Myron M. Jenson
Funeral services for Myron M. Jenson, 76, of Baytown and formerly of Cranfills Gap, were held Thursday morning, May 17, 2001, at Redeemer Lutheran church in Baytown, the Rev. Richard Turner officiating. Interment icon followed at Mount Pleasant cemetery in Montgomery. Jenson passed away Monday, May 14, 2001, at his home. Jenson was born July 15, 1924, in Cranfills Gap, to J. Justin and Helen Jenson. A 1941 graduate of Barbers Hill High School, he was on the first football team to be inducted into the Barbers Hill Sports Hall of Honor, and was a 1949 graduate of Texas A&M; University. He was a lifelong member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where he sang in the choir. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran, and he retired from Texas Eastern Transmission Corp. with 35 years of service. Jenson was an Eagle Scout, a member of the Cuero Veterans of Foreign Wars post, and a member of the VPB-18 Squadron. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Justin and Helen Jenson, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Alma Busch. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jackie Busch Jenson of Baytown; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Judy Jenson of Houston, Frank Jenson of LaPorte, and Charles and Karen Jenson of Allen; sister and brother-in-law, Junelle and Bill Kubik of Baytown; brother, Eugene Jenson of Anahuac; uncle and aunt, the Rev. Lawrence and Camilla Jenson of Clifton; and grandchildren Laura Jenson, Justin Jenson, Katie Jenson, Morgan Jenson, Rachel Jenson, and Rebecca Jenson. Serving as pallbearers were Jim Kubik, Terry Britton, Jeff Eldridge, the Rev. Morris Mathis, Josh Kubik, and Justin Jenson. Honorary pallbearers were Alan Bond, Fred Sager, Warren Locklin, Jack James, Ted Dodd, and Buzz Mitchell. Arrangements were under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home, Baytown.

Lisa Dawn Sanders
Funeral services for Lisa Dawn Sanders, 39, of Clifton, were held Thursday, May 17, 2001, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Clifton, the Rev. Gregory D. Knippa officiating. Interment icon followed in Clifton cemetery. Sanders died Monday, May 14, 2001. Sanders was born Aug. 2, 1961, in Clifton, to Henry and Ora Marie (Wiese) Sanders. She attended Clifton schools, graduating from Clifton High School in 1980. She lived in Clifton her entire life. She was a seamstress with Walls Industries, and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sports and other outdoor activities, was independent, self-sufficient, and well-loved by all, according to a family member. Sanders is survived by her son, Chris Sanders of Clifton; her parents, Henry and Ora Marie Sanders; brothers William and wife Donna Sanders, David Sanders and fianceé Beth Garner, Johnnie and wife Lori Sanders, and Chris and wife Michelle Sanders, all of Clifton; sisters Janet and husband Jimmy Evans and Betty and husband Brett Gardner, all of Clifton, and Virginia and husband Gary Anderson of Cranfills Gap; 17 nieces and nephews; one great-niece; and longtime friend Bill Henkelman. Pallbearers included William Sanders, David Sanders, Johnnie Sanders, Chris Sanders, Gary Anderson, Bill Henkelman, Jimmy Evans, and Brett Gardner. Honorary pallbearers included Pat Stewart, Marcus Jermstad, Danny Bergman, Ron Istre, Garland Braune, Billy Gilbreath, Lloyd Fossett, George Arnold, Jamie Hunt, Ricky Bakke, Pete Devaney, Claude Outlaw, and Bobby Coffman. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Clifton building fund. Clifton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Gladys Marie Shields
Funeral services were held for Gladys Marie Shields, 87, of Lake Whitney, on May 17, 2001, at Yantis cemetery in Yantis, Texas, with the Rev. Arliss Banks and the Rev. Shawn Gibson of Smith Bend Baptist Church officiating. Shields was born on Jan. 25, 1917, in Gordenville, Texas, the daughter of W.W. Shields and Cora Willingham Shields. She passed away on May 13, 2001, at her home at Lake Whitney. Following high school, Shields attended Cosmetology School and had been employed as a teacher of cosmetology. She had lived in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Midland, Texas. She served in the U.S. Air Force and her hobbies included quilting and sewing. She will be remembered as a most giving, sharing, and Christian person. Survivors include two sisters, one brother, and numerous nieces and nephews. Interment icon was in Yantis cemetery under the direction of Clifton Funeral Home.

