THOMAS YOUNG FOSTER
August 8, 1931 to February 21, 2013
Thomas Young Foster, age 81 of Village Mills, Texas, passed away on February 21, 2013, in Beaumont, Texas. Mr. Foster was born on August 8, 1931, in Huntington, Texas, to parents, James Young Foster and Zelta Mae Harrison Foster. Mr. Foster served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Funeral service was held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Big Sandy High School Gymnasium. The service was conducted by Rev. Harold Isaacs, Rev. Mitchell Murphy and Lloyd Cain. Honorary Pallbearers were The Big Sandy Varsity Basketball Team. Interment
was held at Magnolia Hill cemetery in Segno, Texas.
Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Glenn Foster; and sister, Doris Young Foster. He is survived by sister, Fleta Wyatt of Beaumont, Texas; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Joe and Mary Foster of Vidor, Texas, Gary Foster of Pasadena, Texas and Kenny Foster of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two sons (by love) and their wives, Kevin and Mandy Foster of Village Mills, Texas, and Roland and Veronica Foster of Baytown, Texas; ten grandchildren, Cole Foster, Kaden Foster, Kye Foster, Jennifer Selman, Matthew Foster, Colt Foster, Elizabeth Foster, Harrison Foster, Victoria Foster and Brendan Foster; nephew and wife, Kyle and Tara Foster; niece, Regina Hileman; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to “The Thomas Y. Foster Scholarship Fund” at First National Bank, account # 465783.

Verble Collins
Verble Collins, age 96, died peacefully on February 23, 2013. Verble was born June 23, 1916 in Nacogdoches, Texas, the daughter of Alva and Maggie Kimmey.
She is survived by her sons, Don Moye, or Dallardsville, Floyd Bryan Moye, of San Augustine, Travis “Bubba” Collins, of Silsbee, Edwin Collins, of Silsbee; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends also survive. She is also survived by three half-sisters. Verble is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Floyd Moye; her second husband, Vernon Collins; two sons, George Moye and James Collins; three daughters, Caran Moye Ferguson, Mildred Collins and Mary Nell Collins; three brothers, Carlos Kimmey, Eugene Kimmey and Guy Kimmey; one sister, Leona Kimmey.
Visitation for Verble Collins will begin at 5:00 PM, Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Big Sandy Community Church in Dallardsville with Rev. Rex Hendrix conducting the services. Interment
will follow the services in the Big Sandy cemetery.

Ethel Mae Shoemaker
Ethel Mae Shoemaker, age 94, died peacefully on February 22, 2013. Ethel was born May 23, 1918 in Port Lavaca, Texas, the daughter of James Lafayette and Cartie Ethel Miller.
She is survived by her two sons, Garry Shoemaker and Michael Shoemaker; four grandchildren, Susan Klawinski and her husband, Raymond, Nora Lynn Snow, Robert Michael Shoemaker, and Joshua Shoemaker; six great grandchildren, Amber Kaye, Jason and his wife, Kara, Monica Lynn, Philip and his wife, Tonya, Valerie and Courtney Brianna; thirteen great great grandchildren, Nicholas, Alex, Angel, Theo, Dejalin, Caden, Tavin, Alexandria, Devonte, Gracie, Jermie, Shelby and Alex; brother and sister-in-law, Horace James Miller and Betty Miller; a host of other family and friends also survive. Ethel is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Keenon Shoemaker; two brothers, William and Robert Miller; and three sisters, Nora Golden, Vera Neil and Nettie Rice.
Visitation for Ethel Shoemaker will begin at 5:00 PM, Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Magnolia cemetery in Onalaska with Rev. Don Wilkey conducting the services.

Mary Lois Payne
Mary Lois Payne, age 94, died peacefully on February 16, 2013. Lois was born August 3, 1918 in Blountstown, Florida, the daughter of William Lamberth and Mary Elizabeth Barbee.
In 1935, Lois married
Oreal Adron Payne and they had four children: Louise Nash, Jimmy Payne, Sue Ellis, and Jerry Mack Payne; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to being a homemaker and raising four children, Lois was a foster grandmother at Lufkin State School and an aide at Central Independent School District. The Special Needs Children loved their Granny Payne and she encouraged them through her smile for over twenty-five years.
Lois was a member of O’Quinn Baptist Church.
She is survived by one brother, Bennie Morgan of Seattle Washington and three children. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, Colonel Jimmy Payne.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston with Rev. Keith Woolf conducting the service. Interment
followed the services in the Bold Springs cemetery in Livingston.

