Jessy Wayne Dunn
July 21, 1949 - December 21, 2012

On December 21, 2012 at 10:00 AM, Jessy Wayne Dunn, of Splendora, Texas, with his loving wife of 43 years, Debbie Jane at his side, departed from this world. Jessy was born July 21, 1949 in Anahuac, Texas to J.W. and Rosa Gustine Dunn. Jessy was a proud U.S. Army Veteran during the Vietnam Era. He married Debbie Jane Hill of Goodrich, Texas, on December 23, 1969, and loved her beyond measure until the moment he took his last breath.

Jessy was a very talented man and was successful in many fields of employment. Jessy started several businesses from, construction to Non-Profit organizations to help the less fortunate people in the Montgomery/Liberty County areas. Jessy is remembered by many to be a giving and caring man. He worked as a business owner in construction and traveled all over the world from different states to different countries. In 2008, Jessy traveled to Iraq as a Project Manager and was responsible for starting a place of worship for Third Country Nationals.

Jessy’s life was overtaken by cancer after a hard fought year and long battle. During his fight, Jessy never lost hope in life or his faith in the Lord. Jessy leaves behind a great legacy as a husband, father, and grandfather. Jessy and Debbie were unable to have children so together they adopted two children during the 1970’s. Jessy loved both of the children as no other man could love a child and never looked at them as being adopted. Later in 1991, they adopted another child and also raised and loved him the same way.

Jessy is preceded in death by his father and mother, J.W. and Rosa Gustine Dunn. Jessy is survived by his wife Debbie Jane Dunn, of Splendora, Texas; daughter, Donna Hogan, of Splendora, Texas; son, Shaun Dunn and wife Becky Dunn, of Woodville, Texas; son, Trevor Dunn and wife Cassie Dunn, of Splendora, Texas; Spiritual daughters, Tammie Wilson and Rhonda Eppinette.
Jessy is also survived by eight brothers and sisters; sisters, Rose Marie Tarver and Judy Levina Stafford; brothers, James William Dunn, Edward Leon Dunn, Wesley E. McMillian, Ronny R. Dunn, George Thomas Dunn, and Arthur Paul Dunn. Jessy was also a proud grandfather of eight.

Services for Mr. Dunn were held, Monday, December 24, 2012 at 10:00 AM, Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Interment icon followed the services at Peebles cemetery. Rev. Brenda Talent officiated the services. Military Honors were provided by VFW Honor Guard Post #8568. A visitation was held Sunday, December 23, 2012, at 2:00 PM, at Cochran Funeral Home.

Ann Louise Endee
February 28, 1936 - December 21, 2012

Ann Louise Endee, age 76 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on December 21, 2012 in Livingston, Texas. Ann was born on February 28, 1936, in Medford, Massachusetts, to parents, Nelson and Gladys Miller Nicholson.

Ann is survived by her husband, Curtis W. Endee; sons, John F. Nowell and Paul R. Nowell; grandson, John F. Nowell III; granddaughter, Elizabeth A. Granada; granddaughter, Emily M. Nowell; grandson, William C. Nowell; grandson, Paul A. Nowell; grandson, Brandon J. Nowell; granddaughter, Hannah O. Nowell; great-grandson, John F. Nowell IV; great-granddaughter, Emma K. Nowell; great-grandson, Kyler A. Granada; great-grandson, Max A. Granada; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Ann will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at St. Theresa of Lisieux in Billerica, Massachusetts. Interment icon will be at Mount Auburn cemetery. Father Shawn Allen will be officiating the service.

Vernon Earl Covington
March 5, 1958 - December 26, 2012

Vernon “Butch” Covington, age 554, of Livingston, Texas, passed away on December 26, 2012, in Lufkin, Texas. Vernon was born on March 5, 1958, in Houston, Texas, to parents, Donald and Velma Lee Biziak Covington.

Vernon is preceded in death by his father, Donald Covington; and two brothers, Ricky Covington and Donnie Covington. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Covington, of Huntsville, Texas; son, Patrick Covington, of San Diego, California; the mother of his children, Marilyn Covington, of Huntsville, Texas; mother, Velma Covington, of Magnolia, Texas; sisters, Connie and Diane, both of Magnolia, Texas; granddaughter, Dynasty Covington, of San Diego, Texas.

Memorial Services for Vernon “Butch” Covington will be held Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston. Patrick Covington will officiate the services.

Ardeena Battise
August 17, 1944 - December 25, 2012

Ardeena Battise, age 68 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on December 25, 2012, in Livingston, Texas. She was born on August 17, 1944, in Elton, Louisiana, to parents Solomon and Adeline Abbey Battise.

