Linda Carol Fisher, born July 7, 1942 in Houston, TX went to be with her Lord May 15, 2011 in Conroe, TX at the age of 68 years. Linda was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star. Her loving family includes daughter, Chris Rodriguez & husband Gilbert Escalon; daughter-in-law, Nancy Annette Fisher; grandchildren, Wayne Allen Fisher, Stephanie Lee Fisher, Carol Lucille Fisher, Priscilla Lynne Rodriguez, Christopher Adam Rodriguez; great-grandchildren, Shawn Michael Allen Fisher and Spencer Ryan Fisher. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Arlie Ray & Ruby Lucille Gardner Rogers; son, Rodney Wayne Fisher; brother Arlie Ray Rogers Jr.; sister, Billie Yvonne Maxey. Visitation was held Tuesday, May 17, 2001 at Pace Funeral Home from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. Services were Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at Pace Funeral home at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Jay Hill officiating. Burial will follow at 4:00 PM at the East Sandy Cemetery in New Waverly, Tx.
Maryanne Agnes Kyne
Maryanne Agnes Kyne, 76, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, May 14, 2011 at The Bradford at Brookside Nursing Home in Livingston, Texas. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, April 16, 1935 to Thomas and Veronica Clark Kyne. Maryanne was a resident of Livingston for the past four years and spent the last two at The Bradford at Brookside. She is survived by her two sisters, Patricia R. Hill and spouse Harry and Veronica Kyne; nieces and nephews, Harry, Alana, Leah, Deanna and Thomas; great nieces and nephews, Jordan, Ryan, Kylie, Kendall, Ben, Will, Andrew, Chloe and Ethan. Preceding her in death are her parents Thomas and Veronica Kyne.
A Celebration of Life was held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Tuesday, May 17th, 2011 at 10:00am.

She was born January 8, 1922 in Mobile, Alabama the daughter of Aaron Davis and Corine Bentley Davis and passed away July 30, 2011 in Lufkin, Texas. Alice is preceded in death by parents, Aaron Davis and Corine Bentley Davis, husband, William Henry Marion, son, Charles Marion, and brothers, Henry Davis and Cyrus Davis.
Alice is survived by Alice and Jimmy Dacus, daughter and son-in-law, of La Porte, Texas, Robert and Carla Marion, son and daughter-in-law, of Goodrich, Texas, 4 grandchildren, Monica Dacus Ball, Angie Dacus Ellis, Rachel Marion Meza, Clinton Everett Marion, 4 great grandchildren, Ashlin Marie Ellis, Cordell Dacus Ball, Kierstin Meza, and Kaitlyn Meza. Following a visitation on July 29, 2011, from 5:00-7:00pm, funeral services for Barbara Elizabeth Kerr, age 67, of Clute, Texas will be held Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 10:00 AM at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas, with Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Interment will follow thereafter in Peebles Cemetery. Barbara was born July 21, 1944 in Livingston, Texas the daughter of James H. Ainsworth and Mary Delie Thomas Ainsworth and, surrounded by her family, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2011 at Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and pursuing her favorite hobbies, which included photography, gardening, and taking care of her pets. Her laughter and beautiful smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, James H. Ainsworth and Mary Delie Thomas Ainsworth, her brothers, James Marion Ainsworth and Robert Daniel Ainsworth, and her sisters, Margie Pearline Bowen and Rosie Marie Dillard. She was born on September 20, 1943 in Coffeeville, Kansas to Charles Edward Lingle and Cora Jean Hepner Lingle and passed away on July 24, 2011 in Coldspring, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward Lingle and Cora Jean Hepner Lingle.
