CHUCK HENSON
NEW BOSTON, TEXAS - Charles “Chuck” Henson, age 67 of Simms, Texas passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in a Texarkana hospital. Mr. Henson was born February 8, 1943 in Tutwiler, Mississippi. He was a Baptist, an Engineer with GTE, an United States Army Veteran, and is preceded in death by a brother, James Henson, and two sisters, Clair Middleton and Louise Harville.
Survivors include his wife, Winnie Skelton of Simms, Texas, two daughters, Nikki Burgess of Clinton, Oklahoma, Kathy Skelton of Dallas, Texas, one son, Lee Henson of Amarillo, Texas, one sister, Viola Allen of Center, Texas, 5 grandchildren, one great grandchild and a number of other relatives and friends.
Private services will be held at a later date.
Maxine Dozier
Maxine Polk Dozier, age 84, of Texarkana, died March 6, 2010 in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Dozier was born June 18, 1925 in Texarkana, Arkansas. She was a homemaker and of Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include four daughters, Joann Eubanks of Sanger, Texas, Connie Lyle, Brenda Cook, and Vicki Lane all of Texarkana; three sisters, Wanda Jones of Burkeville, Texas, Jo Carter of Beaumont, Texas, Bobbie Grammer of Genoa, Arkansas; one brother, Billy Polk of Farmersville, Texas; seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Wallace Edgar officiating. Burial is under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M.

Bob Epperson Sr.
Bobbie J. “Bob” Epperson Sr, age 78 of Wake Village, Texas, died Sunday, March 7, 2010 in a local hospital.
Mr. Epperson was born September 13, 1931 in Dallas, Texas. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force, was co-owner of National Auto Stores Inc. and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife Samantha Joyce Epperson of Wake Village, Texas; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bob Epperson Jr. and Penny Epperson of Fargo, North Dakota, Brandon and Rebecca Epperson of Wake Village, Texas, B.J. and Tanya Epperson of Euless, Texas; one daughter, Wanda Wofford of Longview, Texas; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Chapelwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Andy Rachel officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M.
Larry Crabbe
Lester Alvin “Larry” Crabbe, 96, of Texarkana, TX, died Monday, March 8, 2010, in a local hospital. He was born September 26, 1913, in Patmos, AR. He was the retired owner of World Jewelry Importers, and was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle, and a granddaughter, Kay Krabe Rapp.
He is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law, Larry Jr. and Ruth Crabb, Lou and Bobbie Krabe, Harold Crabbe, and Barry and Barbara Crabbe; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carolyn and Buddy Allen and Marilyn Blagg; 14 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
At his request, Mr. Crabbe was donated to LSU Medical Sciences. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

Ted Michael Chambers
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ted Michael Chambers, 32 of Wake Village, Texas. Michael expired on March 8, 2010. He is survived by his parents, Ted and Dorothy Chambers of Wake Village, Texas. Ted Michael's achievements include a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, from A & M University of Texarkana, and 7 Associate Degrees in Computer Sciences from Texarkana Community College. He was a wonderful person, great student, and wonderful friend to all who knew him. His last wishes were to be cremated which will be handled by Chapelwood Funeral Home. Ted Michael was a Baptist. Private family arrangements are pending.
Willie W. Mitchell
Willie W. “Whit” Mitchell, age 91, of Nash, Texas, died Thursday, March 11, 2010 at his residence.
Mr. Mitchell was born September 30, 1918 in Cass County, Texas. He was a retired Quality Control Inspector for Red River Army Depot. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Nash, a member of the N. A.R.F.E. Chapter 300 and a member of the A. A. R. P.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy Air Force having served in World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Mitchell of nearly sixty years.
He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law: J. D. and Ruth Mitchell of Shreveport, Louisiana; one special sister-in-law: Josephine Powell of Atlanta, Texas; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside services will be 3:00 P. M. Saturday at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Joe Strebeck officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be concluded at the gravesite.

Hazel Virginia Jones
Hazel Virginia Jones, 92, of Texarkana, TX, died Monday, March 15, 2010, in a local retirement community. She was born September 7, 1917, in Redwater, TX. She was a teacher and was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and was preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley “Jimmie” Jones.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Harland Jones and Jim and Suzi Jones; one daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Charles Norton; one brother, Frank Harland; one sister, Naomi Osburn; six grandchildren, Jenny Jones, Laura Jones, Lindsey Jones, Tommy Jones, James Norton, and Claire Norton; one great-granddaughter, Abbey Lomelino, and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church, Texarkana, AR, with the Revs. Susan and John Arnold officiating.
Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park under the direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
The family will be at 3601 Lavaca, Texarkana, TX, and will receive friends from 6-7:30 P.M. Friday, March 19, 2010, at Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.

Shari Liles Smith
January 28, 1964 - March 16, 2010
Shari Louise Liles Smith of Wake Village, TX formerly of Maud, TX passed away March 16, 2010.
Shari was born January 28, 1964 to Juanita Newlin Liles and Jack Houston Liles.
She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. Former VIPS President of Wake Village Elementary School and former Girl Scout Brownies Den Leader.
She was preceded in death by 1 sister, Pamela Virginia Liles, 1 brother Charles “Chuck” Dillow, her father Jack Houston Liles, and her mother Juanita Newlin Liles. Her paternal grandparents Wade Hampton “Jack” Liles and Okla Wee Castleberry Liles. Her maternal grandparents Pansy Jane Overholtz and Frank Lewis Newlin.
Shari is survived by her husband of almost 17 years Ken Smith. One son Kaleb Smith, 13, one daughter Karissa Smith, 10 all of Wake Village, Texas; her brother, Dennis Dillow of Houston, TX, and 4 nephews Jason Dillow of Auburn, WA, Charles “Ben” Dillow of Texarkana, TX, Scott Poole of Valencia, CA, and Liam Dillow of Oklahoma City, OK.
Shari grew up in Maud, TX and moved to Wake Village when she and Ken married
May 29, 1993. She graduated from Maud High School in 1982. She went on to get her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary education and then her Master's of Science in Education with an endorsement in gifted and talented. She taught school at Redwater ISD for 10 years. She loved teaching all of her kids.
Shari's two children were the light of her life and she was very active in their activities and lives. She was a very loving wife and friend. She loved her Lord and loved sharing Him with others.
Shari will be greatly missed by all that knew her. She always had a warm smile, helping hand and an encouraging word.
Services will be Friday, March 19, 2010 at 2:00pm at Chapelwood Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Montgomery, Rev. Andy Rachel, and Rev. Jackie Stanfield officiating. Burial will be at Center Ridge cemetery in Maud, TX under the direction of Chapelwood Funeral Home in Nash, TX.
Visitation will be 6pm-7:30pm on Thursday, March 18 at the funeral home. The family will be at the home of Ken Smith in Wake Village, TX.
