Funeral services for George Allen Smith, 88, of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, Livingston, Texas with Rev. Fred Alford officiating. Pallbearers will be Trevor Johnson, Jim Durham, Calvin Zamzow, Donny Hambly, Troy Eckard and Phillip Zamzow. Honorary pallbearers will be Ramin Nosrat, Carl Davidson, Jack Thomas, Marvin Bush and Ed Sheridan. Interment icon to follow at Memorial cemetery in Dayton, Texas. Visitation will be held beginning at noon on day of service.

Mr. Smith was born on June 3, 1925, in Dayton, Texas to parents, William Thomas and Leatrice Smith, and passed away on January 9, 2014 in Houston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Leatrice Smith; wives: Lillian Smith and Viola Smith; daughter, Leatrice Nosrat; brother, Kelso T. Smith; sister, Chrystal Durham; and grandson, Michael Nosrat.

Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter, Tina Marie Johnson of Katy, Texas; grandchildren: Michelle Nosrat, Maria Norsrat, Trevor Johnson and Tracie Johnson; son-in-law, Ramin Nosrat; Niece: Marsha Xomzow and Nephew, Jim Durham; and a host of other family and friends.

Sam Houston Harrington, Jr.
March 30, 1940 – January 8, 2014

A memorial service for Sam Houston Harrington, Jr., 73, of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 1:00 PM, Sunday, January 12, 2014- for further information, contact Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Harrington was born on March 30, 1940 in Midlothian, Texas and passed away on January 8, 2014 in Lufkin, Texas. He worked as a salesman and retired from JC Penny’s. In 1958 and 1959 he was a lettered basketball star on the A-Team in Midlothian High School. In 1966, he was listed in the book Outstanding Young Men of America. His best memories were of fishing and seeing his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother and sisters again, along with, “the many precious years spent with ‘my sweetheart’ Vicki.” He supported the Wounded Warriors Project, veteran charities and was very involved in WWII commemoratives. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam Houston Harrington, Sr. and Earline (Buckner) Harrington; wife, Vicki Harrington; and brother, Allen Harrington.

He is survived by daughters, Christina Swain of Fort Worth, Texas and Michelle Johnson of Bakersfield, California; sons, Bruce Harrington and Aaron Harrington; sisters, Kathee Beirne, Fran Jackson, and Lolly Scribner; brother, Jack Harrington; grandchildren, Stephen Swain, Hannah Self, Jessica Swain, Lawrence Johnson, Willie Swain; great-grandchildren, Kira, Ava, Sophee; nieces: Vicky Lynn and Stephanie; nephews: David and Eddie; great niece, Charlene and great nephew, Kenneth, along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services for Belinda G. Bankes, 56, of the Houston, Texas, will be held Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magnolia cemetery in Onalaska, Texas with Gene Shinn officiating.

Mrs. Bankes was born February 8, 1957, in Little Rock Arkansas to parents Ross and Norma Irene (Ermel) Holden. She married her husband, Michael E. Bankes on May 20, 1978 in Houston, Texas. She is predeceased by her parents, and son, Andrew Bankes.

She is survived by her husband, Michael E. Bankes, of Houston; son, Michael Ross Bankes of Houston; son, Matthew Edward Bankes of Houston; grandchildren: Michael Drew Bankes, Julio Belloso and Rachel Belloso; brother, Danny Ross Holden; sister and brother-in-law, Jolena and John Graham of Latexo; sister and brother-in-law, Debra Ann and David LaGrace of Cleveland; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Walter Boyd Kint
April 2, 1928 - January 10, 2014

Loving husband, devoted father and best friend to so many that new him. We will miss you more than words can say.

Walter was born and attended high school in Texas City, TX and joined the U S Marine Corp in 1951 where he learned construction by building bridges. He raised his two daughters with his first wife in Dickinson. While there Walter worked at Monsanto and and was prominent in the construction industry. He was also very active in the community and was a member of the local chapter of the Jaycees.

Walter married Becky in 1972 and they resided in Houston raising her two sons till 1986. At that time they moved to Livingston, Texas and have lived there for 27 of their 41 years of marriage. Prominent members of the First Baptist Church, Becky & Walter were very active there in numerous events and the Discipleship Class. .

