SANTIAGO M. ORTIZ

LA JOYA — Santiago M. Ortiz, 80, died April 16, 1999, at Mission Nursing Center. He had lived in La Joya all of his life and was a retired farmer/rancher.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Librada O. Salinas, Matilde O. Salinas and Anita O. Palacios.

Survivors include his brother, Nicolas Ortiz (Emilia) of La Joya; sisters, Margarita O. Garza of La Joya, and Olivia O. Cavazos of Cleburne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held at 3 p.m. today, Saturday, April 17, 1999, at Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in La Joya. Deacon Lucio Flores will officiate. Burial will follow at La Joya Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Juan David Ortiz, Leroy Ortiz, Baldemar Palacios, Rufino Cavazos, Manuel Cavazos and Jimmy Cavazos.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ricardo Ortiz and Gonzalo O. Cavazos.

ANTONIA LUNA

12-28-1917 – 04-19-1999

EDINBURG — Antonia Luna entered eternal rest early Monday, April 19, 1999, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center at the age of 81.

She was born on Dec. 28, 1917, in Tacuba Brooks Co., Texas to the late Antonio and Catarina Rodriguez. She was married to Gustavo Luna, who died in October 1995. She was a resident of Edinburg for many years.

Mrs. Luna was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving children, Gumaro Luna and Gonzalo Luna, both of Edinburg, Jesus Luna of Fresno, Calif., Ricardo Luna of San Antonio, Oscar Luna of Houston, Romeo Luna of Pharr, Gloria Rodriguez of Elsa, America Garcia, Lucia Garcia and Zulema Garcia, all of Edinburg, and Maria Ramirez of Pharr; two brothers, Jose Rodriguez and Ememorio Rodriguez, both of Edinburg; a sister, Ramona Guevarra of Rio Grande City; 30 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 1999, at Gonzalez Funeral Home in Edinburg, with a rosary prayed at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. today, April 21, 1999, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Burial services will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery in Edinburg.

Funeral services are under the direction of Gonzalez Funeral Home in Edinburg.

DESIDORA LUERA MARGO

WESLACO — Desidora Luera Margo, 72, died Monday, April 19, 1999, in Weslaco. She was born April 4, 1927, in Salineno, Texas and was a lifetime resident of Weslaco.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Calixto M. Margo of Weslaco; four sons, Jose Ernesto Margo of San Antonio, Juan Antonio Margo of Arlington, Calixto Eliseo (Dalia) Margo of Weslaco, and Daniel Margo of Arlington; three daughters, Argelia M. (Rolando) Garza of Weslaco, Maria Teresa M. (Juan) Grimaldo of San Antonio and Maria Juanita (Jose Enrique) Galvan of Weslaco; two sisters, Elida Trevino and Olivia Rivera, both of Weslaco; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Prudencio Luera and Eduardo Luera.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today, April 21, 1999, at Hawkins Funeral Home in Weslaco. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 1999, at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco. Officiating will be Deacon Francisco Caballero. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.

OFELIA QUINTERO DEL FIERRO

McALLEN — Ofelia Quintero Del Fierro, 69, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 19, 1999, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. She lost a long battle with cancer.

Mrs. Del Fierro was preceded in death by her sons, Baldomero Del Fierro and Gilbert Fierro Jr.; her parents, Guadalupe Lopez Quintero and Catarino Quintero. Mrs. Del Fierro was born and raised in Reynosa until 1952. She lived in Pharr for several years. She would later come to make her home in McAllen.

Mrs. Del Fierro was known as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will be terribly missed by the many lives she touched. She shared her unconditional love daily and taught others to do the same. She spent countless hours with her Bible daily and worshipping the Lord Jesus. Her favorite Psalm was Psalm 23, which now brings comfort and peace to her family.

Mrs. Del Fierro will be greatly missed by her loving children that include, two daughters, Ofelia (Robert) Correa, and Amparo (Jaime) Lopez; one son, Roldan Del Fierro; two brothers, Albino (Bertha) Quintero and Antonio (Maria) Quintero; nephews and nieces. She will especially be missed by her grandchildren, Nicholas Perez, Andy Del Fierro, Aaron Del Fierro, Alex Del Fierro, and Yesenia Lopez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Albino (brother), Antonio Quintero (son), Roldan Del Fierro and Alex Del Fierro (grandsons). Pallbearers will be Aaron Del Fierro, Andy Del Fierro, Nicholas Perez, Robert Correa, and Jaime B. Lopez.

