July 20, 1934 – March 20, 2015

Graveside services for Kathleen Jarrell, 80, of Onalaska, Texas, will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Pankey cemetery in Bedian, Texas with Rev. Don Wilkey officiating.

Mrs. Jarrell was born July 20, 1934 in Edenburg, Scotland to parents, Frank Burgdorfer and Annie (Storie) Burgdorfer, and passed away March 20, 2015 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband, James H. Jarrell III.

She is survived by her brothers, Robert A Burgdorfer of Knox, Pennsylvania and John Burgdorfer of Fertigs, Pennsylvania; sister, Helen Rotering of Beverly Hills, Flordia; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Doris Jean Atchley
February 8, 1926 – March 23, 2015

Memorial services for Doris Jean Atchley, 89, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Monday, March 30, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Steve Woody and Bro. James Frazier officiating.

Mrs. Atchley was born February 8, 1926 in Leggett, Texas to parents, Clarence Carter Tullos and Annie Elizabeth (Matthews) Tullos, and passed away March 23, 2015 in Livingston, Texas. During her life, she attended Leggett High School. After graduation, she attended San Houston University where she earned her Bachelors degree in business and a Master’s degree in education. Doris Jean then began her teaching career in the late 1940s in the Leggett School District. She then served as the Polk County Cooperative Schools Special Services Counselor for 19 years. And then returned to Leggett ISD where she retired from the teaching profession after 54 years. She was also an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Livingston, as well as the Red Hat Society. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Connor Atchley; brother, C.C. Tullos Jr.; sister, Lorraine Stavast; and brother, Lon Tullos.

She is survived by her son, Jay Roy Atchley and wife, Courtney of Houston, Texas; daughter, Nina Atchley of Austin, Texas; granddaughter, Annie Atchley Cummings and husband, Ryan of League City, Texas; granddaughter, Meredith Atchley Baird and husband, Taylor of Dallas, Texas; grandson, Connor Atchley of Austin, Texas; sister, Florence Maze of Leggett, Texas; great-grandchildren, Keating Cummings, Ansley Cummings, Zachary Cummings, and Jack Baird; nephew, Jay Maze; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Leggett ISD Alumni Association; P.O. Box 68; Leggett, Texas; 77350

Funeral services for Robert Eugene Roessler, 72, of Goodrich, Texas, will be held Friday, March 27, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Bo Richardson officiating. Military Honors provided by VFW Post #8568.

Mr. Roessler was born September 9, 1942 in Corpus Christi, Texas to parents Alfred E. Roessler and Bregedia (Hahn) Roessler, and passed away on March 22, 2015, in Goodrich, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Laura Roessler.

He is survived by his son, Mike Roessler of High Island, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Dawn Roessler of Goodrich, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law; Heidi and John Williams, Paula and Paul Baker, Pam and Mike Brown all of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Carson Roessler, Dawson Roessler, Hunter Williams, Savannah Hoffman, M.C. Orville Lloyd Schinke
March 18, 1932 – March 22, 2015

Graveside services for Orville Lloyd Schinke, 83, of Livingston, Texas, will be held in the Arlington National cemetery at a later date.

Mr. Schinke was born March 18, 1932 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to parents, Orville Schinke and Julia (Hennessy) Schinke, and passed away on March 22, 2015, in Humble, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorene Jane Schinke; sisters, Janie Whitmore and Darlyne Miller; brother, William Brandel.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Schinke of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Georgia Schinke of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Rhonda Schinke of Southfield, Michigan; son, Douglas Schinke of Milford, Connecticut; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Deana Schinke of Marion, Iowa; sisters, Julie Rai of New Orleans, Louisiana and Nancy Brandel of St. Charles, Missouri; sister-in-law, Kathy Brandel of Plano, Texas; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Orville was retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant in 1972, graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering with an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1974 and then went to work for Rockwell-Collins in Cedar Rapids, Iowa first as an engineer and then as a technical writer. In 1981 and 1983 he graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center, Broken Arrow, OK and pastored for five years in Spencer, Iowa. In 2000 he and his wife became members of Escapees RV Club and traveled in a fifth wheel RV until health issues made this impossible in December 2012 and they settled at Escapees RV Co-op, SKP Ranch, Lakewood, NM. In September 2014 Orville and his wife moved to Livingston, TX and became residents of the Escapees CARE. Memorial gifts can be sent to Escapees CARE, 155 Care Center Drive, Livingston, TX 77351

Dorothy Mae Kervin
February 21, 1928 - May 14, 2015

Dorothy Mae Cain Kervin, age 87, passed away on May 14, 2015 in Humble, Texas, after a brief illness. She was born in Segno, Texas on February 21, 1928 to parents Elijah Hardy Cain and Daisy Mae Reed Cain.