Lawrence Lynn Trott
February 17, 1926 - February 13, 2013
Lawrence Lynn Trott, 86, passed away February 13, 2013 in his home at Point Blank, Texas, after a lengthy illness.
Lynn was born on February 17, 1926 in Abilene, Texas to Lawrence and Ruth Trott. He spent his childhood in various West Texas communities where he was active in Boy Scouts, Royal Ambassadors, band and football. He graduated from Rotan High School in Rotan, Texas in 1944. Lynn enlisted in the Army on July 13, 1944 and began his service at Fort Bliss. He married
Bettie Charline Hopson of Roby, Texas on December 22, 1944. Lynn transferred to Camp Ross and trained in the Antiaircraft Division as a 40mm Weapons Gunner. He was promoted to Corporal on July 12, 1945 and was sent to serve at Port Moresby, New Guinea with the Transportation Corps. He completed his military service at Camp Stoneman with the rank of Sergeant and was discharged in July 1946. He received a B. S. in Business Administration from McMurry College in 1949. He taught business and algebra and coached football and basketball at Megargel High School in Megargel, Texas in 1949. Lynn began his career with Shell Oil in 1952 in the Pipeline Division in Denver city, Texas. He worked in the Production & Gasoline Services, Purchasing and Accounting Services Administration Divisions in Odessa, Midland and Houston, Texas retiring in 1986.
Lynn was active in Baptist churches and community organizations in the many Texas communities where he lived throughout his life and was a member of the Midland Lions Club. He loved mechanics, woodworking, hunting, fishing, swimming and visiting with his sisters and family.
Lynn married
Mary Frances Krouse Ligon on October 17, 1981 in Spring Branch, Texas. They moved to Lake Livingston where he was active in the Point Blank Volunteer Fire Department serving as Fireman, President of the Board and Treasurer. He served the Point Blank Community Church as Elder, Chairman of the Board and Treasurer. Lynn enjoyed building, fishing, RV and cruise traveling for many years with his wife, community friends and sisters.
Lynn is survived by his wife, Mary Trott of Point Blank, TX; sisters, Joyce Surek of Abilene, TX, Virginia Sterling of Burnet, TX, and Glenda Greebon of Abilene, TX; daughters, Dianne Olsen of Brick, NJ, Ginger Rowbotham of Edmond, OK, Bettie Riall of Plano, TX, Pattie Jones of San Angelo, TX; step -daughter, Elaine Ligon Bridges of Little elm, TX; step-son, Greg Ligon of Plano, TX and their respective spouses; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 10:00 a.m. on February 16, 2013 at Point Blank Community Church in Point Blank, TX. Interment
services followed at Center Hill cemetery in Oakhurst, TX where he was laid to rest with Military Honors provided by the VFW Honor Guard Post #8568 and Procession Escort and Last Alarm Ceremony by the Point Blank Volunteer Fire Department.
Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Relay for Life, Point Blank Community Church, or Point Blank Volunteer Fire Department.

Joyce Margaret Drawe
Joyce Margaret Drawe born on August 28, 1925 in Livingston, Texas to Matthew and Cleonis Milling Murphy passed away on March 24, 2013 at the age of 87. Joyce is survived by her loving husband Walter Drawe, who shared their life together for more than 66 years; sister in law, Gloria Murphy; step-son, Dewis DeWayne Drawe of Houston, Texas; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Beverie Ruth Craig & brother, Matthew Neal Murphy; brother-in-law, John Ed Craig. Joyce was a member of First Baptist Church of Livingston. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 from 5-8PM at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. A Celebration of Joyce’s life will begin at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Livingston, Texas with Pastor Brett Lester officiating. Pallbearers will be Jake Close, John Close, Tommy Murphy, Gary Don Murphy, Matt Murphy and Tommy Clifton. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Lowe, Greg Ogletree, Gene Green and George Vannoy. Raymond Gottlieb Fischer

