Mark Alan Madere, 46, a beloved son and brother and a talented video editor, artist and graphics designer, died on November 6, 2012 in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. Madere was born March 18, 1966, in Texas City, Texas, the son of Iris and Warren Madere. He attended public school in Texas City before his family moved to Livingston in 1980. He was a 1984 graduate of Livingston High School.
In 2005, he graduated from Westwood College of Technology in Fort Worth, Texas, where he engaged in the study of graphics design, video editing and Internet technology. He later worked for Digital 2000 Systems in Houston, a video production company.
His parents and his brother, Michael Madere of Houston, survive him.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on November 9, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home, 406 Yaupon, in Livingston. Mike Miller, minister of the Oak Grove Church of Christ in Livingston, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the SPCA of Polk County in Livingston.

Shirley V. Tanner, age 76, or Livingston, Texas, passed away on November 5, 2012 in Livingston, Texas. Shirley was born on March 15, 1936 in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to parents, John William Gaines and Viola B. Burton Gaines.
Shirley was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, she also was a tole painter. She loved baking, laughing, having fun, and playing bingo. Shirley is preceded in death by both of her parents, John William Gaines and Viola B. Burton Gaines; son, Thomas Tanner; grandson, Thomas Tanner III; sister, Muriel Phillips; brothers, Bill Gaines, Gene Gaines, and Denman Gaines. She is survived by her husband, Norville Tanner, Sr. of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Rita Conway of Livingston, Texas; son, Norville Drue Tanner, Jr. and Kelley Arredondo, of Indiana; son, Roy Dale Tanner and Lori, of Indiana; grandchildren, Sean Conway, Brittany McCorstin; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 12:00 PM at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
A memorial service will be held Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:30 AM also at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
“DJ” David Elbert Johnson, Jr.

“DJ“ David Elbert Johnson, Jr., age 88, of Livingston was born on January 21, 1925 in Ada, Oklahoma and passed away on November 4, 2012 in Livingston. He was a great husband, father and grandfather. “DJ” was highly known for his lawn mower shop, “DJ‘s Lawn Mower Repair.”
He is preceded in death by his wife, Anneliese Johanna Dormagen and son, Michael Thomas Johnson.
“DJ” is survived by his son, Peter Johnson, of Arkansas; daughter, Linda McFarland, of New Mexico; son, Steve Johnson, of Livingston; six granddaughters, Cristy Brasher, of Hurst, Lori Johnson, of Denton, Michelle Grady, Beth Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Sera Johnson; grandson, Gary Ray McFarland, Jr.; nine great grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.

Arthur George Vaughn “Grandpa”, age 93, of Livingston was born on July 31, 1919 in Salem, Missouri to his parents, George Elmer Vaughn and Alice Anna (Maganzer) Vaughn and passed away on November 4, 2012 in Livingston. He was a member of the Giddeons and enjoyed wood working in his spare time.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George E. and Alice Vaughn; loving wife of 50 years, Margaret Vaughn; brothers, James and George Vaughn; son-in-law, Jerry Lamb.
“Grandpa” Arthur Vaughn is survived by his daughter, Geraldine Lamb, of Willis; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Kirby “Clint” Thetford, of Livingston; three grandsons, Arthur “Artie” Moore, of Livingston, Clinton Eugene Thetford, of Eastland, Christopher Lee Thetford, of Traverse City, Michigan; four great grandchildren; brother, Elmer Vaughn, of Terrehaute, Indiana; numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 8, 2012 at the Midway cemetery in Livingston with Bro. Robert Smith officiating the services. Military honors will be provided by the VFW Post 8568.

Jack Travis Hall, age 49 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on November 2, 2012, at his home in Livingston. He was born on December 15, 1962, in San Antonio, Texas, to parents Jimmie Hall and Lois Day.
Jack is survived by his daughter, April Hall; son, Andrew Hall; father, Jimmy Hall; mother, Lois Day; sister, Sonja Clamon, brother and sister-in-law, Clayton and Traci Day; step-mother, Jennie Battise; special friend, Raymond Knight; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Magnolia Hill cemetery in Polk County, Texas. Rev. Bill Brackin will conduct the service. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM until service time at graveside.

Sturgis Elliot Chadwick, Jr., age 80 of Livingston, Texas, passed away in Memorial Medical Center in Livingston on October 28, 2012. He was born on November 23, 1931, in New York City, New York, to parents Sturgis Elliot Chadwick, Sr., and Louise Dennett Chadwick. Sturgis was a member of the Masonic Lodge A.F.& A.M. and was a member of the Shrine Jesters and served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sturgis and Louise Dennett Chadwick, Sr., and son, Steven Chadwick. Sturgis is survived by his wife, Shirley Chadwick of Livingston, Texas; three sons, Sturgis “Butch” Chadwick III of Winnetka, Illinois, Philip Chadwick and his wife Kendall of Shasta, California, and William Rex McKinsey and his partner A.J. Allon of Truro, Massachusetts; two daughters Lisa Sikora and her husband Dave of Austin, Texas, and Jean-Marguerite Miller and her husband Chuck of Livingston, Texas; ten grandchildren, Elizabeth, Madeline and Olivia Sikora, Sam and Steve Chadwick, Charles and Courtney Miller, Mya, Giana and Jacob Alton.

Paul Allin Heifner, age 77 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on October 31, 2012, in Livingston, Texas. Paul was born in Moberly, Missouri, to parents Joseph Ernest Heifner and Helen Yeakey Heifner. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the years 1956 to 1962.

Charlotte Ree Stefka, 78, of Livingston, Texas passed away on November 1, 2012 in the comfort of her home.
She was born to the late Ral Loyd and Linnie Cone on August 30, 1934 in Sweeney, Texas. She married
Fred Stefka April 23, 1955 in El Campo, Texas and for 57 years she has lovingly referred to him as “Freddy”. She was a member of the Livingston Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Charlotte was a strong and independent lady who was deeply loved. She will be missed by all of those whose lives that she touched.
Charlotte leaves behind her husband, Fred Stefka, of Livingston; four daughters, Regina Chambless, of Livingston, Monica Edwards, of Bryan, Mitzi Thompson and husband, Ronald, of Lovelady, Lynette Lilley and husband, Richard, of Splendora; grandchildren, Charlene Palmeri and husband, Joe, of Florida, Erica Chambless, of New York, Michael Chambless, of Georgia, Alyssa Smith, of Clearlake, April Howard, of Bryan, Kyle Schaeffer, of College Station, Lindsey Edwards, of Bryan, Brianna Edwards, of Bryan, Ariel Lilley Lane and husband, Shawn, of Humble; great grandchildren, Shane Turner, Saylor Tisdale, Molly Lane, Cheyenne Schaeffer; sister, Blanche Spell, of Henderson; numerous other relatives and friends.

Charles Wayne Herron, born Feb. 23rd, 1934 in Concord, Texas to Jack and Maude Prince Herron, passed away Nov. 2, 2012 in Trinity, Texas at the age of 78 years. Charles was employed as a glass cutter with Texas Tempered Glass out of Houston for over 40 years. He was a veteran having served in the United States National Guard, an avid fisherman, having spent many hours setting trot lines for his “favorite” catfish.