Viewing and visitations begin today, April 21, 1999, from 1 to 9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Ceballos Funeral Home in McAllen. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 1999, at Trinity Worship Center. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Ceballos Funeral Home in McAllen.

AMADOR LUIS SALINAS

EDINBURG — Amador Luis Salinas entered eternal rest on Monday, April 19, 1999. Born Jan. 7, 1916, in Falfurrias, he was preceded in death by his wife, Estefana L. Salinas, in 1994. He is survived by his children, Juan Ambriz Salinas (Sofia) of San Antonio, Maria America Salinas of San Antonio, and Amelio S. Casarez (Pedro) of San Antonio; grandchildren, Carlos and Ricardo Salinas and Patricia Cazares; sisters, Ruth S. Sandoval of Corpus Christi, Eloisa S. Rodriguez (Manuel) of Kingsville, and Zulema S. Vielma (Jesse); and sisters-in-law, Natalia L. Trevino and Guadalupe Longoria; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Salinas was a longtime employee of the Hidalgo County Water Deptartment and a longtime resident of Edinburg before moving to San Antonio two years ago. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today, April 21, 1999, at Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 22, 1999, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Services were entrusted to Ceballos-Diaz Funeral Home in Edinburg.

ROBERT L. MILLER

DONNA — Memorial services for Robert L. Miller, 76, will be held at the Sagmiller Vaughan Funeral Home at 10 a.m. today, April 21, 1999, until 2 p.m. Burial services will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Mr. Miller died Sunday, April 18, 1999, in a San Antonio hospital from injuries sustained in a pedestrian auto accident that occurred Feb. 2, 1999, in Donna. Born Feb. 8, 1923, in Fordice, Ark. to Timothy and Genevieve Miller, he was a self-employed produce truck driver for more than 45 years. He moved to Donna in the early 1970s, and served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a truck driver in Germany.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Dillon of Donna; one son, Robert L. Miller Jr., of Killeen; one daughter, Judy C. Carmichle of Little Rock, Ark.; one sister, Jean Evans of Little Rock, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Timothy Milo Miller and Genevieve Harvey; two sisters, Bertha Miller and Helen Smith of Fordice, Ark.; and one daughter, Sandra K. Wilson of Cabot, Ark.

MARCELLA K. RHYNE

McALLEN — Marcella K. Rhyne, 91, died Tuesday, April 20, 1999, in Austin. Mrs. Rhyne was born in Georgetown and was a Valley resident for many years. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one step-son, Larry Rhyne of Port Isabel, Texas; and one step-daughter, Norma Lea James of Corpus Christi; three step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman A. Rhyne in December 1995.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, April 21, 1999, at Kreidler Funeral Home on N. 10th Street in McAllen. Funeral Mass will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 1999, at St. Jude's Catholic Church, 505 S. Ironwood, Pharr, Texas. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery on North Taylor Rd.

Services were entrusted to the care of Kreidler Funeral Home, Inc. in McAllen.

RICARDO GARZA
MISSION — Ricardo Garza, 41, passed away Saturday, April 24, 1999, at McAllen Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his father, Benito Garza, Sr. in 1995.
Mr. Garza is survived by his loving wife, Maria Del Jesus of Mission; his children, Ricardo Garza Jr. and Carolina Garza, both of Mission; his mother, Rumalda Garza of Sullivan City; four sisters, Leonor Ruiz of McAllen, Estela Ibarra of Mission, Criselda and Maria Isabel Garza, both from Sullivan City; three brothers, Rafael Garza of Pharr, Pedro Garza of Mission and Benito Garza Jr. of Sullivan City.
Funeral Mass will be at 3 p.m. today, Monday, April 26, 1999, at St. Williams Catholic Church in Sullivan City. Burial will follow at Sullivan City Cemetery.

THOMAS KEENAN
WESLACO — Thomas Keenan, 91, passed away on Saturday, April 24, 1999, at Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco.
Survivors include his wife, Hertha Keenan of Weslaco.

WESLACO — Jo Glyn Trawick Harter, 87, passed away on Friday, April 23, 1999, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen.
Mrs. Harter was a longtime Weslaco resident and was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Harter Sr.

