Bobby Joe Brown, age 66 of Oakhurst, Texas, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Huntsville Memorial Hospital in Huntsville, Texas. He was born on March 23, 1947 in Kirbyville, Texas to parents Vernon Bronson Brown and Rosie B. Oliver Brown.
Mr. Brown married
Elizabeth Chadwick in Houston, Texas on January 8, 1966. He honored his country by serving in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam conflict a part of the First Marine Division - Kilo Co. 35. Mr. Brown was a member of Christian Faith Church in Oakhurst, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Rosie Brown and his wife, Elizabeth Chadwick Brown. He is survived by his daughter, Bridgette Young and his son, Michael Young, both of Oakhurst, Texas; two granddaughters, Mariah Gober and Tori Gober of Oakhurst, Texas; three brothers and four sisters, W. R. Brown of Hemphill, Texas, Vernon Charles Brown of Kirbyville, Texas, Mary Francis Barfield of San Antonio, Texas, Shirley Ann Jackson of Pasadena, Texas, Jerry Dean Brown of Pasadena, Texas, Judy Lynn Dorflinger of Pasadena, Texas, and Margaret Lavern Jones of Austin, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Trustee Christian Faith Church in Oakhurst, Texas. Rev. Dale Kelley will conduct the services. Interment
will be held at Center Hill cemetery in Oakhurst, Texas, following the church service.

Willard Burl Avery, age 72 of Livingston, Texas passed away in Conroe, Texas on August 31, 2013. He was born on October 19, 1940 in Forrest City, Arkansas to parents, George and Helen (Burbank) Avery.
Willard is preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister, Catherine Fowler. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Danielle and Stanton Marsh of Livingston, Texas; daughters, Jody Johnston, Tommie Neil, and Sonnie Quin; son, George V. Avery of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Renae and Earl Bartholomew of College Station, Texas; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of friends.

July 27, 1919 – August 28, 2013
W.R. “Bill” Hulin, age 94 of Segno, Texas, passed away on August 28, 2013 in Livingston, Texas. He was born on July 27, 1919 in Sulphur, Louisiana to parents, Ulysses and Vivian (Carlin) Hulin.
W.R. “Bill” is preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, Gean Ellis Hulin, who he married
on October 29, 1946 in Beaumont, Texas; brother, James Thomas Ulan; sister, Inez Kent; and grandchild, Jodie Lynn Buckner. He is survived by his daughters, Sondra Cain of Segno, Texas and Linda Buckner and husband Billy of Beaumont, Texas; son, Bill Hulin and wife Mirna of Galena Park, Texas; grandchildren, Billie Gean Bradbury and Brandon, Paul Cain and Tanya, Kimberly and Trey Lewis, Leigh Ann and Colby White, Justin Hulin, Erica Cuellar, Mitchell Cuellar, Myrna and Daniel Sandvoal; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Lillian Allen of Henderson, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
He will be escorted to his grave by pallbearers, Paul Cain, Justin Hulin, Wade Cain, Bo Tolar, Mike Schwark, Brandon Bradbury, Bill Locke, and Glen Carpenter.
W.R. “Bill” Hulin was a past member of the Segno Fire Department and the Silsbee Fire Department. He was also a member of the Kountze Pine Lodge #642 A.F. & A.M and of Sun Flower Baptist Church. He honored his country by his service during WWII in the US Army.
Services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2013, at 10:00 AM, at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Rev. Mitchell Murphy will be officiating the service. Interment
will follow at Magnolia Hill cemetery in Segno, Texas. Military honors will be provided by VFW Honor Guard Post #8568.
Visitation will be held Friday, August 30, 2013, at 5:00 PM, also at Cochran Funeral Home.

Tim Allen Winland
Tim Allen Winland born on September 24, 1957 in Lutcher, Louisiana to Milton and Jean Winland, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Goodrich, Texas at the age of 55. Tim was a beloved brother, uncle and friend to many. Tim was veteran with the United States Navy the service to his country and community will never be forgotten. He is survived by his two brothers, Chris Winland and Jack Winland; sister, Jody Shawa; nieces, Melanie and Karen; nephews, Chris, Jack and Jason; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Billy Elton Kervin
October 25, 1926 – August 26, 2013
Billy Elton Kervin passed away in Conroe, TX on August 26, 2013. He was born in Holly Grove, TX on October 25, 1926 to William Morgan Kervin and Sallie Martha Rhodes. He grew up in Holly Grove and graduated from Hardin High School. He enlisted in the army in June of 1945 and was honorably discharged in December of 1946.
In 1985, Bill retired from Brown and Root after 28 years of service. He loved to deer hunt, raise cattle, and bale hay. He was a member of Trinity Masonic Lodge #14 in Livingston and was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason. He was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school superintendent. He was a member of the Arizona Creek Hunting Club for many years and served as an officer of that club.

Thomas F. Vogt, Jr. of Livingston, Texas, was born on December 23, 1956 in Houston, Texas. Thomas was the beloved son of Thomas F. Vogt and Mary Jane Vogt. He died on August 24, 2013 in Livingston, Texas. He is survived by his mother, Mary Jane Vogt; sisters, Barbara L. Hagan, Susan Jordan and husband David, Deborah Creppon and husband Joe and Lisa Harless; aunts, Barbara Cox, Carol Siler and Shirley Siler; uncle, Randy Siler; numerous other nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Thomas is preceded in death by grandparents, father, Thomas F. Vogt and his infant brother, Thomas Floyd Vogt.

James Clarence Bratton Jr.
May 17, 1984 – August 18, 2013
James Clarence Bratton Jr., known to friends and loved ones as “Blinky”, died Sunday, August 18, 2013.
James was a cherished son, an adored brother, a die-hard friend, a fun uncle, and a loved cousin. He was born at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas in 1984 to James Bratton Sr. and Barbara Bratton. He grew up in and around Livingston, Texas.
As a kid, he was the youngest of three and the only son, doted on by sisters and cousins. He was relentlessly curious and quick with a smile, and picked up his first guitar at the age of four. As a young man, he was selfless, intelligent and thoughtful. Many nights found him playing Metallica riffs on an electric guitar, working on his car, or deep in conversation on the front porch of his uncle’s house, or standing around a campfire, laughing with friends. He travelled Canada and the U.S. extensively for work, and briefly lived in Torrence, California before returning to Livingston in 2012.
He is survived by his mother and father; sisters, Rose Maltby of Houston and Catherine Kennedy of Livingston; four nieces, one nephew and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
His friends and family are grateful they had the opportunity to witness his life and to be a part of it, and will miss him more than words can express. A private memorial will be held on Saturday, August 31; contact family members for details.

Harold Tarver Sr. was born June 19, 1931 in Harrisonburg, Louisiana and passed away Saturday, August 24, 2013 in Elkhart, Texas. He retired from the United States Army in 1974 where he proudly served his country for 20 years. He was member of the Pentecostal Fellowship. He was known as “Dobbin” to his grandchildren and great grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his wife: Willie Mae (Cardwell) Tarver; parents: John Wesley and Marie A. (Kelly) Tarver; brothers: Jay Jay Tarver, Jimmy Tarver; sisters: Glades Joy and Adena Cirillo.
