Albert Frank Brewster III
Albert Frank “Trey” Brewster III, infant son of Albert Frank Brewster Jr. and Michelle York Brewster, passed away August 14, 2003. Trey is survived by his parents; grandparents, Ellen Brewster and Steve and Pam York; brother, Kenny Brewster; great grandparents, Sherman and Wilma York, and Larry and Patricia Warner, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation was held Tuesday, August 26, 2003 from 2 to 9 p.m. at the home of Steve and Pam York, 24963 Hwy. 6, Hempstead, TX. A graveside service was held Wednesday, August 27, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at the York Family cemetery with ministers Andy Qualls and Bob Grigg officiating. Pallbearer was his grandfather, Steve York. Arrangements are under the direction of Canon Funeral Home in Waller.
Onalee Marie Milburn
Onalee Marie Milburn, age 53 of Hockley, passed away on August 22, 2003. Ms. Milburn is survived by her partner, Georgianna McTighe; daughter, Shawnna Foster, brother, Jimmy Purdy; and sisters, Nancy and Rhonda.
Memorial service was held Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at 7 p.m. at Canon Funeral Home Chapel.
Judy Ann Daigle Levassar
Judy Ann Daigle Levassar was born January 30, 1935 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the daughter of Adam and Marie Croom Daigle. She grew up and attended school in Jennings. After graduating from high school, she attended McNeese State University.
On May 20, 1954, Judy married
Larry Levassar. They made their home in Jasper until 1955 when they moved to Tyler. In 1959 they returned to Jasper. From 1969 until 1979, they lived in Brookshire. Larry was employed by Stewart and Stevenson until 1978. Judy and Larry moved to Powell, Wyoming in May 1979. Larry preceded Judy in death on September 26, 1979. For the past seven years, Judy has made her home in Bellville, Texas.
For 5-1/2 years, Judy had worked on the Apollo 11 Project. She had also been employed as media transcriber for 17 years. She enjoyed painting and antiques.
A loving mom, friend and witness for Jesus to all who knew her, she passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at her home in Bellville after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 68 years old. Judy is survived by her children: Jay Levassar and Linda Streckfuss and her husband John, both of Bellville: Grandchildren: Jason Levassar, Larry Jayce Levassar, Audrey Leighann Streckfuss and Madison Elizabeth Streckfuss; and great grandchildren: Cody Blane Levassar, Cassandra Renee Levassar and Alleya Leona Levassar. She is also survived by her sister: Connie Beth Adams of St. Francisville, Louisiana; and many other dear friends and relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 15, 2003 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Bellville with Reverend Matthew Jacobs officiating. Graveside services followed in the Chandler cemetery in Chandler, Texas at 4:00 p.m. Honorary pallbearers were Bill Glass, Bud Ralph, Ronnie Primrose, Billy Jack Adams, Jason Levassar, Jayce Levassar, Lodie Adams and John Streckfuss.

Tony Stephen Venable
Funeral services for Tony Stephen Venable, 49, a loving husband, father, son, grandson, brother, uncle and friend were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 7, 2003 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Interment
followed at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Minister Allen Hahn officiated the services.
Visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2003 in the State Room of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home.
Tony was born February 10, 1954 in Huntsville to Melvin D. and Ann Jett Venable. He passed away August 3, 2003 in Houston.
He is preceded in death by his brother Dennis Venable.
Tony is survived by his loving wife Tracey Venable, his son Kristopher Venable, his parents Melvin and Ann Venable, his grandmother Carmen Jett and his sister Letha Wood.
He will be dearly missed by many family and friends.

Therese J. Gaydosik
Therese J. Gaydosik, 55, was taken into the open arms of an angel of mercy while under hospice care in the benevolent home of her loving sister and brother-in-law, Lucia and Don Sevcik of Houston, along with the caring assistance from Marcia Samuda. Therese had the wonderful ability to turn sullen frowns into upturned smiles. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She was a 1966 graduate of Incarnate Word Academy of Houston and a devoted 35 year employee of the City of Houston, her only employer. She retired in early 2002.