BENJAMIN GARCIA
Nov. 5, 1899

EDINBURG — Benjamin Garcia was born Nov. 5, 1899, to the now deceased Santos and Gregoria Saenz Garcia in Santa Gertrudes, Tamaulipas, Mexico.
He moved to La Gloria from Sal Colorada Ranch in Starr County to build his first grocery store in 1946 and a movie theater in 1948. He later came to Edinburg to become a cattle broker and a member of the Cattleman Association.
Mr. Garcia entered eternal rest at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 1999, at Briarcliff Rehabilitation Center in McAllen at the age of 99.
Mr. Garcia was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend, who will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cruz Diaz, in 1981; and a son, Heberto Garcia, in 1997.
He is survived by his loving family, Homero (Gloria) Garcia of Weslaco, Hector Garcia of Edinburg, Araceli (Agustin) Garcia of Edinburg; a daughter-in-law, Bertha D. Garcia of McAllen; his 11 loving grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. holy rosary today, Monday, April 26, 1999, at Gonzalez Funeral Home Chapel of Peace in Edinburg. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 27, 1999, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. The time is still pending. Interment service will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Sugar Road in Pharr.

EDINBURG — Roberto Lopez was born Nov. 2, 1934, in Jesus Maria Ranch to the late Rafael and Sara Lopez. He entered eternal rest Sunday, April 25, 1999, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center in Edinburg at the age of 64.
He was employed by the Texas Department of Transportation for 25 years, until his retirement in 1994. He was employed by the Edinburg school district as a bus monitor.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Juan, Alfonso, Gregorio, Baldo Lopez; and sisters, Liberada Garza and Sarita Lopez.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Juanita D. Lopez of Hargill; his loving family; sons Roberto Jr. (Marta) Lopez and Francisco (Leticia) Lopez, all of Hargill; daughters, Deyanira L. (Richard) Marmolejo of Harlingen, Dahlia (Daniel) Puente, Delma Lopez, all of Edinburg; five brothers, Pedro Lopez of Edcouch, Andres Lopez of Ranger, Texas, Ubence Lopez of Corpus Christi, Texas, Rafael Lopez Jr. of Big Spring, Texas, Alfonso Lopez Jr. of Aiea, Hawaii; eight sisters, Natividad Davila, Gregoria Castaneda, Josefa Ramirez and Olivia Lopez, all of Hargill, Texas, Filomena Marez of Monte Alto, Texas, Irene Vasquez of Plainview, Texas, Julia Espinoza of Gorman, Texas, Sara Davila of Big Spring, Texas, and Santos Soto of Lubbock; and his grandchildren, Richard Marmolejo, Jr., Michael Marmolejo, Anthony Davis, Franchesca Lopez, Jonathan Lopez, Aaron Punte and Taylor Puente.

DONNA V BOWLING
McALLEN — Mrs. Donna V Bowling died Friday, August 27, 1999 at McAllen Medical Center. She was born in Battle Creek, Mich., and had lived in McAllen for 20 years, previously living in Woodbridge, Va. She was a retired teacher and librarian.
She is survived by her husband, Ivan Bowling of McAllen; and one daughter, Deanna Bowling of Terlingua.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, at Full Gospel Tabernacle, 702 W. Sam Houston, Ave., Pharr, Texas.
Services were entrusted to the care of Kreidler Funeral Home.

MARY SUE POTUCEK
KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Mary Sue Potucek, born Jan. 14, 1942, in Kansas City, Missouri, died Wednesday evening, Aug. 25, in that city. She was a resident of McAllen, where she had resided since 1988.
She is survived by her mother, Eilene Hamilton of McAllen; her children, Jessica Royer of Kansas City and John A. Potucek III of Key Largo, Fla.; and her brother, Dr. Jess Hamilton of Kingwood. She was preceded in death by her father, Jess Hamilton.
Mary Sue worked at McAllen Medical Center as a unit secretary on the Intensive Care Unit. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church.
A memorial service is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. A memorial has been established with The Comfort House, 617 Dallas Ave., McAllen, Texas, and also with The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, P.O. Box 4809, Palos Verdes, California, 90274.

