Rosie B. Johnson, age 77, of Onalaska, Texas died August 28, 2011 in La Porte, Texas. At her request, a private graveside service will be held in Onalaska, Texas in Magnolia Cemetery with Pastor Reagan Duncan officiating. Pallbearers are Ed Bollier, Clint Holloman, Steve Moore, Walter Whitfield, William Bennett, Charles Bennett, David Bennett, and Louis Bennett.
She was born on December 10, 1933 in Austin, Texas, the daughter of Joshua Gerome Lloyd and Mary Ellen Brown Lloyd. She was preceded in death by parents, Joshua Gerome Lloyd and Mary Ellen Brown Lloyd, husband, Phillip Johnson, brother, Jack Lloyd and sisters, Mary Eaton, Bertha Cruse, and Ann Brown.
Rosie is survived by sons, David Bennett of Houston, Texas, Charles Bennett of LaPorte, Texas, and Louis Bennett, grandsons, William Bennett and Evan Bennett, granddaughter, Karyssa Bennett, great grandsons, Braden, Tyler and Nathan Bennett and many special friends.

Charlie Hodge and Bro. Lesly Wilkinson officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2011 before the service from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Unions Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Corrigan, Texas.
Mr. Woodard was born December 15, 1926 in Corrigan, Texas and passed away August 27, 2011 in Lufkin, Texas. Mr. Woodard had been employed for the Southern Pacific Railroad and was a member of the Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church and Carmona Baptist Church in Corrigan, Texas. He proudly served his country during World War II and the Korean War. He is preceded in death by his parents: Martha (Lebeck) and Edward Woodard; sister Claire Kimmey; brothers: Harold Woodard and Hammond Woodard.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Ottince Tarver Woodard of Corrigan, Texas; daughter and son-in-law: Debbie and Charlie Hodge of Corrigan, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law: Raymond and Penne Woodard of Beaumont, Texas, Michael and Misty Woodard of Corrigan, Texas; 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends.

He was born August 29, 1956 in Galveston County, Texas the son of Nolen D. Timmons and Bernice Ingram Timmons and passed away on August 25, 2011 in Temple, Texas. He is preceded in death by father, Nolen D. Timmons, and sister, Penny Formica.

Ms. Cowart was born April 18, 1937 in Colmesneil, Texas and passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in the Hospice in the Pines Unit at Memorial Medical Center Lufkin, Texas after a courageous battle with cancer. She had been employed as a scale operator for Temple Inland and retired after 25 years of service and was a Baptist by faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend and will be missed by all those she loved. She is preceded in death by her parents Blanche (Harlan) and Homer William Gregory; father of children: Raymon Odell Cowart; brother: Jack Gregory; and sister: Jean Sachitano.

David was born August 28, 1963 in Houston, Texas and passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011, in the Barnum Community in Corrigan, Texas. He was employed by Red’s Hardware and was a member of the Pine Grove Church of Christ. He was a loving, caring friend and lovingly known to his grandchildren as PawPaw. He is preceded in death by his parents: Dolores Marie (Cox) and Sidney Earl Cupples and nephew, Kenny Kurtz.

He was a graduate of Harold High School in Harold, Texas and later joined the United States Air Force. He later worked for the United States Postal Service and was employed with them for twenty years until retirement. Following retirement he went to work for Livingston ISD as a bus driver for another 10 years until retiring recently. He was a member of the Optimist Club, where he served as a past president.

Carolyn Little Lawson
Carolyn Little Lawson, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister joined her Lord in eternity this past Friday, August 19, 2011, after a battle with cancer. She was 62 years old.
Carolyn was born at her parents' home on February 24, 1949 near Palestine, Texas. She grew up in Alvin, Texas where she lived until she moved to Onalaska, Texas in 1996.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Cloyde; her daughters, Angie Lawson Poole of Alvin and Amy Lawson of Danbury; son-in-law Stan Poole of Alvin; brothers, Lester Little of Alvin and Larry Little of Midway; sisters, Betty Sue Vick of League City, Patsy Sicinski of Goodrich, and Erna Louise Wynn of La Marque, four beloved granddaughters Jacey, Cassidy, Trinity, and Zoe; one beloved great granddaughter, Aubrey Grace; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Randell Little and her mother, Erna Rhodes Little.
Carolyn's banking career spanned over thirty years, beginning at First National Bank of Alvin and ending with her retirement in December 2010 from First State Bank of Livingston. She enjoyed crocheting, bowling, good movies, and spending time with friends and family.
Services were held Tuesday, August 23, 2011, 11:00 AM at Pace Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Ellis officiating. Interment followed in Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas. Pallbearers were Sonny Batson, Clovis Lawson, Stanley Poole, Jeff Jones, Eddie Lewis and Robert Smith.

He was born September 9, 1965 in Liberty, Texas the son of Albert Rice and Lela Mae Clayton Rice and passed away on August 15, 2011 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by parents, Albert Rice and Lela Mae Clayton Rice.
Roger is survived by Vickey Rice, wife, Mikey Smith, nephew, Tammy Smith, niece, Kimberley Killebrew, step-daughter, Jacob Killebrew, grandson. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
Roger was a good man with a loving heart who wanted nothing more in this world than to cherish his wife and enjoy the open road. Roger was a man who was always tinkering around with his bike or finding a box of parts to make something from nothing. Roger loved to spend time with his grandson Jacob. He had an immense love for his wife Vickey, he took great pride in the love that they shared and the time they spent together.

She was born August 14, 1937 in Honey Island, Texas the daughter of Ernest O’Dell Harrod and Lucille Moore Harrod and passed away on August 20, 2011 in Houston, Texas.
Nina is survived by David and Melinda Burns, Son and Daughter In-Law of Livingston, Steven and Tina Burns, Son and Daughter In-Law of Magnolia, Tx, Terry and Terry Sue Burns, Son and Daughter In-Law of Livingston. Grandchildren: Diesel Burns, Peyton Burns, Gillian Carr, Cody Burns, Callie Campbell, Amber Peavy, Koby Herrington, Shona Herrington, Gwen Walraven, Erin Barnes, Capt. Eric Walraven. Ricky Lamar Kimble
Ricky Gave His Life to Law Enforcement
Ricky Lamar Kimble passed away in his sleep Wednesday at his home in Trinity, Texas. He was currently a Deputy with Trinity County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office. Ricky loved law enforcement and dedicated his life to law enforcement. He graduated from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department Academy in 1972 and gave 37 years and 7 months of service in law enforcement.
He remained a deputy there for almost 10 years before moving on to Harris County Precinct 4 Constables Office where he was assigned to Kingwood.
After that he joined forces with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office where he worked in East Montgomery County patrol and then transferred to work the jail.
He continued on with several other departments including acting chief of Roman Forest Police Department. He worked patrol at Wood Branch Police Department, Oak Ridge Police Department, and Paton Village Police Department.
Rick became a Master Mason at the Sam B. Crawford Lodge in New Caney, Texas.
Viewing will be at the Waller-Thornton Funeral Home at 203 San Jacinto St. from 6-8pm. Saturday August 20, 2011.
The Celebration of Life service will be Sunday, August 21, 2011 at Trinity Pines Baptist Church at 4769 FM 356 in Trinity, Texas.