Olan Rowe Dollins
Funeral services were held for Olan Rowe Dollins, 86, on May 12, at Turnersville Baptist Church, with the Rev. Curtis Bankston officiating. Gladys Weaver was the pianist. Dollins was born on the family farm on Dec. 28, 1914, the son of George Oen Dollins and Lora Dell Rowe Dollins. He was married to Lurlene Fullwood for 67 years. He worked and lived in the Clifton area for a number of years and in 1954, they moved to Dallas and they were both employed at Buckner Children’s Home for 18 years. In retirement, they moved back to the family farm and have been there nearly 27 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, George Oen and Lora Dell; and two sisters, Opal Herring and Sally Pruitt. Survivors include his wife, Lurlene; one son, Oen Dell, both of Turnersville; one daughter, Janell Cox of Irving; five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, and friends. Pallbearers included Monty Cook, Charles Smith, Bob Murray, Sonny Gilmore, Wayne Wallace, and Danny Smith. Honorary pallbearers included Jim Pinkston, grandsons, and nephews. Interment icon was in Turnersville cemetery under the direction of Clifton Funeral Home.

Verna Ima McFadden Wilson
Funeral services were held for Verna Ima McFadden Wilson, 87, of Clifton, on Friday, May 18, 2001, at 10 a.m., at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Jerry Smith officiating. McFadden was born on Jan. 29, 1914, in Clifton, the daughter of Wyatt Thomas McFadden and Ida Brasher McFadden. She passed away on Tuesday, May 15, 2001, in Clifton. She attended Terrel rural and Clifton schools. On March 10, 1935, she married Fred Noble Wilson Sr. To this union, two sons were born, Fred N. Wilson Jr. and Thomas Edward Wilson. During World War II she worked as an aircraft junior mechanic from 1944-45 at Hill Field, Sahara Village, Utah. Many people will remember her from school and also as a medical aide at the Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home where she worked until her subsequent retirement. She will be remembered as a loving mother and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Wilson, and a grandson, Fred N. Wilson III. Survivors include two sons, Fred Jr. and wife, Joan, of Erath County, and Tom and wife, Helen, of Houston; one sister, Ebbie McFadden Huffman of Clifton; grandchildren, Laray Adame of Houston, Jay Wilson of Lincoln, Neb., Heidi Wilson of Houston, and Teek Wilson of Houston; and four great-grandchil

Shelby Lee Richardson
Funeral services were held for Shelby Lee Richardson, 73, of Clifton on Monday, May 21, 2001, at 11 a.m., at Our Lady of the Lake Episcopal Church in Laguna Park, with Father Steve Hart officiating. Richardson was born on Sept. 2, 1927, in Waco, to Frances Tippen Welch and John Edward Richardson. He died on Friday, May 18, 2001, in Clifton. He was known by all as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Shortly after his birth, the family moved to Tyler. He was a long time resident of Dallas and most recently of Clifton. He was a 1944 graduate of Tyler High School in Tyler, and a 1950 graduate of Southern Methodist University with a B.S. Degree. While at SMU he was a member of the football team and Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. Richardson married Anna Leslie Coolidge in 1951. He was a retired banker from numerous banks in Texas, including Hillcrest State Bank and Wynnewood State Bank in Dallas; the charter president of Central State Bank and Trust in Farmers Branch; Bosque County Bank in Meridian; and the Clifton Bank, Clifton. Most recently, he was a real estate appraiser with Richardson and Associates of Clifton. Richardson was an active member of Our Lady of the Lake Episcopal Church in Laguna Park and a Bosque County (Clifton) Rotarian. His Masonic Honors include dual membership in Clifton Lodge #360, and Hillcrest Lodge #1318, of which he was a 50 year member. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Valley of Dallas, Orient of Texas. A member of A.C. Garrett #103 Knights of Templar of Texas. A member of Karem Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Waco. A member of Council #18, Royal and Select Masons, Dallas; and Chapter #47 Royal Arch Masons of Dallas. He enjoyed football, baseball, swimming, golf, flying, and stamp collecting. Survivors include his wife, Anna Leslie Richardson; daughter and son-in-law, Nina Frances and Jim Cox of Hurst; son, Shelby Lee Richardson, Jr. of Clifton; son and daughter-in-law John Ervin and Amy Richardson of Coppell; five granddaughters, Laura Leslie Cox, Tiffany Carolyn Cox, Victoria Grace Cox, Kindel Ashley Richardson, and Lisa Marie Richardson; and one grandson, Christopher Carl Richardson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Our Lady of the Lake Episcopal Church or the Rotary Scholarship Fund, c/o Coke Gibbs, First National Bank, Bosque County. Interment icon was at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, on Monday, May 21, at 4 p.m., under the direction of Clifton Funeral Home.

