D.E. “Spec” Roberts, age 97 of Houston, Texas, passed away on January 10, 2013, in Livingston, Texas. He was born on August 12, 1915, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to parents, Thomas Jennings and Lodie Lee Roberts.
D.E. is preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, Elsie Roberts; brothers, Richard, Hubert, Kenneth, Charles, and Fred; sisters, Tommie Williams and Betty Pitman. He is survived by brother and sister-in-law, Don and Dixie Roberts, of Houston, Texas; sisters-in-law, Shelly Nesloney, of Houston, Texas, Verline Roberts, of Etoile, Texas, Alma Roberts, of New Caney Texas, Barbara Roberts, of Nacogdoches, Texas; brother-in-law, John Pitman, of Lufkin, Texas; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 14, 2013, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Dr. James Frazier will conduct the services. Pallbearers are Todd Roberts, Sr., Jay Roberts, Reid Roberts, Aubrey Brown, Tommy Pitman and Ron Price. Internment will follow the service at Magnolia cemetery in Onalaska, Texas.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until service time on Monday.

John Frank Crosby born December 18, 1935 to Clarence W. & Lillian Mae Kinney Crosby in Colmesneil, Texas passed away January 7, 2013 in Segno, Texas at the age of 77 years. Johnny is survived by numerous cousins and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by parents, wife and sister. A graveside service will be held 1pm Friday, January 11, 2013 at Turner Branch cemetery in Spurger, Texas.

Betty Christine Kyle was born on June 21, 1930 to George Whited and wife Rose in Middleburg, Kentucky passed away on January 9, 2013 in Rye, Texas at the age of 82. Betty is survived by her loving husband of Ernest Kyle of 48 years. Also four children and four grandchildren, numerous other relatives and a host of friends. A Celebration of Betty’s life will be held at a later date.

Ada Faye Polite, age 87 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on January 8, 2013, in Livingston, Texas. Ada was born on August 19, 1925, also in Livingston, Texas, to parents Jim and Mattie Sue Poncho Battise.
Ada is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Ford Polite; two brothers, Charles Battise and Rev. Milton “Redd” Williams; and two sisters, Nettie Lee Poncho and Marville Price. She is survived by her son, Pete Polite, of the Reservation; granddaughter, Candice Polite Robinson and husband, Manning, of the Reservation; great-granddaughters, Aiylah Polite Robinson and Miyakoda Polite Robinson, both of the Reservation; brother, Burke Walker, of the Reservation; brother and sister-in-law, Oscar and Delores Williams, of the Reservation; sister-in-law, Pauline Williams, of the Reservation; along with a host of nieces and nephews. Ada will be escorted to her grave by pallbearers, Darren Obe, Sr., Nathan Williams, Clint Poncho, Clifford Williams, Jason Williams, Joel Williams, Shawn Walker, and Julian Sylestine. Honorary pallbearers include, Aaron Williams, Trey Bullock, and Roland Poncho.
Funeral services for Ada Faye Polite will be held Friday, January 11, 2013, at 2:00 PM, at Indian Village Assembly of God Church on the Reservation. Interment
will follow the service at First Texas Indian Baptist Church cemetery. Rev. David Busby and Rev. Rudy Martinez will be officiating.
A visitation will be held Thursday, January 10, 2013, at 5:00 PM, also at Indian Village Assembly of God Church, with a wake service beginning at 6:00 PM.

Edna was a member of Melrose Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. She belonged to the VFW Ladies Aux. of Houston and the Livingston Red Hat Society; Edna moved to Livingston, Texas and retired after the death of her husband Jordan Garrett Burton. Edna is survived by children, Alice Ridgeway and husband Kenneth, Rebecca Middleton and husband Richard, Sue Jones and husband Ben, Allen Burton and wife Doreen and Stan Burton and wife Becky; Seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; Numerous other family and a host of friends.

Our father, Frank Edwin Flowers, Sr., went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 27, 2012. He was 71 years of age. “Pops” was born to Clyde and Maudie Flowers on January 13, 1941 in Hemphill, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Neva Lewis, and sons, Frank, Jr. and Robert Clay. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Ann Flowers; daughter, Margaret Torres and husband, Daniel; sons, Steven DeWayne Flowers and wife, Jennifer, and Joseph Earl Flowers and wife, Kristin; grandsons, Brandon and Austin Lewis, Mario Hernandez, II and Jakeb and Darren Flowers; granddaughters, Ashley and Lindsay Hernandez and Abigail Flowers; great granddaughters, Kyrston and Haven Hernandez and Jayde Lewis; plus many, many more family and friends. Our father was born and raised in East Texas and at the age of 18, he joined the USMC. He was Honorably Discharged after 11 years of service with one year of service in Vietnam. Pops eventually moved his family to Texas City and worked for more than 20 years at Amoco Oil refinery. Our parents started a new life in Livingston, Texas after pops retired from Amoco. They joined Beacon Bay Baptist Church where he became a Deacon and made many new and lasting friendships. In July 2011 our parents moved back to Texas City to be close to family while pops battled stage 4 COPD. He put a Hard and Courageous Fight. Throughout his life our Father was a pillar of strength to his family. He was a Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. Above all else, he was a Friend. He will be missed so much.
We as a family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice and especially Donnika, Angie, and Mike. Thank you so much for everything.
Memorial Services for Frank Edwin Flowers, will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Beacon Bay Baptist Church in Livingston with Bro. Harold Isaacs officiating the services. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post #8568. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Beacon Bay Baptist Church.

Gordon Howard LeBarron, age 76 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on December 29, 2012, in Livingston, Texas. He was born on July 20, 1936 in Bellingham, Washington, to parents, Clifton and Nona Mae LeBarron. Gordon is preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by one sister. Gordon served in the U.S. Air Force for nine years.
No service is planned, but a register book will be available for his friends to sign at Polk County Enterprise in Livingston, Texas.
