William Kirby Lewis
William Kirby Lewis, 59, of Texarkana, TX, died Saturday, March 13, 2010, at his son's home in Fouke, AR. He was born March 11, 1951, in Texarkana, TX. He was a mechanic.
He is survived by two sons, Kevin Lewis and Danny Lewis; one daughter, Lori Yarborough; five grandchildren, Kaiden Lewis, Maddox Lewis, Conner Yarborough, Kinzy Yarborough, and Amberlyn Lewis; one brother, Mark Allen Lewis and a number of other relatives.
The family will receive friends from 3-6 pm Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the home of Kevin Lewis, 1618 Valley View, Texarkana, AR.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
DELLA PAULINE RUNNELS
NEW BOSTON, TEXAS - Della Pauline Runnels, age 84 of New Boston, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2010 at her residence in New Boston, Texas. Mrs. Runnels was born October 11, 1925 in Old Salem Community. She was a member of Old Salem Baptist Church, a retired parts expediter at Red River Army Depot. She is preceded in death by her parents Ray and Della McCright, 3 sisters, 1 brother and 1 great grandson.
Survivors include her Husband of 64 years Mr. James Runnels Jr. of New Boston, Texas, four sons & daughters in-law James and Gina Runnels of Bivens, Texas, Jerry and Lisa Runnels of Hooks, Texas, Ricky and Marilyn Runnels of Houston, Texas, Dennis and Janet Runnels of DeKalb, Texas, two daughters and son in-law Frances and Chuck Cornett of Redwater, Texas, Connie Robinson of New Boston, Texas, two sisters Nina McMichael of New Boston, Texas and Neva Hood of Lone Star, Texas and 13 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday March 16, 2010 in the Bates-Rolf Chapel, New Boston. Interment
will be in Old Salem cemetery, under the direction of Bates-Rolf, New Boston. Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. Monday, March 15, 2010 at the funeral home. DAVID SMITH
David Allen Smith, age 60, of Texarkana, TX died Friday, March 12, 2010 at his residence. Mr. Smith was born July 6, 1949 in Texarkana, AR. He was preceded in death by his father, Willie Bob Smith, one sister and two brothers. He was a truck driver, a member of Eylau Hills Baptist Church and a Vietnam veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda of Texarkana, TX; his mother, Julia Sudberry of Texarkana, TX; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tracy and Thomas Franklin and Amber Smith of Texarkana, TX; one son, Larry Wooten of Houston, TX; two sisters, Donna Fowler and Elaine Butt of Texarkana, TX; one brother, Robert Smith of Texarkana, TX and one grandchild, Chassity Wooten of Houston, TX.
Memorial Services will be Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 2 P.M. at Eylau Hills Baptist Church with Carlton Burris officiating under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
Visitation will be Monday, March 15, 2010 4 until 6 P.M. at 320 Maryland Drive Texarkana, TX.
Christine Venable
Christine Venable, age 42, of Texarkana, TX, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at her residence.
Mrs. Venable was born in Alpena, Michigan on December 22, 1967. She was a member of the Twin City Baptist Temple. She was a graduate of the Police Academy and Texarkana College. She worked in Security. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Dunn Sr.
She is survived by her mother, Lucretia Dunn, her husband Steve Venable of Texarkana, TX, four children, Francisco Estrada III of Texarkana, AR, Patrocinia Stemkowski and her husband, Christopher of Texarkana, TX, Aaron Rodriguez of Texarkana, TX, Anna Rodriguez of Texarkana, AR, Ericka Rodriguez of Texarkana, AR; two step children, Steven Adam Dalton and his wife, Tiffany of Texarkana, AR, and Brandi Venable of Liberty Eylau; eight grandchildren and 2 sisters and many other relatives and friends.
Services will be Saturday at 10 A.M. at the Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Siefert officiating.
The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 7 PM at Chapelwood Funeral Home.
Melba Brown Strickland
NEW BOSTON, TEXAS - Melba Lea Brown Strickland, age 91 of Mt. Vernon, Texas, formerly of New Boston, Texas passed away Monday, February 22, 2010 in a Winnsboro, Texas hospital. Mrs. Strickland was born March 14, 1918. She was an employee of Day & Zimmerman, a housewife, a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church, and is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Brown.