Susan worked for many years for the Palais Royal Department Store franchise. She also did an abundance of volunteer work in her community in Coldspring where she offered many hours to the public library and to the Senior Center where they could increase the productivity to the meals on wheels program.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie Rodgers, daughter, Kelli Smith-Hendrix and husband John, son, Trevor Smith and wife Trina, brother, Chuck Lingle, sister-in-laws, Karen Glover and Lynett Rodgers, step-daughter, Shelley Phillips and husband Steven, mother-in-law, Kelli Allison, brother-in-law, Billy Rodgers, grandsons, Tory Nunn and Lex Hendrix, granddaughters, Sydnee Bruenn and Gabrielle Bruenn, grandsons, Amber Smith, Brent Smith, and Cameron Smith, step-grandchildren, Jack and Jace Phillips. Margie Eloise Hollis
Margie Eloise Hollis, born April 2, 1947 in Livingston, Texas to Otha and Louise Hood Hollis. She went to be with her Lord Sunday, July 24, 2011 at the Kingwood Medical Center in Kingwood, Texas. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Shepherd, Texas. She was a nurse in the health field and resided in Shepherd all of her life. She is survived by Her son, Brandon Hollis & wife Julie; sisters, Delores Pollard & husband Harry, Pam Ellis & husband Kenneth; nephews, Hollis Pollard and Kenton Ellis; nieces, Amy Laningham, Suzy Wilson, Christine Arie and Kasey Brian; five great nieces; three great nephews, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Preceding her in death are her parents Otha and Louise Hollis. Visitation was held Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Pace Funeral Home. Services were held Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 10:00 am, at First Baptist Church in Shepherd, Texas, with Pastor Preston Baker officiating. Interment to follow at Farley Cemetery. Pallbearers were Richard Hood, Winfred Kyle, Harvey Hester, Kenton Ellis, Hollis Pollard and Mike Boyle.

Frank Hood
Frank Hood was born September 15, 1931 the son of Arch Hood and Winnie Wright Hood and passed away July 23, 2011 at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Livingston High School, class of 1948. He then went on to graduate from Texas A&M, class of 1952, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. September 1, 1956 he marriage Gracie Louise Moore of Leggett, Texas, daughter of the late Rev. and Mrs. C.L. Moore. After graduating from college and serving two years in the Armed Services, he was employed as a forester with Southland Paper Mills of Lufkin, Texas. While working as a forester, he attended Stephen F. Austin University and graduated with a Bachelor of Forestry degree, class of 1958.
After surrendering to the ministry, he attended Houston Baptist University for some extension courses taught by the Southwestern Theological Seminary and began preaching in 1961 at age 30 when he became the pastor of the Oakdale Baptist Church. He was ordained in 1962 by the Magnolia Grove Baptist Church in Shepherd, Texas. He pastored Oakdale Baptist Church for five years and then served as a local missionary of the Polk County Baptist Missionary Association. During his tenure as local missionary he began and organized Chesswood Baptist Church where he pastored for 29 years. The charter members originally met in homes until they were able to lease a small hamburger restaurant near Goodrich, Texas. Sunday school classes met anywhere from the walk-in freezer to the outdoor awning of the small restaurant. As the church grew they built the original sanctuary which is now used for Sunday School and educational space. Under his direction, they went on to erect the worship complex that is seen today. In 1995, he resigned as pastor of Chesswood Baptist Church. He then served as pastor of Soda Baptist Church from November of 1995 through December of 2010.
The Polk County area recognized his unsurpassed dedication to his community. He was awarded the 1992 First State Bank Hometown Spirit Award, the 1993 Polk County Chamber of Commerce Senior Citizen Service Award, and the 1999 Polk Countian of the Year to name a few. His dedication to excellence was also evidenced in his educational community. He was honored in a special ceremony on March 9, 2007 by the Association of Former Students of Texas A&M University where he was awarded the Golden Circle Certificate of the Sul Ross Group. This certificate permanently enrolled him in the records of The Association of Former Students for maintaining a devoted interest in Texas A&M for more than fifty-five years since student days on campus. He was dedicated to helping the elderly, the down-trodden and the sick. He regularly visited the local nursing homes often holding worship services. He also could be seen regularly in the Livingston area hospital where he served as a Chaplain for numerous years.
Frank was survived by Gracie Hood, Wife of 54 years of Livingston, Texas, Melody & Frank Aragon, Daughter and Son In-Law of Saratoga, Texas, Cindy & Charlie Hester, Daughter and Son In-Law of LaPorte, Texas, Mary & Paul Booth, Daughter and Son In-Law of Clifton, Texas, Andy & Tiphany Hood, Son and Daughter In-Law of Waxahachie, Texas and Judy & Harold Isaacs, Sister In-Law and Brother In-Law of Leggett, Texas. He is also survived by 14 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents.
