Gordon Glenn Hayes, age 76 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on December 11, 2012, in Hermann Medical Center in Houston, Texas. He was born on January 2, 1936, in Galveston, Texas, to parents, Jack L. Hayes and Eunice Victery Hayes.
Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, Dave and Ella Victery of Leggett, Texas; brother, Jack L. Hayes, Jr.; sisters, Ella May Townsend and Betty Anne Sanders. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Hayes, and brother, Kenneth V. Hayes, both of Livingston, Texas; and many nephews and nieces.
Gordon attended schools in Leggett and graduated from Livingston High School in 1953. He served three years in the U.S. Navy and graduated from Texas A&M University. He remained at Texas A&M doing research on Motor Vehicle safety and accident prevention. He then made his home in Juneau, Alaska, where he retired from the State Services Department in 1995, and returned to reside in Livingston, Texas.
A visitation for Mr. Hayes was held on Thursday, December 13, 2012, from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas, with interment at a Graveside Service at Jones Prairie cemetery in Leggett, Texas, on Friday, December 14, 2012. Rev. Lucas officiated the service.

A precious centenarian, Ruby Alma Ham, age 101, passed away on December 10, 2012, at her home in Trinity, Texas. She was born on March 29, 1911, in Noble, Louisiana, to parents Isiah Yount and Louella Graves Yount.
Mrs. Ham is preceded in death by her parents, Isiah and Louella Yount; husband. J. W. “Ted” Ham; and son, Eugene Ham. She is survived by son, Johnnie Brown; daughter, Evelyn Smith; son and daughter-in-law, W.J. and Lupe Ham; daughter and son-in-law, Ruby and Billy Reed; daughter, Barbara Gonzales; nineteen grandchildren; forty-five great grandchildren; and fourteen great great grandchildren; and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ham were held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Rev. Fred Yount conducted the services. Pallbearers are Daniel Gonzales, Gabriel Gonzales, Tyrone Gonzales, Danny Weaver, Dale Reed, and Rick Shatwell. Internment was held at Swearingen cemetery in Woodville, Texas.

Tiffany was born on January 15, 1979, in Houston, Texas, to parents Perry Semons and Sharon Scroggins West. Tiffany and her brother, Gerritt Jacob John Klein passed away at the same time due to an automobile accident on December 8, 2012.
Tiffany is preceded in death by grandparents, Royce and B.J. Scroggins and Gene and Honey Semons. Gerrit Jacob was born on April 21, 1995, in Houston, Texas, to parents, Steven Klein and Marsha Weaver Klein. He and his sister, Tiffany Semons Lewandowski passed away on December 8, 2012, due to an automobile accident. Gerrit Jacob was a student at Livingston High School.

Gene Hobbs
Gene Hobbs, 90, of Porter Texas was born on October 30, 1922 to Arthur and Lois Hobbs in Palmer Texas. Gene passed away on December 10, 2012 in Livingston. He is survived by son, Art Hobbs and wife Diane of Livingston; granddaughters, April Hobbs and partner Shannon Simpson of Houston, Courtney Mears and husband Jarrad of Porter; great grandsons, Jacob Mears and Brady Mears; stepson, Douglas Mayfield and wife Barbara of Riverside; brother Bobby Hobbs of Palmer; sisters, Mildred James of Red Oak and Ruth Cady of Seven Point. Gene is preceded in death by both his parents; loving wife, Thelma Hobbs; sister Mae Ward; brothers, Burl Hobbs and Juicum (Ernest) Hobbs.
Gene has been a resident of Porter since 1962. He worked in the lumber business for 38 years as a lumber company manager for Burns Lumber in Houston. He retired from McCauley Lumber Company. Gene was in the United States Air Force and belonged to the VFW Porter – Post 4816 and the American Legion.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with a celebration of Gene’s life beginning at 1:00 PM in the chapel at Pace Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Mears officiating. Interment
will follow at Brookside cemetery in Houston at 4:00PM.
Debra Faye Neal (Debbie)

Debbie was born on October 15, 1955, in Houston, Texas, to parents Raymond L. Roberds, Sr. and Doris Rochelle Rocchi Roberds. She passed away on December 8, 2012, in Springhill, Louisiana.

Mrs. Darden was born to Walter and Della Petties on March 27, 1918 in the Boykin Settlement in Zavalla, Texas and passed away on December 8, 2012 in Lufkin, Texas. She was a homemaker all her life and a member of the Lilly Island Missionary Baptist Church in Camden, Texas. She loved to sing and was a member of the choir at Lilly Island for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents: Walter Petties and Della (Runnels) Petties; husband: Curtis Darden.
Mrs. Darden leaves to cherish her sweet memories her devoted and loving son and daughter-in-law: Glenn and Joy Darden of Camden, Texas; sister: Toledo Russell of Houston, Texas: sister-in-law: Jewel Darden of Camden, Texas; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mary “Mickey” T. Rudolph