Other survivors include her husband of 25 years, Larry Gaydosik of Katy, son: Justin Gaydosik of Katy, her mother: Emilia Konieczny of Houston, her youngest sister: Marilyn Grafe of Houston, her sister-in-law: Jackie Konieczny of Mississippi, her sister-in-law: Cheryl Peschke and husband Nathan of Katy, her brother-in-law: William (Bill) Gaydosik and wife Lorene of Houston, and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Therese is preceded in death by her father, Alex and her brother, Lawrence.
An inspiring celebration of her vibrant life was held 6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 13, 2003 at the Pat H. Foley Funeral Home, with many former co-workers and family member sharing their vivid memories of a warm, kind hearted lady. They talked of the pleasure it was to be near her, Therese's ability to find documents filed away from years past which nobody else could locate, her inherent love of life, and the unwavering optimism bestowed on them throughout the years. Afterwards a heartfelt, resonant Rosary was led by her grieving mother.
The funeral liturgy was held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 14, 2003 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pattison, Texas, with Father David J. Dubois as celebrant. He was superbly assisted by Mrs. Marie Pattison. The Rite of Christian Burial was held in the Pattison cemetery.
Dennis E. Wilson
Dennis E. Wilson, 75, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2004 in Pattison, TX.
Dennis was born April 10, 1928 in Canal Point, FL to Frank and Hulda Sundberg Wilson. He graduated from Pahokee High School in April 1945 and immediately entered the U.S. Navy, receiving an honorable discharge in 1946. He attended Rochester Institute of Technology from 1948 to 1951 and graduated from Florida State University in 1955 with a degree in Business/Advertising. Dennis married
his wife of 49 years, Mary Lou Martin, in 1954. He was self-employed in a printing business, Character Composition, in Rochester, NY until 1989 when he and Mary Lou moved to Brookshire, TX.
He is survived by his wife, son, Mark and daughter-in-law, Bette-Jane; son, Matthew and daughter-in-law, Dawn of Sierra Vista, AZ; daughter, Melanie and son-in-law, Ben Easters. He is also survived by four granddaughters Sara, Kate, Rebecca and Amanda; his brother Max W. Wilson and sister-in-law Betty of Fort White, Florida; sister Frances E. Adams of Pahokee, Florida; seven nieces and one nephew.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2004 at 11:00 am at the Pattison United Methodist Church on FM 359 in Pattison, TX.

Jennie Lee Simpson James
Jennie Lee Simpson James was born in Mississippi on August 25, 1935 to parents Frank Simpson and Lovie Brown Simpson. She grew up in St. Louis, Mo., later living in Gary, Ind. and Houston, Texas, where on July 11, 1983 she was married
to Jessie James. Since 1984 they have lived in Pattison, Texas. A skilled cook, she had worked in restaurants. She was a faithful member of Wade Chapel Baptist Church, where her husband was the minister.
She passed away on May 10, 2004 in a Houston hospital at the age of 68 years, eight months and 15 days.
Survivors are her husband, Rev. Jessie James; nine children: Ernestine Williams, Wesley Burt, Otis Burt, John Irby, Charles Irby, Timothy Williams, Jeff Williams, Fred Williams and Michelle Nelson; 22 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters: Vernice Meadows, Loviesteen Hill, Pearline Lowder and Geraldine Hunt; one brother: Dr. Steve Simpson. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank and Lovie Simpson; two children: Randy Williams and Jimmy Simpson.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2004 at the St. Paul Baptist Church in Brookshire, Texas with Rev. David Hunter and Rev. Jessie James officiating. Her sons served as pallbearers.
Burial followed in Clemons cemetery in Pattison, Texas.
Funeral services were provided by Schmidt Funeral Home in Brookshire.
Wayne Allen Showers
After a six month long battle with lung cancer, Max Louis Lesak, of Pattison, Texas, died on July 10, 2004, at the age of 69. He is survived by his wife and love of 28 years, Terrie-Lynn Bach and their 13 year old son, Michael Bach-Lesak, his eldest son, Mark Lesak of Victoria, Texas and daughter, Shanda Lesak of El Campo, Texas and four grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, LaVern Bomersbach of Victoria, Texas, his brother, Robert Lesak of El Campo, Texas and sister Ann Schaer of Danevang, Texas and their families.
