Jacqueline Brock, age 64 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on August 5, 2012, at Memorial Medical Center in Livingston. She was born on August 29, 1947, in Houston, Texas, to parents C.B. Winningham and Zula Hatten Winningham. Jacqueline married James Brock in Houston, Texas in 1980.

She is survived by her husband, James Brock of Livingston; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Lucy Winningham of Houston; grandson, J.R. Winningham of Houston; brother, C.B. Winningham, Jr. of Houston; sister, Sharon Sanders of Onalaska; two step-daughters, Michelle Brock Richardson and Jodi Brock Turner of Cairo, Georgia; three nieces, Tina, Tracie and Cheryl; and best friend, Jerri White.

A viewing and special visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 9, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.

Robert “Bobby” Leonard Thompson
February 11, 1945 to August 4, 2012

Robert “Bobby” Leonard Thompson, age 67 of Moscow, Texas, passed away on August 4, 2012, at his home in Moscow. He was born on February 11, 1945, in Carthage, Missouri to parents, Chester Thompson and Rayma Hastings Thompson. Bobby married Mary Hatcher on June 19, 1964, at Moscow Baptist Church in Moscow, Texas. He served in the US Army. And worked for Lufkin Paper Mill and Champion Paper Co. for 31 years. Bobby became a “born again” Christian in 1974.

He is preceded in death by his parents. Bobby is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Mary Thompson of Moscow; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Terry Thompson of Corrigan; son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Michelle Thompson of Nogalus Prairie; two grandsons, Tyler Thompson of Corrigan and Brannon Thompson of Nogalus Prairie; granddaughter, Taylor Thompson of Corrigan; two sisters, Wilma Willson and Goldie Anderson of Corrigan; three brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law, Melvin and Betty Jones of Copperos Cove; Dan & Evie Shew of Moscow; Gary and Eva Hatcher of Pollok; Dorothy Hoffman of Corrigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Damascus Missionary Baptist Church in Damacus, Texas. Bro Curtis Jordan and Bro. Robert Jones will conduct the services. Pallbearers are Earl Harris, Michael Pullen, Ashley Bacon, Dan Shew, Gary Hoffman, Kevin Hatcher, Darvin Jones and Michael Scoggin. Honorary pallbearers are: Livingston Long Rifle Baseball Team, Melvin Jones, Gary Hatcher, Carlie Smith, Clinton McClendon and Tyler Thompson. Following the church services, interment will be held at Damascus cemetery in Damascus.

Arthur Forrest Lamb, Jr

Funeral services for Arthur Forrest Lamb, Jr., age 69 of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, August 10, 2012, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Livingston, Texas. Father Clifton Labbe will officiate. Pallbearers are: Mark Lamb, Kenny McKey, Chris Carroll, Justin Odefey, Larry Sontag and Lynwood Babineaux. Honorary pallbearer is Fabio Mejia. Interment icon to follow at Restland Memorial Park cemetery in Livingston.

Arthur was born on May 1, 1943, in Victoria, Texas to parents, Arthur Forrest Lamb, Sr. and Edna Lena (Angerstein) Lamb. He passed away on August 3, 2012, in Houston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Edna Lamb; and two sisters, Yuvonne Robbins and Wanda McKey.

Arthur is survived by his partner, Juan Mejia of Livingston, Texas; brother and sister-n-law, Mark and Peggy Lamb of Boerne, Texas; niece, Ronda Schwandt of Houston, Texas; nephew, Chris Carroll of Mission Valley, Texas; nephew, Kenny McKey of The Woodlands, Texas; nephew, Jonathan Lamb of Cedar Park, Texas; niece, Marna Randall of Boerne, Texas; and great nephew, Justin Odefe of Houston, Texas; along with several other family and friends.

Michael Joseph Parrish

Michael Joseph Parrish, age 60 of Livingston was born August 4, 1951, in Houston, Texas and passed away on August 2, 2012 in Livingston, Texas. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating.

Michael is survived by his mother, Elfrieda Parrish of Livingston, Texas; brother and sister-n-law, Gerald and Jean Ann Parrish of Pasadena, Texas; brother, Randall Parrish of Livingston, Texas; sister, Kathaleen Riley of Livingston, Texas; 5 nieces and nephews and numerous other family and friends. Michael is preceded in death by his father, Carlton L. Parrish; wife, Janet Parrish; and sister, Theresa Parrish.

Michael was very goodnatured and outgoing who loved people. He graduated from Pasadena High School and went to San Jacinto College in Deer Park for a term. He and his wife, Janet lived in Dallas area and then Farmersville. He moved back to his home territory in October, 2011. He was overjoyed to be back with much of his family. Michael was head of maintenance at a couple of apartment complexes and then moved on to electrical work with a wire manufacturing company. He hurt his shoulder and had become disabled from work. He loved his ham radio and the many friends he made. He had many interests and will be missed by all.

