Wichita Falls.
He and Alice Sadler were married Oct. 14, 1955, in Salome, Ariz. He was a carpenter and a member of the International Carpenter’s Union in Phoenix, Ariz..
Mr. Hobbs was a member of the Baptist Church. He moved to Newcastle from Glendale, Ariz., in 1997, and from Newcastle to Olney in 2005.
He was preceded in death by two sons, James Hobbs and Steven Hobbs; one daughter, Angela Hope Hobbs; and two sisters, Pauline Suitor and Georgia “Tiny” Francisco.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Hobbs of Olney; two sons, David A. Hobbs and Morris Hobbs and wife Terrie, all of Glendale, Ariz.; one daughter, Cindy Stinson and husband Scott of Olney; one sister, Joyce McDaniel of Carrizo Springs; six grandchildren, Jason Hobbs of Glendale, Ariz., Brad Hobbs of Peoria, Ariz., Robert Stinson of Olney, Kelli Hobbs of Glendale, Ariz., Stephanie Stinson and Joshua Stinson, both of Olney; and two great-grandchildren, Aaron Hobbs and Hailey Hobbs, both of Peoria, Ariz.

Juanita C. Walsh
Funeral services for Juanita C. Walsh, 95, of Mineral Wells, were held Saturday, April 28, at Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel with Adam Kendall-Ball officiating. Interment followed in Restland Cemetery, with arrangements under the direction under direction of Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home.
Mrs. Walsh was born June 1, 1911, in Elbert to E.T. and Jessie Gresham Chandler. She died Tuesday, April 24, in Weatherford.
She married William Lacy Walsh on July 15, 1935, in Fort Davis. He preceded her in death in 1957. She was a longtime resident of Mineral Wells and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Walsh was a member of the Palo Pinto Retired Teacher’s Association and the Palo Pinto County Porcelain Art Club. She was also preceded in death by three brothers.
Survivors include her children, Beverly Lilly and husband Wallace of Houston, and William Walsh and wife Linda of Florence, Ala.; grandchildren Michael Lilly, David Lilly, Cheryl Anderson and Brian Lilly; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jim Chandler of Throckmorton.
Wanda Jean “Jeanie” Rockenbaugh
Funeral services for Wanda Jean “Jeanie” Rockenbaugh, 50, of Graham, were held Wednesday, May 2, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Graham with Kenneth Rials officiating. Interment followed in Restland Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Rockenbaugh was born Oct. 19, 1956, in Olney to Benny and Wanda (Middaugh) Brown. She died Sunday, April 29, in Wichita Falls.
She and Allen Rockenbaugh were married March 19, 1985, in Olney. She was a nurse’s aide and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Graham. She moved back to Graham from Olney in 2006. Mrs. Rockenbaugh was preceded in death by her mother, Wanda Brown, on Aug. 11, 1991, and her brother, Steve Brown, on July 11, 2000.
Survivors include her husband, Allen, of Graham; one son, Derrick Rockenbaugh of Olney; three daughters, Kesty Rieb and husband Allan of Dennison, Iowa, Amanda Rockenbaugh of Westside, Iowa, and Whitney Rockenbaugh of Graham; her father, Benny Brown of Olney; and two grandchildren, Matthew Rockenbaugh and Aden Rieb.

Jan Renfro Whittenburg
Funeral services for Jan Renfro Whittenburg of Olney were held Wednesday, April 25, at the First United Methodist Church in Olney with the Rev. Len Johnson, pastor, and Larry Pratt of Graham officiating. Interment followed in the Gooseneck Cemetery in Young County under direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
Ms. Whittenburg was born in Haskell to the late Loid and Audrey (Bonifield) Renfro. She died Sunday, April 22, in Olney.
She was a member of the West Texas Barrel Racing Association. She attended beauty school in Abilene, was a hairdresser and was employed at Classic Beauty in Olney for 12 years. She moved to Olney from Graham in 1997, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Olney.
Survivors include one son, Cody Newsome of Olney; two sisters, Donna Renfro of Wichita Falls and Beverly Bolton and husband Mac of Phoenix, Ariz.; three nephews; three great-nephews and two great-nieces.

Carlton “Bubba” Lipps
Funeral services for Carlton “Bubba” Lipps, 50, of Olney, were held Sunday, April 22, in the chapel of Lunn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Andy Graham, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating. Interment followed in Newcastle Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
Mr. Lipps was born Nov. 26, 1956, in Borger to Lloyd L. “Bodie” and LaQuita (Warren) Lipps. He died Thursday, April 19, in Olney.
He was an auto mechanic and worked for Dowell in Borger and Perryton, as well as Groendyke in Borger.
Mr. Lipps moved to Olney from Houston in 2002, and was a member of the Gateway Baptist Church in Borger.
Survivors include one son, Colton Lipps of Amarillo; his parents, Bodie and LaQuita Lipps of Olney; three sisters, Sandy Duncan and husband Jim of Houston, Alicia Chambers and husband Jay of Wichita Falls and Juanisha Heidelberg of Olney; and three nephews.

Renata Kunkel
Funeral services for Renata Kunkel, 96, of Olney, were held Saturday, April 14, at the St. Luke Lutheran Church with the Rev. Sean Reeves, pastor, officiating. Interment followed in the St. Luke Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kunkel was born Dec. 4, 1910, in Clifton to the late Christian Andrew and Marie (Isnsee) Braune. She died Wednesday, April 11, in Dallas.
She and Ernest Wilde were married for 10 years, and after his death she and Edward Quilter were married for 22 years.
After Mr. Quilter’s death she and J.O. Kunkel were married for nine years prior to his death in 1997. She moved to Olney in 1984 after living in the Houston area for 35 years, and was a homemaker and a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Kunkel was preceded in death by a brother, Edgar A. Braune, on March 22, 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Jean Lerner and husband Alan of Huntsville; a step-son, Ken Kunkel of Olney; one brother, Hilmar Braune of Olney; two grandsons, Steve Smith of Garland and Robert Smith of Garland; one granddaughter, Rebecca Ochoa of Dickinson; and four great-grandchildren.

Roberta Faye Lanen
Services for Roberta Faye Lanen, 67, of Houston, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 13, in the Loving Cemetery Chapel in Loving with the Rev. Mike Watson, pastor of Loving Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in the Loving Cemetery under the direction of Lunn Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 16, at the Champion Forest Baptist Church in Houston.
Ms. Lanen was born Jan. 24, 1940, in Loving to the late James F. and Thelma (Neves) Oliver. She died Friday, July 6, in Houston.
She was a graduate of Graham High School and received her bachelor of science degree from Hardin-Simmons University and her master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin University. She taught school in Conroe, Killeen, College Station, La Marque and The Woodlands in Texas, and also in Augusta, Ga. She retired from teaching in 1980 while at Lamar Elementary in Conroe.
Ms. Lanen was a member of the Champion Forest Baptist Church in Houston, and moved to Houston from Conroe in 1974.
Survivors include four brothers, Charles Oliver and wife June of Waco, James Oliver and wife Judy of Comanche, Okla., Ricky Oliver and wife Staci of Olney and Jerry Oliver and wife Lori of Greenville, N.C.; two sisters, Betty Brown of Brownwood and Mary Williams and husband Dale of Freeport; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 12.
