Doris Lee Bardwell-St. Germain-Dunn
March 28, 1927 – September 22, 2013
Doris Lee Bardwell-St. Germain-Dunn, 88 years of age died peacefully on Sunday September 22nd, 2013 in Woodville, Texas.
She was born the daughter of William Albert Bardwell from New Orleans, Louisiana on March 28th. She survived two loving and wonderful husbands; Joseph Dolese St. Germain (died 1969) and Cecil Ray Dunn (died 2008). She also survived her eldest daughter Deborah Ann St. Germain-Allen who left this world in 2003.
Her four living children will miss her dearly; she was truly the anchor that kept them grounded during life’s many trials and tribulations; Her eldest son is Albert Dolese Wilkerson and resides in Alabama; Gene Daniel St. Germain was not only her son but also her friend and caregiver; Yvette Phyllis St. Germain-Stroud resides in Maine; and her youngest daughter is Tonya Lynn St. Germain-Fryer and she resides in Galena Park, Texas. She also had 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren that survived her.
She always made the best of what she had and helped others whenever she could. In her younger days she would bring strangers home and try to help them get back on their feet; and she loved animals as much as she did people. She would keep pet food in the back of the car in case she found any strays on the side of the road.
If you knew her you knew that she loved fishing and it was a dream-come-true for her to live on a lake to spend her retirement years. One of our fondest memories occurred after she received a pearl necklace on her 78th birthday. The day after she received her gift she woke up, put on her robe, put on her pearl necklace and slippers, climbed in her aluminum boat, and went fishing out on the lake.
She lived her life to the fullest and was thankful for what she had. She taught her children to do the same.
Memorial Contributions will be accepted in lieu of flowers.
Please send to Gene St. Germain, 232 Private Road #6170, Woodville, Texas 75979.