Walter was preceded in death by his mother Georgia. He is survived by his two daughters Debbie Bullard of Dickinson, TX and Ronnie & Mike Corrick of Sacramento, CA. Stepsons; Mike Stanila & Friend Mary of Pearland, TX and Joe Stanila of San Jose, CA. Granddaughters Kelsey, Kristie and Stephanie; Grandsons Joseph, Kenneth, Kyle, Stephen, Zachary and Great Grandson Easton.

Walter Kint was the person who would always meet you with a smile. He loved a joke, Louie Lamour novels, had a sweet tooth, enjoyed the outdoors, bbq and laughing with friends and family. But most of all he loved animals, especially his dog Cassie and his cat Tori. He could build and/or repair anything and even in his final days he was telling us how he would reconstruct the room at his nursing facility.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Gracie Good and the staff at Timberwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for all the special care and kindness they extended to Walter and his family during the month that he stayed there. They made Walter's journey an easier one. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in honor of Walter to Timberwood, 4001 N Hwy 59, Livingston, TX 77351.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January 13 at the First Baptist Church in Livingston, TX. 9:30 Family Viewing, 10:00 Public Viewing, 11:00 Celebration, 12:00 Lunch.

Mr. Holman was born May 31, 1980 in Houston, Texas to parents, Richard Lewis and Diane (Clopton) Holman II, and passed away on January 7, 2014 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, and uncle, Harry E. Holman.

He is survived by his wife: Samantha Aultman of Livingston, Texas; son: Zane Holman of Livingston, Texas; brother: Richard Lewis Holman III of Shepherd, Texas; sisters: Leslie Stowe and Josh, and Chrissy May and Scott of Michigan; honorary mother: Donna Holman of Livingston, Texas; grandmother: Lavada Judy Meadows of Livingston, Texas; grandfather: Ray Meadows of Coldspring, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Davis Roland Scott
March 6, 1932 – January 9, 2014

Funeral services for Davis Roland Scott, 81, of Kingwood, Texas, will be held Monday, January 13, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Homer Anderson officiating. Interment icon will follow in the Mernard Chapel cemetery in Segno, Texas. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Scott was born March 6, 1932 in Oakman, Alabama to parents, Charles Garrett and Eva Laurie (Sides) Scott, and passed away on January 9, 2014 in Kingwood, Texas. He worked as a regional sales manager for Henderson Brick. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife: Louise Scott of Kingwood, Texas; son: David Keith Scott of Kingwood, Texas; daughter: Laura Scott of Kingwood, Texas; sister: Nancy Spikes of Franklin, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Chance was born on January 17, 2001 in Shenandoah, Texas and passed away on January 7, 2014 in Livingston, Texas, He was a member of the Special Olympics Go-Getter Basketball Team in Livingston. He is survived by his parents, Michelle and Robert Cain of Livingston, Texas; sister, Ashley Windham of Onalaska, Texas; grandparents, John and Gail Windham of Onalaska, Texas; great-grandmother, Millie Parker of The Woodlands, Texas; uncle, Buck Windham of Bremond, Texas; aunt, Nicole Hewitt of Conroe, Texas; aunt and uncle, Darlene and Sonny Lowery of Sweeny, Texas; uncle, Michael Parker of Onalaska, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Earl “Tex” Beers Jr., born in Bethlum, Pennsylvania to Earl Agustus Beers and Adell Irene Stull Beers on March 21, 1936, passed away on January 3, 2014 at his home in Splendora, Texas will his loving friends at his bedside. Tex will be greatly missed.

January 18, 1930 – January 6, 2014

Mr. Roberds was born on January 18, 1930 in Shepherd, Texas and passed away on January 6, 2014 at his home in Livingston, Texas. He proudly served our country in the United Stated Army. He married Doris Rochelle Rocchi on July 10, 1948 in Houston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther Lewis and Myra (Murphy) Roberds; brothers, Luther Arnold Roberds, Warren Roberds; sisters, Rosie Baxter, Ruby Barrett, Carrie Blackmon; daughter, Debbie Neal.