Chad Michael Hambrick
November 18, 1966 to August 2, 2012

Funeral services for Chad Hambrick, age 45 of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 5, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Rev. James Frazier will conduct the services. Pallbearers are: Vernon Wooley, Terry Timmons, John Haynes, Tony Frazier, Keith Lemons, Bubba Jackson, Gary Cook, Ken Baker, Todd Ibison, Willie Vestal, Henry Howard and Steve McLaurin. Honorary pallbearers are all of Eastex Telephone employees. Following the chapel service, interment will be held at Forest Hill cemetery in Livingston.

Chad was born on November 18, 1966, in Lufkin, Texas, to parents, Kenneth Franklin Hambrick and Cheryl Lynn Freeman Hambrick. He passed away on August 2, 2012, in Houston, Texas. Chad was an avid golfer and loved to hunt and fish. He was a beloved son, brother and an awesome dad. Chad is survived by his son, Andrew Hambrick of Bedias; mother and step-father, Cheryl and James “Rick” Liljequist of Livingston; father and step-mother, Kenneth and Brenda Hambrick of Goodrich; sister and brother-in-law, Jeri and Rocky Smith of Kountze; special friend, Terri Hambrick of Livingston; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

The family says a special thanks to Eastex Telephone and their employees for all their love and support which went beyond anything that words can express.

In lieu of flowers, memorial can be made to Polk County Relay for Life.

Charles Nowell Wiggins

Charles Nowell Wiggins 74, of Livingston, Texas, went to be with his Lord July 31, 2012. Mr. Wiggins was born on July 27, 1938 in Chatham, Louisiana to William Andrew Wiggins Jr. and Alma Louise Nash.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty Herrmann Wiggins whom he was married to for 52 years; son Nowell Wiggins and wife Keisha; daughters, Terri Williams and husband Verlis, Kimberly Moore and husband Joel; grandchildren, Christopher, Hope, Justin, Nicole, Jacob, Brooke, Haley, Kelsey and Haden; one great grandson, Braden.

Charles was a member of Big Sandy Community Church. He loved to fish and hunt. He was a talented glass blower. Pallbearers will be Tyler Abbey, Jacob Moore, Justin Moore, Haden Wiggins, Danny Bates, Joel Moore, Verlis Williams and Edwin Hendrix. Honorary Pallbearers are Floyd Adams, Joe Helton, Chief Clayton Sylestine and Chris Wiggins. Visitation services will be held on Wednesday August 1, 2012 between 6-10pm at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. A Celebration of his Life will begin at 2PM on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Pace Funeral Home with Rev. Rex Hendrix officiating. Interment icon to follow at Big Sandy cemetery in Dallardsville, Texas. E. Charlene Kuepfer McCormack
July 21, 1931 to July 30, 2012

E. Charlene Kuepfer McCormack, age 81 of Livingston, Texas, passed away in Lufkin, Texas, on July 30, 2012. She was born in Houston, Texas, to Irene and Charles Harrison on July 21, 1931. She resided for the past 22 years in Livingston, Texas.

Charlene was predeceased by her loving mother, Irene Harrison. She leaves behind her husband, Ray McCormack; children, Paula Sullivan, Suzy Messina, Jim Kuepfer and David Kuepfer; grandchildren, Erin Sullivan and Corinne Sullivan; and great-grandchildren, Andrew, Sean and Jonathan, Jr. Charlene also leaves behind an extended family of cousins and ex-husband, Paul Kuepfer. She was loved and will be dearly missed by her family and her many friends.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 Am on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home, 406 Yaupon Street in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until her memorial service begins.

Irene Weiher
May 28, 1926 to July 30, 2012

Constance Weiher, age 86 of Point Blank, Texas, passed away on July 30, 2012, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Memorial City. She was born on May 28, 1926, in Kinderhook, Illinois, to parents Harry E. Higgins and Martha Bellomy Higgins. Constance married Donald H. Weiher on March 17, 1951. A son, Gregory R. Weiher was born to this union. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Donald Weiher; son, Gregory and wife, Connie Jo Weiher; granddaughter and husband, Rachael R. and Michael A. Collins; grandson and wife, Jesse C. and Joie Clee Weiher; two great grandsons, Corbin B. Collins and Patrick H. Weiher; brother, Rev. Harry Higgins, Jr.; nieces, Donetta Allen, Charlene Turner, Melba McCollum, Cynthia Higgins; nephews, Michael Higgins and Willliam Higgins. Constance is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Martha Higgins; two brothers, William Higgins and Carl Higgins; and sister Berta Lee Mason.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 4, 2012, at Point Blank Community Church in Point Blank, Texas. Pastor Don Davis will conduct the service. Interment icon will be held in Illinois.

