MARCUS NELSON MCADAMS

MARCUS NELSON MCADAMS, was born February 21, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas, the son of James Russell and Phyllis Neal (Kent) McAdams. He grew up and attended school in Houston before serving his country in the U.S. Navy until his honorable discharge in 1969.

A Catholic by faith, Marcus was united in marriage to Martha Albarracin in Venezuela, San Antonio Betachica on December 28, 1988. While Marcus was employed as a Superintendent with Houston Metro Electrical, he and Martha made their home in various locations until finally moving to Pattison in 1995. Marcus enjoyed scuba diving, fishing and was an active member of his church.

He passed away suddenly, Friday, February 20, 2009, at the age of 63. He is survived by his loving wife of over 20 years, Martha McAdams of Pattison; sons, Miguel Mauricio McAdams and his wife, Karly, of Hawaii; Joshua Shane McAdams and his wife, Erica, of Tampa, Florida; daughter, Vanessa Dawn McAdams Tallman and her husband, Randolph, of Tampa, Florida; mother, Phyllis McAdams of Pattison; grandchildren, Tracy and Mali McAdams and their mother: Puthisa Muangmala, Taylor Dawn, Zachery, Ryan, Hayley and Kyle Tallman, Joshua Aaron and Austin Ryan McAdams, Britney Haggard and Rachael Marie Gomez. Also surviving Marcus are his sisters, Camille Mauriello of McGregor and Kathryn McAdams Wilson of Pattison; aunt, Norma Price of Hitchcock; nephews and cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24 and Rosary was at 7 p.m. at Schmidt Funeral Home in Brookshire, Texas. Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pattison, Texas with Father David DuBois, Celebrant.

Clarence Shelton, III

Clarence Shelton, III, was born on August 8, 1974 in Sealy, Texas, the son of Clarence, Jr. and Ella (Williams) Shelton. Baptized at an early age, he grew up in Fulshear and attended school in Rosenberg, graduating from B.F. Terry High School.

Clarence was employed by BAE (formerly Stewart and Stevenson) as a Painter 1. He loved riding horses. A member of Zion Chapel Baptist Church, Clarence loved making friends.

He was united in marriage with Candace Perry on August 14, 2004 in Wallis.

They had most recently made their home in Fulshear.

Clarence passed away suddenly April 1, 2009 at his home at the age of 34. He is survived by his wife, Candace Shelton; children, Bryan Perry and his wife, Lotorsha, Joshua Perry and his wife, Renata, Chris Barley and his wife, Katye and Steven Barley and his wife, Kye; grandchildren, Bryan, Jr., Breyanna, Candace, Steven, Jr., Arianna and Joh Neja.

Also surviving Clarence are his mother, Ella Louise Penrice and her husband, Gerardo; father Clarence Shelton, Jr. and his wife, Joyce; sisters, Shunell Shelton, Samantha Brown and her husband, Antoine, Ethel Shelton; brothers, Willie C. Edwards, Sr. and Douglas B. Smith, Jr.; grandmother, Vernell Shelton; grandfather, Clarence Shelton, Sr.; great-grandmother Bernice Brown, nieces and nephews Alexus Brown, Dishawn Kesee, Willie C. Edwards, Jr., Savannah Brown, Anastacia Edwards, Antoine Grant, Jr., Alijah Grant, Aisa Grant, Douglas B. Smith, III; his babies, Theo and Thomas, his cats; Red, Blue and Baby Girl, his horses; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Willie Mae and Joe Williams, Elnora B. James and Will James.

Final arrangements were under the direction of Schmidt Funeral Home, 819 Waller Ave., Brookshire, Texas 77423.

Mr. Charles Julius McDonald

Mr. Charles Julius McDonald passed away on April 25, 2009 at the age of 68 years old.

He is survived by his daughters, Laura and Jason Huddleston (Chattanooga, TN), Kara McDonald (Knoxville, TN), Deborah McDonald (San Antonio, TX), grandsons; Caien Huddleston and Cadyn Huddleson and sister; Karen and Charlie Brown (Aurora, CO).

Charles is preceeded in death by brother Stanley McDonald.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 1, 2009 from 10AM to 12PM at Pattison United Methodist Church. A graveside service will follow at Pattison Methodist cemetery in Pattison TX.

Mary Ree Allen Larkin

Mary Ree Allen Larkin departed her earthly family and was united in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, Thursday, April 30, 2009.

