Our beloved Dr. Susie Davis Roberson passed away July 13, 2009. Through her life she has left a legacy of love, humility and grace by serving her God, family and community.
Viewing hours were Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home-CyFair.
Funeral services were on Saturday, July 18 at 11 a.m. at Bear Creek Baptist Church, located at 5901 N. Fry Rd. in Katy, Texas
Michael Todd Smith
Funeral services for Michael Todd Smith, 49, Arp, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 18, at Cannon Funeral Home, Waller, with the Rev. David Sumlin officiating.
Graveside services were also held following the service at Macedonia cemetery, Hockley, near Houston, with the Rev. David Sumlin also officiating under the direction of Cannon Funeral Home, Waller.
Mr. Smith died Wednesday, July 15, 2009, in a Tyler hospital. He was born January 12, 1960, in Hempstead to the late Oscar Edgar "Tubby" and Margarett Ruth Whatley Smith. He attended Waller ISD schools from elementary to high school before graduating from Arp High School in 1978. Mr. Smith went on to attend Louisiana Tech and Sam Houston State University in Hunstville. He married
Glenda Santistevan October 8, 1988, in Waller, Texas. He served as a Little League coach for many years and was a volunteer for CyFair Sports Association in the Houston area. He also served as secretary for the Macedonia cemetery Association and was on the Cattleman's Committee for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Association. He moved to Arp six months ago from Houston and was a regional manager for Qwik Pipe, Henderson.
He attended the Central Baptist Church in Tyler and was a member of the Terra Verde Community Church, Rosehill.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Smith, Arp; a son, Korde Michael Smith, Arp; a daughter, Santana Kimber Smith, Arp; a brother, Thump Phillips, Houston; a sister, Debbie Gillispie, Arp; four nephews and a niece, Clint Michael Gillispie, Cayle Gillispie, Gavin Todd Phillips, Ryan Burtrum and Madison Burtrum.
Pallbearers included Sammy Lovell, Carlos Scott, Jimmy Kuzniarek, Jesus Guerra, Paul Garrett, Clint Gillispie, Cayle Gillispie, John Gillispie and Ken Gillispie.
Mr.Smith was a man of great faith, compassion, patience, and understanding.
His passing was untimely but his impact will be felt for generations through the family, friends, and youth he inspired.
Eric Justin Kelly (Bubba)
Eric Justin Kelly (Bubba) who was truly loved by his family and friends, passed away on Saturday, July 25, 2009. He was born on December 18, 1981 and left much too soon at the age of 27 years old.
He is survived by his wife, Maria and stepdaughter, Anna who both loved and adored him.
Eric is also survived by his mom and dad, Carolyn and Joe Kelly; sister, Katie Dozier and Chris Newcomer; grandfather, Tommie Null; and Maria’s parents, Art and Ginny Garcia. Bubba also had a huge extended family and many great. friends.
Visitation will be Friday July 31, 2009 from 5 to 8 pm at Canon Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Services will be Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 10:00 at Canon Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Nick Morrison officiating. Interment
will follow at Brookside cemetery.
Lou Ann Goodwin
Lou Ann Goodwin, 56, passed from this life on August 2, 2009 in Katy.
Graveside Service: 11 a.m. Saturday in Mount Olivet cemetery in Fort Worth. A worship service to celebrate Lou Ann's life will be held at The Brookwood Community Chapel, 1752 FM 1489, Brookshire, Texas on Sunday, August 9 at 3 p.m.

Frances amy Carlson
Frances amy Carlson was born on October 21, 1953, in Rochester, New York, to Glenn Edward Carlson and Josephine Grace Bellave Carlson. She has lived in Brookshire for 10 years.
Frances Amy Carlson passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2009, at the age of 55 years.
She is survived by her father, Glenn Carlson of Brookshire, Texas; brothers, David W. Carlson and wife Mary of Bellville, Texas, Richard J. Carlson of Brookshire, Texas, and Steven A. Carlson of Cypress, Texas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Josephine Carlson.
A graveside service was held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, at the Katy Magnolia cemetery, in Katy, with a Resolutions Hospice Chaplain, officiating.

Edwin “Coach Red” Morse
Edwin “Coach Red” Morse of Waller, Texas, age 73, passed away on Saturday morning August 15, 2009 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with a heart related illness.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Joann Morse, and children, Connie Turner and husband Kent of Pattison, Texas, Edward C. Morse and wife Gwena of Spring, Texas, Stefanie Ann Morse of Waller, and Rebecca Terranova and husband Christopher of Waller. He will be dearly missed by his grand children, DJ Turner, Brian Turner, Jacklyn Krusleski, Dane Morse, Richard Terranova, and Randy Terranova and great-grand child Corbin Wesley Morse. After his service with the United States Army, he went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Houston, Texas as a construction foreman where he retired in 1986. He then moved to Waller, Texas and became an active volunteer in the community especially with the Waller sports organizations where he enjoyed coaching little league baseball and football and fund raising. Edwin touched so many lives and he is going to be greatly missed by all who loved and knew him.
Visitation was held at Canon Funeral Home in Waller, Texas on August 18 from 5 to 8 p.m. and a Graveside Service on August 19 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s cemetery in Hempstead.

