Glenn is survived by his loving wife, Krisandra Burnett of 39 years. Daughter, Kristy Burnett and granddaughter Kassidi Elizabeth Burnett, daughter; Melinda Burnett; son, Dustin Glenn Burnett and grandson Sid Dustin Burnett; brothers, Joe Lynn Burnett and Billy Wayne Burnett; sisters, Nancy Carol Dueboay and husband Howard, Carmen Emmons and husband David. A visitation will be held from 5pm till 8pm Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at Pace Funeral Home. Van was born on November 25, 1934, in San Antonio, to Edward V. Conger and Elco Davis Conger and passed away on August 17, 2012, in Nederland. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eddie Tatum “Buddy” Conger. He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Darline Hightower Conger of Alto; daughters and sons-in-law, Vannette and James VanDevender of Nederland and Tatum and Terry White of Livingston; grandsons, Justin William VanDevender and fiancé, Megan Key of Nederland, Kevin VanDevender of Nederland and Trace Van White of Livingston; granddaughter, Kaycee VanDevender of Nederland; great grandson, Brock William VanDevender of Nederland; step-mother, Jeanne Conger of Navasota; brother and sister-in-law, Harry and Merle Conger of Spring Branch; brother-in-law, Bill Holley of Livingston; sisters-in-law, Catherine Conger of Bryan and Cynthia Conger Reeves of Houston; special friend, Earl Hackney of Alto and a host of nieces and nephews. Van served six years in the United States Air Force before coming to Polk County were he worked as a building contractor for 42 years. He was a founding member of the Indian Springs Volunteer Fire Department where he helped charter the organization. He went on to serve on year as assistant fire chief and 14 years as fire chief.
Van retired to Alto in 2004, where he was an active member of the Hilltop Baptist Church.

Alvin Branham, age 80 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2012, at his home surrounded by his family. Mr. Branham was born on January 23, 1932, in Winnsboro, South Carolina, to parents Johnny and Sally Branham. He married
Geneva Chapa Branham in Henrietta, Texas, on October 6, 1952 . Mr. Branham received his Bachelor Degree from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska. He retired as a CMSGT from the U.S. Air Force in 1980, after service for thirty years and then worked for Lockheed. Mr. Branham was a member of Beacon Bay Baptist Church in Livingston.
He is preceded in death by his parents and survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Geneva Branham of Livingston, Texas; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda and David Busse and Sandy and Bobby Mills, both of Bellevue, Nebraska; five grandchildren, Sherri Bulf of Lander, WY., Brandi Busse, Jennifer Fletcher and husband, David, Kasey Palmer, Nicole Humm, all of Bellevue, Nebraska; five great grandchildren, Brandon Busse, Zackary Busse, Devon Fletcher, Cheyenne Fletcher and Kaitlynn Fletcher, also of Bellevue, Nebraska.

Funeral services for Cheryl Goodwin, age 54 of Rye, Texas, were held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 18, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. The services were conducted by Bro. Darrell Brown and Bro. Gordon Langford. Pallbearers were Klint Bush, James Sloane, J.M. Brown, John Kokosz, Michael Crowell, William Jones and Dwayne Pickering. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Holder, Jerry Clark, Joshua Purdue and Allen Purdue. Following the chapel service, interment was held at Menard Chapel cemetery in Livingston.
Cheryl was born on March 10, 1958, in Texas City, Texas, to parents, Roy Franklin Holder and Barbara Nell Berryhill Holder. She graduated from Dayton High School in 1976. Cheryl worked for Polk County Publishing Company (Big Thicket Messenger) for thirty-five years. She passed away on August 15, 2012, at Conroe Medical Center in Conroe, Texas.
Cheryl's mother, Barbara Holder, and two aunts, Mary Via and Janie Hutto have preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband, Beamon Goodwin of Rye; father and step-mother, Roy and Jean Holder of Cleveland; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Susie Holder of Rye and John and Robbie Holder of Sheffield, Alabama; three sisters-in-law, and three brothers-in-law, Joyce and Danny Danford of Thicket, Francis and Red Disotell of Rye and Cecil and Patty Goodwin of Liberty; four step-sisters and one step brother, Sandra Kindle of Jasper, Lynn Langford of Cleveland, Mary Marshall of Humble, Bill Sonier of Cleveland and Kathleen Frankie of Humble; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives; and a host of special friends.

Dr. Emil “Doc” Herren Vogely, Jr.
June 30, 1922 to July 18, 2012
Dr. Emil “Doc” Vogely, Jr., age 90, passed away on July 18, 2012, at his home in Livingston, Texas. Doc Vogely was born on June 30, 1922, in Salisbury, North Carolina, to parents, Emil Herren Vogely and Martha Adams Vogely. He married
Leah Koehler in Columbus, Ohio, on June 15, 1946. Doc served in the US Army from September 1940 to April 1953. On active duty for four years as a Platoon leader in the Combat Engineers, in the European Theater, he landed on Utah Beach in Normandy, participated in the liberation of Northern France, Patton’s battle for Bastone, where he earned the Purple Heart and the Belgian Fouragere, the capture of the Rhineland, the first assault across the Rhine River and the final defeat of Germany. Redeployed to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, he earned the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Victory Ribbon and Philippine Presidential Unit Citation.
Doc Vogely earned a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering from Ohio State University, a Masters in Business Administration and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Houston. He was employed by Cincinnati Milacron Inc., as a Division Manager and later as the Chairman of the Data Processing at Lee College. Doc was a senior member of the American Society of Tool and Manufacturing Engineers and a Charter Member of The American Society for Abrasives. He was active in the Boy Scouts, an Eagle and Scoutmaster of Troop 78, Willistown, PA. Doc was a Trustee of VFW Post #8568, active in the formation of their Honor Guard and a member of the American Legion.
Doc Vogely and Leah Koehler were married
in Columbus, Ohio, on June 15, 1946. They reared four children. Doc is preceded in death by his parents, Emil Herren and Martha Adams Vogely; sister, Dr. Maxine Vogely; and brother, Dr. William A. Vogely. He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years, Leah Koehler Vogely of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Karen Vogely Hirt of Litchfield, OH, daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Anita Jones Vogely and Dana Jones of Binghamton, N.Y., son and daughter-in-law, Emil H. Vogely III and Judy Jensen Vogely, daughter and son-in-law, Martha Jill Vogely and John McMurray of Mt Solon, VA; four grandchildren, Jennifer Hirt of PA., Matthew Hirt of Ohio, Aaron Rabinowitz of Virginia, and Leah E. Vogely of New York; and sister, Jean Vogely Werner of Cincinnati, Ohio and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for Doc Vogely will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Pastor Joe McDonald conducting the service. Military Honors will be presented by VFW Post #8568 Honor Guard.

She was born on September 25, 1926, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to parents, Norwell and Ruth Boyd Roberts. Mrs. Thrash was a member of First Baptist Church in Onalaska, Texas, since 1985. She was the kitchen director and Sunday School Teacher, Photographer and Vacation Bible School Helper.
Mrs. Thrash is preceded in death by her parents, Norwell and Ruth Roberts; husband, R. L. Thrash; and brother Tom Willey. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, George Thrash of Onalaska, Texas, and Paul and Sylvia Thrash of Pensacola, Florida; daughter-in-law, Linda Thrash of Onalaska, Texas; and brother and sister-in-law of George and Pat Willey of Canton Mississippi.
