Mr. Tipton was born September 1, 1935 in Onalaska, Texas to parents, Robert Tipton and Charlsie Ruth (Sowell) Tipton, and passed away April 23, 2015 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sisters, Leecy Wiggins of Livingston, Texas, and Wilma Clifton and Bobby of Livingston, Texas; brother, Charles Tipton and Carol of Livingston, Texas; 8 nieces and nephews; 20 great-nieces and nephews; along with numerous other great-great nieces and nephews, and other family members.

Mrs. Oliver was born August 29, 1940 in Houston, Texas to parents, Earnest Dewey Tibbs and Minnie Azilea (Stein) Tibbs, and passed away April 20, 2015 in Lufkin, Texas. She lived in Livingston since 1980. Bettye was known as a strong, independent lady who was also a loving and caring mother and wife. She also loved her church family. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Larry Eugene Tibbs.
She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Oliver of Livingston, Texas; sons, Jerry Oliver and John Oliver both of Livingston, Texas; four grandchildren, sister, Jeanene Konviska of South Houston, Texas; sister-in-law, Ruby Mae Tibbs of Onalaska, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Larry was born June 9, 1980 in Galveston, Texas to parents, Hilario Miguel Uvalle Jr. and Wanda Yvonne (Cade) Vaco, and passed away April 19, 2015 in Livingston, Texas. He was a very giving man that loved to be around children and pitbull dogs. He was the most wonderful and best husband a girl could ask for.

Mr. Sanders was born January 26, 1937 in Spring, Texas to parents, Auther Barnette Sanders and Sarah (Roach) Sanders, and passed away April 18, 2015 in Lufkin, Texas. He retired from A.I. Mundy in 1992 and worked hard all his life. He was an honest man who loved to help do things for others. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dickey A. Bentley and David Howell; sister, Jessie Vandever.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Sanders of Livingston, Texas; daughters, Wendy H. Memorial service for Jim Rios, 59, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the American Legion Post #402 in Onalaska, Texas.
Mr. Rios was born June 24, 1955 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to parents, Rudolph D. Rios and Ivy (Rose) Rios, and passed away April 17, 2015 in Lufkin, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Army 101st Airborne and was a POW in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion Post #402. He loved children so much that he became a foster parent. Jim also loved to fish and hunt.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Rios of Livingston, Texas; sons, Dan Rios of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Jesse Rios of Brooklyn, New York; daughter, Brandy Williams of Diboll, Texas; brothers, Rudolph Rios Jr. of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Dennis Rios of Livingston, Texas, Paul Rios of Grand Rapids, Michigan; sisters, Louisa Walters of Chicago, Illinois, Shirley Childs of Newaygo, Michigan; along with numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Mr. Lawson was born October 23, 1935 in Liberty, Texas to parents, William H. Lawson and Essie (Walker) Lawson, and passed away April 1, 2015 in Livingston, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He loved his family and has left them with many wonderful memories and tall tales. Everette was the founder of the Goodrich Fire Department, a member of the Lions Club and also a member of the Goodrich School Board. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Dorothy, Helen, Earlyn; and brother, Sellers Roy.

Funeral services for Edwin D. Battise, 74, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Presbyterian Church, on the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation, in Livingston, Texas with C.R.E. Debra Kleinman officiating. Interment
will follow in the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2015 beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. Battise was born June 10, 1940 in Polk County, Texas on the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation to parents, Fred Battise and Minnie Ora (Thompson) Battise, and passed away April 14, 2015 in Woodville, Texas. During his life, he was a proud member of the Bear Clan. He was an avid sports fan, especially for University of Texas and the New York Yankees. He also was a lifetime member of the Amateur Softball Association and coached the Houston Indians and the Livingston 49ers softball teams. He was a former basketball player and was a member of the state champion basketball team of Big Sandy in 1957. Edwin also served as a basketball official for the City of Houston. In addition to being a lover of sports, he served as Chairman of the Tribal Elders. He was also a former Tribal Councilman. In the church, he served as a deacon, elder, and former Clerk of Session. In addition to his many church related activities, Edwin served on the transportation staff for Vacation Bible School and was an Indian Presbyterian Church Representative at state Presbyterian Church Representative at state Presbyterian meetings. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janie (Sylestine) Battise; son, Brian E. Battise; step-son, Allen Sanders; brother, Virgil Battise; sister, Annie K. Langley; and nephew, Linus Battise.
He is survived by his daughter, Blanche Thompson and Sheldon of the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation; grandchildren, Shelby Thompson and Taylor Thompson; great-grandchildren, Hunter Thompson and Gunner Thompson; sister-in-law, Bartha Battise of Elton, Louisiana; sisters-in-law, Deloris Johnson and 2nd Chief Herbert Johnson of the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation, Beryl Battise of the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation; brother-in-law, Amon Sylestine and Deborah of the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation, Ralph Bradford and JoAnne of Bedias, Texas; nephews, Jason Rayne Langley and Raven Langley both of Elton, Louisiana; nieces, Karen Williams and Kerri Williams both of the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation, Patricia Langley and Chester of Elton, Louisiana; great-great nephew, Nicholas Wyman Williams; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