Madison (Matt) Poston
Funeral services for Madison (Matt) Poston, 36, of Bryan and formerly of Valley Mills, were held Monday, May 14, 2001, at the First United Methodist Church, the Rev. Lindsay Churchman officiating. Interment icon followed in the Poston-Odle cemetery near Valley Mills. Poston died Thursday, May 10, 2001, in Bryan as the result of an auto accident. He was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Bryan and was a 1995 graduate of Texas A&M; University. Survivors include his parents, Don and Kitty Poston of Valley Mills and Abby and Joe Birdwell of Cranfills Gap; a grandmother, Ruth Poston of Valley Mills; a sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Tony Tomchesson of Valley Mills; four stepbrothers and three sisters-in-law, Kevin and Melinda Wolfe, Dale and Dawn Birdwell, and Glenn and Jerri Bird, all of Austin, and David Wolfe of Tennessee; two stepsisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and David Robinett of Abilene, and Terry and Jim Clements of Round Rock; three nieces, a nephew and numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of his grandfather, D.T. Poston, and grandmother, Alberta Streight. Foss Funeral Home, Valley Mills, was in charge of arrangements.

Joe Bozarth
Funeral services for Joe Bozarth, 72, of China Spring, were held Monday, May 14, 2001, at First Baptist Church of Woodway, the Rev/ Ken young officiating. A Masonic graveside service followed at China Spring cemetery. Bozarth died Friday, May 11, at a Waco hospital. Bozarth was born Aug. 24, 1928, in Waco. He went to Waco High School and then moved to Galveston to live with his dad. He finished his education in Houston and Galveston, prior to joining the Navy serving in Hawaii. Bozarth left the Navy on medical discharge and established roots in Dallas. He had numerous businesses, always meeting the public. In 1964, he came home to Waco to open a convenience store. Later, he went on to be in the liquor business, sell Pontiacs, have a shrimp boat at Aransas Pass, and finally retire from the sand and gravel business in the mid 1990s. His friends and family knew the passion he had for fishing, hunting, and having a good time. He absolutely loved making folks happy and would certainly share the happiness. Fourteen years ago, after a life full of parties, Bozarth decided, with God’s help and countless friends at AA, to party on but without the alcohol. He lived at least 14 more years because of it. He believed so strongly in “the program” and would be quick to tell you, “work the program because it works.” He was afraid not to work the program. While his college work was studying counseling for substance abuse at M.C.C., most of his college was spent on his sons at Texas A&M.; He loved the Aggie spirit and was so proud to have a son, a daughter-in-law, and two grandsons that would graduate from Texas A&M.; Bozarth was a 50-year Master Mason and a member of the Shrine for over 40 years. While loving the fraternity for the fun and fellowship, he most admired the work they do for crippled children, burn victims, and the widows and orphans. Bozarth was preceded in death by his first wife, Lou, in 1974. He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy, her two daughters, Ginger Townley and her two sons, Brian and Aaron Townley, and Karen Colemeco and her children Paris Minzer and Anna Minzer; his sons and their families, Joe Bozarth III and wife Freddie and their sons Joe Bozarth IV, Jeff Bozarth, and William Bozarth; his daughters, Meagen, Kelley, and Erin Bozarth; his two favorite aunts, Kathleen Kunz and Louise Spurgin. His first cousin, Alton Pearson will be so happy to learn of the special care and attention the Hillcrest folks gave to Joe and his family. Pallbearers were Jim Spencer, Emmett Reed, Bill Boyd, Chuck Youts, Trent Thompkins, Steve Broussard, Henry Paine, Herb Warren, and Paul C. Ferrell. Honorary pallbearers were his friends at Karem Shrine. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to the China Spring Volunteer Fire Department and Rural Metro Service or the charity of choice.

Anna Scott Hill
Funeral services were held for Anna Scott Hill, 89, of Whitney, formerly of Meridian, on Friday, Oct. 12, 2001, at 11 a.m., at Lawson Funeral Home Chapel in Meridian, with Dr. Alan Lane officiating. Anna H. Rohne was born on Dec. 5, 1911, in Valley Mills, the daughter of the Late Olaf O. and Agnes Juline Jensen Rohne. She passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001, in the Hill Regional Hospital in Hillsboro after an extended illness. She was raised and educated in Cranfills Gap. She was a longtime resident of Meridian, where she owned and operated a grocery store and service station for many years. She moved to Whitney to live with her daughter several years ago and had resided in Town Hall Retirement Center in Hillsboro for the past 14 months. Anna Rohne married Ben Scott in 1934, and later married Luther Hill, in 1968, both preceded her in death. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Meridian. Survivors include son, Billy B. Scott and wife, Susanne, of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter, Jenniefer Scott Bybee-Gaston and husband, Don, of Whitney; sister, Fern D. Murphree of Meridian; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers included Garland Murphree, Bob Prisk, Kelby Williams, Roger Scott, Randall Rohne, Larry Benfor, Tracie Burch, and Donald King. Honorary pallbearers were Cary Scott, Gayle McHargue, Ray Hensley, J.J. Rohne, Odell Wallum, and Don Gaston. Interment icon was in St. Olaf Lutheran cemetery near Cranfills Gap under the direction of Lawson Funeral Home of Meridian.