MRS. ANTONIA V. CERDA
MISSION — Mrs. Antonia V. Cerda entered into eternal rest to be with her heavenly father at the age of 83, on Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, in Mission.
Mrs. Cerda was a lifelong resident of Abram and is survived by her loving family: five sons, Mr. Tony Cerda of Mission, Mr. Humberto Cerda of Perezville, Mr. Oscar Cerda of Abram, Mr. Mario Cerda and Mr. Ricardo Cerda, both of Palmview; six daughters, Mrs. Anna Maria Martinez of Grand Prairie, Ms. Elia Cerda of Abram, Mrs. Alicia Ochoa of Pharr, Mrs. Graciela Cerda Ocuna of San Juan (granddaughter), Mrs. Ophelia Munguia and Mrs. Emma Cedillo, both of Mission; brothers, Mr. Gilberto Vasquez of Lubbock, Texas, Mr. Jose Ledesma of California, Felix Ledesma of Abram and Mr. Felipe Ledesma of Mission; and sisters, Mrs. Paula Guajardo of Abram and Mrs. Leonor Vasquez of Mission. She is also survived by 47 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pedro and Isidra Vasquez; her husband, Mr. Roman Cerda Sr.; sons, Ruben Cerda, Alejandro Cerda and Roman Cerda Jr.; and an infant daughter, Ofelia Cerda.
Visitation for family and friends was on Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, at Rivera Funeral Home in Mission. A holy rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home chapel. Funeral services for Mrs. Cerda will be today, Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, beginning with visitation at 10 a.m. at Rivera Funeral Home in Mission. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 4 p.m. to Maria Magdalena Catholic Church in Abram, for a 4:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial to be officiated by Deacon Lucio Flores. Interment will follow at Abram Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be her loving grandsons, Rolando Cerda of Perezville, Alejandro Cerda Jr. of Houston, Arnoldo Cerda of Houston, Tony Cerda Jr. of Mission, Rodney Garcia of McAllen and Johnny Soto of Sharyland.
Cerda was a loving mother; sister, grandmother and aunt, and she will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rivera Funeral Home in Mission.

MARY G. GEORGE
McALLEN — Mary G. George, 75, lost her battle with cancer Sunday, Aug. 29, 1999, in Mission.
Her husband, Chester George, precedes her in death. Mary and Chet had raised their family in Bellaire, Texas, and upon Chet’s retirement they moved to Palacios. After her husband’s death in 1988, Mary relocated to the Rio Grande Valley.
Her son, Gary George, and his wife, Cristina Beaumont, and her daughter, Carla Chaney, her husband, Ralph, and their daughter, Elissa, all of Houston, survive her.
Mary’s humor and fun-loving spirit will be dearly missed. She was a loving wife, mother, friend and companion.
Visitation was held on Monday, Aug. 30, 1999. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, in the chapel at Virgil Wilson Funeral Home in McAllen. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, at Southpark Cemetery in Houston.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Virgil Wilson Funeral Home of McAllen.

DAMIAN P. MEDRANO
WESLACO — Damian P. Medrano, 40, died suddenly at his residence on Friday, Aug. 27, 1999. He was a longtime resident of Weslaco. He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Medrano. He is survived by his mother, Elvia Medrano of Weslaco; three daughters, Monica Medrano of Austin, Deandra Medrano and Valeria Medrano, both of Weslaco; three brothers, Daniel Medrano Jr. of Weslaco, David Medrano of Edinburg and Agustin Pena of Chicago, Ill.; three sisters, Margarita Nino of Alamo, Irene Garcia of Rantoul, Ill., and Juana Haywood of Chicago, Ill.; also surviving is one grandson, Chancellor Raul Chacon.
Visitations were held yesterday, Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a rosary that was held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. today, Aug. 31, 1999, at San Martin De Porres Catholic Church. Celebrant wil be Deacon Ricardo Romero.
Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Rafael Pena, Nasario Pena, Agustin Pena, Nasario Pena, Nazario Pena III and Samuel Zuniga. Arrangements are under the direction of Guerra Funeral Home of Weslaco.

MELVIN REED
MISSION — Melvin Reed, 76, died Monday, Aug. 30, 1999, at his residence in Mission.
Melvin Reed was born June 4, 1923, in Bell County. He married Ruth Bottoms in 1966 and moved to the Rio Grande Valley in 1975. He farmed aloe vera and retired after 12 years.
Mr. Reed was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby Stagner of Lubbock, in May of this year.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Reed; three daughters, Rhonda Ramos of Mission, Nova Reed of Arlington, Donna Johnson of Abilene; three sons, Joe Steagall of Austin, Ronnie Bottoms of Amarillo, R.W. Bottoms of Celina; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joyce Tyler of Hobbs, N.M.
Visitation will be held from 1-9 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 31, 1999, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, at Trinity Worship Center in Pharr. Officiating will be the Rev. Robert L. Kane Sr. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Military services will be conduted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.