Ardeena is preceded in death by both of her parents; and brother, Willis Battise. She is survived by her husband, Clifton Battise, of Livingston, Texas; son, Ken Battise, of Livingston, Texas; son, Kerwin Battise, of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Roddy Battise and Lori, of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Bonnie Rodriguez, of Livingston, Texas; granddaughter, Sabrina Rodriguez, of Livingston, Texas; grandson, Anthony Rodriguez, of Livingston, Texas; sister, Janice Sylestine, of Orange, Texas; sister, Glenna Robinson, of Elton, Louisiana; sister, Faye Robinson, of Oberlin, Louisiana; sister, Gloria Cernek, of Elton, Louisiana; brother, Leonard Battise, of Kinder, Louisiana; brother, Reed Battise, of Monroe, Louisiana.

Services for Ardeena will be held, Friday, December 28, 2012, at 2:00 PM, Livingston Gospel Assembly. Rev. Hugh Klodzinski will be officiating, with the assistance of Pastor John Cernek and Rudy Martinez. Interment icon will follow at Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation cemetery.

A visitation will be held, Thursday, December 27, 2012, at 5:00 PM, with a wake service beginning at 6:00 PM, at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Ricky Lynn Barnes
May 19, 1962 to December 24, 2012

Funeral services for Ricky Lynn Barnes, age 50 of Livingston, Texas, were held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Rev. Harold Isaacs conducted the services. Interment icon was held at Holly Grove cemetery in Polk County, Texas, following the chapel service.

Ricky was born on May 19, 1962, in Idabel, Oklahoma, to parents, Donald Willis Barnes and Henrietta Pearl Barton Barnes. He passed away on December 24, 2012 at Lufkin Memorial Hospital in Lufkin, Texas.

Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Henrietta Barnes. He is survived by two daughters and one son, Diana Barnes of Honoraville, Al., Ricky Lynn Stanfield and Misty Barnes; five sisters and brothers-in-law and four brothers and sisters-in-law, Elaine and Harold Cornisa of Spokane, WA., Virginia and Eddie Truelove of Santa Fe, TX., Douglas Wayne and Marlene Barnes of Pasadena, TX. David and Heather Barnes of League City, TX., Michael and Lovette Barnes of Livingston, TX., Darrell and Amy Barnes of Pueblo, CO., Shirley and Bobby Sumner of Livingston, TX., Pamela and Michael Lyons of Lafayette, LA., and Tammy and Ted Tanner of Stockton, CA., and uncle, Elmer Barnes of Trinity, TX.

Gary Lee Robinson
April 4, 1936 - December 23, 2012

Gary Lee Robinson, age 76 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on December 23, 2012, in Livingston, Texas. Gary was born on April 4, 1936, in Carbon, Texas, to parents, Nolan Dingler Robinson and Alta Mae Ables Walker.

Gary is survived by wife, Della Marie Robinson; son, Bennie Robinson; daughter, Dina Kay Carnes; grandson, Bennie Robinson, Jr.; granddaughter, Tina Robinson; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Carnes Vest; great-granddaughter, Alecksandria Vest; granddaughter, Katie Mayo; grandson, Derek Mayo; granddaughter, Kelly Mayo; granddaughter, Alexxus Robinson; grandson, Colby Robinson; grandson, Colton Robinson; grandson, Christian Robinson; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Mr. Robinson will be held, Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at 2:00 PM, at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Rev. Judy Forsman will be officiating the service.

Thelma Hazel Nicholson Ashworth

Funeral Services for Thelma Hazel Nicholson Ashworth, 92, of Porter, Texas will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2012 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel in Corrigan, Texas with Bro. Orval Barger officiating. Burial to follow in the Carmona cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2012 in the Corrigan Funeral Home Chapel from 11:00 to 12:00 prior to the service.

Mrs. Ashworth was born May 30, 1920, in Call, Texas and passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at the Oakmont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Humble Texas. Thelma enjoyed crocheting, bingo, reading and shopping. Her children said she was a “yard sale” maniac! She loved her family dearly especially those precious grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild. She was Baptist by faith. Mrs. Ashworth believed in staying at home and being a homemaker, taking care of the needs of her family. She is preceded in death by her parents: Frank Oddie and Ellen (Dorsey) Swearingen; husbands: Roy Nicholson and Lester Ashworth; brothers, Frank Oddie Swearingen Jr. and James Swearingen.

Mrs. Ashworth is survived by her sister: Margie Swearingen Bowersox and husband Ray of Woodlake Texas; sons: Freddie J. Nicholson and wife Vanda of Buffalo, Texas, Larry F. Nicholson and wife Pat of Porter, Texas; sister-in-law: Alice Swearingen of New Caney, Texas; granddaughters: Vickie L. Fuller and husband Roger, Kelly K. Stotts and husband Tracy, Kimberly J. Nicholson, Carla D. Nicholson, Sharon E. Nicholson, Margaret A. Harmon and husband Matthew; two great grandson, three great granddaughters and one great-great granddaughter.

Pallbearers: Kenneth Swearingen, Randall Swearingen, Keith Swearingen, Charles Bowersox, Ray Bowersox, Jr., and Hayden Bowersox.