Raymond Gottleib Fischer, age 82, of Livingston, Texas, passed away on March 23, 2013 in Livingston, Texas. He was born on July 18, 1930, in La Crosse, Wisconsin to parents, Gottleb and Mae J. Fischer. Mr. Fischer proudly served the United States in the Army in 1951 to 1953. On January 9, 1960, he married
his love, Judy Carr.
Raymond is preceded in death by both of his parents; his sister, Mavis; his daughter, Jennifer; and his son, Richard. He is survived by his wife, Judy Fischer, of Livingston; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Randy Zincke, of Livingston; daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and John Amarante, of California; daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Lenny Boen, of California; daughter, Valerie Archamboult, of Minnesota; daughter, Beth Fischer, of Minnesota; son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Kim Fischer, of Tomball; son, Donald Fischer, of Nevada; son, Tony Fischer, of Minnesota; life long friends, Jim and Elaine Knox, of Houston. A host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends also, survive.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 5, 2013 at the American Legion Hall Post #629 in Camilla, Texas. Chaplain Ed Smith will be officiating the service.

Bennie Lee Waggoner
Bennie Lee Waggoner, age 71 of Onalaska, Texas, passed away on March 23, 2013, at Memorial Medical Center in Livingston, Texas. Mr. Waggoner was born on March 15, 1942, in Jefferson City, Missouri, to parents, Jesse Lee Waggoner and Louie Fay Shough Waggoner.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his half-brother, Terry L. Waggoner. Mr. Waggoner is survived by his wife, Brenda Waggoner of Onalaska, Texas; son and wife, Brian and Yvonne Waggoner of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; step-son and wife, Marshall and Jenny Perry of Alvin, Texas; step-daughter and husband, Suvella and Romerio Garza; half-sister and husband, Sherri and Charles Jackson of Harrisonburg, Virginia; step-brother, Tom BeBout of Theodosia, Missouri; grandchildren, Kerri, Eric and Krista Waggoner; and step-grandchildren, Stevie, Alaina, Brenton, Merik and Rylan.

Kenneth Ray Lamb, age 75, of Livingston, Texas, passed away on March 24, 2013 in Livingston, Texas. He was born on March 10, 1938, in Polk County, Texas to parents, Hiram and Ione Lamb. Mr. Lamb proudly served the United States in the Army in 1962. On December 30, 1965, he married
his love, Bessie Davis.
Kenneth is preceded in death by both of his parents; his son, John Robert Pruett and five brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Bessie Lamb, of Livingston; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Ronald Cox, of Livingston; son, Stephen Lamb, of La Porte; daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Kenneth Bravenec, of Katy; sister, Ruth Hannah, of La Porte; thirteen grandchildren, Amanda Clarke, Dustin and Taylor Cox, John and Autumn Cox, Kalen Cox, Annie Bravenec, Lilly Bravenec, Emily McMullen, Noah and Aaron Lamb, Jay Tyler Pruett, Elizabeth Caroline Pruett; twelve great-grandchildren, Lance Smith, Meagan Clarke, Josh Clarke, Kylie Nash, Landry Nash, Madison Cox, Payton Cox, Gracie Cox, Chloe Cox, Paige Cox, Leu Cox and Hayes Cox. Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Rev. Mitchell Murphy and Eulogist, John Davis officiated the service. Interment
was in the Center Grove cemetery following the services. Military Honors were provided by the VFW Post #8568 Honor Guard. Mr. Lamb was escorted to his grave by his pallbearers, Jay Westerman, Jay Pruett, Lance Smith, Dustin Cox, John Cox, Clint Davis, Ricky Smith Davis and Randy Wilson. Gwyn Elaine Norman
Gwyn Elaine Norman, age 65, of Onalaska, Texas, passed away on March 22, 2013 in Lufkin, Texas. She was born on August 17, 1947, in Rotan, Texas to parents, Curtis Terrell, and Wilba Barker Moore.
Gwyn is preceded in death by both of her parents and her sister, P. Betty Massengil. She is survived by her husband, Bill Norman, of Onalska; daughter and son-in-law, Trisha and Tony Martinez; sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Lisa Carney and James and Selma Carney; eight grandchildren, Matthew and Shelby Ross, Kevin Carney, Kyle Carney, Katelynn Carney, Aiden Carney, Angelita Carney and Theodore Ross; one great-grandchild, Madalyne Ross; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Dorothy Terrell. Numerous other relatives and friends.