Doris Avery Muske
Doris Avery Muske was born January 22, 1914, and passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2009 in Katy, Texas. She was a lifelong resident of Brookshire, Texas, and a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Brookshire.
Doris graduated from the University of Houston with a Masters degree and taught school for over 45 years beginning at age 19.
Her husband of 51 years, Arie O. Muske, one infant daughter, Judith Ann Muske, and her parents, Joseph W. Avery and Mozelle Edmondson Avery, two brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.
She is survived by two children, Marianne Skrivanek and her husband, Leon, of Brookshire; William A. and Jan Muske of Belton; five grandchildren, Frances Skrivanek of El Paso, Carole Abel and her husband, Ashley, of Houston, Linda Gosney and her husband, Jeff, of Katy, Richard Muske of Dallas, and Susan Craig and her husband, Wesley, of Belton; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-granchildren; and one niece, Dorothy Anderson of La Quinta, California.
Funeral Service was held at 10 a.m. on August 15 at First Baptist Church in Brookshire, Texas with Reverend Herb Stallknecht, Officiating.
Interment was at Pattison Methodist cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ash Abel, Ashley Abel, Wesley Craig, Jeff Gosney, Willie Ivy, Richard Muske and John Hillhouse. Honorary Pallbearers were Dan Boren, Jim Buller, Jim McCue, Harris Garrett, Gary Gostecnik, Calvin Skrivanek, Joe Woods and Dorsal White.

Jonathan Todd Fernandez
Jonathan Todd Fernandez, beloved son of Claude and Cathy Fernandez, went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2009 at the age of 19. He was born December 15, 1989 in Katy, Texas.
Jonathan lived in Pattison, Texas and was a graduate of Cinco Ranch High School in Katy, class of 2009. He was attending Universal Technical Institute, pursuing his passion and gifts as an auto technician.
Jonathan was also a volunteer firefighter with the Pattison Area Volunteer Fire Department. In high school he was the camera man for the Cinco Ranch Football team for four years and active in the FFA program for four years. Jonathan will be missed by many, and will be remembered for having a big smile, and an even bigger heart.
A memorial service for Jonathan was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 19 at Calvary Community Church, 7550 Cherry Park Dr., Houston TX 77095, Pastor Steve Meeks officiating.
Jonathan’s mother, Cathy, delivered the eulogy. The service was followed by a reception and time of fellowship.
Jonathan had a heart for missions and wanted to go on mission trips with his mom Cathy when he finished school. A memorial fund has been set up in his name to make his dream come true. Leon “Buck” Dreahn
Leon “Buck” Dreahn, age 89, of Hempstead, Texas, passed away December 14, 2009. He was born on August 31, 1920 to John and Sally Shelburne Dreahn of Monaville, Texas. He was married
to Marie Wiechmann on December 24, 1941. He served proudly in the U.S. Army in North Africa and Europe in WWII. Upon returning to Hempstead, he was employed by Hempstead Motors. He later worked for Cameron Iron until he retired in 1982 after 25 years. After retirement he enjoyed raising his cattle until his death.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Sally Dreahn; brother, Roland Dreahn; sister, Grace Repka; and nephew, John Dreahn; and is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Marie Dreahn; friends, David and Phylicia Glover; nephews, Robert Dreahn and Malcolm Repka; and many other friends and loved ones.
Visitation was Wednesday, December 16, 2009 from 5 to 7 pm at Canon Funeral Home. A Graveside Service was held Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 10:00am at Hempstead cemetery with Pastor Danny Wendt officiating.

John Del “Sonny” Stefka
John Del “Sonny” Stefka was born May 11, 1934, in Monaville, the son of Delphine and Vlasta Holik Stefka. He grew up and attended schools in Monaville.
He served his country in the United States Army where he was stationed in El Paso and Seattle, Washington.
John was united in marriage to Miss Mary Elizabeth Morgan on June 19th, 1964.
They lived in Monaville, Oklahoma and Colorado before moving to Spricewood, Texas and establishing Bee Creek Reality in 1978. John had recently returned home to Monaville within the past few years. He had a great love for ranching and made that his lifelong passion. John also was a member of the Brookshire Masonic Lodge, #1066, AF & AM. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially elk hunting in Colorado.
John passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2009, in Houston at the age of 75. He is survived by his SISTERS: Opal Trent and her husband, Glen and Ruby Stepan and her husband, Raymond, all of Monaville; NEPHEW: Lee Hartman of Hempstead; NIECE: Mary Alexander and her husband, Richard, of Yoakum. He was preceded in death by his parents, Delphine and Vlasta Stefka, wife, Mary Elizabeth Stefka in 1999 and nephew, Gary Hartman in 2009.
Visitation was from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009 in Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, Brookshire, Texas.
Graveside Service was held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23 at Pattison cemetery, Pastor Lee Hartman, Officiating.
