September 20, 1948 - July 13, 2009

Harold B. Vailes went to be with the Lord, Monday, July 13, 2009 in Houston, Texas. He was born in Livingston, Texas, September 20, 1948. Mr. Vailes was in law enforcement in Harris, Montgomery and Polk County. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and riding motorcycles and working on old vehicles. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cleveland, Texas. He is survived by his wife Rosie Forse Vailes, to whom he was married for thirty-nine and a half years, daughter, Sheri Vailes Wagner and husband Steven, son, Kevin Vailes and wife Dana, brothers; Gene Vailes Jr. and Donald Wayne Vailes, grandchildren; Lane, Kevin II, Brandy, Madison, Jacob, Connor and Mackenzy.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Raymond Eugene and Ola Mae Walters Vailes. Pallbearers will be Ronny Armitage, Kenny Fisher, David Melton, Scott Moore, David Walters and Shawn Nichols. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 16, 2009 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Pace Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, July 17, 2009 at Pace Funeral Home with Pastor Russell Tynan Officiating. Internment to follow at Peebles cemetery .

Lowell Jay Coffman
September 28, 1924 - July 13, 2009

Funeral services for Lowell Jay Coffman, age 84 of Livingston will be held Thursday July 16, 2009 at 10:00am in the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston with Bro. Gary Ladner officiating, and interment to follow in the Peebles cemetery . Pallbearers will be Larry Glasgow, Kevin Turnbough, James Padgett, James Bryce, Charlie Purl and Michael Coffman. He was born September 28, 1924 in New Hope, Arkansas the son of Jay Ansley & Ira Elizabeth Bissell Coffman and went to be with the Lord and Saviour July 13, 2009 surround by his loving family.

Lowell came to Texas from New Hope, Arkansas in January 1953 and became a self employed water well driller in the Bacliff-San Leon area. He then became a plumber at Dickinson Independent School District while also continuing his love and passion as a cattle rancher. He retired to Livingston in 1986. He was a loving husband, “Daddy”, and “Papa” to his family. He was quick to tell a joke or one of his “Arkansas” stories that made everyone laugh. He loved the outdoors. His passion for hunting, fishing, and raising chickens was passed on to his children, grandchildren, & great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Opal Scarbrough and Otha Coffman, 2 infant brothers and 1 infant sister. He is survived by his wife, Mae Dean Coffman wife of 57 years, of Livingston, Christine Brasher (Gary), daughter, of Livingston, Ronnie Jay & Cherie Coffman, son & daughter in law of Bacliff, Texas, Ronald Lynn Coffman, son of Livingston, Artie Lacefield, sister of New Hope, Arkansas, Michael Jay Coffman, grandson of Bacliff, Texas, Jaime Coffman Padgett, granddaughter of Coldsprings, Texas, Ronald Lynn Coffman, Jr., grandson, of Livingston, Clayton Travis Coffman, grandson, Denton, Texas, Kevin Donald Turnbough, grandson, of Livingston, Keri Elizabeth Salinas, granddaughter, of Pearland, & 12, great grandchildren also survive.

Vetal F. “Bill” Quackenbush, age 75, passed away Friday, July 09, 2009 at the Memorial Medical Center, in Lufkin, Texas. He was born August 4, 1933 in Davenport, New York, to Vetal and Bertha Hitt Quackenbush. Mr. Quackenbush was an avid bowler, loved to cook, garden and fish. He is survived by the love of his life, Ella, mother of his son, William Quackenbush and wife Tony, three grandchildren, Suni Quackenbush, William Quackenbush, Jr. and Brandon Quackenbush. Sisters; Veta B. Roberts of Utica, New York, Juanita McCullin of Wood Stock, New York, Elizabeth Atkins of Albany, New York, Donna Quackenbush of Oneonta, New York and Franie Fronckowiak, and husband John of Fleishman, New York. brother; Kenny Quackenbush, and wife Claire, of Charlotte, North Carolina Preceding him in death are his parents, Vetal Quackenbush and Bertha Truax, brothers, Clifford Lockwood and Harold Curran, sister, Helena Rion, niece, Betty Lou Rion.

Services will be held Saturday, July 18 2009 at Calvary Baptist Church in Coldsprings, Texas, at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Terry Holcomb officiating. Fellowship & covered dish dinner to follow. Gloria Byrl Murphy, age 8l, went to be with the Lord, July 12, 2009 in Lufkin, Texas. She was born in Honey Island, October 27, 1927 to Jess and Elizabeth Sutton Liles.