Horace James Miller
October 2, 1920 – March 23, 2013

Horace James Miller was born in Port Lavaca, Texas on October 2, 1920 to James L. and Cartie E. Jones Miller. He is preceded in death by his daughter Linda Jane Barker and his granddaughter, Jeannie Davenport Nabors.
Horace served his country during World War II as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Air Force. He was a machine gunner on a B-17 Bomber with the 358th Bomber Squadron. He made 35 missions in both the European and Pacific Theatres. When he returned he entered Westminster College in Tehuacana, Texas. He earned a Bachelors Degree in Education. Then he transferred to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas where he received a Masters in Science and Agriculture.
He married
Betty Ruth Guyton in May of 1948. To this union was born five daughters and one son. The children were: daughter Shirley who married
Odell Jackson of Livingston, Texas, daughter Gloria Marie who married
Phil Davenport of Garland, Texas, daughter Linda (deceased) who was married
to Davis Barker of Jacksonville, Texas, daughter Becky who married
Ricky Wilson of Livingston, Texas, daughter Susan who married
Kurt Robertson of Alvin, Texas, and son Horace James, Jr. (Jim) who married
Meredith Peebles of Livingston, Texas and now reside in Houston, Texas.
Horace and Betty moved to Crockett, Texas in 1952. He shared that in 1953 while living near Crockett on the Youngblood farm, he and Betty came to know the Lord. He said “two witnesses came by and talked to us about Jesus and the sweet by and by.” That week they made a profession of faith and began the journey of growing their family in the Lord.
Horace was transferred to Livingston in 1959. He worked for the Soil Conservation Service until his retirement in 1979. He served in the community as a Boy Scout leader and Cub Scout Leader. He was also a member of the Lions Club. Horace also served as President of NARFE (National Association of Retired Employees) for many years.
Horace has served in several capacities at Central Baptist Church. He has been a member for over 50 years. He was ordained as a deacon in March of 1972. One of his joys was teaching the 5th grade boys. He taught that class for 23 years and saw many come to know the Lord. He was recently given the Deacon Emeritus award for his years of faithful service. He stressed the importance of teaching your children about the Lord. Horace was lovingly known as “Buster” by his family. Horace shared his life with Betty (almost 65 years) and raised his family to know the Lord. He showed that same love of the Lord to his 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. His grandchildren are: Melissa Sanderson, Stephanie Vincent, Kyle Jackson, Kenzie Jackson, Jeannie Nabors (deceased), Katie Day, Mendie Triguero, Cody Davenport, Craig Barker, Meagan Martin, Michael Wilson, Julie Smitherman, Alex Wilson, Sarah Roberson, Trey Robertson, Jamie Villarreal. His great grandchildren are: Ryan Sanderson, Jackson Vincent, Avery Vincent, Hudson Vincent, Audrie Jackson, Bryanne Jackson, Neiman Day, Lucas Triguero, Madison Triguero, Grant Davenport, Sutter Davenport, Mckenna Barker, Dawson Barker, Bryleigh Barker, Brooklyn Barker, Eli Martin, Tyler Wilson, Austin Wilson, Gavin Smitherman, Brody Smitherman, Hannah Wilson, Kayleigh Wilson, Reese Roberson, and Caden Roberson.

Rowena Faye Booth Young
Rowena Faye Booth Young born on September 18, 1929 in Baytown, Texas to Arthur and Iva Morgan Booth passed away on March 22, 2013 in Livingston, Texas with her daughter holding her hand at the age of 83. Rowena is survived by her daughter, Sandra Simmons and husband Jerry; sons, Tommy Zeglin and wife Margaret, Steve Zeglin and wife Cindy; grandchildren, Dina Barnes and husband Steve, Dedra Brown and husband Mike, Amanda Taylor and Marty Lopez; Chris Zeglin and wife Crystal and Morgan Zeglin and wife Jonna; great grandchildren, Victoria Taylor, Thomas Taylor, Makayla Taylor, Lane Turner, Paige Brown, Alyssa Brown, Hayden Zeglin, Kherrington Zeglin and Ayla Zeglin; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Young; mother, Iva Pruett; stepfather, Tom Pruett; father, Arthur Booth; stepmother, Sara Bess; brother Arthur Booth Jr.; sister in law, Lucille Booth.
Rowena loved to cook, tell old stories, loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on March 27, 2013 between 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Pace Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with a Celebration of Rowena’s life beginning at 12pm with Pastor James Frazier officiating. Interment
will follow at Camp Ruby cemetery in Livingston, Texas.