His life can be summed up by a quote he gave When being interviewed by the Baptist Progress publication, on October 9, 2002. "It always amazes me when I survey my life and see the grace of God that has been upon me. Let whatever has been accomplished for the Kingdom of God be to His glory."
Evelyn Pyle

Mrs. Pyle was born December 3, 1925 in Corrigan, Texas and passed away Sunday, July 24, 2011 in Lufkin, Texas. She was a member of the Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church and was a homemaker most of her life. She proudly served her country in the United States Army. She is preceded in death by her husband: George Hamilton Pyle; parents: Archie Loving and Addie (Sage) Loving; brother: Billy Archie Loving; sisters: Hester Beaty, Edith Purvis, Mary Lee Tullos, Marguerite Rittman and Bertha Loving.
She is survived by her son: George Terry Pyle of Woodville, Texas; daughters: Jo Ann Neal of Corrigan, Texas, Sandra Billadeau of Princeton, Texas; 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.

Greg is survived by Peggy Smith, beloved wife, of Livingston, Texas, Melissa Fuller, daughter, of Livingston, Texas, Deryni Fuller, granddaughter, of Meridian, Kansas, Jaelyn Stich, great granddaughter, of Meridian, Kansas, Diane Ames, sister, of Kenai, Alaska. Dorothy Thelma Parker Callahan
On July 15, 2011, Dorothy Thelma Parker Callahan, 93, departed this life in Bryan, Texas and went home to be with her Lord and Maker in Heaven. Dorothy was born on May 11, 1918 in Trinity, Texas to Ethel Skains Parker and Dan Parker. Her parents instilled in her a strong sense of faith, morality, love and compassion. Dorothy graduated from Trinity High School in Trinity, Texas in 1936. She earned a BS in Education from Sam Houston State Teacher's College in 1940. Dorothy taught public school in Trinity, Texas for one year prior to her marriage on July 12, 1941 to her college sweetheart, Roy Callahan. During World War II she and Roy lived in Fresno, California and Seguin, Texas as Roy served his country in the United States Army Air Corps.
In 1946, Roy and Dorothy moved to Livingston, Texas where Dorothy was a homemaker for many years and later a teacher for the Livingston Public Schools. She enriched the lives of the children of Livingston for 25 years. Dorothy was an active member of the PTA and the LHS Band Boosters.
Dorothy devoted her life to God, her husband, and her family. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church of Livingston for 60+ years. When her children were young, she taught Vacation Bible School each year. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Union and the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She loved her church and her Church family.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Roy Callahan; and a sister, Mary Frances Boutte, of Port Arthur, Texas.
Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is survived by daughters Carolyn Dudley and fiancé Dave Lyons of Bryan, Texas, and Elizabeth Smith and husband Dr. Herman Smith of Mabank, Texas. She was "Meme" to two grandchildren: Alison Dudley Clingan and husband Craig of San Antonio, Texas, and Cadet 1st Class, Ryan Patrick Callahan Smith, United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Great Grandson Owen Asher Clingan of San Antonio.
Dorothy and her family would like to thank her friend and angel Dee Blackman and her Staff at The Establishment in Bryan, Texas for her love and compassionate care along with Traditions Hospice, College Station, Texas; both of whom helped our loved one pass from this world with respect and dignity to be received by all her family, friends, and teachers that were sent on before her.
Visitation will be held on July 17, 2011 at the Cochran Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00pm. Graveside service will be held on July 18, 2011 at 10:00am at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Richard Edward Duff passed away Monday evening, July 18, 2011 in Huntsville, Texas at the age of 51. Mayme Rowntree was born July 26, 1925 in Childress, Texas the daughter of Finis Blair and Bertie Anna Bean Blair and passed away July 18, 2011 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by parents, Finis Blair and Bertie Anna Bean Blair, husband, James Dudley Rowntree.
Mayme is survived by Richard and Kaye Rowntree, son and daughter-in-law, Ed and Marsha Rowntree, son and daughter-in-law, Randi and Mike Gigliotti, daughter and son-in-law, Kay Hood, daughter, 8 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
