Nina Jo Duff, age 78 of Livingston, Texas passed away on October 14, 2013 in Livingston. She was born in Leon County, Texas to parents, Wilburn Everett and Minnie Jewel (Murphy) Stutts.
Nina is preceded in death by both of her parents; first husband, Eugene Crawford; brothers, Sonny Stutts and CY Stutts; sisters, Sue Sage and Debbie Austin. She is survived by her husband, McArthur Duff of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Susan Crawford of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Terry Jo and Joel Dobbs of Livingston, Texas; sisters, Gloria Zavalla of Walla Walla, Washington and Jeanette Zemmer of Oregon; grandchildren, Crystal Baugh, Megan Crawford, Kristin Gamboa, and Isaac Crawford; great-grandson, Fisher Baugh; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services for Nina Jo Duff will be held at 4:30 PM, Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Rev. Darrell Keith Duff will be officiating the service. Interment
will follow at Peebles cemetery in Livingston, Texas.

Mary Virginia Breaux, age 73 of Goodrich, Texas passed away on October 14, 2013 in Livingston. She was born on February 10, 1940 in Winona, Mississippi to parents, W.E. and Margaret (Hensley) Brownlow.
Mary is survived by her sons, Walter Breaux of Goodrich, Texas, Chris Breaux of San Marcus, Texas, and Dwayne Breaux of Round Rock, Texas; God-niece, Barbara Garnett of Taylor, Texas; grandchildren, Walter Breaux III, April Bortz, Britnie Oertli, Aaron Breaux, Caleb Breaux, Tony Breaux, David Breaux, Autumn Firelo, Eric Breaux, Neil Breaux, and Audree; along with a host of friends and nieces and nephews.

Billie Jean David, born on June 28, 1956 in San Antonio, Texas to Billy Jack David and Thelma Bernice Stanley Armstrong, passed away on October 14, 2013 at the age of 57. Carnie Wiley White of Livingston, Texas died Monday, October 14, 2013. He was born on August 3, 1916 to Elton and Grace Eaton White. He is preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Letha White, and a daughter, Peggy Jane White.
Carnie is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Dianna White, of Tomball, Texas; grandchildren, Ashley White Allen of Tomball, Texas and Dr. Wade White and his wife Lesa of San Antonio, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Karle Allen, Taylor Allen, Walker White, Katie White and Jackson White; he is survived by many other relatives and a host of friends.
Carnie was born in Leggett, Texas and lived in Polk County all of his 97 years. He was an employee and later owner of Gerlach Hardware. His mind was sharp and his memory was good. Folks came to him for information about people and events from the past.

Margaret Sue Satterlee, born on May 22, 1935 in Canadian, Texas to Walter Amos and wife Elizabeth Sue Bryant Latham, passed away on October 13, 2013 at the age of 78. Margaret is survived by her children, Earline Sue Wall and husband Dennis, Walter James Beck, Oleta Poole and husband Alford, Sylvia Kay Francis and husband Kip, Kathleen Jones and husband Donnie and John Arthur Thompson III and wife Shannon; sister, Rose Earlene Snow and husband Bob; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; a host of friends. Margaret is preceded in death by parents; sons, Belmontie Rayfield Wilson and Alex Eugene Beck; grandson, Christopher David Butler; great grandson, Christopher “C.J.” David Butler Jr.; sister, Mary Juanita Deathridge; brother, David Latham; Margaret attended Pine Forest Baptist Church in Livingston. Troy H. Palmer

Troy H. Palmer, age 76 of Livingston, Texas passed away on October 10, 2013 in Houston, Texas. He was born on February 28, 1937 in Corpus Christi, Texas to parents, Samuel Gilford Palmer and Mamie Nell (Bonner) Palmer.
Troy is preceded in death by both of his parents; two daughters, Venita Carol Palmer and Vicky Lynn Palmer; and grandson, Anthony Mazzili. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Judy Palmer of Livingston; sons, Troy Palmer, Jr. of La Porte, Douglas Lee Palmer of Teague, Michael Wayne Feris of Mansfield, and Dee Anthony Feris of Livingston; daughter, Cherylyn Douglass of Livingston; five sisters; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
Mr. Palmer was a member of the Fairbanks Masonic Lodge A.F& A.M – 32 Degree, Scottish Rite Mason Orient of Houston, Arabia Shrine Temple, and the Houston Heights Rotary Club. He was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
Services for Troy H. Palmer will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Father Melvin Gray will be officiating.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM, prior to service time on Sunday.