He is survived by wife, Doris Rochelle Roberds of Livingston, Texas; son, Raymond Lewis Roberds, Jr. and wife Sherry of Port O’Connor, Texas; son, Larry Gene Roberds and wife Tracy of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Teresa Carol Benson and husband Robert of Sarepta, Louisiana; son, Kenneth Wayne Roberds of Cleveland, Texas; grandchildren, Kimberly Ann, Larry Foyt, Ashley, Kyle, Terrie DeAnn, Ricky, Kim, Heather, Lacey, Lil Kenny, Kendra; twenty one great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Mr. Roberds will be escorted to his grave by pallbearers, Tommy Trimm, Mike Criswell, Brandon Rose, Robert Shane Burnett, Richard King, Gerald Criswell.

Roger Alan Deal
February 10, 1939 – January 3, 2014

Roger Alan Deal, 74, of Livingston, Texas, was born on February 10, 1939 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, to parents, William A. Deal and Ella E. (Kahl) Deal and passed away on January 3, 2014 in Livingston, Texas. He worked as a chemist for the majority of his life. He graduated from South Union High School, Uniontown, Pennsylvania in 1961. He attended Washington and Jefferson College and graduated in 1961. He was the owner/president of Bard’s LLC. He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Lucy Jane Deal.

He is survived by his son, Roger Deal Jr.; son, William Deal; daughter, Marjorie Deal; son, Jonathan Deal; daughter, Jacqueline Deal; son, Jesse Deal; sister, Judith Faye Hardy; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many other relatives, and a host of friends.

Neal Lanto Tate

Neal Lanto Tate born on January 18, 1935 to Adolphus “Doc” Tate and Olive Whittington- Carter in Homer, Louisiana, passed away on January 3, 2014 at the age of 78. Those left to cherish his memory are son, Tony Tate and wife Sandra; daughters, Faye Thibideau and husband Richard, Charlene Tate-Provenzano; step-sons; Richard Heeth and wife Nancy, Daniel Heeth and wife Janis; grandchildren, Julia, Dana, Rebecca, Laura, Erica, Natalie, Derrick, Aaron, Corrine; brother, Charles Carter and wife Pat; numerous other nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Neal was preceded in death by his loving wife Lela Pat Tate; both parents; sister, Baby Faye.

Neal served proudly in the United States Army Airborne. He retired with the United States Postal Service in 1998 where he was an auto technician. Neal and Pat moved into the area after his retirement. Neal loved motorcycles, football and Nascar racing but the most cherished thing to him was his family.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Pace Funeral Home 200 FM 350 North, Livingston, Texas 77351 starting at 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Celebration of Neal’s life will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at Pace Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Jennings and Brother Charles Carter. Pallbearers will be Tony Tate, Danny Heeth, Richard Heeth, Richard Thibideau, Mike Morgan, Charles Carter and Tommy Mosley. Interment icon will follow at Restland Memorial Park cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Military Honors will be presented at the cemetery. A reception will be at the VFW Post #8568 in Livingston, Texas.

Deacon John G. Stanley
January 9, 1933 – January 3, 2014

Funeral services for Deacon John G. Stanley, 80, formerly of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 9, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Livingston, Texas with Bishop Warren J. Guillory officiating.

Interment will be held at 2:30 PM at Houston National cemetery.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, January 8, 2014, with the rosary beginning at 8:00 PM with Deacon Mike officiating, at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Stanley was born on January 9, 1933 in East St. Louis, Illinois and passed away on January 3, 2014 in Katy, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was the state assistant chaplain for the Knights of Columbus and was ordained as a deacon on May 9, 1987. He was also a chaplain at the Polunksy Unit of the Texas Prison System. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Loretta Marie (Durney) Stanley; brother, William Stanley; and sister, Jean Hartl.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Stanley, formerly of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, William W. and Janet Barrow of Cranston, Rhode Island; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Johnny Gouge of Gladstone, Missouri; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Bill Beardsall of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, William Beardsall, Nicole Louder, Timothy Beardsall, Miranda Jordan, and John Thomas Gouge; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Louise of Illinois and Candy Jean of Katy, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