Max's widow and young son have been left financially devastated by his illness. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be sent to a memorial fund in his name. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 31, 2004 at 5 pm in Stephen F. Austin State Park in San Felipe, Texas. Those attending are asked to please bring a covered dish and a chair. Max Lesak, you were loved by many people in this life and you will always be in our hearts.
Christopher Jerome Sobieski
Christopher Jerome Sobieski went to his heavenly reward early Sunday morning doing the thing he loved best – being a Police Officer. He died in the line of duty when his patrol car caught fire after a speeder hit it from behind. The accident occurred on highway 290 near Prairie View. He was a member of the Prairie View Police Department for the past three years. He is survived by his wife, Romney; grandmother, Hortense Sievers; and parents, John and Millie Sobieski, both of Seguin; sister, Shari Dixon and husband Mike; their children, Rachelle, Jaclyn and Zachary of Lakeway, Clinton and his wife Amanda, and daughter Aubrey of Norfolk, Virginia; and step-brother, Cecil Dean of Hempstead.
Services will be held with a Rosary and Memorial Service in Waller, TX at 7:00pm on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2004, Canon Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be Friday, October 1, 2004 at 10:00am at St. James Catholic Church in Seguin, TX with Monsignor Darilek officiating. Inurnment of the ashes will follow at 1:15pm at Fort Sam Houston National cemetery in San Antonio, TX. Tremayne Vaughn Sr.
Tremayne “Chick” Vaughn Sr. was born to the proud parents of Stella (Vaughn) Bailey and Talmadge McKinney on June 2, 1974. He passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2004.
He graduated from Royal High School in 1992. He attended Jay’s Barber College in Houston, Texas. Tremayne had many talents. He enjoyed life, making people laugh, helping others, and was a joy to be around. One of his many interests included his collection of cars in which at times were profitable. He will be missed for his kind, caring peace making ways.
He is survived by his loving mother Stella (Vaughn) Bailey of Brookshire; Talmadge McKinney of Fulsher; Stepfather, Kenny Bailey of Brookshire; Children: Marquis Vaughn, Jakyious Lasker, Dedrick Vaughn, Quarmaine Vaughn, Tremiah Vaughn, Nasaia Vaughn, Trekayla Vaughn and Tremayne Vaughn Jr.; one sister Nichelle (Vaughn) Colins of California and two half sisters of Dallas, Texas; four brothers, Terrance Vaughn Sr. of Brookshire, Kedrick Fields of Fulsher, Teddy McKinney (Dee Dee) of Houston and Clifton Ward of Wallis. His special friend and companion Marquita Vanduren of Monaville, Texas and unborn child; two grandmothers, Ruth Harris of Brookshire and Bertha McKinney of Fulsher; grandfather, Leon Vaughn of Brookshire and one great-grandmother Carrie Vaughn of Brookshire, six nieces, seven nephews, three aunts, eight uncles, four great aunts, seven great uncles, a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held in Brookshire at the Encampment Building at 4202 First Street on Sunday, November 27, 2004 at 11:00 a.m.

Vadena Francis Price McPhail
Vadena Francis Price McPhail, the daughter of Thomas Andrew and Mary (Read) Price, was born on November 5, 1915 in Williamson County, Texas, and she passed away in a Katy hospital on January 7, 2005.
She was a longtime resident of Tomball, Texas, where she was employed as a bookkeeper, and as an LVN. On October 19, 1946, Vadena was united in marriage with Raymond McPhail in San Antonio, Texas. She was a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Chaparral Genealogical Society, and the First Baptist Church of Brookshire, Texas.