Jerry Allen Chain
July 16, 1929 – October 9, 2013
Jerry Allen Chain, age 84, died on October 9, 2013 at his home in Livingston, Texas. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to Mardis Neil Chain and Ruby Gertrude Boimare-Chain. Jerry spent his early years in Destrahan, Louisiana and moved to Texas City, Texas in 1933. He was a junior in high school in April 1947, when the disastrous Texas City explosion occurred; an event he never forgot. He attended many reunions in Texas City throughout the years. He was a fine athlete, playing football, basketball and baseball during those early years. He attended LSU and McNeese University on a football scholarship. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Agriculture. After graduation, he fulfilled his ROTC commitment for a period of two years active duty in Company L, Infantry Regiment as a 1st Lieutenant. During this time he married
his high school sweetheart, Jo Inns. They had five children, Daniel Allen Chain, Thomas Michael Chain, Sue Ann Chain-Scazzero, James Mardis Chain and Nancy Jo Chain-Robinson.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Lynn Hebert-Chain, his sons, Tommy Chain and daughter-in-law, Mary Chain, and Jimmy Chain; his daughters, SueAnn Scazzero and her husband Tony and Mary Robinson and her husband John; He is survived by seven grandchildren, Timmy Chain, Billy, Anthony, and Jenny Scazzero, Nathan, Melissa, and Jered Chain; and five great-grandchildren.
Jerry enjoyed all outdoor activities, especially his favorite, duck hunting. He was an excellent golfer, playing from five years old in Texas City. He was pro during the 50’s at the Texas City Golf Course, and manager/pro of Mustang Creek Country Club, Ganada, Texas from 1960-61. He was a member of Waterwood Country Club, Huntsville, Texas for 18 years. He won the club championship eight times, 5 of those in a row with a handicap never above 3. and once even a minus one, plus he made four “holes in one, ” while at Waterwood.
In 1952, Jerry’s dad purchased 291 acres on the outskirts of Livingston, Texas. The idea was to raise cattle. Later, when the Livingston Lake and dam were built, much of that land became waterfront property and in 1969, Jerry’s entrepreneurial efforts produced what is now known as “Pinwah Pines Subdivision, ” a lovely place of rolling scenic terrain, with beautiful lake views, that is prosperous and still growing today. The highest point of elevation on the lake is located in Pinwah Pines. During these years, Jerry was the Administrator of the Polk County Environmental Services until his retirement in 1990.
Jerry never lost contact with old friends and over the years made many more, all who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, October 12, 2013, at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM. A private family inurnment will be held at the Galveston County Memorial cemetery, Hitchcock, Texas.

Ninfa Alvarez, born on January 15, 1931 to Julian Martinez and Romana Llamas Martinez in Mexico, passed away on October 5, 2013 at the age of 82. Martin Ellis Womack
January 13, 1965 - October 3, 2013
Martin Ellis Womack of Houston, will be laid to rest on October 9, 2013. He was born in Orange, Texas on January 13, 1965. When he was two years of age, his family moved to Houston where he was raised. Womack attended Woodland Acres Elementary School, and Woodland Acres Junior High and graduated from Galena Park High School in 1983. Soon after graduation, he enlisted into the U.S. Army as a radio communications specialist. After being honorably discharged, he worked and put himself through college earning his Bachelor's Degree at the University of Houston, Clear Lake Campus. He enjoyed a career as an expeditor with various large engineering firms in Houston and was regarded by many of his co-workers and superiors as one of the best in the business.
Womack frequently made trips to Livingston, Texas to visit his lifelong friend, Willie Openshaw. They became friends in second grade and kept the friendship for the rest of his life. Womack was an avid chess player as he and Openshaw saw many epic battles on the checkered board (with Womack winning most of the time). He was called "uncle Womack" by Openshaw's kids, and he never missed their birthdays.
He was a member of Galena Park United Methodist Church, and was a student of the Bible, and particularly enjoyed Bible prophecy.
Womack is preceded in death by his Mother, Bonnie Ruth, and his Father, Joseph Francis. He is survived by his older brother, Joey, and his younger brother, Carl, and various cousins, uncles, and aunts.
A memorial service will be held from 5pm - 8pm on October 8, 2013 at San Jacinto Memorial Funeral Home in Houston. A funeral will follow on October 9th at 10am. Martin Ellis Womack will be laid to rest at Mount Pisgah cemetery in Woodville, Texas, next to his mother and father.

Thomas was born in Houston, Texas on May 30, 1954 to parents, Homer Floyd Currie and Nellwyn “Hagler” Currie. He is preceded in death by this father, Homer Floyd Currie and mother, Nellwyn “Hagler” (Currie) Hogan; brother, Rickie Currie; and sister, Nancy Hollingsworth.
Thomas is survived by his ex-wife, Frances A. Ellis, of Longview, Texas; son, Jason Currie of Longview, Texas; step-daughter, Marie Norman of Leggett, Texas; brothers, Bruce Currie and Randy Currie, of Oak Hurst, Texas; sisters, Krisandra Burnett and Jeri McMayon of Oak Hurst, Texas; grandchildren: Delia Pickitt, Aniecea Pickitt, Shelby Pickitt and Taylor Pickitt; and great grandchildren: Brooks Green and Baby Patton; and numerous other family and friends.