Mary “Mickey” Rudolph, age 86 of Shepherd, Texas, passed away on December 8, 2012 in Shepherd, Texas. Mickey was born on July 1, 1926, in New York, to parents, William and Mary Shanahan McGlynn.
Mickey is preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, William G. “Deacon Bill” Rudolph; and grandson, Jeffrey Meekins. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Ray and Barbara Rudolph, of Thunderbolt, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Cheryl Rudolph, of Shepherd, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Cindy Rudolph, of Richmond, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Adrian and Danny Cennamo, of Shepherd, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Berni and Daren Davis, of Granbury, Texas; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Mickey resided in Bellaire, Texas from 1953 to 1978, then resided in Shepherd, Texas until her death. After working for Harris County for many years, she retired in 1994. She was an Avon representative for 35 years, and she was a member of the Shepherd Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, the Professional Business Women’s Association, and the Shepherd Chamber of Commerce.
Funeral Services for Mickey Rudolph were held Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at 10:00 AM, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cleveland, Texas. Father Paul Kahan and Father Eric Groner officiated the services. Interment
followed the services at Farley Chapel cemetery. Mickey was escorted to her grave by pallbearers, Daren Davis, James Rudolph, John Rudolph, Ray Rudolph, Ron Rudolph, and Ray Jones.
A rosary was held Monday, December 10, 2012, at 7:00 PM, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.
A visitation was held Sunday, December 9, 2012, at 5:00 PM, also at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Billie Jean Rhoden Baxley was born September 29, 1938 in Camp Ruby, Texas to Levert & Lilly Daniels Rhoden Hancock and passed away December 7, 2012 in Houston, Texas. She was a member of the first Baptist Church in Angleton, Texas. She is survived by her husband, David Baxley; mother, Lilly Ann Rhoden Hancock; son, Darrell Baxley; daughter, Terri Lynne Willy & husband Dale; daughter by heart, Dawn Grimes; brother, Wayne Rhoden and wife June. Two grandchildren, Kristy Baxley and Dustin Willy; One great grandchild, Zoey McDaniel. She is preceded in death by her father, Levert Rhoden; Graveside services will be held at 2pm Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Camp Ruby cemetery with Bro. Orval Barger officiating. Obit for Ben Alton Glover (Bennie)

Ben Alton Glover (Bennie) was born March 14, 1914, to James Tate Glover and Cordelia Ione Cosby Glover, in New Willard, Texas, and died December 5, 2012, at home surrounded by family members at the age of 98. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Evans Glover, who died January 8, 1963, and by second wife, Sara Love Glover, who died March 22, 2010, by four brothers, Guy, Jim Bob, Pete, Lewis, and two sisters Katie Riley and Myrtle Marsh.
Bennie graduated from Livingston High School in 1931 and married
Dorothy Evans on March 26, 1933. Bennie wore many caps, husband, father, friend, merchant, banker, builder, real estate developer, and wildcatter. His first job was selling roasted peanuts and shining shoes at the New Willard company store at age 10. At age 16, he opened a cleaning and pressing shop and sold suits in New Willard. As a young man, he played on a semi-professional baseball team organized by Zimmy Foreman and had a life-long love of the sport.
He opened Glover Automotive Supply Store in 1935, opened Glover Hardware in 1945, then built a new Glover Hardware in 1953. In 1940, he organized the Junior Chamber of Commerce and was its first president. As president of the Livingston Chamber of Commerce, Glover’s administration was given credit for securing City mail delivery for the City of Livingston, and for development of the Master Plan for the Polk County Fairgrounds. He encouraged the Trinity River Authority and the City of Houston to join together in the development of the proposed Lake Livingston, and personally traveled over 7, 000 miles contacting prospective industries in behalf of Polk County. He was President of the Polk County Industrial Foundation, and a member of the Texas Hardware Association, the Texas Forestry Association, and the East Texas Chamber of Commerce. He was a founding member of the Livingston Lions Club and organizer/manager/sponsor of the Little League Baseball in Livingston. He was vice president and the youngest man elected as Director of the First State Bank of Livingston with which he was involved for more than 55 years. He was 14 years on the Livingston City Council, chairman of Red Cross Fund drive, trustee of the First Methodist Church, a member of the of the official board and the building committee, and chairman of the finance committee. In 1963 he was named Polk County Man of the Year.
Bennie was truly a man’s man, loved the outdoors and hunting deer, dove, quail, turkey, pheasant, and playing dominoes with family and friends. He started Brooks Hunting Club in Sonora, Texas., and stalked deer there for decades. He cherished the many friendships he collected over 98 years in Polk County.
He is survived by a rich family legacy: daughter Sherry Roberts and husband Jim of Longview, Texas, son James (Jim) Glover and wife Sherri of Houston, Texas, grandchildren Holly Wagner and husband Philip, Julie Smith and husband Steve, Paige Walsh and husband Andy, James Glover and wife Melanie. He has 12 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren, 4 nieces and one nephew.
The family expresses deep gratitude to his loyal caregivers, Geraldine and Willie Harris, John Glass, Shavawn Pierson, Maria Damian, Kathy Johnson, Helen Allen and Marvie Shaw.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 12, at First United Methodist Church in Livingston, conducted by the Reverend James M. Frazier, assisted by Matthew Murphy and Holly Wagner. Honorary pallbearers are Gene Bush, John Gardner, Bill Goodwin, Billy Lambeth, Eddie Lewis, Carl Lichte, Clayton Lilley, Matt Murphy, Ben Ogletree, Jim Owen, Robert Siebold, Tony Taylor, and Steve Townley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, First United Methodist Church of Livingston, Texas, or to a charity of your choice.

Mrs. Andrews was born on July 30, 1918, in Baytown, Texas, to parents, George and Clara Allen. She passed away on December 7, 2012, in Huffman, Texas.
Mrs. Andrews is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arley W. Andrews; eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughter, Arline Parkin of Goodrich, Texas; grandson, David Price, Jr., of Dayton, Texas; granddaughter and husband, Jody and Ronald Roberts of Mt. Belvieu, Texas; three great grandchildren, Emily Roberts, Caleb Roberts and Kay Lynn Price; and a host of friends and other relatives.