Survivors include three sons and three daughters in law, James and Joyce Brown of Plano, Texas, Tommy and Debbie Brown of New Boston, Texas, Terry and Cheryl Brown of Longview, Texas, one daughter and son in law, Sylvia Gayle and Paul Morgan of Sugarland, Texas, three brothers, Thad Vanderburg of Dallas, Texas, Charles Vanderburg of Malta, Texas, Don Vanderburg of New Boston, Texas, two sisters, Jean Duren of Dallas, Texas, Vida Brine of Texarkana, Texas, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a number of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M, Thursday, February 25, 2010 at Faith Missionary Baptist Church, New Boston with Bro. Wayne Stringer officiating. Interment

IMOGENE BURT
NEW BOSTON, TEXAS - Imogene Burt, age 72 of Maud, Texas passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Burt was born May 4, 1937 in Glenwood, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and is preceded in death by her husband, Andy “Buddy” Burt, Jr., a son, Robert “Punkin” Burt, a daughter, Brenda Gean Chambliss, a grandson, Jeffrey “Scotty” Chambliss and a number of brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one son, Terry Burt of Maud, Texas, three sisters, Merle Obenoskey of Bassett, Texas, Sue Berry of Corley, Texas, Louise Auld of Maud, Texas, six grandchildren, Andy Burt, Amos Burt, Christopher Burt and Crystal Wilkerson all of Maud, Texas, Courtney Chambliss and Caitlynn Chambliss of Corley, Texas and a number of great grand children.
Private Services will be held at a late date under the direction of Bates-Rolf New Boston.
Jared Womack
Jared Christopher Womack, age 29, of Texarkana, Texas, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at his residence.
Jared was born July 26, 1980 in Texarkana, Texas and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. Robert G. Womack and Velma Womack.
Survivors include his parents Larry and Janie Womack of Texarkana, Texas; one sister, Laurie Womack of Texarkana, Texas; one brother, Patrick Womack of Texarkana, Texas; his grandparents, Maurice and Mary Lou Holliday of Texarkana, Texas; one special friend, Audra Bilbo of Texarkana, Texas and a number of other relatives.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at the First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Chris Sutherland officiating.

A. W. Bright, age 77, of Texarkana, TX died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mr. Bright was born August 29, 1932 in Texarkana, TX. He was retired from the U.S. Marine Corp, a veteran of both the Korean and Viet-Nam War. He was preceded in death by two children, Tammy Bright and Michael Bright.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta Jenkins Bright of Texarkana, TX; six children, Ellen Prewitt of Houston, TX, Susan Rose of Rowlett, TX, Andrew Bright Jr. of Bennettsville, S.C., Cindy Smith of Texarkana, AR, Sharon Buckner of Hughes Springs, TX, Teresa Duncan, of Texarkana, TX; one brother, Maurice Bright, of Marshall, TX; 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 3 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Military honors under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, TX.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Texarkana Funeral Home, TX.
GILBERT McMILLEN
Gilbert D. McMillen, age 66, of Texarkana, TX died Saturday, February 27, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mr. McMillen was born March 9, 1943 in Bay City, TX. He was retired from Nelson's Shoes, was a Methodist and a veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Devone and Frankie Miller McMillen and two sisters, Clarissa Taylor and Lynn Downs.
He is survived by a special niece and her husband, Becky Woods Rigdon and Paul Rigdon; a special nephew and his wife, Clay and Susan McClure; a niece, Marcie McClure and three nephews, Tony Downs and his wife, Alece, Mark McClure and Chris Downs; three great-nieces, Brittany Downs, Randi McClure and Courtney Ridgon; two great nephews, William McClure and Jacob Rigdon; special friends, Karen and Jim Foster and Shelia and Don Butler and numerous grandchildren.
Graveside services will be Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Mr. Vernon City cemetery in Mt. Vernon, TX with Rev Bill Miller officiating under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home, Nash, TX