She is survived by her sons; Michael Wayne Murphy and wife Gail, Jerry Mitchell Murphy and wife Verdina and James Patrick Murphy and wife Dianne, all of Segno, Texas. Sisters; Nida bush and husband James of Sheldon, Texas, Glenda Liles, Elizabeth Thompson and Emma Liles, all of Humble, Texas, Grandchildren; Elizabeth Powell and husband Michael, Darin Murphy and wife Amber, Christopher Murphy and wife Jessica, Christina Wood and husband Joel, Courtney Murphy, Casey Murphy, Alisha King and husband Scott, Laura Gonzalz and husband Adam and Lance Needham. Great grandchildren; Layla Powell, Kendall Powell, Madison Wilson, Kaitlyn Wilson, Seslee Wood, Roper Wood, Justice King, Neil King, Jared Overland, Kacie Overland, Levi King and Drelan Edwards. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Wayne Murphy, Parents Jess and Elizabeth Liles, brothers, Alton and Elvin Liles and sister, Glynn Dean Tarver. Pallbearers will be: Michael Powell, Darin Murphy, Byron Wiggins, Hub Sutton, Ricky Gore and Robert Wiggins. Honorary pallbearers will be: Casey Murphy, Christopher Murphy, Joel Wood, Carl Overstreet, Sam Overstreet, Buddy Wiggins and Marshall Wiggins.

Funeral services were held at Pace Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at 10:00 AM, with Pastor Mitchell Murphy officiating, burial followed at Magnolia Hills cemetery in Segno, Texas. Visitation was held Tuesday, July 14, 2009 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

Funeral Services for Clara Austin, 85, of Corrigan, Texas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2009 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel in Corrigan, Texas with Rev. Walter Junious officiating. Interment to follow in the Pluck Memorial cemetery in Polk County, Texas.

Mrs. Clara Austin, daughter of Bessie Mae & John Cruz, was born February 29, 1924 in Corrigan, Texas where she accepted Christ at an early age. She attended public school in Corrigan as well. Later she united in holy matrimony in 1952 to James “Snook” Austin. She was employed by Citizens State Bank as a maid.

She is survived by her beloved daughter: Prentice Robinson of Houston, Texas; four grandchildren: Michael Robinson, Semone Doughton, Timothy Robinson and William Robinson and 11 great grandchildren.”

Allie Frances Mosher, 91, was born in New Willard, Texas, July 29, 1917 and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 20, 2009. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jasper and Helen Meece Courtney; She is survived by her daughters; Connie May Mosher, Leslie Dawn Gupton, Helen Gail Gabel and husband Jack, brother, Dawson Emmit Courtney and wife Ruth, sister, Ruby Mae Eckels, grandchildren; Clifford and Benjamin Gupton, and Venessa Wier and great grandchildren, Gage Ortego and Wyatt Wier-Gonzales. Funeral services were Wednesday, June 24, 2009, 2:00 pm at Pace Funeral Home with Pastor Royce Pennington officiating. Interment followed at Forest Hill cemetery in Livingston, Texas.

Wendell Riley
August 17, 1927 - June 19, 2009

Wendell Riley born August 17, 1927 in Tulsa, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2009 at the age of 81. Mr. Riley was past president of the Texas State Hospital Purchasing Association. He was also an avid golfer.

His loving family includes his wife of 61years, Betty, son Roger Earl Riley and wife Mary, daughter, Lucy Cansler, brother, Ross Riley and wife Mary, sister, Betty Jo Western and husband George. Four grandchildren, Jennifer Cansler, Kelly Riley, Karen Riley, and Rebecca Cansler and three great-grandchildren, Lucy Lin Cansler, Julie Hemphill, and Destiny Hemphill.

A celebration of Wendell’s life was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at Pace Funeral Home.

Nora Lee Myers
December 29, 1926 - June 21, 2009

Nora Lea Myers, age 82, born December 29, 1926, in Port Neches, Texas and passed away June 21, 2009 at Livingston Memorial Hospital. She is preceded in death by her husband John Myers, parents Henry and Ada Sterling Campbell and daughter Linda Kay. Her survivors include her two sons; John M. Myers, Jr., wife Jeanette and James R. Myers, Sr. and wife Irene, six grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.

Chapel services will be Tuesday, June 23, 2009, 10:00 AM at Pace Funeral Home with Pastor Don Wilkey officiating. Internment will follow at Phelps cemetery . Visitation was Monday, June 22, 2009 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Pace Funeral Home. Pall bearers will be Ray Myers, Dan Myers, Johnny Myers, Zac Myers, Tyler Myers and Justin Lopez. Patricia DeLeon Wheeler
April 20, 1935 - June 20, 2009