Visitation will begin at 7:00 PM on Friday, August 3, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, Texas.

Jewel Massey Perkins

Funeral services for Jewel Massey Perkins, 96, of Corrigan will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Damascus Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Curtis Jordan and Brother Lester McAdams officiating. Interment icon will follow at Wheeler cemetery in the Wakefield Community.

Mrs. Perkins was born June 8, 1916 and died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 in Corrigan.

Mrs. Perkins retired from Corrigan-Camden Independent School District. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, going to church, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and loyal friend. She was a blessing to all who knew her. Mrs. Perkins was a member of Damascus Missionary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Perkins was preceded in death by her parents; husband Easton, son Bob, and daughter Dale. She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Linda and Harlon Parrish, of Corrigan; son Carl Perkins and fiancé Kristy, of Tuttle, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Kathy Perkins, of Atoka, Oklahoma; granddaughter Brenda and husband Eddie Van Antwerp; granddaughter Lisa and husband Kevin McCollum; grandson Travis and wife Kim Smith; granddaughter Amy and husband Leslie Kilgore; granddaughter Brandy Perkins; and granddaughter Kasey Perkins. She is also survived by great grandsons Ethan and Eli Van Antwerp; Andy McCollum and wife Courtney; great granddaughter Emily Smith; great grandsons Jackson and Cooper Kilgore; great-great granddaughter Kaylee McCollum and great-great grandson Michael McCollum.

Pallbearers will be Travis Smith, Kevin McCollum, Eddie Van Antwerp, Leslie Kilgore, Ethan Van Antwerp, Andy McCollum, Eli Van Antwerp, and Clayton Owens.

Thank you to the staff of Corrigan Nursing Home and Dr. Moran for the special care she was given.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 6-9 Friday August 3, 2012 in the Damascus Missionary Baptist Church.

Jewel enjoyed her flowers while she was living. In lieu of flowers, Jewel would prefer donations to go to Lufkin Hospice of the Pines or to the Brandon O’Neil Dirden Trust Fund c/o Citizens State Bank.

Velma Mihelich
September 1, 1929 to August 1, 2012

Funeral Services for Velma Mihelich, age 82 of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 3, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Bro. David Jones will conduct the services. Following the chapel service, interment will be held at Menard Chapel cemetery in Polk County.

Visitation will begin at 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Cochran’s Chapel in Livingston.

Mrs. Mihelich was born on September 1, 1929, in Wetumka, Oklahoma, to parents William Edward Hance and Virginia Brake Hance. She married L. W. Mihelich on December 17, 1946, in Houston, Texas. One son, Michael Edwin Mihelich was born to this union. She was a member of Schwab City Baptist Church and a fifty year Eastern Star member. Mrs. Mihelich passed away at her home on August 1, 2012.

Mrs. Mihelich is preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Virginia Hance, two brothers, Glen Hance and Leanord Hance ; and two sisters, Vivian Hance and Veleta Hance. She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, L.W. Mihelich of Livingston; son and daughter-in-law, Michael Edwin and Junett Mihelich of Conroe; two granddaughters, Stepheny Cuiltey of Orlando, Florida and Sahra Garra of California; and great granddaughter, Sidney Cuitley.

John Corby Creel, Jr.

John Corby Creel, Jr., age 83 of Livingston was born October 18, 1928 to parents, John Corby Creel, Sr. and Alice Lorene (Knowlton) Creel and passed away on July 29, 2012 in Livingston.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 2, 2012 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston with Adrian Handley officiating the services. Visitation will begin at 8:00 AM until service time on Thursday. Military Honors provided by VFW Post #8568. Pallbearers will be Dustin Kenner, Cody Kenner, Milton Victor Schultz, III, Norman Jerry Holley, Michael Scott Stewart, Milton Victor Schultz, Jr., David Carl Inman and Steven Marsh.

John proudly served this great nation in the United States Navy as Fireman First Lt. and was a past member of the American Legion. He is preceded in death by his wife, Esther Onalee Hudspeth, parents, John Corby Creel, Sr. and Alice Lorene Knowlton, son, Carl Lewis Creel, daughters, Sue Inman and Claudia Lorene Kenner, great grandchild, Raven Jade Schultz. Survivors include his grandchildren, Milton Victor Schultz, III, of Livingston, Dustin Kenner, of Livingston, Cody Kenner, of Cleveland, Brandy Schupska, of Livingston, Amber Schultz, of Livingston, and Wendy Willis, of Kansas; four great grandchildren; and special friend, Ina Humphrey, of Livingston. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