Dorothy grew up in Segno, graduating from Big Sandy High School after completing 12 years of school in just 9 years. At the age of 16, she headed to the big city of Houston to attend Houston College of Beauty Culture. Afterwards, she married Virgil “Big Boy” Stutts and they had two children, Beverly and Virgil. After the untimely death of Big Boy in 1960, she married Billy Kervin. They were married for 51 years when he died. Dorothy was a hairdresser for many years, owning a beauty shop in Cleveland and later working at her daughter’s hair salon in Baytown. She was beloved by her fellow hairdressers and her long-time clients throughout her career. She knew everyone and loved to share stories. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and was very accomplished at sewing and embroidery. One could often find her in her huge garden tending to the rows and rows of vegetables she raised to share with family and friends. She was an extraordinarily giving person and loved having her family and friends around her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Virgil Stutts, second husband, Billy Kervin, brothers Charles Cain, Chester Cain and Rudolph Cain, sisters Mattie Cain and Joyce Cain Smith and great-granddaughter Brittney Sonnier.

She is survived by two brothers, Olan Cain and wife Fay, and Eldon Cain and wife Esta; two children, daughter Beverly Stutts Worthington and husband David, and son Virgil Stutts, Sr. and wife Sheila; two step-daughters, Kay Kervin Mitchell and husband Billy, and Rhonda Kervin Aldrich and husband Robert; 6 grandchildren, Tanya Frazier Rich and husband Gary, Jeri Frazier Sonnier and husband David, Charlotte Frazier Jackson and husband Gary, Julie Frazier Bourgoin and husband Tom, Virgil “L.B.” Stutts, Jr. and wife Karla, Tessa Stutts Marriott and husband Steve; 4 step-grandchildren, Joel Danforth and wife Yesenia, Dawn Rivera, Kelly Wesley and husband Mike, and Amanda Mitchell and partner Eric; 11 great-grandchildren Keith Rich, Jessica Rich Burke, Katie Rich Carroll, Mindy Sonnier Bielss, Tom Jackson, Abigail Jackson, Frazier Bourgoin, Nate Bourgoin, Lane Robinson, Londyn Marriott, and Chase Marriott; 8 step-great-grandchildren Victoria Rivera, Isabella Rivera, Sophia Rivera, Sarah Stutts, Renee Stutts, Stephen Lawson, Gracie Mitchell and Derk Mitchell; and 6 great-great-grandchildren Laikyn Rich, Kylee Rich, Aubrey Burke, Axel Burke, Carson Carroll and Kyler Bielss; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Cleveland on Monday, May 18, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 18, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 10:00 am at Magnolia Hill cemetery in Segno. Pallbearers will be Gary Rich, David Sonnier, Gary Jackson, Keith Rich, Tom Jackson, Frazier Bourgoin and Nate Bourgoin.

Gary was born September 13, 1987 in Conroe, Texas to parents, Gary Dean Seales Sr. and Lisa Ann (Warren) Covey, and passed away May 11, 2015 in Livingston, Texas.

He is survived by his fiance, Ashley Allen of Livingston, Texas; son, Kamryn Seales of Livingston, Texas; mother, Lisa Covey of Livingston, Texas; father, Gary Seales Sr. of New Caney, Texas; grandmother, Earlene Lawrence of Livingston, Texas; sisters, Rachel Warren of Livingston, Texas, Morgan Seales and Abigal Seales both of Irwinton, Georgia; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

John was born November 23, 1968 in Houston, Texas to parents, Billy Ray Kimberlin Sr. and Avis (Fletcher) Adams, and passed away May 8, 2015 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Wardwell and Billy R. Kimberlin Jr.

He is survived by his father, Billy R. George Cooper
November 4, 1918 – May 6, 2015

Funeral services for George Cooper, 96, of Tumwater, Washington, formerly of Livingston, Texas, will be held Thursday, May 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Central Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas with Pastor Mike Meadows officiating. Interment icon will follow in the Center Grove cemetery with Military Honors provided by VFW Post# 8568. A Masonic ceremony will be conducted by the Masonic Trinity Lodge #14 AF&AM and a ceremony by the Order of the Easter Star. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

George Cooper, 96, passed away May 6, 2015 at the Hampton Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Tumwater, Washington. He was born November 4, 1918 to Ferg and Bertha Cooper in Port Arthur, Texas. He served in the Army for two years prior to WWII in the Panama Canal Zone, and then was transferred to infantry in the European theater during the war. George retired as a lieutenant in the Canal Zone Police Force, and was an ordained minister. He was a lifelong member of his local church wherever he was living, and a lifetime member of the Masons. George is survived by two sons; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a brother; and a sister. He is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Dorcas; five brothers sisters.