Born November 25, 1919 in Pattison, Waller County, Texas, Mary was the daughter of James and Tempie Starks Allen. A lifelong resident of Pattison, she attended the Post Oak School. She confessed her hope in Christ at an early age under the pastorship of Reverend Armstead Brandyburg and later joined Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

In 1935, Mary was united in matrimony with Rodger Larkin. To this union six beautiful children were born.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mary treasured the times she was able to spend with her family. She loved her church, and had a passion for making friends.

She also enjoyed fishing, raising chickens, gardening, quilting and traveling.

Mary leaves behind her Beloved Children: Jessie Allen Larkin and Arnold Lee Larkin, both of Houston, Eleanor Larkin Hayes of Brookshire and Ruby Larkin Davis of Pattison; 10 Grandchildren; 18 Great Grandchildren; 5 Great, Great Grandchildren; One Sisterin-law: Rovordah Jones; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sons, James Alvin and Michael Jackson Larkin, and her brothers, Bob, George and James Curtis Allen, and sister, Alena Allen Campbell.

Homegoing Service was on Saturday, May 9 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Brookshire, Texas with Reverend Lee Jones, Jr., officiating. Interment icon was at Clemons cemetery.

Pallbearers were John Allen, LaKeith Allen, Charles Wayne Allen, Arnold L. Campbell, Jr., Vincent Guillory and Bruce Banks.

Honorary Pallbearers were James Dedrick, Anthony Larkin, Andre Larkin, Rodell Brown, Jessie Larkin, Arnold Larkin, John Hasker, Joe Whitaker, Allen Swinton, A.D. Randle and Arnold Lee Campbell, Sr.

Rosie Lee Johnson

Rosie Lee Johnson, died May 11, 2009 in Brookshire, Texas. Body will lie in state Friday, May 15, from 6 to8 P.M. at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Brookshire.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M., Saturday, May 16, at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Willie Johnson officiating. Interment icon will follow in the Clemons cemetery. Funeral arrangements entrusted to: Schmidt Funeral Home, 819 Waller Ave., P.O. Box 248, Brookshire, Texas 77423, (281)934-2424.

Rosie Lee Webster

Johnson was born March 24, 1940, in Pattison, Texas.

The daughter of James and Rebecca Banks Webster, she grew up and attended school in Pattison and graduated from Clemons High School.

Rosie confessed a faith in Christ at an early age, was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, and later joined the Greater Way Baptist Church.

She was united in marriage with Robert Johnson in Hempstead, Texas. Rosie and Robert made their home in Brookshire.

A wonderful cook, Rosie was employed at the Brookshire Nursing Center for over thirty years where she was a supervisor for the cafeteria. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she loved cooking for her family, and cherished the time she was able to spend with them.

But her specialty was the perch she caught in Bessie's Creek in Pattison using her cane pole.

Rosie joined her Lord and Savior in her new Heavenly home Monday, May 11, 2009, at the age of 69. She leaves behind her husband, Robert Johnson of Brookshire; sons, Willie Earl Brown, III and his wife, Melissa, of Brownsville, Calvin Brown and his wife, Pauline, of Sugarland, Arthur Brown and his wife, Barbara, of Houston, and Elton Brown and his wife, Ida, of Katy; daughter, Bernice Brown of Houston; five step-daughters, two stepsons, grandchildren, Latrice Kennedy, Adrian Brown, Travis Brown, Lashonda Brown, Janesa Brown, Latrivia Brown, Jordan Brown, Christopher Brown, Aaron Brown, Kadejha Brown, Makayla Brown, Kendra Brown, Deenah Brown and Jackie Baker; three great-grandchildren, sisters, Bessie Stewart, Odessa Norris, Doretha Branch; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Rosie was reunited in Heaven with her parents, her brothers, James Webster, Jr. and Jessie Webster, her sisters, Stella Mae Webster and Alberta Webster, and one niece, Gloria Rogers.

Homegoing Service was at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 16 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Willie Johnson, Officiating.

Interment was at Clemons cemetery. Pallbearers were Claudia Norris, Jr., Dexter Wayne Norris, Demetri Rogers, Renwrick Webster, Keith Rogers and James Brown.

Honorary Pallbearers were Travis Brown, Adrian Brown, Christopher Brown, Aaron Brown, Vincent Guillory and Jarvis Webster.

Ivie Lou “Momma Lou”

Matthews was born December 16, 1933, in Clayton, Missouri. The daughter of Ivie Jennings and Ethel Mae (Roundtree) Corzine, she grew up in University City, Missouri.

Ivie Lou married Donald Leroy Matthews on September 12, 1951. They made their home in Florida and Missouri before moving to Simonton, Texas in 1979. In 1983, they moved to Wallis.