SOFIA HANDY

McALLEN — Sofia Handy, 74, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999, at McAllen Medical Center. Mrs. Handy was born in McAllen and was a housewife.

Mrs. Handy is survived by her loving daughter, Yolanda Hinojosa Salinas; seven grandchildren, Teresa Maldonado, Linda Almaraz, Raul Salinas, Manuel Salinas, Adriana Salinas, and Amanda Salinas, all of McAllen, and Amador Salinas Jr. of Beaumont; five great-grandchildren, Audra Maldonado, Korina Gonzalez, Angel Almarez II, Andrea Salinas and Abigail Salinas, all of McAllen; one brother, Vicente (Petra) Ramirez of California; and one sister, Concepcion (Moises) Garcia.

Viewing and visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, at Ceballos Funeral Home Chapel No. 1 with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. A Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 1999, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in McAllen. Burial will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens.

Funeral services were entrusted to the care of Ceballos Funeral Home in McAllen.

MACARIO GUZMAN

EDINBURG — Macario Guzman, 86, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999. He was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Manuela S. Guzman.

He is survived by two sons, Marcos (Mary Lou) Guzman of Rowlett, Texas and their children, Diana, Tanya, Sonya, Esmer and Mark; and Macario (Yvonne) Guzman Jr. of San Antonio and his children, Anna Maria, Victor, Joseph, Julio Emmanuel and Macario Corniche Guzman III; four daughters, Marla Elena (Eugene) Horton of Edinburg, Paula S. Guzman of Edinburg and her daughter, Candida Guzman; Genoveva (Bob) Fonseca of Dallas and their children, Cindy, Priscilla, Dina and Bobby; and Olga (Carlos) Zepeda of McAllen and their children, Carlos Gabriel, Isaac and Abraham; two sisters, Lupe Ramos and Dominga Ornelas of Texas City, Texas; a brother, Pedro Guzman of Edinburg; and 16 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Macario Guzman Jr., Bob Fonseca, Bobby Fonseca, Carlos Gabriel Zepeda, Mark Guzman and Victor Joseph Guzman.

A rosary was said Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999, at De Leon Funeral Home in Pharr. Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, at Val Verde Cemetery in Donna, under the direction of De Leon Funeral Home in Pharr.

ELISEO MARTINEZ

WESLACO — Eliseo Martinez, 90, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at his home. He was born Nov. 7, 1908, in Victoria, Texas to Marcelo and Gregoria Martinez.

He was a longtime resident of Weslaco.

He was preceded in death by a son, Felipe Martinez.

He is survived by his wife, Ebelia S. Martinez; four sons, Eulalio Martinez, Guadalupe Martinez and Jesus Martinez, all of Weslaco, and Jorge Martinez of Toledo, Ohio; five daughters, Conseulo Solis, Alicia Anciso, Sylvia Cuellar and Delma Anciso, all of Weslaco, and Paula Toscano of Progreso; one brother, Trino Martinez of Robstown; 35 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, with a 6 p.m. prayer service at Guerra Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at noon Friday, Aug. 6, 1999, at Templo Eben-Ezer Asamblea De Dios. Officiating will be the Rev. Rosalio Martinez. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Julio Martinez, Eulalio Martinez Jr., Martin Martinez, Israel Anciso Jr., Eliseo Toscano and Ruben Toscano.

Arrangements are under the direction of Guerra Funeral Home in Weslaco.

GAUDALUPE DELGADO

Edinburg — Guadalupe Delgado entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 1999, at McAllen Medical Center. He was 81 years old.

Mr. Delgado is survived by his wife, Marta Delgado of Edinburg; his children, Guadalupe, Armando, Eleazar, Ruben and Juan Delgado, and Carmen Gomez, Adela Mora and Enedina Delgado, all of Edinburg; two brothers, Modesto Delgado of Mexico and Juan Delgado of Edinburg; and 19 grandchildren.

A holy rosary was said at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1999, at Gonzalez Funeral Home Chapel of Peace. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.

Funeral services are under the direction of Gonzalez Funeral Home in Edinburg.