Funeral Services entrusted to Corrigan Funeral Home, 204 E. Front Street, Corrigan, Texas.

William Raymond Knight
August 25, 1925 to December 19, 2012

William Raymond Knight, age 87 of Livingston, was born on August 25, 1925, in Segno, Texas, to parents John Henry Knight and Cecil Ann Carroll Knight. He passed away on December 19, 2012, in Memorial Medical Center Hospital, in Lufkin, Texas.

Mr. Knight served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. He retired from NASA as a CPA.

Mr. Knight is preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Cecil Ann Knight; and his beloved wife, Elfriede Bluecher Knight. He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Wendy Mae and Jeff Coward; sister, Birdie Mae Overstreet Bearss; niece and husband, Dianna and Jerry Robinson; brother-in-law and wife, Manfred and Erika Bluecher; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Knight at be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Pastor Roy Askins will conduct the services. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Post #8568 Honor Guard. Pallbearers are Leamon Cain, Dave Robinson, Ken Robinson, Kris Overstreet, Manfred Bluecher, Frankie Bluecher, Jerry Bowen and Orbra Cude. Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Robinson, Jeff Coward, David Kersh, Gary Hendrix, Rex Hendrix, Mike Pruitt, Jeff Campbell, T. J. Richards and Johnny Crosby. Interment icon will be held at Magnolia Hill cemetery in Segno, Texas, following the chapel service.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM until service time on Saturday, December 22, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston.

Mark Leroy Vaughan, Sr.
July 8, 1954 - January 17, 2013

Mark Leroy Vaughan, Sr., was born on July 8, 1954 in Baytown, Texas to Sam and Loretta Vaughan, and passed away at his home in Goodrich, Texas on January 17, 2013. Mark served in the U.S. Army and was a Special Education Teacher Assistant for both Duncanville and Cedar Hill ISD's for 16 years. Mark was raised by his father, Sam Leroy Vaughan and step-mother, Betty Vaughan in Deer Park, Texas. Mark was a 1972 graduate of Deer Park High School and attended San Jacinto College. Mark is survived by both of his parents, Sam and Betty Vaughan; birth mother, Loretta Nicholas and husband Mick Nicholas; and sister, Edna Spicer; children, Erin Clark and husband Leon Clark, Erin was born to Mark and Diane Walsh; Mark Leroy Vaughan, Jr., and wife Jamie Vaughan, Cynthia Orta and husband Christopher Orta, both Mark Jr. and Cynthia were born to Mark Sr. and former wife, Adriana Sanchez; grandchildren, Evelin Kinney, Robert Kinney and Alice Kinney, children of Erin Clark. Makayla Vaughan and Landon Vaughan, children of Mark Leroy Vaughan, Jr. and wife Jamie Vaughan. Joshua Vaughan and Grace Aguilar were born to Cynthia Orta, Chrisalynn Orta was also born to Cynthia Orta and husband, Christopher Orta; numerous other nieces and nephews.

Mark lived his last one and a half years in Goodrich, Texas, next to his parents, Sam and Betty Vaughan and his sister, Edna Spicer. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation was held from 6-7 PM, on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, with services beginning at 7:00 PM in the Chapel at Midlothian Funeral Home in Midlothian, Texas. Burial was held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at DFW National cemetery, Dallas, Texas.

Midlothian Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

John Henry Stephens
January 16, 1925 - January 23, 2013

John Henry Stephens, age 88 of Livingston, Texas, passed away on January 23, 2013, in Livingston, Texas. John was born on January 16, 1925, also in Livingston, to parents, Grady and Naomi Gaylord Stephens.

John is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Otho Stephens. He is survived by his wife, Lunell Stephens, of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Donna New and Ray, of Douglasville, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Delana Fogleman and Bennie, of Livingston, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Zelene Phillips and Marshall, of Livingston, Texas; sister-in-law, Casciel Stephens, of Friendswood, Texas; grandchildren, Katie New, Joshua Fogleman, Jeni Hermes and Curtis, Karen Homan and Aaron, and Jason New; three great-grandchildren; very special family friend, Gary Wright; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Henry will be escorted to his grave by pallbearers, Curtis Hermes, Joshua Fogleman, Juan Cruz, Bryan Baskin, Jeremy Buie, and Gerald Morris II. Honorary Pallbearers will be church board members, John Baskin, Stanley Crow, Jerry McCulley, Billy McPike, and Charlie Moore, and bank members, Gene Bush, Stephen Ernest, B.R. Haynes, Louis Lindsey, Loy E. Moore, Matt Murphy, Ben R. Ogletree Jr., Ben R. Ogletree III, Gregory R. Ogletree, Robert Sebaugh, and Steve Townley.

Funeral services for John Henry Stephens will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013, at 2:00 PM, at First United Pentecostal Church, in Livingston, Texas. Interment icon will follow at Forest Hill cemetery. Rev. Gerald Morris will be officiating the service.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 25, 2013, from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, also at First United Pentecostal Church.