Don was a general contractor, so when Momma Lou wasn’t taking care of the children, she would work beside him at his construction jobs.

Don preceded her in death December 4, 1991. Momma Lou has made her home at The Oaks in Sealy since 2006.

An avid music lover, Momma Lou loved to go dancing almost every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. While living in Missouri, they sang and played music on the radio, Momma Lou would yodel. They also appeared on television a couple of times. She enjoyed entertaining and loved having huge barbecues where hundreds of friends would gather and listen to their music.

She passed away suddenly Tuesday, June 16, 2009 in Katy, Texas at the age of 75.

She is survived by her children, Henryetta “Bunny” Evans of Sealy, Donald William “Bill” Matthews and his wife, Elizabeth, of Pattison, Pearl Lee Bruner and her husband, Doug, of Sealy,

Maryetta Renee “Mary” Creek and her husband, Terry, of Lampasas, Bruce Aaron Matthews and his wife, Rachel, of Wallis and Paul Stephen Matthews of Sealy; daughter-in-law, Karen Sue Smith and husband Wesley of Wallis; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; Sister, Judy Lacy of O’Fallon, Missouri; brother-in-law, Robert Matthews and his wife, Teresa, of Missouri; and many other dear friends and relatives. Moma Lou was preceded in death by her parents, husband Don, sons Timothy Leroy and Merrell Dee , daughter Donna Lou Matthews, three brothers and two sisters.

Memorial Service was held at 2 p.m. on June 21 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pattison with Father David DuBois officiating. In lieu of usual remembrances, friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the charity of their choice.

James Michael Edens

James Michael Edens was born the son of Joseph and Ernestine Sexton Edens on July 26, 1942, in Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up and attended school in Florida.

James served his country in United States Army as an Defense Acquisition Radar Mechanic and was honorably discharged in 1962. He continued his service in the United States Army Reserve until 1965.

On August 4, 1973, James was united in marriage to Annie Matzke in Brookshire, Texas. As a career welder, he and Annie lived in various places, including Houston for a number of years and later Pattison in the late 70’s.

James loved hunting, was an avid fisherman, and read any Louis L’Amour novel or gun magazine he could get his hands on.

He passed away Monday, July 6, 2009, in a Katy hospital at the age of 66. He is survived by his wife, Annie Matzke Edens of Pattison; sister, Madge Edens of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers, Joseph Edward Eden and his wife, Nancy, and Jimmy Edens, all of Atlanta, Georgia; one niece and one nephew; step-mother, Eliane Edens of Atlanta, Georgia and many other dear friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside Service was on July 9 at Pattison Methodist cemetery in Pattison, Texas.

Friends who wish may make memorial gifts to the Brookshire-Pattison Volunteer Emergency Ambulance Corps at P.O. Box 908 in Brookshire, Texas, 77423.

Leona Virdean Glenny Milton

Leona Virdean Glenny Milton, known by most as Virdean but known by all her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren as Grandma, Grandma Pooch or Mom, left us all for a better place on July 13, 2009.

She was born on July 18, 1936 to Paul and Ethel Glenny of Blackwell, Oklahoma, where she was raised and graduated from Blackwell High School in 1953. She was wed to Robert Milton in 1955. The union was blessed with three children, Sheryl, Paula and Mark.

Virdean received her business degree from Oklahoma State University and was Executive Secretary for many years at Conoco in Ponca City, Oklahoma . She was a member of the Elks Lodge and co-owner of Ryan Aviation.

She was the family matriarch and loved her family with all of her heart. Family get-togethers were her favorite pastime. Any situation that called for lots of good food, laughter and fun; that was Grandma's place to be, as the hostess of the party.

Virdean resided in Wellington, Kansas at the time of her peaceful passing. She is originally from Blackwell, Oklahoma but spent the majority of her lifetime in Ponca City, Oklahoma; Red River, New Mexico, Amarillo, Texas and Springdale, Arkansas.

She loved to travel and was quite the entertainer back in her day. The get-togethers and open houses that she hosted were talk of the town in Blackwell and Ponca City in the 1960's and 70's.

She is survived by her children, Sheryl Baumberger, Paula Waters and Mark Milton; by her grandchildren, Laura Parker-Fox, Amy Brown, Brad Parker, Justin Milton, Michael Milton, Cody Milton, Cole Brown and Brandon Milton; her great grandchildren Xander Fox, Maddie Milton, Mikayla Milton and Lillian Milton; and one great, great grandchild.

Graveside rights are pending at this time.