Vadena is survived by her two sisters: Grace Taylor of Bertram, Texas, and Billie Price of Houston, Texas; sisters-in-law: Erline Price of Austin, Texas, Martha Jane Price of Baytown, Texas, Bennie Belle Price of Houston, Texas and Tommie June Price of Bullard, Texas. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Mary Grace Kitzman and her husband, Bill, of Pattison, Texas, Richard and Gwen Price of Austin, Texas, Nancy John of Baytown, Texas, Walter and Michael Price of Houston, Texas, Suzanne Kyzer of Greenwich, CN, Andy Price of Midland, Texas, Jenny Price of Bullard, Texas, and Benny Taylor of Bertram, Texas; many great nieces and nephews; as well as other family and friends. She especially enjoyed the company of her great-great niece Jessica and her great-great nephews Andrew and Jason Kitzman of Ellicott, MD.
Vadena was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond O. McPhail and her son, Thomas Raymond McPhail. She was also preceded in death by her brothers: Thomas, J.D., John R. and George R. Price, and by her sister Aletha Price Taylor.
A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 10, 2005 at the Klein Memorial Park cemetery, 32539 State Highway 249, Pinehurst, Texas, with Reverend David Thomas officiating.
Brenda Jean Young
Brenda Jean (Stuckey) Young was born February 21, 1949, in Pueblo, Colorado, the daughter of Eugene and Dolores (Graftenreed) Stuckey. She grew up and attended school in Pueblo.
In 1974, Brenda moved to Houston where she made her home for the next six years. She was united in marriage with Robert L. Young on June 28, 1980 in Houston, Texas. They made their home in Katy until 2001 when they moved to Brookshire, TX.
A registered nurse, Brenda particularly loved opening out-patient surgery centers. She worked for Dr. Denton Cooley for one year before going to work for the group that opened Park Plaza Hospital in Houston. She was also employed at Katy Community Hospital when they first opened.
A faithful and beloved member of the First United Methodist Church in Brookshire, Brenda enjoyed collecting dolls and was particularly devoted to her two Boston Terriers.
She passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at her home in Brookshire at the age of 56 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband: Robert L. Young of Brookshire; Father: Eugene Stuckey of Pueblo, Colorado; and sister LuAnn Young and her husband, Tom, of Leavenworth, Kansas. Brenda is also survive by her niece: Karli Young; nephew: Thomas Young; great nephew: Ethan Young; and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother.
A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005 at First United Methodist Church in Brookshire with Reverend Roy Taylor and Reverend Jim Thomson officiating. Ralph J. Streckfuss
Ralph J. Streckfuss, the son of John Martin and Louise Kellner Streckfuss, was born on March 26, 1920 in Dallas, Texas. He grew up and attended school in Dallas. From 1938-1941, he attended the University of Texas in Austin, where he majored in chemical engineering. In 1941 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country during World War II as a pharmacist mate until 1944. From 1944 - December 1945, he served as an Ensign. After Ralph’s honorable discharge, he attended Poly Tech in Ruston, LA. as a Pre-Med Major before transferring to SMU in Dallas. In 1947, he graduated from SMU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Med.
On June 5, 1948, he was united in marriage with Evelyn Moore in Belton, Texas. They made their home in Tyler, Texas until 1956 when they moved to Brookshire. A member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Katy, Ralph was employed as a hospital medical supply salesman for a number of years.
He was the grandson of J.G. Kellner, who plotted the first town of Kellner which is now known as Brookshire. For 47 years, Ralph kept very precise rainfall records in the area. In recent years, he shared this information with the Brookshire newspaper.
He passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2005 in a Katy hospital at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife of over 56 years: Evelyn Streckfuss of Brookshire; Children: Fred Martin Streckfuss of Brookshire, John Robert Streckfuss and his wife Linda of Bellville, Betty McCormick and her husband, Ricky, of Sealy, and Anita Jeanette Bruck and her husband, Mike, of McKinney; and eight grandchildren: Audrey an Madison Streckfuss, Candice and Emma McCormick, and Annie, Ella, Adam and Hannah Bruck. He is also survived by his brother: Harold Streckfuss of Cypress; Sister: Marie Richburg of Austin; and many other friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Louise Barnes.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 7 at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel in Brookshire with Pastor Mel Newman officiating. Interment
followed at 3:30 p.m. at the Forest Park Westheimer cemetery in Houston. In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the charity of their choice.