Patricia DeLeon Wheeler April 20, 1935 to June 20, 2009 Patricia DeLeon Wheeler was born on the DeLeon ranch in Victoria, Texas to Sylvester Felix DeLeon and Aurelia Chapa DeLeon. Heir of the famous aristocratic Spanish settler Empresario Don Martin DeLeon that was granted the DeLeon Colony by the king of Spain in the early 1800’s. The DeLeon family founded Victoria, Texas and introduced to Texas many of the ranching, farming, and banking techniques still in use today, as well as, the first Spanish Catholic missions in south Texas. preceded in death by her parents and sister Gloria, Patricia leaves behind her husband of 38 years, Darryl Wheeler of Livingston, Texas, three children and their families James and Robin Carpenter, Gay and Larry Ruggiano, and Mark Carpenter all residing in Austin and grandchildren James, Elizabeth, Stephen, Allison and Ashley Carpenter; Justin, Nicole, and Brian Ruggiano, and Natalie Carpenter, as well as, her “bonus” children by marriage William Wheeler, Thomas Wheeler, Suzanne Gevelinger, Joanne May, and Kevin Wheeler and their families most of which reside in Wisconsin. In all, she enjoyed 22 grandchildren and 1 great grandson and considered them each a blessing. Patricia was a fun loving devoted mother and wife who never met a stranger and always had a smile and room at her table for anyone who just “happened” to be there at supper time. She worked as a ticket agent for Texas International then Continental Airlines for 20 years where she built many dear friendships. She never had an unkind word to say of anyone and devoted much time to the kitchen brigade at the St. Ann Catholic Church in Coppell, Texas and Catholic Charities Thrift Shop, helping others in need. She showed us all how to love unconditionally and we take comfort in knowing that she is rejoicing with her Savior, Jesus Christ and all the saints in heaven. Rest in peace with our love forever in your heart. Visitation to be Tuesday June 23rd from 6 - 9 PM at Pace Funeral Home, 411 East Abbey Street, Livingston, TX and Mass held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 2590 Hwy 190 West, Livingston, TX on Wednesday June 24th 11 a.m. with a celebration of life to follow at Magnolia Lake RV Park Clubhouse, 791 FM 2665, Goodrich, TX. Lee, son Melvin Earl Lee Sr., daughter Brenda Kay Sanford, parents and numerous siblings. She is survived by daughter Gloria Sanford of Houston, TX., son Douglas Lee and wife Vanessa of Shepherd, TX., son Harold Lee and wife Derenda of Casa Grande, AZ. Seven grandchildren; Billie Dale and husband David of Moscow, TX., Kevin Sanford of Pasadena, CA., Melvin Lee Jr and wife Mary Ann of White Springs, FL., Joshua Lee of Livingston, TX., John Lee of Shepherd, TX., Tonya Lee of Shepherd, TX., and Jessica Lee of Shepherd, TX. Eight great grandchildren; Christopher Cherry, Teresa Cherry, A.J. Hays, Allison Lee, Brandon Lee, Madison Lee, Justin Lee and Nathanial Lee. George was employed for the City of Livingston for 6 years having work in the water department. His loving family includes sons, George Jr., Jesse Pichardo; daughters, Leslie Morgan and Rebecca Pichardo; parents, Carlos Orosco & Aurora Pichardo; grandchildren, Nikolas and Tyler Morgan. Numerous brothers & sisters living in Mexico. Honorary Pallbearers will be George Jr. & Jesse Pichardo, Carlos Orosco and Bill Hacker. He is preceded in death by his wife Virginia Pichardo.

Andrew George Andries, 66, was born in Elmer, Louisiana, February 22, 1943 andwent to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 9, 2009.

Mr. Andries was a Maritime Longshoreman for many years. He enjoyed country music and dancing.

He is survived by his wife, Lottie Faye Andries, son; Allen Andries wife Donna, daughter Debbie Andries, Stepsons; Benny Gambini, wife Glenda; Joe Gambini, wife Kim, brothers; Billy Andries, wife Ima; Joe Andrie, Wife Sue; grandchildren; Drew Andries, Spencer Andries, step grandchildren; Chris Gambini, Brittany Gambini, and Kayle.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Joseph and Ruth Alberta Melder Andries, and his sister, Dorothy Mathews.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Pace Funeral Home, Wednesday, June10, 2009. Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM. Burial will be at Elmer cemetery in Louisiana.

Edwin Earl Stuart
May 14, 1929 - June 1, 2009

Edwin Earl Stuart, born May 14, 1929 in Sharon, Pennsylvania and went to be with the Lord, June 1, 2009 in Livingston, Texas at the age of 80 years.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Earl Wilmer Stuart and Georgia Mae Eckelburger Stuart.

Mr. Stuart was in the Army Corp. and was a firefighter. He leaves behind a special friend Deborah Hales and husband Wesley of Shepherd, Texas. He was a dear friend to many and will be missed by those who loved him.

A Celebration of Edwin’s Life will begin at Two O’clock in the Afternoon at Pace Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Internment will follow at Forest Hill cemetery .
